May scorched and withered; March was restless, and could be hard and cold in its brightness; but April came along softly like a blessing, and if it were a fine April it was so beautiful that it was impossible not to feel different, not to feel stirred and touched.
Letting 'The Enchanted April' work its magic amidst blossoms and sunshine. A perfect read to welcome the gentleness of spring and the promise of transformation.

Fiction Picks: Spring Covers
With spring in the air, check out these gorgeous spring covers!
The Garden by Nick Newman
In a place and time unknown, two elderly sisters live in a walled garden, secluded from the outside world. Evelyn and Lily have only ever known each other. What was before the garden, they have forgotten; what lies beyond it, they do not know. Each day is spent in languid service to their home. So when a nameless boy is found hiding in the boarded house at the center of their isolated grounds, their once-solitary lives are irrevocably disrupted. Who is he? Where did he come from? And what does he want?
Can't Help Faking in Love by Swati Hegde
Harsha Godbole has never felt love from her family, but she’s always been surrounded by their Bollywood business mogul wealth. Now back in Bangalore after studying in America, Harsha is ready to start her adult life without their money. But that becomes impossible when everything she’s worked so hard for comes crumbling down. Fearful of showing up to her cousin’s upcoming wedding as a failure, Harsha decides to put her trust fund to good use - hire her favorite barista as her fake boyfriend for the wedding bash.
Pride and Premeditation by Tirzah Price
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a young woman who desires a law career must be in want of a case. So when sixteen year old Lizzie Bennet hears about a scandalous society murder, she sees an opportunity to prove herself as a solicitor by solving the case and ensuring justice is served. Except the man accused of the crime already has a lawyer on his side: Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy, the stern young heir to the prestigious Pemberley Associates law firm. Lizzie is determined to solve the murder before Darcy can so she can show the world a woman can be just as good as a man.
This is the first volume in the "Jane Austen Murder Mystery" series.
Junie by Erin Crosby Eckstine
Sixteen years old and enslaved since she was born, Junie has spent her life on Bellereine Plantation in Alabama, cooking and cleaning alongside her family, and tending to the white master’s daughter, Violet. Her daydreams are filled with poetry and faraway worlds, while she spends her nights roaming the forest, consumed with grief over the sudden death of her older sister, Minnie. When wealthy guests arrive from New Orleans, hinting at marriage for Violet and upending Junie’s life, she commits a desperate act that rouses Minnie’s spirit from the grave.

Did I Read the Books from My Spring TBR 2024?
It’s been a hard few months of the start of this year. It will be interesting to see how well I did end up doing with my Spring TBR. I feel like I was pretty scattered. Well I read 7 out of 10 which I think is pretty decent. Ash is a pretty thick book and our buddy read is going slow. I’m carrying it over onto Summer and seeing how that will go. I’m also carrying over The Grace of Wild Things.…

Top Ten Tuesday | Movies/TV Shows That Would Have Made Amazing Books
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is Movies/TV Shows That Would Have Made Amazing Books. Let me clarify – amazing books before they became shows/movies. Many of the shows and movies on…
