what's really up interesting here is that the communities themselves probably do have discourse like this, but the terms "vampire", "werewolf", and others are really identities for those that hunt them in the first place.
for example, my first thought was that a tray of garlic bread would sort out the vampires from the werewolves pretty easily. but that's so not a view from the inside community.
non-lycanthrope werewolves may have different needs than lycanthropic ones do. likewise, they probably have less in common with other forms of lycanthropy, eg wererats, than they do forms that they can shift to. so there is overlap, and in lots of different directions.
now im just imagining a group getting together and splitting up in different groups:
the lycanthropes will be meeting in the church to discuss forced transformation and the blood drinkers will be having a tasting at the clinic behind the church. afterwards, the wolf shifters will gather in the woods for pack bonding, while the vermin shifters will be having a rave at the dumpster in the alley. as always the playground is open to everyone
i just know the vampire and werewolf community exclusionist/inclusionist discourse is insane. some vampires who can shapeshift into wolves use "werewolf" as an umbrella term to mean any person that can shapeshift into a wolf. including lycanthropes and themselves. and then some werewolves are like "no, werewolf means lycanthrope. it has to be controlled by the moon" and then other more inclusionist werewolves are like "well actually im a classic lycanthrope, not a vampire, and i have control over my transformations, are you saying im not a werewolf?" and the exclusionists are like no but where do you draw the line! words mean things! are shapeshifters werewolves now?? just regular shapeshifters??? and the inclusionists are like "well yeah if a shapeshifter feels that they are part of the werewolf community and shapeshifting into wolves is a big part of their experience then why shouldnt they call themselves werewolves". so good.

Dean subconsciously plays more stepford-wife-in-the-kitchen-with-bacon-sizzling-in-the-pan when Cas stays in the bunker. Lunch? Making some burgers wearing my fancy apron, my angel. Afternoon snack? Oh let me put together some nachos and Dean Winchester Special dip. Midnight cravings? Here's a 5 course meal with pretentious names, now will you fold me like a lawn chair???

Fic idea: Post break-up, Blitz decides to take Verosika's advice and give his relationship with Stolas some time and space. Stolas can explore the world beyond just Stella, Blitz, and his oppressive circle of royalty and Goetias, while Blitz needs to work on himself before he can win Stolas back.
But as we've seen at the end of Apology Tour, that man is possessive and jealous, and I don't think he can keep his nose out of it. So he stalks Stolas as he goes out, roping Millie and Moxxie along under the guise of a mission like Loo Loo Land again. He is covertly protecting Stolas from creeps and assholes as he goes out to the bar, or goes clubbing and raving, shooting any motherfucker that hold a smidgen of bad intentions, doing extensive background checks on anyone hitting on Stolas then disposing of them if he deems them sketchy. He fumes in jealousy as he watches Stolas have fun with new people, maybe kiss one or two, but he never interjects, just hiding in the shadow making sure he is safe and happy.

The subtle jabs at cops in a show where one of the mains is a cop are just so funny to me "did you do your job and check your other clues yet" "it's rare to see cops working so hard" Khun Mor Sammon stays on her ACAB agenda nevertheless

Takes on the narrative significance of Lao getting fused with Luxaar to become the OG version's final boss, go!
Ooo baby I've been waiting for someone to ask me about the final boss!
To be honest though, while yes Luxaar is the catalyst that causes the fusion (something something samaarians are the worst and made literal slave species and then made them explode when in contact with samaarian DNA it's poorly explained and I love it), what's more important to the conversation surrounding Lao here is the fact it is a giant vat of human DNA that is the subsequent catalyst along with his human mind. It's very biblical in a sense. It is a completeness of body (Luxaar), mind (Lao), and soul (the indomitable human spirit of survival or whatever crap the undertale people are on) (I've never played undertale I'm so sorry I'm sure it's great but I was on tumblr when it came out and saw all my fav persona blogs become undertale blogs overnight and it turned me off of that) (no this is not an invitation to find my old blog though ngl it shouldn't be hard if someone wants to).
So when talking about the significance of Lao and Luxaar fusing, I do think mentioning the human DNA is a very important thing. It's what Luxaar fears. It's what Lao has grown to hate. But it is a thing of pure love for life and survival. Even after the fusion, Lao says he finally understands, that there was something within the spirit of humanity that can't be burnt out even if their bodies have been destroyed. And perhaps that it wasn't even the bodies that Luxaar should have feared, but instead the spirit that humanity held.
To Luxaar in specific this was a self fulfilling prophecy. Had he never chased down Earth and fought against the Ghosts there (which knowing what we know now about the Ghosts actually makes no sense but hey I didn't like chapter 13 and I think it makes a mockery out of every interesting facet of the OG game's ending also Al is my personal enemy) because of his fear of humanity, he'd have likely never come into contact with humans, and thus never died in the way he ultimately feared above all else. He did this to himself.
And in a way, Lao did it to himself too. But he's aware of that fact. I think deep down he never actually expected his betrayal to go unnoticed. I don't think he ever expected that humanity would fall. It was his desire, but he also knew how resilient humanity was, and he even had some sympathetic tendencies (like when he tried to stop Lin from going into the ambush he set up in Sylvalum). And in sacrificing himself, he really did do it to himself it the same poetic way.
Both Lao and Luxaar are victims to their own egos, but the DNA washes that away. It's no longer about Lao and Luxaar's individual faults, their egos. They are reduced to their primitive essences at the end. For as much shit as I'll give Sigmund Freud, I do think his theories of the id, ego, and superego are applicable here in a way someone who actually studied philosophy could probably explain better than I (someone who studied creative writing and game theory) could. The resilience and survival of the human DNA is what is truly the final boss puppeteering the two who thought they were in control around. Because at the end of the day, we're all our base instincts.
Goetia called us primitive. And she was right. But that is not a bad thing. It's poetic that we are primitive. It is that which makes us human. Not our bodies, not our souls, but our will to survive and persist no matter the odds that are stacked against us. And in that way, I think it proves that Luxaar is just as human as the people he feared.
