Psalm 37 is a great chapter, it's all about patience and trust.

Being persecuted by some people who want to see you hurt? You look around and see all the 'evil' people "succeeding" and being rewarded with all the "nice" things life has to offer? Meanwhile, you're there and have practically "nothing"?

God says that's not your problem, you have your focus and it's as simple as being patient and trusting that in the end, somehow, it'll work out. That's why his yoke is easy (Matthew 11:28-30).

Psalms 37:13, 34-36 NLT

[13] But the Lord just laughs, for he sees their day of judgment coming.

[34] Put your hope in the Lord. Travel steadily along his path. He will honor you by giving you the land. You will see the wicked destroyed. [35] I have seen wicked and ruthless people flourishing like a tree in its native soil. [36] But when I looked again, they were gone! Though I searched for them, I could not find them!

The word steadily really stood out to me here, it's definition is this:

in a regular and even manner, without change; continuously.

in a controlled or unwavering manner.

No matter what we're facing in this life, any trial or tribulation, any period of persecution, even if we're in a period of life where we're very much like Job who was stripped of everything, we are called to walk with him through it all steadily.

We are called to walk with him on a regular basis, continuously, without change in our faith based on our circumstances we are to walk with him in a controlled unwavering manner.

My dear brothers and sisters, no matter what we're facing in this life always remember to walk with him with a steadfast kind of love.

I love you my brothers and sisters, but always remember, there is no love like the love of Jesus Christ, Amen 🤍

Me when i have to decide between making fanart, analyzing manga, writing fanfics, working on uni assignments, studying for my classes, cooking healthy meals, reading a classic, watching new shows, studying spanish, cleaning the house, attempting to socialize w ppl, getting my motorbike license updated, ect ect

even the small actions matter...

✧ movement: move around your stuck energy! do a yoga video, dance around, walk through the forest or your neighborhood.

✧ change your environment: go to a different room in your house, go outside, change the lighting in your room.

✧ change your clothes: something you feel comfortable in! it changes your whole vibe and brings a new energy to your day.

✧ check in physically: have you eaten? have you drank water? are you feeling anything physically that needs to be addressed?

✧ do something on your to-do list: task completion releases happy hormones in your brain. get ahead on laundry or schoolwork. make any phone calls or emails you've been putting off.

✧ do something momentous: get out of your comfort zone and do something you've always wanted to do!

Saw someone complaining about the word "impactful" and like. Yeah. It is a grant application word. "Thought-provoking" - also a grant application word. There's been a really interesting rhetorical slippage over the last several years between the descriptive language applied to literary production by critics/reviewers/etc. and the language of humanities-related nonprofits and/or grant application writing. I think because a lot of people have to occupy both professional niches simultaneously. This certainly holds if they're at all involved with academia. The bookstore--which was trying to become a 501(c)(3) when I got fired--felt at times like a crucible for that sort of linguistic wire-crossing, but I think it is a mixing of registers that could be parodied or pressed into something experimental or pushed to the point of absurdism like Soviet authors did with kantselyarit. I think maybe there's a self-consciousness about one's own ego-syntonic alignment with the NGO/academic-admin/grant-app professional sphere, also, if one has a strong attachment to the idea of oneself as a Writer or Critic or Public Intellectual? Or a preference for pared-down realism over other styles that might stymie Platonov-esque play with this type of language? Why am I writing this post. I am just thinking out loud I don't actually have any, like, trenchant insights here lol

James, Stephanie, and Rowan did a lil bible study then watched a church service on tv. Austin wasn’t really involved as he has a rocky relationship right now with god/his beliefs. Later, they got ready for church. ⛪️

guys I stayed up to watch Doctor who and I have thoughts

SPOILERS FOR THE FINALE, EMPIRE OF DEATH

SO MANY OF THEM ARE RELAYED TO THE PARALLELS TO ROSE, it's so many I'm going to miss a few definitely, but just a few:

- The finale having the line "We bring life" I immediately thought of Bad Wolf for starters

- Oh and having every episode have a face/phrase somewhere leading them to this finale, where the companion helps bring life to the universe using the tardis? yeah okay let's pretend that didn't already happen s1

- The "Will I ever see you again?" whilst in tears?? I had flashbacks to the beach. I had to physically pause the episode

- Ruby after hearing the doctor say "Of course I'll see you again" saying "your own granddaughter, you left her" is so similar to Rose comparing herself to Sarah Jane saying "But, Sarah Jane- you were that close to her once"

- And most importantly, RUBY SAY I LOVE YOU TO THE DOCTOR, THE DOCTOR DIDNT SAY IT BACK, AND AS SOON AS RUBY COULDNT SEE HIM ANYMORE, TEARS WERE FALLING DOWN HIS FACE, AND HE WAITED A MOMENT, BEFORE TURNING ON THE TARDIS AND FLYING AWAY

I'm actually going to lose it. First Ruby is a blonde northern working class companion, 19 years old, with a name that begins with R, is 4 letters long and is a shade of red. Then Ruby also happens to be without a parent/dad, and contemplates asking the doctor to go back in time to meet said parent.

NOW ALL THIS?!?! either I'm delusional, or this is Rose 2.0, except there's no romance with the doctor
