Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

actually no i need to talk about the green witch arc. ciel and his band of merry fools go to germany and learn that this forest is haunted by WEREWOLVES and in it is a village full of WITCHES with cursed amulets and potions and whatever

and the immediate vibe is "lol what a bunch of bogus" which is really just batshit coming from the kid with a demon butler

and then woah big reveal! it wasn't werewolves or witches it was a covert military operation REPLETE with radar tracking (not a thing until wwii) and electronic displays (most likely crt screens, which again weren't fully developed until the 1930s) and TANKS. for reference the first "tank" was put together by a guy in 1899 who mounted a machine gun to THIS

absolute paragon of engineering. the panzer (the exact model of tank in the arc) was not a thing until wwi.

and. and ciel and ESPECIALLY the Demon Butler in question are like. ohhhh yeah that makes more sense. the amulets were just transmitting our exact locations through technology that won't exist for another three decades. whew glad we sorted that one out. man wouldn't it have been CRAZY if it really was werewolves.

Okay but does Peri KNOW that Dev has a robotic leg when he shows up? Something about the fact that Peri's wand is a cane and the fact that Dev could have kept his leg and just had a cane for the rest of his life instead tickles my brain.

I mean he doesn't know immediately, he wasn't like briefed or anything, but he basically lives in Dev's house so he definitely finds out. Peri doesn't comment on or react to it all though really, there's no reason for him to think anything of it, plenty of people have missing limbs, a lot of people are born without them, it doesn't necessarily mean anything sinister happened. He had no reason to pry or ask and I think Peri's lack of reaction to it helped Dev feel a bit more comfortable in his skin. (Not by much but.. a little bit.)

As achievements of human intelligence and technology. But considering ants have all of these same adaptations maybe they are a function of massive cooperative populations, rather than intelligence.

I was thinking about "Princess-coded" characters, and by extension Aelita. And I'm thinking Franz/Waldo almost kinda made his daughter a god?

At least the potential is there.

We don't really see Aelita do anything that crazy with the super computer, but Aelita is one of the few beings who can theoretically make full use of the computer.

And the things we do see the computer do are wild. Turn off gravity and heat on earth, and of course return to the past for example. The supercomputer literally gives someone the power to play god. If someone with malicious intent got full control of the computer the results would be devastating. And Aelita technically has that power.

If Lyoko was written a bit less episodically and with more of an interest in examining the implications of its worldbuilding I think there could be room fro a story about what it means to be human/transcending humanity. A story where in Waldo's desperation to save his daughter he literally deifies her, chains her to the fate of reality itself and the implications thereof. Don't get me wrong I enjoy it as is, but stuff like this is why I keep thinking about this show. Granted Aelita's storyline already does touch on aspects of this with Aelita not considering herself human and her horror at what her father did to her life at points. And well, of course the only reason Aelita IS involved in all of this is because of her father.

Garage kids had the kids retain their Lyoko powers in their day to day life, and while I think understand WHY they changed that, from a worldbuilding perspective there is no real reason they don't. After all the super computer already gives them the ability to remember rttp and a resistance to Xanas influence. Irl powers really isn't far out of the realm of possibility. An Aelita with Creation in her day to day life would not be something to be trifled with.

On a totally unrelated note, we know how easy it was for Aelita's very life to become entangled with the computer itself, dying if anything happened to the computer. And with the computers influence on the world, how easy would it have been for the whole world's existence to have become entangled with the computers continued existence.

Okay so I have a idea

After the defeat of pariah dark Danny doesn't have to be ghost king (maybe someone else takes the position or maybe they just get rid of the position)instead he becomes The mayor of a city

I think we will call it Infinty City, and it becomes what is considered the capital of the Infinte realms

Since theirs billions of ghost living there how is their no fighting?

Well, Infinty City is what's known as a city haunt. Each ghost has a smaller haunt while Infinty City is no one's haunt, but at the same time, everyones

There's almost everything you can do in the city

There is a currency(though I don't know what), and a lot of the ghosts living there have jobs

I also like to imagine there's not just ghost living there their is also different species (Fae,Demons,etc)

If your looking for something you'll most certainly find it there

Alot of magic users go there for that reason

Infinty City is somewhat alive, not sure how alive though

You were in your small home by the shore of the town you lived in, working on drafting another letter. Shanks and the Red Haired Pirates had been out to sea for about a month or two, and you'd been trying to write to him as much as possible. Sure calling was technically an option, but there was something classically romantic about a handwritten letter. Not much had happened this week, so you were trying to think of what to fill the page with. You wanted him to know how much you missed him, but would it be too much to start spilling poetry? ...Yeah, probably, you figured. The quill you held tapped on the parchment, ink forming a small spot on the paper. Before you could try to write another line, you saw something out your window. Out on the shore, a ship was heading in.

You dropped your quill, recognizing the symbol on their flag immediately. You swiped your parchment away, standing up and bolting to the door. You slid your shoes on before making it onto the beach, trying to avoid the hot sand that had been baking in the sun. You had to be a little careful since sand is very slippery and hard to run on, but by the time you made it, the ship had docked, and some of the crew members were stepping off. The second you saw the black jacket with a high pointed collar that you knew so well, you felt your heart feel light. "Shanks!" you called out, sprinting towards him. The captain turned around, giving you a smile that grew when seeing you coming. "Wait, wait, honey, I've got a-" he began, but was cut off by your momentum when you grabbed him in a huge hug.

Shanks let out a deep grunt, and you pulled back almost just as quickly as you'd latched on. "Oh-! Sorry, I just-" you cleared your throat "What were you going to say?". Shanks stood more upright, gesturing to the bandages around his abdomen "A cut" he said hoarsely "I got a cut". "Ah-! What happened!?" You asked, hands on his torso to try and inspect it. He chuckled, using the one hand he had to hold one of your wrists. He lifted it up, kissing the inside of your wrist "Don't worry about it, love, I'm fine. It should heal soon". "That didn't answer my question" you pointed out, and Shanks gave you a little grin "Just a run-in with an old foe, nothing I haven't had happen before"

"I wish you'd be more careful" you responded with a frown, and Shanks kissed the tip of your nose in reply "You worry so much. Take a break with me, why don't you?". "Why, so you can drink more?" You asked teasingly. Shanks gave a full laugh, wrapping his arm around you "You know me well. But, if you don't want that..." he trailed off, glancing at you. "How about we go back to my place first?" You asked, cupping his cheek "It's been a while since I've been able to talk to you". "Perfect then" Shanks said, leaning into your touch "Lead the way"

After some chatting with his crew, Shanks let you guide him to the home you both knew well. When he stepped inside, you helped him take his coat off so he could walk to the couch. He sat with a heavy flop, and you were quick to be by his side. He held you close with his arm, nuzzling his nose into the top of your head "Mmh... damn I missed you". "Me too" you said, gently wrapping your arms around his waist "I was just about to send you another letter". "You're so sweet, love" Shanks replied, hugging you a little tighter.

"Did you eat anything recently?" You asked him "It's just about dinner time, I can make us something if you'd like". "I haven't, but we can cook together in a minute" Shanks said, his forehead pressing against the back of your neck. He planted a small kiss there before resting his chin on your shoulder. "Fine, fine" you said, leaning back into his chest "Just five more minutes"

While I'm sure for all the obvious reasons magic for sure doesn't exist in this world, esp since they reflavored the magical classes to have no magic, I do think it'd be so fucking hilarious if they revealed that magic is real actually but only as a curse on maxwell, there's no other magic actually
