PLATONIC FOS PERSONALITY TYPES AND HOW THEY INTERACT WITH MINE

INFP X INTP

INTPs and INFPs have a shared love of freedom, exploration, and autonomy. INTPs prefer thinking over feeling so they may come across as overly blunt to INFPs, and INFPs may come across as overly-sensitive to INTPs. However, once they get to understand each other there’s usually a very strong bond and mutual appreciation. Both respect each other’s space to feel and think what they want and both have a creative energy that is inspiring to the other.

INFP X ESFP

These two types tend to click because they have a shared passion for authenticity and adventure. ESFPs can help break INFPs out of their shell and introduce them to a variety of exciting experiences. Their enthusiasm and fun-loving nature is often endearing to INFPs. In turn, INFPs can help ESFPs to tap into their emotions more fully and experience life with more depth and imagination. These types tend to bounce ideas and possibilities off each other well, with the ESFP wanting to immediately take action on ideas and the INFP going along for the ride and frequently enjoying the thrill!

INFP X ISTP

These types are very different in many ways, but they tend to click once they get a chance to understand each other. Both ISTPs and INFPs are extremely independent types; they don’t like to be pushed around by other people’s agendas or rules. They both have a fairly live-and-let-live perspective, unless (for INFPs) their values are violated in some way or (for ISTPs) they see someone impeding on their space or harming others with faulty logic. ISTPs can bring a little adventure and practicality into the INFP life and INFPs can bring some imagination and emotional affirmation to the ISTP. These types can clash because they literally share none of the same cognitive functions and they also have preferences in the opposite order (ISTPs are thinkers first/feelers last, INFPs are feelers first/thinkers last). But if these two types can take time to understand each other, their friendship or relationship can be a catalyst for a great deal of personal growth.

INFP X ISFP

ISFPs and INFPs tend to have a really strong and powerful connection almost immediately. They both are dominant introverted feeling types, so they naturally give each other space to be themselves. They are both idealistic and visionary, with ISFPs having a more down-to-earth, pragmatic bent while INFPs are more focused on imagination and conceptualization. Together they can broaden each other’s worlds and help each other to have more open-minded, balanced perspectives.

INFP X ENFP

ENFPs and INFPs tend to have really close, trusting bonds. Because these types share the same cognitive functions, they tend to innately “get” each other without as much trouble as many other type pairings. INFPs enjoy the fun-loving, enthusiastic nature of ENFPs. Adventurous ENFPs can help them get out of their heads and build up the courage to try new, spontaneous pursuits. ENFPs in turn appreciate the depth and gentleness of the INFP personality type.

INFP X INFJ

INFJs and INFPs share a mutual love of meaningful, deep conversation. These types tend to thrive as friends when they give each other space to be their authentic selves. While they share none of the same cognitive functions, because they share three preferences (Introversion, Intuition, Feeling) they tend to respect each other’s individual needs, empathize readily, and connect over ideas and possibilities.

INFP X ESTP

Opposites in many respects, ESTPs and INFPs can definitely help each other grow, but they will also push each other beyond their natural comfort-zones. This isn’t typically a “comfortable” relationship, but it can evolve into that if both types share mutual respect and have common values. ESTPs can help INFPs to experience the tangible world in a vivid and immersive way. INFPs can help ESTPs to understand a deeper more emotionally authentic side of themselves.

INFP X ENTJ

ENTJs and INFPs are very different at first glance, but these two types can really help each other grow. INFPs are often inspired by the big-picture, strategic, action-oriented nature of the ENTJ. ENTJs in turn find the warmth, authenticity, and imagination of the INFP intriguing. They can both help each other in contrasting ways. ENTJs can help INFPs bring their ideas to life and tap into their thinking side. They can also help them refine their ideas and create strategies for their realization. INFPs, in turn, can help ENTJs delve into their deeper feelings and values. They can also help them to see innovative alternatives and possibilities so they don’t get stuck in tunnel vision.

For these two I have been thinking (laughing manically) of them meeting for the first time in Hogwarts. The two of them kinda knew each other from Camp Half Blood as Howl was a son of Aphrodite and Merope was one of the unclaimed kids. She already cultivated a reputation as a friendly if not weirdly macabre quiet kid.

I've mainly imagined her doing something violent before seeing a familiar face and running up to Howl's horror struck form as he wonders which God cursed him.

Howls Moving Castle Wip

Hello! Thank you everyone who participated in the poll, it was a lot of fun to see what stories of mine people were more interested in learning about than others. Of the ones in the poll, Howl's moving Castle seems to have won.

Not going to lie, I'm a little surprised at that.

I'm going to take the main structure and story from the movie while adding bits from the book. So like in the book Howl will be from our world but will have moved to Ingary.

He was originally from Wales and is a son of Aphrodite with a natural talent for magic. Howl and Merope met at Camp Half blood, with Merope being Howl's first magic teacher. He left their world during the second titan war (I'm thinking just before the Battle of Manhattan) but the two stayed in touch.

Due to Ingary having naturally higher levers of magic than Merope’s own world, she often gets light headed.

So, with that out the way - on to the story.

Merope decided to take a holiday from the BPRD and Howl, being the friend that he is, offers her to stay in his place. She accepts because the time difference between the two worlds is a couple of months ( so like basically its a longer holiday for her).

Thus getting involved in the with the main story. I have a few scenes already planned out, such as:

Going to the parade with Howl, only for him to ditch her when she wasn't looking. Instead of getting all mopey she goes to a café, taking in all the Victorian/ Edwardian magic aesthetic so different from her world and almost spitting out her drink when she see Howl with Sophie in the air.

Merope arguing with Califer about how he is now letting Sophie use him to cook and the unfairness of it.

As the Castle is moving to Star Lake Merope on some ladders, taking deep breaths and feeling the wind in her hair and the high magic in the air.

Merope was trying to rearrange all the beauty charms/ wards in the bathroom after Sophie tidied them away but Howl pissed her off so she so decided to leave it as it is. This is what allowed Howl’s hair to be ginger and Merope has no regrets about it.

My favourite scene so far has to be When Merope, Howl and Sophie are escaping the palace soldiers while on the air-crafts. That is the one that I've got the most for so far, however most of it is dialogue.

I really want to build upon the Relationship between Howl and Merope in this as well as the themes already set in place.

Like I said before, I plan for the two to have known each other for a long time with Merope being the first one to take Howl's natural talent for magic seriously, while Howl being one of her only friends at Camp Half Blood.

💫 / Dizzy Star : Does your F/O have a lot of energy at night, or do they just want to curl up and rest under the stars?

He's an insomniac, so its not that abnormal for him to be up during the night. He mainly just watches tv or watches me as I work on something if I'm up too.

🌙 / Crescent : How has your relationship changed over time? (Because of moon phases! :3)

Hmm their relationship went from fellow campers/ near strangers to fellow Hogwarts students to mentor / mentee to lastly being friends.

🛸 / UFO : Do either of you believe in aliens? Would you keep a look out for ufos?

Yes but in a "I'm not too bothered but they probably exist" type of way. I imagine that she liked to watch a lot of cheaply made UFO documentaries on her down time.

I've always liked how dramatic he is, how vivacious Howl naturally is. He's the life of where ever he is.

Simba and Nala: How long have you and your f/o been friends?

We've been friends since we were early to mid teens, meeting at camp half blood and being stuck- at first - in the Hermes cabin. Howl was only in there for a short time before he was claimed but our friendship remained, becoming stronger when he went to me to learn magic. We met again at Hogwarts not long after.

Robin Hood and Maid Marian: How do you remind each other that you love each other?

........ does arguing count? I feel like it should when it comes to us. We argue with each other because we care for one another. Why wouldn't we if we didn't?

Donald and Daisy: How do you calm each other down?

Howl turns into slime and goes into a self pitying mood. When he's like this, what he needs is hard love and a shower. Someone who will say a kind word or two but shove him into a shower. When I'm down I generally just need some time alone to decompress so Howl shoos people away from me.

4 - How likely (out of 10) are they to show up at your house in the middle of the night demanding that you both run away from home to go on an adventure (or just to get food)?

Like a three, Howl loves his beauty sleep too much to show up somewhere in the middle of the night at the hobbit hole. Not to say that it hasn’t happened but it’s as rare as a blue moon. 

11 - Do they enjoy snowball fights?

no, he says it messes up his hair. Doesn’t stop me from aiming snow balls at him, he always gets me back though. On the rare occasion that he has a “bad hair day” (lets be honest, this is Howl, how often does this happen?) he is more forgiving and more likely to enjoy the snowball fight. 

17 - Between you and your platonic f/o, who comes up with the hair-brained scheme, and who has to bail the other one out of trouble when it all goes south?

Howl. Not to say that I haven't had my own hare-brained ideas but back when we were both in True Cross Academy Howl was almost legendary for his schemes and tricks. Let me tell you this, if I had a nickel for every time I’ve had to teleport him away from a teacher or boyfriend of the latest girl he seduced/ flirted with that planned to “teach him a lesson” I would be a very rich lady.

Opal: In your selfship, which one of you is more of the leader? How good are you and your F/O at taking charge?

Jack likes to take charge when we’re together. He likes to play tricks and pranks on people while I help by working out how to do them. 

With Nico I think its split between each other, maybe Nico if I’m being honest but not by much. 

When he were younger Howl was more of the leader between us but now days it’s split.

Jasper: How do you and your F/O help each other if one of you gets ill?

Both me and Nico are stubborn when we’re sick- so it becomes a bit of a game to catch each other out when we’re sick. But when I’m ill Nico will go get me a milkshake, sit with me and watch a movie. Poor Nicky gets stuck in a perpetual loop of Labyrinth, Disney's Dinosaur, Still Game, and an endless list of Disney musicals. Sometimes even sick days can be fun.

Jack doesn't really get sick cus he’s a spirt but he can overheat if he spends too much time in a warn climate. When this happens I have to take them to somewhere colder and just stay with him for a while. Its quite I sight to see or so I’ve heard; just one frost spirt laying face down in the snow, trying to cool off and me, head to toe in black and red velvet, scarfs loosely wrapped around my neck and bottom half of my face with only my nose and fogged up glasses visible under my hood- I look like a vampire marshmallow

Howl is a big baby when he’s ill so I have to do everything when he’s sick. When I’m sick though I’m lucky if Howl stays in the same room as he with out gloves and a mask on. To be fair he does brew me Health potion.  

Agate: What is your favourite way to relax with your F/O? Conversely, how do you and your F/O like to have fun?

Nico and I like to watch movies together. He’s pretty up to date on the modern world now but we still like to sit down and watch an old movie at the hobbit hole. Our favourite movie to watch right now is Coco

Me and Jack like to race each other, I just grab my staff and we pick a place and set a bet. Usually it’s “last to reach (insert place here) has to fly the other one home!” but we also bet on sweets and hot chocolate. 

We don’t get to see each other that often but when we do Howl and I like to shop together. He loves to spend hours upon hours shopping for the right cloths and I will drag him into “weird goth-shops” (aye Howls, I see right through you as you look at those blouses) but we always stop off at some book shops.
