Pantocyclus' speech and the death of the young god Color, and its unborn sibling Equality
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ID: a five panel comic showing characters from Flatland, who are all simple, black and white geometric shapes. Pantocyclus, a circle, is giving a speech. First he speaks to squares, pentagons, and equilateral triangles, saying, "You really want to degrade yourselves by giving Isosceles the same rights as you?" Then he turns to Isosceles triangles that are only a few degrees away from being equilateral, saying, "And you! You're almost ready to be welcomed into the class of Equilaterals! If not you, then your children! Do you really want to give that up so that those Criminals can have the same rights as you?" Then he turns to Straight Lines, and says, "If these Criminal scum are allowed the same rights as everyone else, you will never be safe again!". Finally he looks at many acute Isosceles triangles, saying, "I would rather die than ever seen one of your kind treated as my equal." The last panel shows the acute Isosceles cut in half by two straight lines, bleeding purple across the image as Pantocyclus says, "Fortunately, your deaths will serve the same purpose." End ID.]

For Mexico's Independence Day, the Monumento a la Revolución in Mexico City

Tumblr media
September 16 is Independence Day in Mexico, and visitors here in Mexico City can expect fireworks, fiestas, and décor in the colors of the Mexican flag—red, white, and green. In Mexico City, Independence Day festivities begin with a reenactment of the ‘Grito de Dolores’ (Cry of Dolores), an event in 1810 when priest Miguel Hidalgo rang the bell of his church and called for a revolt from Spain. Each year, on the eve of Independence Day, Mexico’s president rings the same bell that Hidalgo rang and delivers a patriotic speech at the National Palace.

I already draw some of my trolls with chitin plating, but I came across @archadoodle's style and I absolutely had to see how it would look on my plated trolls! Given the headcanons for the particular timeline, it only works on the older adults, but that still works out just fine. I enjoyed drawing it like this actually, and I like the nose style a lot better than the more complicated noses that i struggle drawing.
Anyway here's Volt, with his blood color scandalously on display thanks to the plating.

that is one tragedy with a square and you see this today in a lot of alpha dudebros who lament they arent allowed to be sensitive and thinks thats bad but fail to see that as like a problem with the system. A Square thinks colors are neat and that it would make the world perhaps better but he's been chugging so much propaganda that he puts his own feelings on the matter aside to just spew whatever the circularchy wants him to spew. its sad in a way. In a more free society perhaps he wouldnt be a lawyer, maybe he'd be a painter. Circularchy like the patriarchy hurts everyone even if they dont want to admit it.
Yep!! And that was the tragedy of the defeat of the Color Revolt in the first place -- the higher classes were convinced that the hardships they face under the Circularchy is less bad than what would happen if they all had equal rights.
Their hatred of everyone lower than them on the social ladder was weaponized into convincing them to harm themselves, as long as it means they hurt the people below them even more. All because they'd rather keep kicking the people below them on the ladder rather than getting rid of it entirely.

“Dragon Breath” (2023), oil on canvas, 30 x 30 inches
(grabbed this info from the link)
Below, I went overboard describing this image in the previous post. (Because when I was editing, I hadn't noticed there was alt text with a much briefer description. Uh, enjoy the flavor text?)
[IMAGE DESCRIPTION] The image is a painting of six vibrantly-colored dragon fruits (pitaya), 4 of which are red and 2 which are yellow. The dragon fruits also share the bowl with 2 orange horned melons(?) and 2 kiwifruit. All these fruits are placed in a porcelain bowl, which appears blue with a red dragon painted on its glaze.
Each fruit shown also shows one example which is halved, so the viewer knows what the flesh looks like, such as the red dragon fruit with red flesh and tiny seeds, the yellow dragon fruit with its white flesh and many tiny black seeds, the green color the halved kiwi, and the many-seeded interior of the horned melon, whose seeds are larger than that of the dragon fruits.
Two orange horned melons lie on the table beside the bowl, one appearing whole and the other halved. Countless green-colored horned melon seeds are scattered on the table, surrounding the bowl.
In the background, one can see the pattern of a large dark blue tapestry depicting a yellow two-horned, five-clawed, heavenly Chinese dragon surrounded by clouds. The fruits are painted as if practically glowing, compared to the tapestry behind them. The contrast is somewhat garish, yet also deeply tantalizing, giving the fruit a delectable, jewel-like luster.
