DREAM LAND AU: The Haltmann's
Sorry I got delayed with this references!
But here is the 'Haltmann's reference', with the exception of Maria of course, and I finally had the chance to show the full design of Metal as the Star Dream!
Sage here is no an alien or human but s robotic IA and in some way Haltmann (Eggman) daughter. Also the Star dream originally looked more like the OG one but after they captured Meta Sonic the machine got invested in the hedgehog and tried to Mimic him naively trying to find the source of his resistance).
Also the Star Dream (Metal Sonic) is actually as high as the OG one but since I needed to show the details he looks tinnier that how he really is in the reference (he's much taller)
More info about Sage and Haltmann relationship under the cut:
Ya know what Happened with Gerald from Maria's backstory, the old man let Maria go with an star to Popstar only to never see her again. But that never changed his determination to create his own 'Comet Nova' in hopes of finding her one day (He didn't)
The Project Star Dream eventually passed to Gerald's Grandson, Ivo, when he passed. And having known basically nothing of his grandfather because of the old man's obsession with Maria, he went on a different route with the project. Eventually getting a success on creating the machine.
The thing is, Haltmann (That's how I'm going to call Eggman for short) did had a family and Sage was his biological daughter and successor (Don't ask who is the mother, I can't imagine an answer). And by the time he completed the Star Dreams Project she already was a child old enough to try to go to the lab with her father.
Remember what happened to Susie? It happened to Sage, the day the Star Dream had it first experiment the kid got inside of the lab and because of the machine she got sent to a different dimension.
And Trying to rescue Sage, Haltmann eventually lost his memories of her and with time he solely focused on the Project. Eventually one day Sage returns but even if for her just a moment passed for the rest of the world many years passed.
The worst part was that little girl returned not as one but as a kind of Robot and got classified as an useful IA by her own father who didn't remember her... And it was heartbreaking, even if she really didn't had a heart anymore.
It was then when Sage decided that one day, she might give a lesson to her own father and if it was possible to do so using his priced Star Dream it would be all the better.

Why I think Silver deserves to be in the fourth Sonic movie
So off the bat, I know some of you guys are going to disagree with me and that is perfectly fine. I know a lot of people have mixed opinions regarding Silver as a character, and I certainly have my own.
All I ask is that if you do have any disagreements or information I might be missing, that you convey them respectfully since we're talking about FICTIONAL characters---the world isn't gonna end if we think different about a floating psychokinetic hedgehog.
I think he should be in the next Sonic movie, but in order for my points to coalesce properly, there's other aspects of the topic I'd like to address first in hopes you guys will see where I am coming from.
Personally, on top of having his powers being freaking awesome, I think Silver is a good character and is rather underused in more recognized forms of Sonic media. Don't get me wrong, he was in Sonic 06 and could very well have other mediums he was in---but for the most part, I don't see him and it's as if the Sonic franchise forgets he exists.
Now, don't get me wrong---I understand why some people might have an aversion to Silver regarding his appearance in the Sonic 06 game. His boss battle is tough for utterly no reason, he believes Mephiles at the drop of a hat, and then became a (sometimes annoying) meme. But personally, I don't think this makes him a bad character--but rather he had a bad introduction and I'll explain what I mean.
Regarding his trust in Mephiles, I'd be one to agree that it was naive for him to do, but Knuckles the Echidna underwent similar situations with Eggman MULTIPLE times. Especially if we're talking about Sonic X, Knuckles is shown to have believed Dr. Eggman's lies and fight Sonic multiple times. So personally, I feel as though if you dislike Silver for believing Mephiles, you should have similar thought patterns toward Knuckles for doing similar stuff---if not more than Silver.
For me, I interpret Silver trusting Mephiles as desperation to save his world from destruction. Silver---like Sonic---is an adolescent boy who has the weight of the world on his shoulders and is doing the best he can with the information that is given to him.
I'm explaining all of this because I for one, can't exactly agree with the narrative that Silver is a villain or that he's plain stupid (as some---not all, but some---have argued). And even if I were to agree with the notion that Sonic 06 had the worst portrayal of Silver, I still wouldn't agree with the implication that because of his introduction in the game--that it means he doesn't deserve a redesign or rewrite to fit the movie (since that's what Jeff Fowler has done with other characters in the film already).
I think having Silver in the movie could reintroduce a new version of him and considering Jeff Fowler's obvious skills in bringing honor to the iconic characters, I don't see why Silver would be any different.
Some people think Silver wouldn't fit, but I disagree due to a pattern I noticed within the more recent Sonic films (including the end credit scene for the third one involving Shadow).
Granted, we don't know what the fourth movie is about (or at least I don't) so for all I know, Silver COULD not actually fit into the plot. But considering what we saw with the metal Sonics, I think he'd fit right in.
In the second movie, it gave Sonic two allies (Tails and later on Knuckles) and an enemy (Eggman). In the third movie, it gave Sonic two allies (who would later on be Shadow and Eggman) and an enemy (Gerald Robotnik). While sure, they definitely have their differences in how they manifested plotwise, there was still a pattern.
In the end credit scene of the third movie, it already shows us who the new enemy would be [metal sonic] and who the new ally would be [Amy Rose]. So Silver could very easily fit that role of being the second ally. And sure, the whole 'enemy turned friend' thing might be predictable or old for some people, but I don't think it's a case of lazy writing. I think it's more about the franchise showing who Sonic truly is as a character and how at his core, he wants to help people.
In the case of Silver, I think that could work very well. And it's not like Jeff has it happen the exact same way each time. Heck, even if they were to make him an ally for Sonic off the bat without them being enemies first, I believe it could still very much work.
Once again, the fourth movie hasn't even released and so not many of us (at least not me) know know what the plot for it will be. But, if possible (and that's a big if), I think Silver deserves a shot at redemption by being in the fourth Sonic movie.

[Review] Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric (Wii U)
A mess but still underrated.
It's no secret that the development of Rise of Lyric was kind of a mess. The first game released by Big Red Button, an American studio founded by ex-Naughty Dog devs, it went through a few iterations before Sega required it to be released on the Wii U as part of an exclusivity deal. This caused problems for the engine which was not designed for the less powerful hardware, and it shows in persistent performance problems. This combined with an infamously large post-release patch led to the game acquiring an odious reputation in general and particularly among 3D Sonic games, which already have a spotty track record.
Knowing all this, I actually had a good time with this game. It has its strengths and you don't have to dig too hard to find them. The textures may be low-res but it has strong art direction. The slower-paced gameplay with exploration, combat, and puzzle-platforming sections is something I prefer over the usual 3D Sonic style. It's a forgiving co-op adventure set in a sub-universe that I've quickly come to love (mostly thanks to the silly and easy-going TV show). In short, its poor reception is a bit overblown.
The Sonic Boom subseries launched with this game, a 3DS game, a toyline, and a TV show. Archie Comics ran a short spinoff set in this world and another 3DS game followed, as well as a throwaway Hardlight mobile runner game. So far, I think the show is the strongest work: it's a short-form comedy adventure episodic series with emphasis on the funny, and it consistently hits the mark as far as I've seen. (It also struck me as oddly similar to the Donkey Kong Country animated series with its tropical island setting, flamboyant and ineffective villain, and being a French coproduction.) The comic didn't quite nail the tone—aside from the issues written by the show’s writers—and was interrupted by financially-disastrous crossover event shenanigans, and as for this game, well I'll get to that.
Along with refreshing the setting, Sonic Boom reframes its main characters in ways that I appreciate: they work well as comedy characters, with redesigns that better get across their personalities. Sonic has blue arms as he should and a nifty scarf, Amy has a practical tunic and a personality beyond “loves Sonic”, Tails is given goggles and pouches, and Knuckles is now actually big and brawny. New to the main cast is Sticks, an oddball wild child-type character with a raspy voice. She has a great design and works well as an agent of chaos, although some of her "paranoid" humour falls flat for me.
Now that Boom has been cut off as a failed spinoff, Sticks is the biggest loss. She showed up in Runners and the Rio Olympics game and that's it. Also, she's barely in this game! Her role is simply as an NPC who sends you to find collectibles, and she has only a couple of voice lines. It's a real shame, and another symptom of the game's troubled development. As for the rest of the cast, Boom has a lot of fun new side characters, some of whom appear briefly in this, but RoL also includes Metal Sonic and Shadow, who are only in a couple of episodes of the show. Their roles in this game are pretty underwhelming, only showing up for boss fights and then getting forgotten about.
The main new face here is Lyric, a snake cyborg guy who has been imprisoned for a thousand years. The game starts with a few gags to make you think it's still a comedy but when this guy shows up they pretty much drop all that, and in tone the game becomes a pretty bland action story (although I did like the very brief time travel arc). Naturally he teams up with Eggman for a bit before they betray each other, and his army of very shiny robots forms the goon squad that you spend the whole game smashing to bits. The story seems to have been another casualty during development, with none of the show's writers involved and meddling by Sega combined with content cuts leading to a bland and rushed plot despite some clear ambitions.
The four playable characters can be swapped between at any time, as long as they're present in the story (the game frequently separates them into pairs). They largely play the same but also have unique abilities, and get tasked with specific segments tailored to their skills (often in 2D). For example, Knuckles can climb walls while Amy can swing and walk on balance beams. When given the choice I often favoured Amy for her mid-air triple-jump or Tails for his ranged combat utility. Another central mechanic is the Enerbeam, a laser grapple that can throw robots around or let you swing or ride rails. When playing in 2P co-op, one player uses the TV while the other has their own screen on the Gamepad, which I'm always a fan of. Up to four players can compete or collaborate in the specific multiplayer modes which seem kinda fun if you have willing participants.
The structure of the story mode has you returning to two hub zones between levels, where you can explore and do a scarce few NPC quests. The characters' slow movement speed works well for the levels but less so for these open zones. Here you can also spend scrap found in levels to rebuild landmarks, a nice but underused mechanic. In levels there's robot fights which feel a bit clumsy and there's sure a lot of them, and the occasional mediocre vehicle section. But this is a 3D Sonic game so there's also a lot of autorunning sections: the pace in these is so fast that you can barely react and the framerate absolutely tanks, but there's little penalty for mistakes and they're decent as flashy little setpieces with changing camera angles and such.
I have to talk about the collectibles and currencies in this game. There's scrap from beating robots and opening chests, which you use for buildings but also passive upgrades to your characters. Accumulating crowns unlocks new tiers of these upgrades. But there's also rings because this is a Sonic game. These act as a health system but you get tons of them so you rarely go beneath your cap. Why is there a cap? Well you only lose a few when you get hit. You can extend your cap by making progress in Shattered Crystal on 3DS and connecting your systems, which is very dumb and funny. But even at your cap you want to collect them because your cumulative total unlocks concept art and stuff. Also, doing sidequests unlocks selectable passive buffs which are mostly useless. The whole customisation and upgrading thing frankly needed some work, but it's a neat idea.
That's Rise of Lyric in a nutshell really. Sonic Boom is a breath of fresh air for the Sonic franchise, and the idea of this game as a change of pace for Sonic gameplay has potential. But as so often has been the case, Sega shoots themselves in the foot, development goes through hell, the games suffer as a result, and then no one is happy. I want to get across that I find the game inoffensive and a decent example of its genre, not totally deserving of the scorn it gets, but it could easily have been so much better and that is obvious for anyone to see. Oh well, maybe next time Sega launches a Western-focused multimedia Sonic spinoff it can get a tie-in game that gets the time and attention it deserves... you know, the next one after Prime which didn't even get a game at all!

Is it too late to have Sonic Prime ocs or uhh…
Because I’m still giving these dorks some love, especially Goggles and Pine
Goggles, Pine, and Vixen are different variants of Loner the Fox.
Goggles being a small resistance member who keeps her goggles for special needs like double checking and other random futuristic stuff, even though sometimes it’s optional for her to have the helmet on like all the others. If any platonic oc x canon relationships outside of any of the resistance I like to imagine that she used to have some trust issues towards our main bois(Sonic and Nine) but I like to imagine that she’s gotten over the hate towards them after the events of season 3. Unlike Loner, Goggles actually usually has a serious side but when it’s caught off guard she can be optimistic when it comes to worlds involved around nature or the old world
Pine’s casually just a most skittish version of Loner, she might be a scavenger, but I know like Thorn she’s kind of a nature girl… Well, except that for her there’s no sudden area overprotection going on, she’s just vibin’. I kind of wanna think of what kind of interaction she could have with Mangey but that would sadly be a diffy for me. As far as I know Pine just tends to hide in trees to avoid trouble, etc. There’s also a nickname of hers where she’s called “Piney Winey” but I’m not really sure who should actually call her that, Spikey perhaps?
Vixen is a pirate, a sneaky one obviously. Her crew is full of jerks, so she definitely has a habit of leaving the ship. I mean I do have some ideas that she could come back but maybe that’s somewhere in the near future of fanfiction, I don’t really know. Vixen can also swim pretty decently and every time she escapes the water, she’s like a flipping dolphin or something. She is the No Place variant of Loner
You can find info about Loner the Fox somewhere else on here or not. Now for Delca's alts
Target is the more naive and gloomier counterpart to Delca. I don’t really think she does anything than to be a background oc I guess, but at least she does join Goggles later on and starts a character arc. Her only background is that she grew up with a neglecting mother-figure(I said figure because canonically she was an orphan from the start) and is the only one who doesn’t’ know that she’s a reincarnated soul although she reads the stories
Spikey may be a rough and pointy little spike ball but she’s actually a little sweetie on the inside. I did plan her to be a scavenger once like most of them in that shatter space, but I might make up my mind later. She believes in reincarnation so it’s obvious that she knows
Sushi is just a sassy pirate version of Delca who was a part of the crew that Vixen was once a part of. Her teasing might even accidentally make someone leave the crew even though in reality she’s just trying to motivate people. Her old soul flashbacks don’t even concern her lol
More info about Delca is somewhere else
Other Facts
-Pine is the only Loner variant who is able to use her original powers, although she doesn’t use them but instead fights with a bow and spear(archer girl, yes)
-If Tails in my escape fanfic comforted Loner, would it be possible to one of his variants to motivate one of hers, if so who?
-Goggles had the most redesigns out of all of them
-I used to have Haven variants but they’re kind of scrapped because Sonic in the escape au had never met him as a whole
-Goggles does have a recent full reference but that’s only if anyone wants to draw her so I’m not throwing it here, sorry
-In the earliest designs Goggles had a metal tail and Target was completely a robot, I drastically changed them for a reason-

screw it, enough of this professional shit! ITS TIME TO TALK ABOUT MY SONIC AU
What originally what a shit-post au called "Size-swap"( which is.. exactly what the name entails) became something I really like and am having a super fun time with it. (Still a shit-post au though.)
I literally JUST made this about a day ago at 12:00 midnight so this is fresh as beans type stuff here folks.
So I'm calling is FusionSize Au, though SizeMixFusion or FusionSwap is also kind of cool (but its too long? I'd if you have any suggestions tell me!)
What type of au is this?
-It's a swap au! It takes two main components of a character which is their size and personality, and "fuses" it together!
Now, from there it gets complicated (I had to make a chart to do this) but size and personality are two different categories! So they can be swapped independently of each other.
Size swaps.. well it swaps a characters size. If a character's size is correlated to a specific power (think Metal Sonic's multiple forms) then the character that received that swap gets that power too! (And the former character looses that ability.)
For Personality FUSIONS (reason I say fusion is because I'm not "swapping out" their personalities. I actually fuse them together- creating a whole need persona. (the closest example would be a paint mixer. your not swapping paints. your putting them together and creating a new color.)
(P.S. If a character's ability is tied to their personality (i.e. techy character does tech, or fighter character is strong because they fight a lot- then that's when I give them that extra "power". I mostly use this for eggman or tails, since their personas involve that smart-kid-mechanic. Since the ability is tied to their persona, It can be fused with the new character! (stuff like this can't apply o other characters who don't really have a logical tie to their powers.)
if you're wondering, fusions (or what I call "mixes" for short) take character a's personality as a "core" and then mixes character b personality ontop of that. (like sprinkes.) I'm saying this so we all understand that character a's personality isn't "lost" rather there's just MORE to it. Though, I like to play with this as some personalities as depending on how much you mix in, you'll get some interesting results.
When swapping, I like to add rules such as:
-Antagonist swap first (So I don't go overboard, I have antag onists (note; antagonists NOT villains. ) swap/mix with their respective protagonist first.
-First come first serve (If character x's game came first, then chracter b must swap with them firs before going to character c. (mostly applies to characters with multiple antagonists.)
-Can only swap/mix once ( ex: sonic already mixed and swaped with 2 characters? but there's another antagonist that can swap with him? well too bad! Sonic can't swap/mix with that one. Go find another character to do that with.)
-had to meet or interact or be related (story wise) to some degree. (I'm not swapping Metal Sonic with the Biolizard.)
-Whatever works (sometimes a character has no antagonist or correlating character to start from. Those times call for the "throw it at the wall and hope it sticks" saying.)
-swap-swapping can happen only once. (In order to avoid having both a mix (personality fusion) and a swap (size-swap) be of a single character I just... took the og swap, and then.. swapped it again a second time. That's how you get a size-tails mix-eggman Sonic.)
is it overly complicated to a point that I may be the only one who understands how this works? yeah, probably. Though, I'm having fun so it don't matter to much.
Also, once I finish the swaps, I create new changed lore and backstory specific to this world. SO not only is he characters swapped (and re-designed!) but so is the world surrounding them!
also when it comes to redesigns, I factor both mixes and swaps. So things get hectic, but this feels like a videogame/puzzle just trying to solve and figure out everything (I really did have to make that little chart).
PS: my shit-post swap au "Size-swap" was just there so I could make a giant Shadow the hedgehog. It was such a funny concept, yet for some reason the extreme size of a character can seriously change how they interact and view the world???)

one of the things i've been thinking about while playing through frontiers again is that while the high concept idea behind it is indeed very obviously sega going 'breath of the wild has happened, please respond to it', the devs clearly understood that on a gameplay level they simply. could not actually do that outside the very basic concept of 'redesign this series to be broadly open world'. frontiers when you start it looks like sega's response to the genre-redefining success of BotW, and it draws a non-zero amount of conceptual and visual inspiration from it, but it doesn't play in any way like it, and that really helps it. because if it did draw too much of that gameplay loop, it would utterly fail. even the initial 'oh you have towers? like zelda? lol ok' impression doesn't really hold up; they ultimately have a totally different feel and are not at all a comparable part of the gameplay loop. the game looks like one pitched as 'give us our BotW', but it plays like the development then pointedly discarded a lot of the parts of that which, just, wouldn't be a good idea.
even the surface level aesthetic similarities ultimately wind up working better than expected simply because BotW was drawing on a very strong set of cultural influences which, by sheer luck, the sonic series has always had its fingers in. a lot has been made of the way the visual identity and vibe of BotW draws on early ghibli and its vast influence on what fantasy looks like in japanese pop culture; by good luck, early sonic also drew heavily on these concepts, not just visually but for their early lore, e.g. the laputa influence on S3&K. (so the whole 'flashbacks to a pre-apocalypse where a prior civilization fell' thing feels fully coherent within sonic lore, and not a random sudden ripoff added opportunistically.)
and then for actual mechanical influence, frontiers draws more heavily on shadow of the colossus and metal gear rising, i'd argue, than BotW. both of which it iterates on enough that while the 'many games taped together' feel is undeniable, it never feels like a straight ripoff. (and the story structure is also drawing on colossus in a way i think is under-remarked upon, actually. 'dawning realization you Should Not Be Destroying These as the protagonist is increasingly corrupted by defeating bosses' is 110% SotC, albeit expressed very differently in Frontiers' story.)
if there's one place i think the BotW influence negatively impacts the game, the overreliance on micro-puzzles feels like an attempt to incorporate BotW's puzzle dungeons, which were already one of the weakest parts of BotW, a game from a series which already has a history of incorporating puzzle dungeons. in Frontiers they often feel so inane and underbaked as to just be wasted time, honestly. they don't encourage exploration, imo, as much as they gatekeep a useful function for the way frontiers works in how they lock a map that lets you keep track of the islands as you explore behind really underthought busywork. frontiers doesn't have that same feeling of starting off with zero awareness of a vast varied landscape and gradually navigating it yourself that BotW nails when starting it from scratch; i think Frontiers would have massively benefited from maybe giving you the whole map in one go and like, having a few of those to reveal secrets, perhaps. (Final Horizon feels very egregious with this, as does new game plus. why can i not carry my map progress into new game plus like i do my skills. come onnnn.)
but still, props to the devs for understanding that 'sonic's BotW' could not actually play anything like BotW, and following through on that. really makes the game, for all its obvious influence, feel like it is trying to create a new blueprint for sonic games, with an eye to what works for the basic gameplay verbs that modern sonic games have. outside the boost gameplay of the 2010s, even! (thank GOD they did not let boost damage enemies. tbh.)

The Curious Case of Amy Rose the Rascal
Hello, this is Chipster here! Lately I've been seeing the discourse surrounding a particular character within the Sonic franchise which is a fellow pink hedgehog named Amy Rose.
From what I could gather, Amy is one of the characters that seems to get themselves into controversy by her characterization and I wanna look into her from her debut to her current "form" while also giving my own insight.
So let's start from her debut! To the 90s we go!
[Below are game spoilers]
In her debut game, Sonic CD (1993), she appears on Little Planet as a somewhat genderbend version of Sonic. It seems like a love at first sight thing and follows him through Collision Chaos until she gets kidnapped by Metal Sonic. The game itself has no dialogue while the game manual [PC/US version] has some with the former naming her Sally to possibly tie in to SatAM. After she is saved by Sonic in Stardust Speedway and out of Little Planet, all we get is a short scene where Sonic adjusts her and making a break for it.
Again, these games have no dialogue so you'll have to come up with something at that time.
By the time the Dreamcast was finally out and about came Sonic Adventure (1998) where we could play Amy's campaign story and also use her Piko Piko Hammer which first appeared in Sonic the Fighters (1996). This is also the period where she has a full redesign of the one we all know today. In her story, she reminisces her time during Sonic CD (possibly) and wishes there was that thrill and excitement of adventure until she encounters Birdy.
By her opening cutscene, we can interpret or explicitly state that she loves adventure just as Sonic.
After the opening, Amy approaches Sonic in hopes he'll take care of Birdy which is differs between EN and JP: in EN, Sonic says "No way! Uh uh." while in JP, Sonic says "I guess I have no choice." Fast-forward, Amy meets E-102 where he develops a change of heart where Amy considers him as friend the next time they meet. This kindness is also displayed where she goes out of her way to defend E-102 as she believes that he's a good person and telling Sonic that he helped them escape.
With this, this can be interpreted as Amy being a good-hearted person who believes the good in others, doing her best in her own abilities, and having Sonic respect her (or make him turn around depending on the EN or JP) from her ending.
Amy also appears in Sonic Adventure 2 (2001) as a minor character but has a small role towards both Sonic and Shadow. In Sonic's case, he gets rescued by her where she displays a seemly playful nature where she asks him to marry him then proceeds to let him out afterwards. In Shadow's case, Amy tells him to give the people on Earth a chance which brought back the real memories of Maria's wish, in which, pushes his drive to save everyone.
Now, this is where the franchise would've ended due to the Dreamcast being discontinued the same year SA2 came out (I wouldn't blame people that think that way as they might've believed at the time being the end of Sonic at the time) although Sega made a shift into being a third-party developer. So, in a way, this marks the end of Amy Rose within mainline Sega consoles.
This is where I like to call, the shift from First-Party Amy to Third-Party Amy.
Now, with Sega doing third-party stuff, the Amy seems to be in good hands with being playable in Sonic Advance and whatnot until Sonic Heroes (2003) where it slowly cracks to what shaped the "stalker fangirl yandere type" Amy received as the most notable moment was her trying to get Sonic into marriage which are there in both EN and JP. It doesn't help that Sonic Battle (2003) presents her (aside from a slight hint of her hardworking nature) in a way that's perceived as obsessive towards Sonic which fuels the fandom's dislike and/or hatred towards Amy.
Through, the whole marrying thing could be interpreted by some as being playful, calling back to SA2, most however differ. I didn't find a video of Sonic Battle's JP version since all I had was the EN version.
With Shadow the Hedgehog (2005), she seems like her usual self as she assists Shadow throughout the hero path. On the other hand, Sonic Rush (2005) has her proclaims to be Sonic's girlfriend in Blaze's campaign when she first meets her and presents an aggressive or jealous manner in Sonic's campaign where he asks about Blaze (but left out her name) where she interpreted the 'girl' part until she realizes it was Blaze as she met her earlier beforehand.
Although, this may be from a surface-level perspective since she does have that side that shows off her usual self just like in SA1 and 2. Later in Blaze's story, she does tell her that it's okay to ask for help and does calm down to mention where she was in Sonic's story after being familiar with Blaze.
In Sonic Riders (2006), she's a bit less "obsessive" and seems to slowly mellow out from Sonic Battle as she a bit flirty & does get angry at him for creating tornado while she was with Eggman as it slightly implies she has some limits with Sonic, though it may be me. This also seems to be the case in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) where she's looking for Sonic but tags along with Silver on finding their respective person until she stops him from hurting Sonic while also forming a bond with Elise. This also continues in Sonic Unleashed (2008) where she apologizes to were-Sonic (where Sonic, to my surprise, is distraught by this) while also curious about what happened to him without knowing he was there with her. I should add that the date was mentioned in Sonic Unleashed where it plays a role at the end of Sonic and the Black Knight (2009) where Sonic was unable to via teleportation and to Amy, she saw this as him forgetting about the date due to possibly waiting on him for hours on end.
With these set of games after Sonic Battle, it seems that Amy is in her resting period as she seems to slowly retrace back to her "First-Party" self during the mid to late 2000s with some slight hiccups that people like to put a huge emphasis on, causing the flanderization to continue.
Now we head into the 2010s where she varied to say the least as some people may say she was at her worse or her best during that decade since she's there most of them doing other stuff. Make what you will about 2010s Amy as we go on to the recent decade of the 2020s as we have this pink rascal in Sonic Frontiers (2022) where it divides outsiders and fans on how she's viewed.
People claim she's better now due to the notion of 2000s Amy, especially within stuff like Sonic X and Heroes, and that she isn't a one-note Sonic-crazed fangirl anymore. On the other hand, people claim that Amy is now the 'basic main girl' of the group which is often associated with being either the level-headed one, mature one, or 'group mom' and that all her flaws (plus quirks) have been removed to make people (who don't like her) like her to which points to the first point of view above.
There are possibly two outcomes that may come from Frontiers afterwards: Amy slowly comes back to her first-party self from 1998 and show people what made Amy, Amy to begin with or that she becomes someone people will eat up just because of her controversial characterizations in specific games.
So why does Amy get all the attention while other characters like Blaze, Rogue, and even Wave are often praised? To me, it may come down to how they're handled on their characterization along with their interaction on others, especially with male characters.

Currently in the process of redesigning all my Sonic OCs(bc i know i can do them better)
First up is my buff giant pangolin lady!
Like all my sonic guys, Rotunda was made to fit into the IDW comics. She was the original commander of the Resistance from Sonic Forces with Amy Rose as her right-hand assistant.
However, Rotunda was severely wounded and had to step down from her role as Commander after she tried to stand her ground against Infinite the Jackal so civilians could escape. The whole Resistance was then left in a state of shock as the rebels began losing the war without their literal biggest advantage against Eggman’s army. This is what finally persuaded Knuckles to leave Angel Island and lead alongside Amy. With the Resistance in need of more soldiers, the Avatar character is then recruited and the rest of the war proceeds as it does in the canon.
Rotunda did not recover until after the Neo Metal Sonic arc in the IDW comics. Although she wasn’t fully recovered, Rotunda still volunteered at the Restoration occasionally. Until the Metal Virus hit, and Rotunda got infected. After everyone is cured, it is discovered that some of Rotunda’s injuries from the war, specifically her leg, are no longer able to heal completely due to her time as a zombot. However, Rotunda refused to let this stop her and after spending some more time to build back her strength and recover as much as she could, she officially joined the Restoration after the Urban Warfare arc.
Rotunda now works with Jewel as the Restoration’s ‘Head of Defense’ and acts as a consultant, of sorts, to Lanolin. While Rotunda is still plenty strong enough to fight and still joins Sonic and Co. on the battlefield, she is against fighting, only using her super-sizing powers and strength to protect her friends or set up their attacks.
(Whew, three paragraphs… gotta love that.)

Freaking out about Shadow Androids for a minute
So for those of you who don't know, I'm actually somewhat of a Shadow Simp. Like, I unironically love the character. Even like the Shadow game so long as I use a pre-completed save file. Can't get enough of him.
So, naturally, I love Shadow Androids, introduced as a concept in Sonic Heroes, but seen more properly during Shadow the Hedgehog, where they looked like this:
My boys are looking fantastic.
Anyway, they disappeared after Shadow, so I've had this running theory that they're built, at least partially, out of Shadow's DNA. The ones we saw in Heroes and Shadow were the purest, having the most Shadow DNA in them, only really having upgrades like the missiles since, as established by the Biolizard, working with that Ultimate Lifeform DNA is hard, and I don't doubt Eggman would be taking shortcuts in trying to grapple with it. The audio logs in Frontiers show that he has SOME familiarity with how DNA works, since he was able to figure out the connection with the Ancients and Chaos, so it works so far.

But of course, after Heroes, Eggman no longer has access to Shadow for new DNA samples, and a good chunk of his supply was destroyed in Shadow, so he presumably has to start cutting down on how much DNA he uses. This is what creates the yellow variant we see in Shadow's multiplayer mode, being the first "downgrade." Their Chaos energy would presumably be somewhat less refined than the original units, thus the yellow coloring, but they're otherwise on par.
However, in this headcanon, they're also the most rare, since Eggman soon had to redesign these guys to use as little of Shadow's DNA as possible, thus resulting in the metallic variants also seen in Shadow's multiplayer. I like to think their weapons give them slightly different abilities, but idk.
Ultimately, however, they fall into disuse, only being brought out on rare occasions since they take increasing amounts of resources to produce and maintain, thus why the Diamond Cutters didn't know about them during that scene in IDW.

This was the logic I used in my fanfic, "Reflections," and even said that they were entirely destroyed after the Eggman War by Shadow, since I doubted they'd ever come up again. I even have this whole storyline I wanted to do with them. Got the second part waiting in the wings and everything.
BUT THEN THIS HAPPENED

So basically, now I'm wondering if I'll have to edit Reflections and entirely scrap the new story to line up with canon, since unlike some of you FREAKS out there, I actually LIKE my stuff to line up.
But I do have to question what's up with these greyish ones. Like, are those stripes meant to be green? And judging by Shadow's fur, why do they also have black fur when they're using the mouths and eyes of the metallic variants? Even their previous appearances had them being more grey and metallic.

Ugh, whatever, I'm mainly making this post to whine about my headcanons being contradicted when, as I pointed out in my post about my Sonic fanfictions, I like that my stuff mostly lines up. I'm interested enough in what this arc is cooking up that I can give it a pass if it's good enough.
I'll bitch harder if it sucks, though.

No, but here's the reason I dislike the Violet Paradox Pokemon.
And there's a lot of reasons I dislike them--number one being that the idea of just chroming and mechanizing a bunch of Pokemon feels like the most cop-out response to futurism redesigns for Pokemon I've ever heard of--but the biggest reason I dislike the Violet Paradox Pokemon? They aren't different enough.
Iron Treads might not be the best looking Paradox design, but it's a bold choice, and a logical one--what is Donphan's most notable feature? The fact that it can roll up into a wheel. So a future version of Donphan being a mechanical beast that rolls up into a wheel and only tangentally looks like an elephant makes sense and works in that specific situation. It might look dorky as hell, but it stands out.
Iron Treads is the exception.
The rest of the Violet Paradox Pokemon are just mechanized and robotisized versions of existing Pokemon. In the case of Iron Hands, the Hariyama VPP, I don't mind it as much, as the silhouette is different, and the idea of a combat Pokemon getting robo-copped in the distant future does sound plausible. And the idea of making Gallade and Gardevoir merge into one robot with Iron Valiant is unique (even if the robot in question looks like it belongs beside Metal Sonic).
The others, though? Iron Jugulis is literally just a metal Hydreigon. Iron Bundle is literally just a metal Delibird. Iron Moth is just a metal Volcorona. And Iron Thorns...is the fourth reference to Mecha-Godzilla we've had for Tyranitar in the Pokemon series so far, which I feel is three too many personally, but I'll settle for one too many in this instance.
If we have to stick with mecha-mon for the Violet Paradox Pokemon, then at least do something fun and unique with them--give them designs that harken back to the originals, but make them stand out as something different. The Hydreigon line's whole gimmick is that the heads split off from each other, then why don't you make the future version look like a spaceship with two sentry drones hovering to either side of it, separate but still a part of the main body? Delibird is a delivery pokemon, so make an actual delivery drone with its bundle held under it by magnesis or whatever. Volcorona is notable for being a living sun in bug form, so make those wings look like they're radiating the sun's light, and then down-play the main body to look less...Volcorona-ish.
At the end of the day, though, I feel like you could do so much more instead of just...chromified Pokemon. The Pokedex entries, sparse they might be, describe these as being sent by aliens--then why don't you go with that? The future doesn't just have to mean we Cyberpunked up Pokemon into cyberpsycho battle bots, it can mean space travel, renewable energy, contact with aliens, improved longevity and life.
And you certainly could've done something better for the shinies than just making them all metal with neon lights.

A while ago I was going through my old artwork from my elementary years and discovered this old artwork of my old persona from those years.

Upon looking at this artwork, I realized I completely miscalculated a lot of things on this design.
Allow me to go down the list.
Made the body abnormally long because I was drawing stick figure people around that time.
The right eye is supposed to go on the right side while the left eye is supposed to go on the left side.
8 feet is taller than the average 5 foot tall person.
Forgot to color the hair to match the persona I had around those elementary years. And a whole bunch of mistakes I did.
So I took it upon myself and redesigned this artwork and made sure I got everything right.

Le-boop!~

Redesigned to my liking and had all the miscalculations corrected.
Allow me to go down the list again.
Put the left on on the left side while I put the right eye on it's right side.
Made the killing machine capable of adjusting the high of her legs to either make look like she has stils, or make her shorter than 5 feet.
Feet can be used as weapons if necessary needed.
Face can split open like a Demogorgon from Stranger Things or the animatronics from sister location. But only if necessary needed.
Gave her a broken heart on her chest because yes.
She can retract the blades on her robot claw that was kept because I thought it looked dope as hell.
Gave her blade-like shoulder pads, gave her a stomach mouth, made the outfit red and black, gave a scar on her right eye, and gave her an expressionless face to add to her robot features. (Take Metal Sonic for ref)
Is waterproof so she can swim, survive rain and even just go underwater without getting rusty or malfunctioning.
Random Fact: Both designs were inspired by Deino3330's Calne Ca because I REALLY LOVE the design for her

I still love the design for Calne Ca to this day!
Still have a few of my old artwork that I need to redraw.
But for now, I'm still really happy with the redesign.

also these two 💫 ✨ for ask game
- finn from gay hogs
took me a minute bc I had to think about this!
💫 Dream Sonic Game
The short answer is a true (and good) successor to Sonic Adventure 2. The long answer…
I want as close to a series reboot without actually calling it a reboot. I’m talking new voice actors, slight character redesigns, and a shift in art style that harkens back to Adventure era or takes inspiration from the uekawa 2D art rather than the god awful ugly 3D models they’ve been using for the past 15 years (a cell-shaded sonic game would be SOO COOL).
For gameplay, I want a multi-campaign adventure-style game with all the polish of unleashed and a fully-fleshed out and satisfying story. It could be a sequel or standalone but I want them to focus on continuity across games and character motivations. Especially with characters such as Team Dark. Speaking of characters…
Three primary playable characters for three stories: sonic, shadow, and blaze. Stages are a mix of Sonic Frontiers open zone and Adventure 2 stages where the objective can range from getting to a goal to accomplishing some task. Keep combat from Frontiers, but each character has slightly different move-set that highlights their strengths (Sonic has quicker combos, Blaze’s attacks hit harder/have a wider spread, Shadow has ranged attacks).
I also want the game to have significantly more challenge a la Unleashed, where S ranks are truly only for the best. Normal/easy mode should be just that but for players who pick a hard mode I want a full Devil May Cry style sonic game.
Story-wise I have no specifics. basically i just want Shadow to be treated like a character again and for Blaze to get even a sliver of attention from Sonic Team. Also I require a chao garden <3
✨Dream sonic show/story
I long for a world where the Sonic OVA was greenlit as an actual show.
A show set in the Land of the Sky that begins with just the OVA chars working against eggman but eventually introduces events of modern sonic (including modern characters in that classic style). Basically an alternative adaptation of game events in that hand-drawn classic retro 90s look.
I also think Hyper Metal Sonic should return as a reoccurring antagonist/rival/anti-hero for Sonic.
The show I’m picturing is fundamentally impossible for many reasons but luckily I am insane and this is just a hypothetical so idgaf.
Alternatively, a season 3 of Sonic Boom that goes all in on introducing game characters and isn’t limited by stupid sega mandates. I’m talking Shadow being a regular character, introducing Rouge, Blaze, Silver, the rest of the Chaotix, the whole shebang. I think Shadow should wear that aloha shirt

Sonic the Comic Liveblog: Issue 55
A face-lift for the comic huh? Not sure to what extent this redesign will cover, but all the non-comic pages have had the same style all the way since issue 1. I like the current design but maybe this will freshen things up a bit.
On a tier list of coolest Robotnik bases, this ranks pretty dang low.
Fascinated with the concept of Robotnik building these robots then assigning them names and military ranks. Did he just get too lonely at the thought of his whole army being faceless? Or maybe he needed some way to feel like he’s an actually respected leader and not a tyrannical overlord.
Man, Porker really is generic looking if he can just put on some different clothes and that in of itself is a disguise. Sonic on the otherhand has to pretend to be a whole different species.
Sonic’s eyes in this style look like they’re meant to be seen as white or light grey rather than plain black. Low-key tempted to edit them to be green to see what that’d look like.
I’ve joked before about drinking games on this liveblog before but one that would really send you to the hospital would be ‘take a drink everytime Sonic and/or the writers make a joke at Tails’ expense’. Hmm, if you swapped alcohol with water that could make a really effective hydrating game instead.
One panel raises so many questions.
For starters, it seems like they’re changing the near-instant method of badnik making so they can write a prison break story. Ok, whatever.
But second, and more concerningly, I don’t think I can recall any instances of non-talking animals in StC, so where does the phrase like lambs to the slaughter come from?? Maybe I should’ve asked this question waayyyy back in the early issues when we’re told hamburgers are StC Sonic’s favourite food. But then again, this is kind of a problem in most Sonic continuities now that I think about it.
Back to Knuckles and the Chaotix. It seems like the Omni-viewer is more or less a program? Less organic than I initially thought anyway, but then-again he is a giant screen.
Charmy. Please. Why do you talk like that? I get this comic is British but as a UK resident I’m fairly sure no-one actually speaks that way.
‘You turn up out of nowhere’? Did you leave your brain cells at home today? Omni brought him here so you guys could beat him up.
Action poses, boo-yah!
A giant Metal Sonic? I think I vaguely remember that being a thing in the review of Knuckles Chaotix I watched. I outta go back and rewatch that review or look up a summary of the game before I go onto the next issue.
Well, that’s just the ending of the first Sonic Movie

The Mandates
Just wanted to share my thoughts on the pro-ported mandates because they cast a shadow on this comic.
“Game characters cannot have relatives unless they were estabilished in the game canon, i.e. Cream and her mother.”
This one is understandable and you can blame Penders for this. Mind you that most licensed comics of gaming franchises don’t actually delve too much in personal family relationships or expand on them. So this is expected and honestly Sega should have put the screws on Archie decades ago about this.
“Game characters can not die. There are workarounds for this, such as being Mistaken for Dying or "Mistaken For Dead”
Again. Yes. Not a big deal.
“Game characters cannot have wardrobe changes unless approved. Chao Races and Badnik Bases has some characters (mainly the female game characters) wear different clothes for extreme conditions. Male characters remain the same.”
This is a useless rule but whatever. I mean Sega, you are the ones putting bad wardrobe choices on the characters so again it’s whatever.
“Sonic can't be shown getting too emotional (i.e;cry)”
This is one that it complained about because it really wouldn’t matter unless it is called attention to. A lot of superheroes don’t cry. But that doesn’t prohibit them from expressing themselves. IDW Sonic has been sad. He has been pissed. He has been furious.

Is this not too emotional?

Is he not expressing himself appropriately?
I don’t even know why this is brought up. When in this comic has Sonic not been expressive or displaying the appropriate amount of emotion? When did Sonic needing to cry be necessary?
“Game characters cannot enter in a relationship.”
Oh GOD YES. Don’t threaten me with a good time.
“All major Character Development must be approved by SEGA.”
Yeah, of course. Let me remind you that Penders and Archie ruined any strand of trust Sega could have in comic media. They played loose at first and all of the sudden, they are involved in a lawsuit about characters in a Sonic comic that they didn’t even know about. They probably lost a video game business relationship because of it. If they want to be involved in the comics, fine. That means that they are now forced to World Build. They have to invest in it now and not just be like Lucas Films and let anybody do anything with their flagship title.
“Much like the post-reboot of the Archie comic, the words "Mobius" is banned—the planet is simply called "Sonic's World". Unlike the Post-Boot, which allowed the names "Mobian" and "Mobini", anything related to Mobius is banned in this comic.”
…Of course but how about you throw the writer’s a bone and I don’t know, name the fucking planet. If it is not Earth, give it a name.
“Sonic must always win at the end. Even if he and his friends are at the losing end in an overarching story (the Metal Virus arc, for example), they must come out on top when it concludes.”
I don’t even get this rule and the knee jerk hatred for it. Why even have it? Why even share the existence of this rule? Archie Sonic didn’t really lose too bad. It’s more on how you frame a victory. The fact of the matter is that Eggman is still actively trying to conquer the planet. Sonic stops him but Eggman still has control of land and has military installations all over.
This rule is offset by this. While Sonic can’t lose, Sonic can’t completely win.
“Characters and material from other licensed properties (Sonic the Comic, Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie Comics), Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM)', Sonic Underground, the OVA, Sonic X and the Paramount films cannot be used. This rule extends to characters and redesigns done by the current writers. The only exception is Sticks from Sonic Boom, and that's because she was created by SEGA themselves and showed up in non-Boom media, but any ideas regarding her use still need to be okayed by SEGA.”
First off I am glad that Sticks was spared by this rule and I look forward to her eventual inclusion. Second, again, this is not much of a big deal as it was expected. Sorry Freedom Fighter fans but honestly deal.
“Male characters, sans Eggman, can't wear pants, which was also a thing in the Post-Reboot, albeit never explicitly stated. The inverse is also true; female characters have to have some form of lower clothing.”
Okay this is a pedantic rule. It is so weird with how precise it is. Like…huh?
“Classic characters such as Mighty, Ray, Nack/Fang, Bean, and Bark won't appear in non-Classic issues, as Sega doesn't want Classic and Modern Sonic to mix.”
One of the most bullshit mandates fueled by the nostalgia boner fans created. Like this is stupid because Archie Modern Sonic has added more character and depth to all of these mentioned characters than any of the Sega Sonic games they appeared in which only amounts to 1 or 2 at most. Why neuter your own potential stories with this stupid limitation?
“According to Ian Flynn, a specific incident involving Shadow's characterization when he's exposed to the Zombot infection was written in a specific way because of Sega mandating that he be written as an "overconfident asshole rival" character, similar to Vegeta. He later followed up with an explanation that out of every character, Shadow has the most mandates and notes attached to how he's portrayed. According to the podcast, Sega says that Team Dark is no longer a thing. The three members are not a team and they have never worked for G.U.N.; Shadow also doesn't even consider them friends.”
This is my opinion is the worst rule. First it’s contradictory to the character Sega introduced us to. Stop trying to be like Dragon Ball for once and actually be your own thing. It’s one thing if we are changing it because Shadow was unpopular because of his personality. But no one likes this Shadow. People miss the somber but reserved Hedgehog that continued to fight in spite of the world betraying him. Hothead Shadow is a cheap Knuckles. And I don’t even understand why Shadow even has so many mandates when he wasn’t the most egregious offender. Knuckles was.
Also, Team Dark aren’t a thing and Shadow doesn’t even consider them to be his friends. First off that doesn’t even fly in your own games. Who outside of Sonic does Shadow interact the most? Rouge. They have teamed up and were a packaged duo since their inception. When Shadow appeared, Rouge appeared right next to him. If Rouge was in a game, so was Shadow.
Team Dark or just Rouge has fought alongside Shadow in every game they appeared in. Who else does Shadow talk to if not Rouge?
“Sega has stated to Flynn that only male hedgehogs are allowed to go Super with the Chaos Emeralds.”
Except in Sonic Mania.
“Ian isn't allowed to directly reference a game, since the comic is supposed to be its own thing.”
Okay. Not only is this rule stupid. But it’s untrue.

This references the end of Sonic Forces.
The first page of comic.

It has referenced Sonic Adventure, SA2, Sonic Generations , and Sonic Unleashed.

This referencing Shadow the Hedgehog.
I don’t believe this rule exists and even if it did, it is dumbest rule since the whole point of this comic is to base it off the games more. The dumbest rule.
“Knuckles is not allowed to leave Angel Island unless he has a very good reason to.”
For decades, people have complained that Knuckles routinely leaves the island. For decades. Now does this mean Sega is going to 1. Use Knuckles and 2. Amplify the importance of Angel Island and the Master Emerald? No. Again, this criticism should be levied at Sega because they often conveniently forget Knuckles purpose and just hand wave it instead of giving Knuckles more to do on the island like I don’t know, have other entities invested in attacking him.
In summary, here is what I think is going on. Do I think most of these mandates are real? Yes. Given what happened to Archie, I do think Sega is doing some brand alignment. I think they got the clamps on.
But what I think is going on is a Japanese cultural thing called Power Harassment. It is normalized abuse of power. Sega of Japan is normally laxxed about their brands. They don’t mind blatant rip-offs of their mascot nor do they get stiff about fandom creations or mods. The comic division, however, is getting tough love because not only did it cost them a publishing deal, but ruined a relationship with a high end developer. So the IDW writers and staff are being subjected to intentionally hypocritical rules and strict mandates that they know don’t make sense until they’ve shown to be obedient.
A lot of the mandates aren’t strict. But some are so asinine that I don’t think they aren’t aware with how stupid they sound imposing those rules. Like Shadow is the most narratively complete Sonic character and yet, Sega puts this tight mandate as if Archie Shadow was the most egregious thing. Archie Shadow was overpowered. He wasn’t out of character like Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails were. They can’t be that stupid or be that intentionally dense. So they want to see if the writing crew can follow orders. That’s it.
But that’s just my take.

I forgot I left this on a cliffhanger jfksjxkkakak apologies 🙏 this is another long one

As Nova's systems got turned back on, he realized he wasn't his old self. His system and form had gotten a whole redesign and were now closer to White's. The Sonic zombot explained to Nova that he was now a perfect copy of White, meant to be the one ruling the empire in White's absence.
Of course, Nova was having none of that. He despised the idea of just leaving his brother behind, someone who went out of his way to protect him. Nova started developing a plan to rescue White despite the zombots greatly discouraging this idea, since they had been programmed by White to keep Nova safe in the empire no matter what.
In the meantime, White had been captured and contained inside a interrogation room. Team Dark had a lot to ask him; they questioned him about who he truly was and why had he jumped in to save Nova so quickly. Faced with the reality that he couldn't keep up the charade that he was this dimension's Neo Metal Sonic, White admitted to his origins, to how he'd tucked away Nova somewhere else and was now going to take over this dimension.
As Team Dark kept pressuring White with questions about his time as Neo, White began getting uncomfortable with the subject. White hated talking about his time as Neo Metal Sonic. Since being Neo was his first taste of not being afraid of everything around him, he had acted much more sporadically and without reason, driven by the feeling of not being below someone else's thumb. Still, he keeps answering whatever questions Team Dark would throw at him to give himself time to plan how he would break out of there.
Nova tried relentlessly to get the programmed zombot to let him go save White, but the servant wouldn't allow Nova to do so. The Sonic Zombot explained the basics of the White Empire and how it should be ruled, hoping to distract Nova from saving his brother; unsuccessfully. Nova lied to the zombot about how he wanted to now conquer his old dimension. That was enough for the zombot to give him permission to do so. With that, Nova had an excuse to sneak out of his dimension to save White.
After realizing just what had happened to White, Nova devised a plan to, with the help of his new powers, to break in the G.U.N. facilities and rescue White, but still keeping himself from actually infecting anyone with the metal virus. With White's new abilities of shape-shifting and being able to power through walls full force, both sneaking or breaking in are both valid options. Nova was able to break in the facility, but not without being detected. He had to find his big brother fast.
White was being held in special containment due to the amount of energy he had inside of him. As soon as he saw Nova breaking in, White immediately started berating him about how he shouldn't have come to rescue him. They fought for a while as White tried to forcefully kick Nova out of his cell, but as White began to melt and fall apart, Nova quickly got the upper hand, scooping up his brother and deciding to open a portal there instead of taking White all the way back to the hotel due to how weak White looked.
Nova quickly closed the portal behind them as they got back to White's dimension; carrying his older sibling back to his throne so he could get fixed. With White still enraged with Nova's reckless actions, and Nova too worried about White's well-being to ask him any questions, both remained silent.
