I'm not really sure the devs of V Rising know what they actually have on their hands there. Like they started with a vision of what kind of game they wanted to make and have blinders on for what could be.
Aaand now I kind of feel bad for not being vocal in the reddit back when it came out. I was doodling skin themes for items and stuff and getting imposter syndrome and not posting.
Anyways, I really really really think they have the bones to bridge some genre gaps between players. They just need to add some role play elements and focus on fleshing out the castle building. More functionality on that part.
Like, make the game co-habitable between PvE and PvP players. Make it so you can make that a setting when you place your castle heart. Like you can choose neutral/hostile and maybe even set a different clan on the server as your "rival" so that PvP players get rewards for being PvP.
A lot of people have expressed interests in being able to assign servants to different rooms, probably setting them to do different actions. (Guard/Clean/Lounge/etc) Major kudos if they added animations for them interacting with different objects.
Which, it would be nice to be able to interact with objects. Even in like a basic Sims 1 kind of way.
I want to be able to add rats and blood essence to my table to present a "blood feast" that can be consumed by you and allies for maybe an effect.
Likewise it would be cool to "set the table" with a prisoner from the cages. Stuff like that though, ya dig?

#Doodles#Original#Another idea smol and I are working on together :D Been a bit!#She came up with the concept on this one and I fell in love with it <3 She's very cool hehe#If you're familiar with the game Minit it has Something of a similar premise - not the same strict time pressure but yes on the time loop#Y'ever notice how in some games it seems like the wandering trader or traveling shop seems to come upon you rather than the other way around#:3c Hm ♪ Wonder how they'd know where you were gonna be :3c#The crux is that you play as the weapons shop owner and you're responsible for supplying the hero and his team with weapons!#Except the BBEG has gotten wise to how the hero keeps defeating him and it sick of it - so the shop owner is cursed to be in a time loop!#I love the concept <3 It sounds so fun to play in and there's still plenty of room to think about the mechanics and how it would be played#As well as the art design! :D#We threw around some character concepts - she's really into Baldur's Gate 3 at the moment so of course they had some influence in hers hehe#Only got the starting party for the moment but there are plans for a full team of 4 plus the shopkeep >:3c And various other NPCs lol#A lot of the gameplay would basically boil down to being a bartering simulator hehe ♪#Very RPG trade-this-for-that style quests - under a time limit! Hehe#Since it's the type of game that pretty much requires replaying sections time-loop-style it's all about how quickly you can trial and error#And then hightail it to where you need to be lol#I think we were also tossing around a nap mechanic to skip right to the time loop reset in case you mess up a run haha#I gotta get back to Majora's Mask at some point I swear#We still have a good bit of concept work to do on the art side of things - she's also been really into pixel art lately and I love pixel art#I also managed to pick up a full release of one of the RPGMakers :D So that's an exciting possibility!#I haven't learned most of its ins and outs yet but I do know About importing custom assets at the very least >:3c#Same with Novelty and I haven't done that yet either lol - all in due time! I hope!!

Publisher Emma Create and developer Caro Builders have announced city building and trade simulation game Rota’s Nautical Chronicles of Trade for PC (Steam). It will launch in late June. It will also be featured at INDIE Live Expo 2024 on May 25.
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
A “city building” and “trade” simulation game by Rota, the princess of the forest country. The Rosecania continent built its wealth by importing goods from various countries, processing and exporting them. One day, a heavy tariff was imposed by the king who ruled a neighboring country, making overland trade impossible. In order to save her country from its predicament, Rota begins a new trade by sea in the port town of Portamare. Let’s greatly develop Portamare through trade using ships and aim for the revival of Rosecania! There are three types of residents in the town of Portamare: farmers, merchants, and sailors. Each resident has their own skills, and in the case of merchants, they play an active role in business negotiation battles. Build various facilities around the city and produce export goods. The cute residents drawn with pixel art move around the map while muttering to themselves. Sometimes tourists visit our town! Business negotiations with other countries can be conducted by Rota himself or by hired merchants. The biggest challenge is how cheap imports can be bought and how high exports can be sold. Trade is carried out by sea using ships. There are different types of ships, and the larger they are, the more export goods they can carry. Also, when it becomes possible to trade with new countries, the types of facilities will increase, and people from other countries will appear as residents of Portamare. There is also a ranking event held once a year to evaluate the degree of development of the city. Let’s do our best to further develop Portamare!
