Have some Aramis [Nidhogg] full Primal things \o/ -- It's a mess but some tidbits include;

Four wings, aka 'arms' akin to a Wyvern. A larger set is a bit behind + below the actual 'arms'. This larger pair is near wholly wrapped around his chest with the leathered wing flat to his scales and hidden under feathering. When they're open the area is filled with Umbral Decay.

The feathering is pale compared to his dark scaling. This whiteish coloring also covers his muzzle and face. The parts that travel along his spine are misted and semi-translucent as they are the most volatile of the 'Decay'/Poison that is a constant. This white/lilac coloring is his aether.

While he does have plumage on his chest it's more accurate to think of it as 'fine scales' that are dusted with poisoned powder. Unless you're some type of Dominant yourself, it's unlikely you'll be close to this form that long. If Selene is present then his poison is nullified.

Black horns sprout alongside the ivory mask of his muzzle. These horns are shaped akin to tree roots or branches, gnarled and twisted. When in the presence of Selene, budding flowers can be seen on them, and they bloom through her magic.

The Collar that was created by Ultima is still present, shifted in adjustment; proven not to deny his Priming, it still has the worry of 'consequence' if he attempts to take it off due to the absorption of his aether. While in this form it's possible to use it as a tether to leash him. Easier said than done.

Capable of flight, but much more dangerous on the ground where his poison will spread. Not as big as Bahamut, but a fair portion larger than Ifrit due to his length tip to tail.

What are your opinions on TreeRoot (especially after Bristlefrosts death)?

Well, I think we can all agree that Tree marches to the beat of his own drum and isn't going to be constraint by conventional relationship structures, so I definitely feel like TreeRoot is always on the table. I hc them both as bi/pan anyhow so no issues there. I don't really see TreeRoot being a romantic thing really. I think if they got together it'd be more casual and in the vein of "let me help you out with that" or "let me teach you a nice move I learned" or "why don't you show me how you're coming along". Friends-with-benefits but with that paternal energy maintained.

As for the Bristlefrost thing, I could see that being a catalyst, but I mostly think of that being too sad/serious of a hook for TreeRoot (this is ShadowRoot territory). I think it's better if this all starts up out of Rootspring's canon "my dad is cringe" -> "my dad is... cool?" arc.

im wondering if elden ring has references and inspirations to annihilation/southern reach series

annihilation mentions a crab with a human face on it, the face of one of the past expedition members. meanwhile the crabs in elden ring above godwyns corpse are mutating to have his face on their backs

godwyn himself feels like hes inspired by the crawler to me. underground, infecting the entire rest of the land, passively and clear without reason, maybe instinctevly? but also he seems to be a horrific mix of biology. between clams, fish, man, flies, and treeroots, hes become this mash of concepts. just touching him could implant death in you

the mimic tears themselves feel like a very direct concept. annihilation has several instances of people being copied

the erdtree itself too seems to follow the same idea of annihilation. in annihilation, a meteor crashes on earth and whats in the meteor begins to warp and change the world around its range growing more and more, everything under its gaze is not immune to it

its heavily implied that the erdtree itself crashed into the lands between, and from this, it began to take over (with the help of marika). the greater will wants nothing more than to expand its control over the land and bend those to its will.

thematically too, the erdtree is kind of like a lighthouse, right? visible from all of the lands between shining its light, it serves as a reminder and as a reference point to its inhabitants
