How Do You Get Rid of Hyperpigmentation Around the Mouth?
Hyperpigmentation is a skin condition that leads to patches of skin appearing darker than the surrounding skin. This is something that many individuals experience throughout their lives, and the area around the mouth is prone to this condition. When an excessive amount of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin color, is produced and deposited in these areas, patches of skin may become dark.
Tumblr media
Some people may not find this to be a concern, but if it is making one feel self-conscious about their appearance, one must know that they are not alone and that there are several treatments available to lessen the discoloration.
To make this post enriching and factful, we have taken references from a renowned skin specialist, Dr. Ravali Yalamanchili, who is renowned for performing the best pigmentation treatment in Hyderabad. In this comprehensive guide, we will discuss what causes dark skin around the mouth and how one can get rid of it. Keep reading to learn more.
Before proceeding, let's first understand the two types of pigmentation.
What are the Two Types of Pigmentation?
Tumblr media
Following are the two types of pigmentation based on the production of melanin:
Hyperpigmentation: An increase in the production of melanin is called hyperpigmentation. It leads to darker skin than the usual surrounding skin. The rise in the production of melanin is often because of more melanocytes. It's essential to consult a renowned skin specialist to determine the underlying cause of hyperpigmentation and develop a tailored treatment plan. Moreover, practicing good sun protection habits is crucial in preventing further hyperpigmentation, which also helps in maintaining overall skin health.
Hypopigmentation: Hypopigmentation concerns include vitiligo, albinism, and pityriasis alba. The condition is caused by inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis and past skin injuries due to ulcers, burns, blisters, chemical exposure, etc.
The pigmentation treatment chosen at the clinic is determined after determining the type of pigmentation. To know the type of pigmentation one is experiencing, they need to consult a renowned skin expert. For more details, one can consult Dr. Ravali Yalamanchili, a prominent dermatologist in Hyderabad, at Neya Dermatology & Aesthetics Clinic.
What Causes Dark Skin Around the Mouth?
Excess or uneven melanin production can lead to dark areas of the body and face. There are several reasons why the body starts producing excessive melanin in some parts of the skin. These include:
Melasma: Melasma is a skin condition defined by hyperpigmented patches spread over the nose, chin, forehand, etc. It is also referred to as "the mask of pregnancy”. It frequently occurs when women use oral contraceptives or are pregnant. It could also occur due to a hormonal imbalance. It is more prevalent in women and gets more defined as people get older.
Side Effects of Medications: Medicines such as hormone replacement pills, which contain estrogen, lead to hyperpigmentation on the face.
Sun Exposure: According to research, the sun's UV rays and visible light can cause dark pigmented spots over the face and other parts of the body. If one does not correctly apply sunscreen to cover their entire face and mouth, they increase the risk of developing discoloration around the mouth. It has also been discovered that frequent use of tanning beds contributes to the development of dark patches on aging skin.
Trauma to the Skin: Traumatic skin concerns such as acne breakouts, skin infections or injuries can lead to hyperpigmented skin once the healing is complete. This is also called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Deficiencies: A lot of hyperpigmentation cases are associated with deficiencies of vitamin B12 and vitamin D.
How is Hyperpigmentation Around the Mouth Treated?
Whatever the reason behind one’s dark spots or patches on the skin, there are several methods with which one can get rid of hyperpigmentation. Following are the popular cosmetic procedures that help treat hyperpigmentation around the mouth:
Carbon Laser Peel: During this procedure, the skin experts spread a thin layer of carbon lotion on the targeted skin and leave the lotion to dry. Once it is dried, a Nd:YAG laser is passed over the skin to heat the carbon. The dermis is also heated to increase the production of collagen. The lasers used during this procedure are used in high-energy settings to break up the liquid carbon into smaller particles. Lastly, the carbon impurities are eliminated from the skin with the help of a smoke evaporator or vacuum suction attached at one end of the laser device. The laser treatment is effective in treating melasma, tanning, open [ores, skin congestion, photoaging, and acne pigmentation.
MNRF (Microneedling radiofrequency): In this procedure, a micro pen which delivers radiofrequency energy moves micro-needles across the surface of the skin. It makes micro-wounds in the skin and releases radiofrequency waves to heat the dermis and increase collagen production.
Photofacial (Intense Pulsed Light): It is a simple and effective procedure for eliminating hyperpigmentation. It also treats sun spots, sun-damaged skin, rosacea, and even spider veins. In this procedure, a handpiece that delivers light in short pulses is moved over the targeted area. The heat generated by the light breaks the melanin and eliminates it by exfoliating the skin.
Laser Resurfacing: Lasers have been the most effective approach to treating pigmentation concerns. Ablative lasers help to remove the skin’s topmost layer, while non-ablative lasers heat the skin’s dermis to boost the production of collagen.
In laser resurfacing, the treated area gets exposed to short pulses of laser light. This is done to break the melanin into particles, which are later flushed from the skin through the lymphatic system. The laser treatment can even stimulate the growth of new skin cells and help reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation.
How Can One Prevent Hyperpigmentation Concerns?
The first and most important method to prevent hyperpigmentation is by protecting the skin from the sun. This can be done by wearing sun-protective clothing and applying sunscreen with SPF 30. This helps to protect the skin against UV exposure and the formation of dark spots and patches on the skin.
Also, one must avoid skin damage and avoid picking at acne or scabs to achieve healthy and clear skin. However, besides protecting the skin from sunlight or other damage, hyperpigmentation can also be prevented by breaking the skin’s melanin production. For this, one can use skin products such as kojic acid and phytic acid that help to effectively interrupt the production of melanin.
Final Takeaway
Pigmentation around the mouth can be due to a range of reasons, such as being exposed to the sun, melasma, medications, etc. With the effective dermatological procedures explained above, one can effectively get rid of hyperpigmentation around the mouth. One can also reach out to a dermatologist if they believe that darkening around the mouth might be due to any medical reason.
For this, one can make an appointment with Dr. Ravali Yalamanchili, a renowned dermatologist in Hyderabad at Neya Dermatology & Aesthetics Clinic. The expert skin specialist has vast years of experience and will recommend the best treatment for hyperpigmentation to help one achieve healthy and glowing skin.
The pigmentation treatment cost at Neya Dermatology & Aesthetics Clinic starts from Rs. 3,000 and will vary based on treatment provided or sessions. To get the exact cost of the pigmentation treatment, pay a visit to the clinic today!

Microneedling Side Effects on Darker Skin Tones and Hyperpigmentation
For individuals with darker skin tones, every new skincare treatment comes with hesitation—and often, a long history of being underserved or misinformed. Microneedling promises glowing, even-toned skin, but if you have melanin-rich skin, you’ve probably asked: Will it really help? Or will it leave me with even more hyperpigmentation? In 2025, the conversation around microneedling for darker skin has evolved, but the emotional weight behind that question still matters. This isn’t just about improving skin—it’s about rebuilding trust in a treatment space that hasn’t always been inclusive.
Why Skin Tone Matters in Microneedling
Melanin-rich skin (Fitzpatrick types IV–VI) reacts differently to trauma. Even minor inflammation can trigger an overproduction of pigment, leading to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). Since microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries, the concern is valid. Without proper technique, equipment, and aftercare, this treatment can unintentionally darken patches of skin or trigger uneven tone—especially in those with a history of pigment instability.
In 2025, new technologies, protocols, and provider education are changing this. Microneedling is not only safer but more effective for darker skin—when done right.
Science Behind Pigment Reactions
Hyperpigmentation occurs when melanocytes (pigment-producing cells) respond to skin trauma by sending melanin to the injury site. In lighter skin tones, this often fades quickly. In darker skin, it lingers—and can become darker than the surrounding skin if not treated.
Microneedling, when properly performed, creates vertical microchannels rather than tears, which significantly lowers trauma levels. Devices with adjustable depths allow practitioners to avoid overtreatment, especially in sensitive areas like the cheeks or jawline. Pairing microneedling with anti-inflammatory or pigment-regulating serums can also reduce risk.
Best Practices for Darker Skin in 2025
AI-Powered Pre-Treatment Scans Before starting, clinics use high-resolution AI imaging to assess melanin density, inflammation markers, and sensitivity. This helps develop personalized protocols with safer needle depths and fewer passes.
Depth Control and Pressure Sensitivity Darker skin types are best treated with needles ranging from 0.3 to 1.0 mm. Devices in 2025 are equipped with servo motors that ensure precision and consistency—avoiding manual overpressure that leads to pigment trauma.
Post-Treatment Cooling and Barrier Repair Post-procedure serums often include tranexamic acid, niacinamide, or peptides to calm inflammation and regulate pigment response. Clinics avoid any actives like acids or retinoids during the first 72 hours to protect melanocyte behavior.
Session Spacing Longer intervals between sessions—every 6 weeks instead of 4—give melanin-rich skin adequate time to heal and rebalance pigment distribution.
Emotional Sensitivity and Representation
A growing number of clinics now emphasize trauma-informed care, especially for BIPOC clients. This includes longer consults, inclusive before-and-after photos, and transparent conversations about pigment risk. Because microneedling isn’t just a medical procedure—it’s a trust exercise.
The shame that sometimes accompanies pigmentation struggles—especially for clients who’ve tried everything without results—deserves acknowledgement. Providers trained in cultural competence help bridge that emotional gap, making the journey feel safe and empowering.
What to Expect in a 2025 Appointment
Initial Imaging: AI skin scans assess pigment concentration, vascular sensitivity, and healing history. Customized Plan: Providers map out a zone-based strategy, adjusting depth and serum choice for each area. Treatment Session: A gentle, controlled microneedling session using low-to-mid depth settings ensures minimal trauma. Recovery Guidance: You’ll receive a customized aftercare protocol designed to support melanocyte stability and reduce PIH risk. Progress Tracking: Clinics offer monthly check-ins with photos to monitor pigmentation changes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is microneedling safe for dark skin in 2025? Yes—when performed with adjustable-depth, high-precision devices and pigment-safe serums. It’s safer now than ever before.
Can microneedling fix hyperpigmentation? It can help fade old pigment and even skin tone, especially when combined with brightening serums. But improper technique can worsen PIH, so professional care is essential.
How many sessions are needed for visible results? Most clients see tone improvement after 3–4 sessions, spaced 5–6 weeks apart. Maintenance sessions may be needed based on skin condition and goals.
What should I avoid after treatment? Sun exposure, exfoliants, and harsh actives should be avoided for at least 5 days post-treatment. Always follow your provider’s specific plan.
Conclusion
Microneedling in 2025 is no longer a high-risk treatment for darker skin—it’s a refined, evidence-based option that empowers melanin-rich clients with safety and results. When personalized and delivered with care, this treatment can restore not only your complexion, but your confidence. And in a world that hasn’t always made space for your skin, that kind of progress means everything.

Exploring the Main Types of Pigmentation Disorders
Pigmentation disorders occur when the skin produces either too much or too little melanin, the pigment responsible for skin color. These conditions can lead to uneven skin tone, dark patches, or light spots. Understanding the types of pigmentation disorders is essential in managing skin health and choosing the right treatment.
One of the most common types is hyperpigmentation, which results in patches of skin becoming darker than the surrounding area. This occurs due to excess melanin production, often triggered by sun exposure, hormonal changes, or certain medications. Melasma, for instance, is a form of hyperpigmentation commonly seen in women during pregnancy or while using birth control, and is typically seen on the face. Sunspots, also known as age spots, are another form of hyperpigmentation caused by prolonged UV exposure over time.
Another common condition is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). This type arises after the skin has experienced trauma or inflammation—like acne, cuts, burns, or even certain cosmetic treatments. As the skin heals, it may overproduce melanin in the affected area, leaving behind darkened marks or spots. PIH is especially prevalent in individuals with darker skin tones, and while it isn’t harmful, it can be persistent and difficult to treat without professional guidance.
There are also hypopigmentation disorders, such as vitiligo and albinism, where the skin loses pigment. These are less common but can significantly impact a person's appearance and self-esteem.
Proper identification of the types of pigmentation disorders is the first step toward effective treatment. Professional skincare assessments and targeted products are crucial for managing symptoms and promoting even-toned skin. Treatments may include topical creams with ingredients like hydroquinone, vitamin C, or retinoids, chemical peels, laser therapy, or consistent sun protection to prevent worsening.
If you’re dealing with any form of pigmentation issue, it’s important to choose a brand that understands skin at its core. For advanced care, expert solutions, and visible results, trust Dermis Oracle—your skin’s most reliable guide.

Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C): Brightens skin and fights free radical damage.
Common Mistakes When Using Skincare Acids
Using skincare acids can transform your skin, but when used incorrectly, they can cause irritation, sensitivity, or even worsen skin concerns. Here are some common mistakes to avoid:
1. Over-Exfoliating
Many people think using glycolic or salicylic acid daily will give them faster results, but excessive exfoliation weakens the skin barrier. This can lead to redness, peeling, breakouts, and sensitivity. (especially for oily skin)
Solution: Use exfoliating acids (AHAs/BHAs) 2-3 times per week and always listen to your skin. If it feels irritated, take a break pleaaase
2. Skipping Sunscreen
Acids like glycolic, lactic, and salicylic acid increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun. Without SPF, you risk sunburn, premature aging, and even worsening of dark spots.
Solution: Always use a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily when using serums with those acids.
3. Mixing the Wrong Acids
Not all acids work well together. Using too many active ingredients in one routine can cause irritation.
🔴 Examples of bad combinations:
Vitamin C + AHAs/BHAs → Can cause irritation and weaken Vitamin C’s effectiveness.
Retinol + AHAs/BHAs → Too harsh on the skin, leading to peeling and sensitivity. (by experience 💁🏻‍♀️)
Niacinamide + Vitamin C (unless properly formulated) → Can cause flushing or reduce effectiveness.
Solution: Use exfoliating acids on alternate days and simplify your routine to avoid irritation.
4. Not Hydrating Properly
Exfoliating acids remove dead skin cells but can also strip away moisture. Without proper hydration, the skin can feel tight, dry, or irritated.
Solution: After using acids, apply thick a moisturizer to maintain balance especially if the acids dry ur skin so fast

Also, I RLLY love your blog❤ thankyou.
long post ahead!!!
my life NOW, feels like a fever dream, its fun, exciting, full of happiness and enjoyment, like i finally found myself not surviving and i’m just living my once desired life. i used to suffer with ed, being the friend that was never picked, not seen as attractive, my family was torn apart, low self-esteem and so much more but i won’t get into since thats not the internets business. i manifested my desired face because i didn’t wanna just look like one person, so now i’m completely unrecognizable, my dream body, dream life, dream everything. i’m always going on like fun trips and my school life is entirely romanticized, i love studying now (even though i don’t have to since i make straight A’s now). my life is similar to a j-drama (no i don’t see japan as a glorious country) and sounds like the song Roses by Chainsmokers and Midnight city by M83. i’ve been to countries i thought i would’ve never been before, so now i get to take those aesthetic pictures, im seriously photogenic/videogenic like i look good in any angle no matter how far i am or how close i am, you can use the silliest filters on me and i’ll still look drop dead, head turning, and extremely beautiful. i’m getting scholarships left to right, AS A FRESHMAN IN HIGH SCHOOL (its never too early to apply for colleges) i’m everyone’s comfort person and i have no problem with being that, love confessions left and right, rich, like RICHHHHH. got rid of my hyperpigmentation, literally everyones type and i don’t feel guilty for it, like i respect preferences but this is my reality so im GOING to make myself your type. straight teeth, natural fresh bakery scent. my family is not even torn apart anymore like everyone just made up and now theres fun days with my family every single day. my wardrobe is literally like barbies wardrobe..its HUGE. a huge friend group.
like i’ve fell in love with my life and thats not even half of what i manifested, like i can still sob from when the time i first induced the void state and immediately affirmed for what i wanted and i woke up with it all. that memory sticks with me for absolutely ever, i don’t wanna say i feel like god, not because im a religious person but since thats what i’ve grown to know and understand thats who i am in soul.. then i can say it feels absolutely amazing. my days are always sunny and bright, i guess i can say it also sounds like good days by SZA. theres so much more i could tell you but i’m currently busy as of now and found some time to type this all out, you can be just like me i promise. make that decision.
make that decision now.

୨ৎ Hormonal acne survival guide
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Images from Pinterest)
My mom had it, my dad had it, and pretty much everyone in my family struggles with it to this day. Blackheads, whiteheads, pustules, papules, large pores, scars, the kitchen sink. These are my most honest, tried-and-tested techniques, split up into low-effort (AKA low budget) and high-effort (AKA expensive) tips that help my skin remain healthy against all odds.
꩜ Low effort techniques
~ Water. If you're not hydrated enough, your skin WILL reflect that, no matter how many k-beauty products you own. Let's face it. Water also helps with your overall health -> your mood -> your body image, so either way it's a win. ~ Eating foods that suit your skin: Vitamin C from citrus fruits or paprika, vitamin E from sunflower seeds and almonds, Lycopenes from tomatoes, polyphenols from black tea, Omega-3 from flaxseed and fish... Let me know if I should make a dedicated post! ~ Avoiding dairy: Unless they're 100% organic, most dairy products are filled with oestrogen that they gave the cows to produce more milk. Skipping these products makes *such* a difference. ~ Rice water: Wash some white rice and put it in a bowl of water for 20-40 minutes. Drain out the rice and put the remaining cloudy liquid into a spray bottle. Rice water has been used for centuries to brighten skin, tighten pores and fight acne, especially in Asian cultures where rice was abundant. Use it as a toner after washing your face. ~ Green tea toner: Boil some pure green tea, let it cool and pour into a spray bottle. Green tea is anti-inflammatory and soothing, and is great for clearing up skin. ~ Protecting your face from bacteria: Use a separate towel for your face and body, and avoid touching your face and picking at pimples at all costs! If you want to be really diligent, change your pillowcases every second night (I only do it weekly, but different people have different skin). If you have ADHD and need to fidget or pick at something, get a fidget toy like an infinity cube or a wacky track to keep your hands busy and away from your face. ~ FOR BODY ACNE: Avoid using soaps with any sort of fragrance. Get yourself a hypoallergenic soap, even better if sulfate-free, as fragrances and sulfates dry and irritate sensitive and acne-prone skin.
꩜ High effort techniques
- Isotretinoin: a medicinal treatment commonly branded as Accutane or Oratane, which cuts back your skin's sebum production, which is the root cause of most acne types. It's a prescription product, but it is not very difficult to get one. - Salicylic acid serum: LIFE SAVER. Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid, which means it penetrates into clogged pores and clears them. Together with an AHA such as lactic or glycolic acid (NOT at the same time, though) you'll have clear skin in less than 2 weeks. ~ Retinol/Retinoids such as Adapalene gel (Differin): NOT to be used while on Isotretinoin, but if you aren't, this is a go-to for acne and even hyperpigmentation. Vitamin A (Retinol) works by increasing cell turnover and collagen production. ꩜ That's all for today! Thank you for reading all of that, and if you try some of these out, keep me posted with your results!

💖🌸 Venus As Darakaraka - A Ceritified Lover 🌸💖
Read Mercury and Mercury Rx as Darakaraka!
Note: These are just my personal observations and recurring patterns I've noticed over the years from married clients, relatives and friends. Take what resonates with you and leave the rest. Feel free to share in the comments if any of this hits home. This post is based on Vedic astrology.
Venus as Darakaraka - When the cosmos says “you’re into vibes, not resumes.”
When Venus is your Darakaraka, your partner is likely to be romantic, artistic, and deeply invested in self-care. They take pride in their appearance, from skincare and haircare to choosing the right perfumes and clothing. Their aesthetic sense extends to everything they do, whether it’s curating their wardrobe, decorating their space, or engaging in creative pursuits like music, painting, or writing. Some may even enjoy growing their own veggies or gardening.
Your spouse will have big dreams of owning a beautiful home, ideally a spacious one with manicured lawns, a pet, and children. They are self-sufficient and willing to spend on themselves, whether it’s for beauty treatments, skincare, or perhaps even the occasional indulgence in luxurious experiences. Cooking might also be one of their talents, as they enjoy both creating and sharing meals.
Visually-oriented, they appreciate beauty in all forms, from movies and fashion to travel and cultural experiences. Expect them to love trying new restaurants, exploring different cuisines, and shopping for clothing from various cultures. Professionally, they may be involved in industries like media and entertainment, cosmetics, electronics, real estate, retail, hospitality, or consumer goods.
Their relationships with family are also noteworthy. They might have a sister they are very close to, who is more chatty and playful but equally supportive of you. Your spouse will take pride in a clean home and may get irritated by small inconveniences. If they are financially comfortable, they might hire a maid for cleaning and chores but still maintain high standards of cleanliness. However, when they’re feeling down or depressed, they may neglect themselves, possibly overeating or skipping meals, losing interest in personal care.
Fertility is strong with Venus as Darakaraka, so starting a family might happen sooner than expected. If protection was not used before marriage, an unplanned pregnancy could be in the cards. Your spouse (for husband) may sport either a clean-shaven look with smooth skin or a well-groomed beard, maintaining their appearance with pride.
For a wife, expect someone who is fertile, healthy, and carries a well-proportioned body, often with medium to long hair, fuller lips, and thick eyebrows. They might also be prone to hyperpigmentation and love receiving compliments about their appearance. They are not ones to shop at thrift stores as they prefer quality over quantity and are willing to save up for their favorite items.
When it comes to relationships, they have a high libido, and might either enjoy romantic movies or indulge in crushes, fantasizing about being the lead character in a love story. With their natural charisma, they tend to attract attention, and you might have to deal with that even after you’re together. If Venus is placed in the 6th, 8th, 10th, 11th, or 12th houses, be cautious, as they may be prone to extramarital affairs, particularly in fire or water signs.
Venus in the 7th, 9th, 11th, or 12th houses can indicate a partner from a different culture, someone you may not initially find your type, but who you feel an undeniable, fated attraction to. When Venus is in the 1st house, your spouse will likely treat you like a king/ queen or the other way around, making you feel like the center of their world and vice versa. Venus in the 2nd house will indulge you, sometimes to the point of spoiling you or encouraging excess, particularly in food and drink. Venus in the 3rd house loves taking you out on frequent dates and showing you off to their friends and family. If Venus is in the 5th house, you’ve found a perfect life partner like someone who could also be an amazing parent similar to 7th. Venus in the 8th house suggests wealth through marriage, possibly an inheritance, as your spouse is likely to be financially well-off and generous with their resources.
💫 Venus Combos and What They Say About Your Spouse 💫
💚 Venus + Mercury - Expect a younger, baby-faced spouse who may be significantly younger than you. They're witty, charming, and possibly into writing, painting, or other artistic hobbies. If Mercury is retrograde, they might be more reserved in love or less experienced in relationships, but still very talented and expressive.
☀️ Venus + Sun - Your spouse could have a higher social or professional status, admired by many and naturally stands out in a crowd. Think someone confident, radiant, and maybe even self-employed or entrepreneurial.
🌙 Venus + Moon - This combo? Literal beauty/ handsome. Your spouse will have a stunning face, glowing skin that reflects light, and lush, healthy hair. They're soft, nurturing, and emotionally in tune.
🔥 Venus + Mars - The chemistry is 🔥. Your spouse radiates raw sexual energy and may unintentionally turn heads everywhere. They're likely fit and active. In some cases, this combo can bring intense attraction and occasional temptations for them outside wedlock.
🌍 Venus + Jupiter - Foreign connection! Your spouse might be from a different culture, and they love the finer things in life like food, drinks, luxury. If Jupiter is retrograde, the foreign influence still stands, but you may be the one introducing them to indulgent pleasures or spoiling them with your taste.
⏳ Venus + Saturn - Age gap alert! Your spouse could be older, but there's definitely a maturity contrast. If this pair is in the 7th, 9th, 11th, or 12th house, a foreign or long-distance connection is likely. If Saturn is retrograde, the dynamic flips as your spouse could be child-like and laidback, while you take on the more mature, grounding role.
Next Post will be about Mars as Darakaraka!

Common Types of Pigmentation Disorders
Tumblr media
Common types of pigmentation disorders include hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation, which affect the skin's color due to an imbalance in melanin production. Hyperpigmentation occurs when excess melanin is produced, leading to darker spots or patches. The causes of hyperpigmentation vary and include sun exposure, hormonal changes (like pregnancy or birth control), and certain medications.
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) is a type of hyperpigmentation that occurs after an injury, acne, or inflammation heals, leaving behind dark spots. It is more common in individuals with darker skin tones. Another common type of pigmentation disorder is vitiligo, where skin loses its pigment due to immune system dysfunction. Effective treatment for pigmentation disorders depends on the type and cause, and products like those offered by Dermis Oracle can help manage and reduce the appearance of these skin conditions.

Hey! So I have a Black oc who is a trans man and he has had top surgery, my problem is I'm having trouble finding references for what top surgery scars look like on darker skin (especially since his skin is pretty dark) I've found a few pictures of relatively newer scars but my oc has had them for a while so they've faded a bit
I have trouble finding references for how darker skin scars in general (I've found one video on it! It's called "Why does dark skin scar different than light skin" by you look okay to me and it talks about how keloid scarring and Hyperpigmentation is more common and how they didn't really know what they're scars were gonna look like when they got a surgery because all the references online were white people) so if you have any recommendations at all that would be great! I want to be able to depict it right even if this is mainly just a personal oc and I'm really struggling to know how much they might fade and how long it might take
Also thank you for this blog! It's super helpful and has helped me learn just how many little things I picked up from my conservative upbringing without realizing! Thank you so much and have a great day!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Keloiding and hyperpigmentation sound right to me! You just might not be able to see it as well on deep brown skin, because it's already deeply melanated.
I absolutely welcome feedback from Black trans folk!

aged up!turbo! okarun
okarun is usually shy, being the type to take a little longer to warm up to you. once he is, the jokes flow more often.. he learns a new humor coming from you, and he learns a new culture difference.
he loved when he can basically touch you whenever, wherever.
that applies when its applying lotion to your supple skin, seeing how different skin can vary when it came to new places— hyperpigmentation. he loves when your hair changes up each month or so. he absolutely adores it, and he feels like you know he has a crush on you.
but when hes turbo? he makes it known.. and will try to find ways to see if you do, too. he becomes a annoying shit, cornering you when it comes down to it.
“tiny!” he chuckles low, hands on your shoulders and he looms over you. “man, can i call you tiny, right?”
“you? you call me my name.” you play along with him, a eyebrow raised and a small smirk. you knew what he was getting at, and you wouldn’t fall for that. hes always trying to fluster you, his hands becoming on your hips and he coos.
“a little hurt man, “ he gets in closer, almost touching his nose and his eyes lower. he tries to steal a kiss, but you dodge and he pouts. “you hate me, yo?”
