"But we didn't know--" Yes you did. Actual HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS warned you the orange shitgibbon reminded them of Hitler, and begged you not to support him. You saw the neo-Nazi and other white supremacist flags and tattoos among his friends and supporters. You heard him call neo-Nazis "very fine people." You heard him call immigrants rapists and "vermin" who were "poisoning the blood of our country." You saw him mock the disabled. You heard him brag about getting away with sexual assault. You heard him talk about what a "terrific guy" Epstein was. You heard him say he planned to be remembered as "the president who ruled like a king." You knew EXACTLY what you were voting for.

it’s wild the way ppl are misusing the rhetoric around the confederacy to alienate potential allies that are defecting from MAGA
The notion of “the biggest failure of the civil war was that the confederacy wasn’t punished enough” is not about the individuals in the South, it’s about the fucking plantation owners, and the fact that they were allowed to keep their wealth, power, and land after the war ended. Lincoln had planned on dividing up their land and wealth between their former slaves, but when he was assassinated, those plans went down the drain because Andrew Johnson was a total fuckhead. That’s the failure that scholars of the period talk about- not that every schmuck who lived down South should’ve gotten spanked.
Now I know it feels fucking good to rub former MAGAs faces in the dirt, mock them and tell them it’s too little too late and to fuck off and die. I want to do that too, but you know what? We fucking need them. We need as many goddamn people to rise up against this regime as humanly possible, and if we push these people away, they’re either gonna become apathetic or go right back to their stupid cult.
Now, you as an individual may not have the stomach for working with these folks; that’s fine. But fucking stop shooting us all in the foot by pushing them away from the movement. Step aside and let the people with the time and patience to bring them into the fold deal with them, and just shut the fuck up about it while we do the work

Hey, we've got another public comment period with a rapidly approaching deadline here in the United States! Short version is that the Department of Agriculture, which manages the U.S. Forest Service, has severely curtailed its obligation to public outreach and comment on its activities, to include timber sales and environmental impact reports. The foundation of a democracy is in the power of the voices of the people, and this decision circumvents our ability to give feedback on Forest Service decisions.
That means that it will be easier for the Forest Service to clearcut old-growth forests regardless of the ecological impact, and make it easier for profiteers to exploit the natural resources of these publicly owned lands. This decision was made to benefit the few, not the many, and it's blatantly obvious.
The deadline to make a public comment on this disastrous decision is August 4. Please get the word out!

what YOU can do to fight KOSA
KOSA, or the Kids Online Safety Act, is back after failing to pass last year. If history has taught us anything, blanket censorship poses a very real danger to marginalized peoples including the LGBTQ+ community. Because it's never about the kids.
The best time to fight was yesterday; the second best time to fight is right fucking now. So I've scrounged like a stressed-out raccoon in an unattended garbage bin to dig up a few resources you'll hopefully consider to be helpful.
Tumblr media
🪶 Contacting your representative is probably the most obvious step. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has made this easy as shit with a webpage that will message your rep for you. The page provides a template you can use as-is or edit freely, and a short form asking for your name, address, and contact information.
Not that you can't also reach out directly, which I do encourage because the whole process is pretty routine. To find out who to contact, you can look up your House Rep on the official govt site.
🪶 Consider also signing other petitions and supporting organizations dedicated to fighting for a free and open internet.
In addition to the ACLU, I highly recommend Fight for the Future...
... and the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF).
I've also seen the Stop KOSA petition floating around, if you'd like to throw your name into that hat as well.
Stay vigilant and keep fighting, internet enjoyers.

It was impressively unsubtle about picking a side in current American politics for a major studio movie.
excuse me for stating the obvious but like. james gunn outright calling superman an immigrant and doubling down on it when he got backlash (because he IS an immigrant, that's the point of superman) + the in-movie dialogue of "aren't you going to read me my rights?" "you're an extraterrestrial, son. you haven't got any rights to read." + the violence of his arrest and how they torture and mistreat him unapologetically, all under the guise of "protecting america", in a film releasing during the onslaught of violent ICE kidnappings and abuse... yeah it's really no wonder right-wing knobheads are crying about this being woke. they're being forced to look directly at the reasons one of the most well-known and beloved heroes of all time would not be on their side. and that's only ONE of the reasons this movie covers

Hey guys just ignore this don't look over here at all I swear there isn't anything.
This happened back in January but with all the other insane shit it was covered up. If the other action's weren't enough, blocking investigation like this should make it incredibly clear that they have a huge foot in this.
This should be investigated and every single person who partook in or aided Epstein's crimes should be taken down.

Yes. It’s LITERALLY slavery. AND YET, it’s somehow still legal due an exception written into the 13th Amendment.
Tumblr media
Ya know the 13th amendment to the constitution? “The one that abolished slavery?” Yeah so actually that was a fucking lie. They made an exception so that it’s legal to enslave incarcerated people who were convicted of a crime. It’s BEYOND EVIL that there is still legal slavery in America.

So one particular idiot, and a few others, was in my reblogs yesterday about how it’s silly to call ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ a concentration camp because it’s not like anyone is suggesting work camps or extermination camps.
Here’s one of the declared republican candidates for Governor of California, the response from the Auschwitz Memorial Museum, and his doubling-down.

In 1960, the average price of a house was $11.9k. In today’s money, that would be around $129k. In 1960, the federal minimum wage was a dollar an hour. Roughly $2,080 a year if you work 40 hours a week every week. In today’s money, that’d be around $22k a year.
Today, the federal minimum wage is 7.25 an hour. Roughly $15k a year if you work 40 hours a week every week. Today, the median home price is $410k and the average is $512k.
In 1960, making minimum wage, and saving every single cent you make (and disregarding taxation), it’d take 5 and a half years to save up enough to buy a house. In 2025, making federal minimum wage, and saving every single cent and disregarding taxation, it would take you 34 fucking years to have saved up enough to buy an average priced house, 27 years to buy a median priced one.
Young people cannot afford homes. Young people will never be home owners. Young people can barely afford to eat and pay rent for a studio apartment. Boomers completely pulled that ladder up from us and fucked everyone over for the rest of their lives while they enjoy their beach houses and boats and luxury cars. This system is fucked.
