VPN Guide
I’ve been asked to put together a VPN guide, especially since Emmerdale episodes are being uploaded to YouTube. This guide will also works perfectly well for accessing ITVX and the BBC iPlayer.
What is a VPN?
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a service that helps you stay private and secure online by creating a secure, encrypted connection between your device and the internet. For this purpose, we're interested in the fact that VPN's can bypass geo-restrictions and allow you to access things you wouldn't normally be able to.
Which VPN should I use?
There are plenty of VPNs out there. I'll be giving three options. Everything I mention here is something I’ve personally used or that my partner's used and tested. While there may be other great options available, I won’t recommend anything I can't vouch for.
As far as I'm concerned, if you can afford to invest in a VPN, I would because I think it's worth the money. I use it alot while out in public, when accessing public wifis, such as in cafe's and airports to protect my data. It does a lot more than just bypass geo locations.
ExpressVPN
I've been using ExpressVPN since 2014, long before I moved to the UK. This is the VPN I used during 2014-2019 era to watch Emmerdale. While it's not the cheapest option out there, I think it's worth every penny because the customer support is great.
Pricing: Starts around €6.40/month (billed annually)
Pros: Fast, reliable, great customer service
Cons: Pricier than others
ProtonVPN
ProtonVPN offers both a free and paid plan. While the free version is useful, it's very limited, you can't choose your server location, which makes it tricky if you're trying to access specific content. For streaming or location-specific browsing, you'll need the paid plan.
Pricing: Paid plans start around €4.99/month
Pros: Strong privacy reputation, has a free option
Cons: Free plan is very restricted
Surf Shark
My partner swears by Surf Shark. It’s the most affordable of the three, with plans starting at just €1.99/month. Despite the low cost, he’s never had a single issue with it so far.
Pricing: From €1.99/month (with long-term plans)
Pros: Budget-friendly, reliable performance
Cons: Slightly fewer server options than premium VPNs
** add on **
Windscribe
@srtazombie has recommended Windscribe, which has a free version, that let's you use up to 10GB monthly.
Tutorial
For this tutorial I'm going to use Surf Shark because it is the cheapest of the three options.
Open your browser and go to: https://surfshark.com
Click on “Get Surfshark” on the homepage.
You’ll see 3 plan options. The 2-year plan (€1.99/month) is the cheapest.
Click “Select” under your preferred plan.
Enter your email address.
Choose a Payment Method. You can pay with: Credit/debit card, PayPal, Google Pay and Apple Pay.
Enter your payment details.
Click “Complete Purchase”.
You’ll get a confirmation email right after purchase.
After payment, you’ll be directed to a page to download the Surfshark app.
Choose your device: Windows / Mac / Linux, Android / iOS or browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, Edge). You can also find Surfshark in the App Store or Google Play Store.
Open the Surfshark app.
Enter the email and password you used when signing up. If you didn’t set a password during checkout, check your email, Surfshark will have sent you a link to create one.
Connect to a Server. Inside the app, click “Connect” to use the fastest server. Or choose a country from the list (e.g., US, UK, Germany, etc.).
For the UK you can pick from: London, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Then try it out and go to YT and see if it works. If one server is down, just change between them until one works.
Personally, I haven’t come across any free VPNs that work well for changing your geo-location to stream regularly. Most either don’t let you choose the country, or they have extremely limited monthly data, making it impossible to watch shows like Emmerdale, which airs five days a week. For that reason, free VPNs just don’t cut it for daily streaming.
I’ve also heard that Mullvad is also good and affordable option. However, I can’t personally recommend it since I haven’t tried it myself. If anyone has experience with Mullvad and wants to share more info, please feel free to add to this post! Also, if there are free VPNs which work, please let me know!

So, for anyone who lives outside of UK and wants to watch Bookish.
If you already have a vpn (I use NordVPN) but still cannot connect, change your device time zone to UK. That is it. I tried several vpns and this is the only shit that helped me. Idk how it works but it works

#probably going to put together a guide or something about shadowbans and terminations and all that (not so) fun stuff#today I learned that most people who've been terminated have not gotten confirmation emails from the support form#and the common thread is GET THIS using the email address on file for the terminated account#EXACTLY LIKE THE FORM TELLS YOU TO#so you have to use a different email if you want to be sure the ticket goes through#which isn't ideal for a variety of reasons#primarily i have to assume that their data security policies likely rely on the customer being able to verify their email address#I mean I don't know but that seems like a pretty big one#anyway I do (finally) for sure have a ticket in#but that would've been nice to know earlier in the week#also would've been nice to know about the VPN two months ago#but what's done is done

If you’ve got a VPN that can put you in the UK it is surprisingly easy to make a BBC iplayer account.
I did it years ago, so I don’t remember the exact steps, but it still worked today when I logged in to watch agggtm.
I remember having to google addresses and postcodes in the UK, and also just ticking “yes” when asked if I had a TV license.
Good luck :)
Thank you !! 🙏

Why would I do that when I'm talking about my experience at work and what I deal with on a daily basis rather than personal life?

The Ultimate Guide to IPTV: What It Is and How to Stream Seamlessly
In recent years, IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) has become one of the most popular ways to stream live TV and on-demand content. Unlike traditional cable or satellite television, IPTV offers users the flexibility to stream TV shows, movies, and live broadcasts via the internet. Whether you're a cord-cutter looking for a more affordable option or someone who loves the variety of content available online, IPTV is a great solution.
In this comprehensive guide, we’ll explain what IPTV is, how it works, and how you can set it up to enjoy seamless streaming. Plus, we’ll explore IPTV subscription options and provide tips for enhancing your streaming experience.
What is IPTV?
IPTV stands for Internet Protocol Television, and it’s a system where digital television services are delivered to users through the internet rather than via traditional broadcast methods like satellite or cable. With IPTV, you can access a wide range of content, including live TV, sports, news, and on-demand services like movies and TV shows.
Unlike regular TV signals that are transmitted via satellites or cable lines, IPTV uses your internet connection to deliver content. This means that as long as you have a stable internet connection, you can enjoy high-definition streaming anywhere, anytime.
Why Choose IPTV Over Traditional Cable or Satellite TV?
There are several reasons why people are shifting from traditional TV services to IPTV. Let’s take a look at the advantages:
1. Wide Range of Content
With IPTV, you have access to thousands of channels worldwide. You can watch content from different countries and enjoy regional and international programs that are often unavailable on cable TV.
2. No Long-Term Contracts
Unlike traditional cable providers that require long-term contracts, IPTV services are often available on a month-to-month basis. You can choose from a variety of subscription options and cancel whenever you wish.
3. Cost-Effective
IPTV services are often more affordable than traditional cable or satellite TV. This is because IPTV providers don’t need to maintain the expensive infrastructure that satellite TV providers do. By cutting out the middleman, IPTV services can offer a better value.
4. Access from Multiple Devices
With IPTV, you aren’t restricted to a single device. You can stream content on your smart TV, smartphone, tablet, laptop, or PC. This flexibility makes IPTV the perfect choice for people on the go.
How to Set Up IPTV: A Step-by-Step Guide
Setting up IPTV is straightforward, but it requires a few essential steps. Follow this guide to get started.
Step 1: Choose an IPTV Service
Before you can start streaming, you need to subscribe to an IPTV service. There are many IPTV providers available, offering different packages that range from live TV channels to on-demand content. Be sure to choose a service that suits your viewing preferences and budget.
If you’re looking for a reliable IPTV provider, we recommend checking out Ultim4K IPTV, where you can access thousands of channels in high definition, including premium sports and movies.
Step 2: Get the Necessary Equipment
To enjoy IPTV, you’ll need a compatible device. Here’s what you’ll need:
A smart TV, set-top box, or streaming device (like Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, or Apple TV)
A stable internet connection (preferably 10 Mbps or higher for HD content)
An IPTV app or IPTV receiver (depending on your chosen service)
Step 3: Install the IPTV App or Set-Top Box
Most IPTV services offer apps for various devices, so you’ll need to download and install the relevant IPTV app for your device. Alternatively, if you're using a set-top box, follow the provided instructions to connect it to your TV and internet.
Step 4: Start Watching IPTV
Once your device is set up, log in to your IPTV account and start streaming. You can browse through live TV channels or search for on-demand content. Enjoy seamless streaming with high-quality content!
Tips for Enhancing Your IPTV Experience
To make the most out of your IPTV experience, here are some tips to help you optimize your setup:
1. Ensure a Stable Internet Connection
Since IPTV relies on your internet connection, a fast and stable connection is essential. For HD and 4K content, you’ll need a connection speed of at least 10 Mbps. For 4K streaming, aim for 25 Mbps or higher.
2. Use a VPN for Extra Privacy
If you want to protect your online privacy while streaming, consider using a VPN (Virtual Private Network). A VPN encrypts your internet connection, ensuring that your streaming activity remains private and secure.
3. Get the Best IPTV Subscription Plan
Choose an IPTV subscription plan that meets your needs. Some services offer packages with different channel lineups or on-demand content. Find one that fits your entertainment preferences and budget.
4. Regularly Update Your IPTV App
Ensure that your IPTV app is regularly updated to fix bugs, improve performance, and provide new features. Most IPTV services offer automatic updates, but it’s a good idea to check for updates manually from time to time.
Conclusion: Start Enjoying Seamless IPTV Streaming Today
IPTV is revolutionizing the way we consume TV and video content. With the flexibility to stream live TV, sports, and on-demand content from around the world, it’s no wonder that more people are switching to IPTV as their primary source of entertainment.
If you’re ready to start streaming with Ultim4K IPTV, head over to our website to explore our subscription options and find the perfect plan for you. You’ll be able to enjoy thousands of channels, including premium content, with high-definition quality.

dear americans,
as a polish queer woman and human rights activist, i know exactly how you're feeling right now and what to expect from these elections. i lived through the 2015-2023 regime of pis, a right-wing populist party that divided families in the same way trump did. i’ve experienced the rise of fascism in poland, the influence of far-right parties like konfederacja, and their “santa’s little helpers”—ordo iuris, an ultra-conservative catholic organization (banned in many countries, mind you) that helped enforce a near-total abortion ban and runs anti-queer campaigns in public spaces. i supported the black protests in 2016 as a middle schooler when they first tried to ban abortion. as an adult, i actively participated in the 2020 women’s strike, running from police tear gas daily after they finally passed the ban. i supported friends who faced charges.
i’ve lived through intense homophobia in poland as a queer teen and adult. i survived the first pride march in my hometown, where far-right extremists threw stones and glass at us. i endured the anti-queer propaganda spread by the ruling party in state-owned media. i survived the “rainbow night,” poland’s own stonewall moment in summer 2020, when police arrested around 50 queer activists following the arrest of margo, a nonbinary activist. i survived the "lgbt-free zones," the targeted violence, the slurs from strangers on the street, and the protests i held against queerphobia. it was hard as fuck, but i survived.
but just because i survived, it doesn’t mean others did. many women died because of the abortion ban—marta, justyna, izabela, dorota, joanna, maria, and many others who didn’t survive pis’s draconian anti-abortion laws. milo, kacper, michał, zuzia (she was 12), wiktor, and other queer and trans kids and young adults took their own lives because of the relentless queerphobia.
despite all of this, our experience in poland can serve as a guide now. here are some tips for staying safe and how we, polish queers and women, organized under the regime:
safety first, always. if you know someone who’s had an abortion, no you don’t. if you know someone is trans, no you don’t. if you know people who help with safe abortions, no you don’t—at least not until you know it’s 100% safe to share. if you are queer or have had an abortion, only share this with people you trust fully. most importantly, not everyone has to be an activist just because they’re part of a minority. if it feels unsafe to share that you're queer, trans, etc., then don’t. it doesn’t make you any less queer.
use secure, encrypted messaging like signal for conversations on potentially risky topics, such as queerness, abortion, organizing counter-actions, protests—anything that might be used against you.
stay anonymous online. if you want to research or report something without surveillance, do not use regular internet. get a vpn (mullvad is affordable and reliable), download the tor browser (for both onion and standard links), and if you plan to whistleblow, consider using a riseup email account.
organize and build networks. community is everything now. support each other, foster independence, because your government won’t have your back. set up collectives, grassroots movements. create lists of trusted professionals—lawyers, doctors, etc.—who can offer support.
to lawyers and doctors: please consider pro-bono work. this is what got us through poland’s hardest times. your work will be needed now more than ever.
for protests or risky actions: always write a pro-bono lawyer’s number on your arm with a permanent marker.
get to know the anarchist black cross federation and other resources on safety culture: "Starting an anarchist black cross group: A guide"; Still We Rise - A resource pack for transgender and non-gender conforming people in prison; Safe OUTside the system by the Audre Lorde Project;
for safe abortion info or involvement: get familiar with womenhelpwomen.
stay radical, stay strong, stay informed: The Anarchist Library
if i forgot to (or didn't) include something, don't hesitate to reblog this post with other resources.
#kinda heartbroken i've gotta post something like this#but now my experience is needed more than ever and i AM going to share it#we are going to get through this#together#activism#anarchism#grassroots#anarchist#resources#useful#helpful#human rights#abortion#abortion rights#reproductive rights#queer#trans#transgender#lgbtq#us politics#usa#us elections#america#donald trump#kamala harris#stay safe#moira speaks

3 Steps To Choose A Trustworthy VPN

3 Steps To Choose A Trustworthy VPN | https://tinyurl.com/27gcjpsp | #DNS #General #Guide #security #VPN Using a virtual private network (VPN) these days is a no-brainer. It is the only way to secure yourself from identity theft online. Without one, you may as well be handing out your information to the first person in line. You can lose thousands of dollars, along with your very reputation. But using any VPN is not necessarily going to keep you safe. Some VPNs don’t work, or might be selling your data. Not long ago, a review conducted on Android VPN apps found that most of them don’t work. You can’t hope to choose the right VPN if you […] Read more... https://tinyurl.com/27gcjpsp
