(linked post) oh YES you're so right. the number of times both Tim and Cass have walked into a mission fully believing they would die and being okay with it makes me unwell. and it'd so deeply piss Jason off to have them constantly try to kill themselves over this thankless job. they're so noble and he loves them for it but man do they get on his nerves. atp Jason should keep both of them on a leash.

i think it's especially fun from the angle that Jason has died and doesn't want either of them to have to go through that too. bc he wouldn't really have any clue that Cass has died and been revived by the Lazarus Pit too, it's not like she broadcasts it. and for Cass her death was never a big deal and bc of that she never takes death as seriously as she should when she faces death down. Jason thinks it's a very cruel irony that Cass and Tim have the most headstrong morals about killing and yet they're the *most* self sacrificial of the whole Batfam. it reminds me if that BruDick panel where Bruce very angrily tells Dick that Dick trying to kill himself still goes against the killing rule and it's just as bad? like that being the argument *Jason* of all ppl has to resort to is so good. he never thought he'd be arguing *for* a no kill rule but if it makes them listen then fuck it.

i also think it's fun if Jason goes to questionable lengths to stop Tim and Cass from going out when they're hurt, or going on missions that would get themselves killed. Cass wants to face down Shiva? Jason is drugging her and tying her to their bed. Tim has a concussion and three cracked ribs? Jason's straight-up handcuffing TIm to Jason's wrist so he can keep an eye on him. bc he loves them. he does not trust them. loving them means knowing he can never trust them and he has to go to any lengths to keep them alive. and he will not listen to them argue about it whatsoever. sometimes love comes with control, yk. it's such good food.

SO UNSERIOUS!!!! i genuinely find it nonsensical to worry about the man who, while receiving hard news, is otherwise fine and entirely safe and not the child that up until this point had been Human Trafficked and Kept Captive in a Cult and only shared this life-changing piece of information because it would help neil. like first of all. it is never the child's job to fix the relationship with the parent so jot that down, but even with that put aside, kevin had so much to lose!!!!!!!!!!!!! he could be sent back to the nest for once, could be accused of lying, could be hated by his only living family member, could be blamed for kayleigh's mistakes, and that's all without taking in consideration kevin's only experience with men coach wymack's age has been tetsuji moriyama, FAMOUS child beater and the reason kevin was human trafficked at all in the first place

How did they cover up Charredtail's death?

I was hoping nobody would ask LOL cuz I ... wasn't sure myself, tbh

the most obvious route they could take is that it was self-defense. it was an open secret that Charredtail had a bit of a crush on Cobaltshine, who didn't get along well with Hornetstar, and while nobody suspected her as a murderer in a serious enough capacity to make an accusation- especially since it could have easily been explained as her losing her footing- it was Very obvious that she wasn't openly negatively affected by her death at all. though she did, of course, panic behind closed doors (as it were) and stew in guilt, not because she actually misses Cobaltshine or anything but because she knows she's not a murderer and is afraid of the ways the whole ordeal has changed her.

anyway, the lie they could potentially spin, with everyone more or less knowing the tense charred-cobalt-hornet thing, is that Charredtail genuinely suspected his mate of killing his crush and got violent about it, giving Hornetstar no other choice. obviously they'd all hate to deface Charredtail's memory like that, but Marshlily and Fireflash had to make an executive decision since Hornetstar wasn't ready to talk about it. Marshlily is very, very invested in keeping the peace, so Fireflash followed her lead and made that official statement. however, Marshlily did promise herself that someday, when all of this is over, she'd make everything right by him. it haunts her, but she has faith that someday she can clear his name, even if he never forgives her.

that said ... distrust has been building among GhostClan. not too much, not for a rebellion, but there are ... theories ...

so who knows how well that's believed?

Hello! I know it has been a very long time since you added anything, but could you write something related to Price of safety? Maybe related to the one-shot you wrote about the different ending of Siege and Storm featuring Marya? (I'm always dying for more "The Saints are actually all friends and help Sasha in hsi quest for safety for Grisha" content!) I love your blog so much!!

I have a couple of short fics I'm almost done with for the Grishaverse, though unfortunately none of them involve the Saints. I'll try to finish something and post it soon (I've been on a more of video game fic / original work kick recently, so Grishaverse (which is a lot of work and not much fun, especially considering the things I have almost finished are largely Alina POV, which is bad for my mental health in larger quantities) had to take a back seat.

But to make me more motivated to write, I'll post the premises for some of the fics I'm pretty far into:

Retelling of season 1 of the show but Kaz is Aleksander's son and all of the Crows are Grisha

Baghra's attempt to convince Alina to leave ends... poorly for Baghra. Shenanigans ensue.

Aleksander overhears the fight between Mal and Alina after the Fete and goes to see if she's okay, unintentionally preventing Baghra from doing her "big reveal".

Mal and Alina do find a bit of privacy (wink wink) during their time in Novyi Zem. This causes some challenges for Nikolai and Darkling that they probably should have forseen when chasing after two a couple of teenagers.

And a few that are slightly less finished/fleshed out:

Luda Lives AU (I have the idea and a few scenes but can't quite pin down a plot)

Alina is Aleksander's daughter AU (same as above. I have a few posts about this, but it's one thing to make a bullet point post and another to write a compelling story)

Show!Inej centric story that is unfortunately (but IMO completely justifiably) very mean to Kaz and Jesper and I'm kinda scared to post because of that (might get mixed into some of the other ones, because it has more of a side-plot vibe than a stand-alone story vibe)

The public perception that humans have of vampires tends to vary from person to person.

Vampires, both half and full, are generally more accepted in modern society, although there's still a bit of discrimination against half-vampires due to the fact that some humans don't know how to perceive them (half-vampires can survive off both fully human diets, or fully vampire diets, although it is advised to have a mix of both to maintain good health).

Back in the day (medieval times and whatnot) vampires were both hunted and attacked if exposed. A human would never win a fight one-on-one with a vampire, so small human communities were formed to take down vampires. This continued into the late 1970s until it became illegal to attack vampires without a warrant (because the government saw a profit in blood banks and knew that vampires had longer lifespans than humans so they could milk more money out of them for longer! Yay corruption!).

Conservative areas are more likely to have a distaste towards vampires, whereas more liberal/democratic areas don't really mind them.

Politics aside, vampires in Catalyst are essentially an allegory for the existence of queer people, and human beliefs on them are formed as such.

As for diseases: yes, vampires can carry disease.

The disease itself does not affect them greatly. It may make their skin peel a little bit, but other than that they don't tend to feel any serious pain or other side effects.

A corpse cannot be affected by disease, it can only carry it. Vampires are technically just a bunch of walking corpses.

This makes for an interesting experience when it's pandemic season (which is every hundred years. Crazy for humans, not so crazy for vampires). Vampires are usually put under stricter regulations by the government, being forbidden from leaving their places of residence out of fear of spreading whatever disease was affecting humans at the time.
