Sometimes at work it's not my place to tell people the things I want to say, and I find I often go home at the end of the rougher days to stand blankly in my shower and tell myself over and over what I wish I could pass on.

This accomplishes very little, and mostly just gives me a tension headache, but through it all I think I've narrowed myself down to a few solid things I'd like to tell people the most.

You can't change people. Not permanently, not for anythig. You can support them, encourage them, love them, give them tools and opportunities and resources, but you can't make them change. They can change themselves if they want to, but they have to want to, and they have to want it for themselves, because they're the only one that's certain to be with them forever.

For better or worse, you make your own choices, and blaming bad choices on others doesn't only work to absolve you of responsibility- it also robs you of control. Because if you say you only did something because I did something, then you arent only shifting blame- you're admitting that you cannot control yourself, that you cannot truly make choices for yourself, that other people can control you- and as long as you truly beleive that, you'll keep facing the same problems over and over. You'll keep letting others dictate your choices, because you'll beleive that they can, and you'll never be free.

White knights on horseback are from fairytales. Nobody can help you if ou're not willing to help yourself. To try, to put the dirty work in, to belive you're worth that effort- Act as though nobody is coming to save you. From a struggle, from pain, from bad relationships, from yourself. And when you do save yourself, because you will, because failure here isn't an option if you want to survive, you'll never find another dragon that can keep you prisoner.

Don't say anything to anyone that you wouldn't want them remembering forever.

Doing the right thing in bad circumstances is hard. It's the hardest thing. But if you make the choice to do that hard thing anyways, despite your fear, you'll go on the rest of your like knowing that you're the sort of person who did something.

The present only seems the hardest because the past I over and the future hasn't happened.

There's so much joy ahead of you, the kind you can't possibly understand until you see it yourself.

The responsibility of consequences is often disguised as the power of permission. "I won't do this if you help me", "I'll work on my anger if you do this for me", "I promised you I'd quit, but can I have just one?". The unspoken question is, "Can it be your fault if this goes badly?"

You cant make someone love you the way you need to be loved. Someone can love you very much and still be bad for you, even if you love them very much in return. Two people can love each other very, very much, and try their very best, and still be wrong for each other.

Sometimes being near to someone changes you, even in good ways, and the people you become don't fit together as well as the people you were.

Caring takes work. Even if it's real. Especially if it's real. And the most important gestures aren't the grand, poetic, songs-and-flowers-and-tears moments; they're getting out of bed even though you don't want to. Paying attention to things you don't enjoy. Scrubbing pans, or opening a window, saying "thank-you", or helping carry groceries into the house. The small things fill the big things- without the small, boring, mediocre things, big things feel hollow.

Thrre is honour and dignity in humble work.

If you are a cruel and spiteful person, then you will find every place you visit to be full of the same cruel, spiteful people. This is not because the world is as cruel as you, but because everywhere you are, you will be disliked. This is the curse that comes with being persistently cruel and spiteful.

If you are a kind and ppsitive person, you will repeatedly encounter kind and positive people, because as they grow familiar with you, they will be happier to have you near. This is the reward of being a kind and positive person.

When splitting paths with loved ones, briefly or forever, aim for your last words to always be "I love you".

quietly peaking your head out from the bathroom, you can't help but grin when you see your husband shirtless and sound asleep on the bed, tanned back on display as his face is turned away from you. he's unusually still, back rising with deep breaths as he dozes.

you calmly slide on your robe, footsteps as soft as you can make them as you sit on the bed. the mattress dips under your weight, but seokmin still doesn't move.

he must have been tired out from being out in the pool all day. seokmin did scream like a little girl when he saw how big the pool was—he had grabbed your hand and pointed to it like it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen, and you couldn't help but get excited too, if only because of your husband and how cute he was when he got excited about something.

"baby?" you question softly, hand lazily tracing down seokmin's spine. he stirs a little, something between a groan and a gasp slipping from his lips.

deciding to wake him up in a way you haven't before, you lean down to seokmin's warm skin, pressing a kiss on the mole that adorns his back. another mumble comes in return, and you decide that it's not enough, bringing another kiss to his lower back.

seokmin's responding a bit more now, body writhing slightly under your teasing. his eyes are still shut, but his eyebrows furrow together as he starts to grip the sheets with his hands.

"seokmin? are you awake?" you bring your hand to his hair, pushing the strands away from his sleeping figure. he doesn't respond, but you can feel how fast his heart is going by your hand on his chest. seokmin's burning up at the touch, and you know why—it makes you chuckle just thinking about it.

"baby...don't make me kiss you more..." you're mumbling against seokmin's skin as you kiss the mole on his back again, and he's finally jolted awake, eyes wide and mouth slightly parted as he trembles slightly at your cold fingertips on his back.

"i—you know i can't...lovie, you can't do things like that," seokmin's a stammering mess now, bedhead as charming as ever as he pouts at you.

"you weren't waking up, though. i just had to make sure you didn't die on me." you cup seokmin's cheek, thumb rubbing across his lips languidly. he softens like butter because of your touch, leaning into your hand like a eager puppy as he kisses your wrist.

"do you like it?" you ask softly, letting seokmin pull back your robe as you reveal the new sleeping outfit you got for him. he had been on cloud nine ever since you had announced you had bought it, and had been begging you to wear it ever since.

his hands delicately run across your body, admiring the soft fabric of the flannel pants as he smiles, grin making your insides turn flips at the sight of it.

"of course i like it. you look beautiful." seokmin's tone is reverent as he places his hands on your thighs, leaning in to kiss your lips. he ghosts over them with the lightest kiss you think he's ever given you, just to tuck your hair behind your ear and slide his hand around the back of your neck.

your heart stills with the commanding movement, and seokmin notices it, chuckling softly as he pushes your head towards his. blush is violently spreading across your cheeks, and seokmin knows he's won, raising a singular eyebrow before kissing you again.

"and that's what you get for trying to eat my moles off of me while i was sleeping." seokmin teases, and you can't help but laugh, hands in seokmin's hair as you kiss him in return.

"every kiss was worth it though. i got to hear your pretty voice, and see your 'maldives tough guy' side go bye-bye." you flirt back, and it works perfectly; seokmin is caught off guard, dark brown eyes widened as his cheeks flush.

"i'm going back to sleep." seokmin mumbles with a pout on his face, and you break out into laughter, spending the rest of your night with a small spark of pride in your chest that you got your husband's 'tough guy' facade to break, even while he was sleeping.

How did the Chinese century come to pass? How did China not only survive the American century, but come to thrive in and usurp it?

The PRC's strategy evolves with changing conditions and times but a few factors have remained the same. The CPC maintained that the vanguard party remain the most important political force in the country. Unlike the USSR, which ended up depoliticizing many important arms of the state such as the red army, the various institutions of the Chinese state remain in control of the communists, especially the PLA. This allows the DotP to defeat attempts at counterrevolution should any one part of the state or country attempt it. The state apparatus itself is also fairly bottom up versus the USSR's more top down organization. This means that the top brass must pass through innumerous trials, elections, and practice of policy in order to become leaders, helping to prevent Gorbachev-yeltsin type situations*.

The CPC learned and continues to learn from the experience of not just the soviets but also other socialist experiments. They saw how open the USSR was with exporting (their version) of revolution and how it lead the imperialist bloc to attack them relentlessly and took a much more stralthy path of economic revolution. This ties into the material conditions and political context which came from the end of the GPCR and the beginning of GGKF. China's greatest strength at this time period was labor and manpower. They utilized the biggest contradiction of capitalism, that is, profit seeking, to lure foreign investment and capital into the countey to build factaories, lines of logistics, give technical documents and technologies, and training the Chinese proletariat in management, sciences, technologies, and etc., sowing the seeds for Chinese economic independence. The result was the successful development of the urban centers, the goal and strategy of the CPC to begin socialist construction in the first place. During Xi Jinping's tenure, the mass line and rural development is being brought forward as the future path of development for the country. How this will pan out we shall see but the recent successful conclusion of the anti-poverty campaign shows great promise.

It is that understanding and utilization of that primary contradiction under capitalism which allowed them to skirt by unsanctioned, rarely attacked, and let into numerous world organizations. The imperialists thought that the PRC had liberalized and would soon become yet another exploitable third world country. They, however, overlooked the points brought up previously on the political side. By the time that the tide had turned against the PRC, it had already developed to a point where it can be largely independent**. The imperialists bloc had come to depend on Chinese manufacturing and logistics, while simultaneously selling off expensive their own industrislization (keeping only what is needed to maintain a strong imperialist state) and laid off expensive first world technical experts and labor. The decades that this has happened has allowed China to become virtually unsanctioned unless the imperialists shoot themselves in the foot.

The PRC's economic position in the world allows them to be in a unique place to dorectly threaten imperialism from an economic standpoint, that is, by allowing the global south am alternative path to develop without letting them be shackled to the innumerous strings that come with imperialist "development". This stage is currently ongoing. During this stage, we're seeing the nature of reform change. Large parts of GGKF are being reversed or has already been reversed. A renewed effort to being the mass line and marxism back to the forefront is emerging and a new generation of marxists is set to take power in the future. Will the PRC remain following international law? Will the PRC become far more internationalist like the USSR was? Time will tell. Whichever line will become victorious is up to the Chinese people and the CPC to decide. What is certain is that the current mode of international politics carried out by the PRC is increasingly becoming antagonistic and untennable.

Stanley has began a ritual. It began out of no where, when he wanted to be close to his brother, wanted a bit of attention but he wasn't sure how or what sort of attention...

It happened after a shower, hair still wet and growing into what he knew was becoming a mullet;

"Can you brush my hair?" He asked, surprised himself. The hair wasn't so long he couldn't do it himself but he still asked for the small favour.

Stanford looked just as surprised as him and so the routine began. Every now and then he'd ask for his hair brushed after a shower but he began to notice how Ford slumped when his hair was already brushed and so it became an everyday thing before they knew it.

"Can you serve me the food?" It was Stanley's turn to be surprised as his brother asked for the little favour. He is a grown ass man, not injured at all and thus not needing aid but still Stanley agreed without a second thought. That, too, became their routine.
