got questions about Reiki and Zhou Xing for you, those are 1, 4, 9, 14 and 25 :D

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

This is hard bc half of it is just like. brainworms.

For reiki, it’s a lot of things I think. Sobo twins being the only remotely relevant characters to have a gemios was something I latched onto early on, and revisiting them, I just enjoyed the nuances of their characterization. I like how realistic their issues with communication and the clashes of their personalities felt, but also their motivations and desire to prove themselves made me very emo about them. Reiki specifically actually came after I got insane about the twins and then rewatched their episode a while after, and something about his personality just really endeared me to him. Using that to further gemios trio interactions and then him and axyl as a duo endeared me so much more to him and the way they bounce off each other is very dear to me, so now I’m just like mildly insane about him. so sorry dan I still love you too I prommy

For zhouxing, he’s also just an insanely endearing character to me. I like how he’s introduced as kinda an egotistical, lazy douchebag, and then there’s immediately so much more about him. When it comes to something like beyblade, I always find myself gravitating more towards the more normal guy characters because I think it’s interesting to explore that in such an insane setting (hence why bird kazami immediately became one of The Guys Of All Time to me) and i like the way zhouxing contrasts against whz with that. And then seeing his genuine passion start to grow is really sweet, and I love how his appearances afterwards show him as such a genuinely caring and sweet guy like OUGH he’s so cutesy. I love that he’s set up as a shallow asshole and then you find out he loves and cares for his friends so much and he uses his charms to get people to open up and calm down and feel better and like. my god he’s so lovely. that kind of character is just very comforting to me and pairing him with axyl and being able to focus a lot of that side of him has been very fun for me and they r a massive comfort ship for me for a reason

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

I’m trying to think of like. specific things. Just like generally, I think I’d wanna see both of them as video game characters. Specifically I wanna be able to befriend and chat with zhouxing but I want reiki to be a party member. just to see how it would go i think it’d be fun. It might just be because I’m extremely deltarune pilled rn reiki with toby fox writing I feel like would be peak. OH YKNOW I was thinking about if there were aus I’ve put these guys into and I have wakfu-ified both of them. I think I’d wanna see zhouxing in the wakfu universe more though. he reminds me a little of kris krass. man I need to finish season 4-

9. Could you be roommates with this character?

Probably not lmfao. Like maybe zhouxing because I think he could be more functional than me but I fear he’d probably get sick of me. Reiki though. I dunno about that. I don’t know if we’d butt heads or be best friends but either way I’m not sure how much of a functional brain we could form together. I’d probably have to step up and be the more responsible one but then he’d probably get annoyed with me and then we’d both be annoyed with each other. I’m enough of a control freak sometimes that I would probably be too dan-like to him and we would bother the shit out of each other trying to actually run a household.

14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.

Reiki I tend to draw in athletic wear a lot because of him being the more physically active of the sodo twins, though I could definitely also imagine him with a grungey kind of style. I could see him legitimately dressing kind of cool but he always has to have that “teenager who is only JUST starting to experiment with their look” awkwardness to him yknow? I mean most of the time I draw him is during a period where he is just starting to experiment with his look so like. Fits I guess. The only other way I could describe his look is that I think he would have the most tboy style that a cis man could possibly have (although, tangent, I have thought abt trans sodo twins before, bc they do have some kind of transmasc vibes tee bee eich and also because I think it would be really funny if they both came out to each other around the same time and then were immediately like “WTF YOURE COPYING ME WITH THIS TOO GET A LIFE MAN” (but they r otherwise supportive). although,,,, in the other direction I could see tfem dan,,,,,,,,, reiki is definitely always masc but,,, much to think about there)

For zhouxing, the first thing that comes to mind is just what pops up on google images when I search up “cool men’s fashion” trying to dress characters. He dresses like a men’s fashion magazine in my head. That’s unfortunate for me to do to a canonically fashionable character but like. I do nawt know that many styles that well and any time I try to come up with alt outfits for characters I STRUGGLE and zhouxing is kinda my culmination of all that.

if I were try to come up with something for him, I could see him enjoying a lot of bright colors. that’s like the best I got.

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

For reiki, it’s hard to recall, especially since I’ve seen fusion way before any other installment of mfb. I know one thing for me as a kid was like, their first first appearance they were kinda annoying and I was ready for them to get dunked on by Kyoya, but later when I realized they were doing zodiacs with a lot of the characters, I was interested to see what they would do with Gemini but kinda disappointed with the approach. Not just cuz they were really minor and unimportant characters but bc I wanted the concept of duality tied with Gemini to be explored thru something more than just having it be twins and calling it a day.

For my later impressions though, I don’t really recall how I felt abt them when I was getting back into mfb (though I think I was more aware of how much I really love their designs) but when I did start to get into the sodo twins, I actually favored dan because I preferred his levelheadedness compared to reiki’s hotheaded attitude.

This is not the case anymore, and that’s because when I went and rewatched just their episode a couple months later, I realized that dan was like, lowkey kinda being a dick and I empathized a lot more with reiki, which led to him becoming my favorite sodo and now finding him incredibly endearing and silly.

For zhouxing, I recall even less tbh. I mean I definitely thought he was a dick at first I think cuz that’s kinda how he’s set up, and I think most of his first appearances I wasn’t really sure how to feel about him. But once he started joining in on the whz shenanigans I definitely appreciated him a lot more. His interactions with Madoka when she was really upset with GGG live rent free in my brain and I think that’s when I really started to love him. This has really only grown for me he is my beautiful little meow meow and I love him very dearly.

Rock and Read vol.089 -キズ(KIZU) Reiki interview (April 2020)

Interviewer: What did you talk about in your last interview?

Reiki: Last time, I talked about my upbringing, how I first got into music and my journey to Tokyo.

Interviewer: I heard that you used to be pretty rough back in the day… (laughs)

Reiki: Nah, I’m not rough at all (laughs). But some people say that.

Interviewer: Interviews can sometimes make you realize things about yourself that you don’t normally notice. Like, “Oh, so this is the kind of person I am.”

Reiki: Yeah, that happens a lot.

Interviewer: Some people don’t like that, so even when they do interviews, they dodge questions or avoid giving clear answers. But your band’s vocalist is the type to actively engage in interviews.

Reiki: Oh, you're talking about Lime. He’s the kind of person who speaks first, a man of his word, he walks the talk. But I’m not like that, I struggle with putting things into words. Even if I have something on my mind, I don't always know how to say it.

Interviewer: Still, being in a band with someone like him must make you more aware of things you hadn’t been able to put into words before or had only vaguely thought about, right?

Reiki: I guess, yeah. But it’s not like Lime tells me to be more conscious of those things. If anything, being in a band with him has helped me become more confident. It’s more like he encourages me to do whatever I want freely.

Interviewer: So, Lime tells you that?

Reiki: Yeah. That’s why I pretty much do whatever I want in Kizu. From the beginning, I just wanted to do cool things without thinking too much, and Lime told me, “That’s fine.” Well, I do think people like him, the intellectual type, who think deeply about everything relating to the band are cool (laughs). But for me, trying to be like that wouldn’t feel natural.

Interviewer: So you’re not the type to think things through as much as he does?

Reiki: Yeah, it wouldn’t feel like me.

Interviewer: Then why do you think Lime, who’s so different from you, tells you to “just do your thing”?

Reiki: Hmm… I guess it’s because he accepts me for who I am. Lime and I originally had a senpai-kouhai (senior-junior) relationship, and he was kind of someone I’d go to for advice. Before Kizu, I used to talk to him a lot when I was struggling. Like, “Am I really in a cool band right now?”

Interviewer: What do you mean by a “cool band”?

Reiki: I started a band because I wanted to do something cool, but at the time, I felt suffocated. I was caught up thinking about what would be well-received or what's trendy at the time. I used to ask Lime for advice a lot back then. But now, in Kizu, Lime does all the thinking, so I feel like I have the freedom to do whatever I want. And in the end, me doing things my way actually benefits the band… or at least, that’s how I see it.

Interviewer: What part of you do you think is good for the band?

Reiki: Umm… maybe my mischievous side? (laughs)

Interviewer: Hahaha!

Reiki: I know I shouldn't be the one to say that about myself (laughs). But even though I'm mischievous, I take it very seriously. Like, if it’s for the sake of doing something cool, I’ll do whatever it takes. On the other hand, I really don’t want to do anything uncool.

Interviewer: Wanting to be cool, wanting to do cool things, that’s what you value most when it comes to being in a band?

Reiki: Right. I want to be cool.

Interviewer: Can you explain what "cool" is? Like, your own definition?

Reiki: Hmm… I guess it’s about not bending who you are? People who stay focused on one thing and pursue it relentlessly, that’s cool, right? And that applies not just to bands, but anything in life. Also, I think it’s cool when someone is either completely loved or completely hated—people who go all in. For bands, it’s those with a unique style, an aura that only they have. People like that are cool.

Interviewer: When did you first start looking up to people you thought were cool like that?

Reiki: Probably around middle school. At first, I thought Hide (from X Japan) was the coolest, so I'd try to copy him. Then there was Kurt Cobain (from Nirvana). I think I admired people who were doing things I could never do at the time, people who were the complete opposite of me.

Interviewer: The complete opposite?

Reiki: Yes. I used to be really timid, very different from how I am now. So in a way, I started a band to overcome that weak version of myself. I wanted my past self to look at me and think, "That’s so cool." So yeah, I gathered a lot of things I thought were cool and and that's how I became the Reiki I am today. But I'm not perfect yet, I’m still searching.

Interviewer: You understand yourself well, don’t you?

Reiki: Eh, you think?

Interviewer: You said that your true self is actually timid. But not only are you aware of that—you also understand that it’s the reason you’ve become who you are now. Normally, people would want to hide that kind of thing. It’s not something they’d admit.

Reiki: If you put it like that, I guess it's true. I think being in a band changed that for me. I realized I don’t have to hide the version of myself that I used to hate. It’s not something to be ashamed of. In fact… I want our music to reach people like that, people who are like the version of me I used to hate. People who are too timid to do what they really want. That’s why I became "Reiki", so that people like my past self may think, “I want to be a cool person like that too”

Interviewer: I see… You know, talking to you now, you seem completely different from the impression I had when we first met.

Reiki: Oh yeah?

Interviewer: Last time, I interviewed the whole band together, and out of the four of you, you were the only one who gave off this aggressive vibe.

Reiki: ....

Interviewer: To be precise, you had a big attitude.

Reiki: Hahahaha! Seriously?!

Interviewer: These days, you don’t really see band men acting cocky like that. Everyone is really polite and well-mannered. But to me, that actually feels a bit off. Like, wasn't the whole point of starting a band to rebel against that kind of adult society?

Reiki: Yes, that's right! I'm in a band because I don't want to do all that.

Interviewer: That’s why I thought, “This guy is interesting.”

Reiki: That’s so embarrassing (laughs). But I guess, I do see that as part of what’s “cool.” It’s not like I’m trying to have a bad attitude or anything, but it’s just not cool being in a rock band while sucking up to adults and acting all polite.

Interviewer: But right now, you’re being really honest and open (laughs).

Reiki: (Laughs) Well… it's a one-on-one, and I’ve heard a lot about you, Higuchi-san (the interviewer), from Lime, so I figured I should just talk normally without being weird about it.

Interviewer: I appreciate it (laughs). So, in a rock band, you want to be seen as someone who is cool.

Reiki: Exactly. Especially in front of fans, or rather, when I go on stage, I want to be undeniably cool.

Interviewer: Even if your calf is in pain? (laughs) (On February 14, Reiki tweeted that he had torn a calf muscle, but insisted that as a rocker and guitarist, legs don’t matter and the show must go on.)

Reiki: That really hurt! (laughs) But I still wanted to be cool. That’s what makes me happiest—being the version of myself that I love. So if that’s the case, I ignore the pain and get on stage.

Interviewer: But that means you’re constantly keeping yourself on edge, right?

Reiki: Yeah… I think I’m always on edge. Well, it's been a habit since I was little.

Interviewer: Don’t you ever wish you could be cool without having to be on edge?

Reiki: Yeah. In reality, I'd like to be cool without being on edge…But I think I’ll get there someday. Right now, I’m still in the process of absorbing and collecting all sorts of things, so I have to stay on edge.

Interviewer: So, for Kizu to be a cool band, what do you think is the most important thing?

Reiki: First and foremost… Lime has to be the coolest one.

Interviewer: Not you?

Reiki: I think my role in the band is to be like a thorn—something edgy and distinct. But for that to work, Lime has to be the coolest one, the boss. My job is to figure out how to stand out next to him. If he weren’t there, I wouldn’t stand out either, I wouldn’t be cool. It’s the same as how Hide was in his band.

Interviewer: I see.

Reiki: That’s my ideal image of a band. I have this insanely powerful vocalist called Lime next to me, and without him, I wouldn’t shine. That’s why the vocalist is the most important. To make the band as cool as possible, we have to build our performances around Lime. No matter how hard I play the guitar, if the frontman is just messing around, the band won’t be cool.

Interviewer: And from what I can see, he’s still figuring out himself what kind of frontman he wants to be.

Reiki: Yeah, I see that too. He changes with every show, for better or worse. The band’s coolness depends on how cool he is, so in that sense, he has the toughest job. I just get to do whatever I want next to him.

Interviewer: That makes sense.

Reiki: Anyway, I just want Lime to be cool. That goes for the band, but also just him as a person, I want him to always be that way… I’m kind of a fan of Lime.

Interviewer: Huh?

Reiki: I mean, I’m a fan of him when he’s on stage. And I'm not just talking about his appearance or performance… Wait, is it lame for a band member to be saying this? (laughs)

Interviewer: No, no, you’re good! Keep going (laughs).

Reiki: As I said earlier, he’s the kind of person who speaks first, someone who puts things into words right away. And usually, those kind of people are all talk. But what makes him different is that he always follows through on what he says. He makes it happen. Sometimes, the way he goes about it isn’t what you’d expect, or his words might change along the way, but in the end, he always does what he originally set out to do. I think Kizu's fans are probably attracted to that part of him too—that he truly walks the talk.

Interviewer: You admire him so much that you understand the feelings of the fans.

Reiki: That's right. Or rather, I’d say I’m a bigger fan than any of them are (laughs).

Interviewer: Just how in love with Lime are you? (laughs)

Reiki: Hahaha! I guess it’s because of our original senpai-kouhai relationship. It’s not just about liking him, it’s more like I really respect him. He’s like this towering figure of a senpai. If I have a problem, the first people I talk to are my friends. But that’s more like venting over drinks, like “What the hell do I do?!” It’s not really asking for advice. If I still don’t have an answer, then I go to my parents. And if that doesn’t work either, I go to Lime—my last resort person. He’s someone I really look up to. But because of that, I don't consult Lime with small problems.

Interviewer: So, it seems like he’s less of a bandmate and more of a life mentor.

Reiki: You think so? I mean, I know that talking to Lime makes me feel better, but that’s why I only go to him when I’m really in trouble. Even when I do, I hesitate a lot before reaching out. I just stare at my phone, thinking about it.

Interviewer: I’m going to say this on purpose, but that sounds like a girl with a crush, doesn’t it? (laughs)

Reiki: Stop it! I'm not like that… No, but I guess (laughs) Yeah, okay, I guess I’m kind of in love with him.

Interviewer: Earlier, you said you really look up to Lime, but can you put into more words what things make him attractive?

Reiki: I wonder…it's really hard to put into words. But… I feel like when we're together, it's like the band can reach way bigger heights. When he says, “We’re going to do this,” he makes it happen. I guess that's what makes him attractive.

Interviewer: So for you, he’s kind of a charismatic figure?

Reiki: I think he’s just really confident. But with that comes a lot of pressure too. If he doesn’t follow through on his words, no one would follow him. I can tell that sometimes the burden gets to him.

Interviewer: By the way, do the other members have a different relationship with Lime than you do?

Reiki: Probably, yeah. I think they're actually closer to Lime than I am. I mean, they're just friends as bandmates.

Interviewer: So they don’t have the same “girl’s heart” that you do? (laughs)

Reiki: Stop saying that! (laughs)

Interviewer: Then would it be fair to say he's a father figure, like a substitute dad?

Reiki: A substitute dad, huh… Well, I guess that makes sense, since I don’t have a father.

Interviewer: I actually think you and Lime have a lot in common.

Reiki: Is that so?

Interviewer: He’s definitely a theorist and the boss type, someone who pulls people together to make his vision a reality—he could be an entrepreneur.

Reiki: That's true.

Interviewer: So even if he wanted to make a living through music, he could be doing it more efficiently. But instead, he deliberately chooses the inefficient, unprofitable route of being in a band. In fact, he seems deeply committed to it. Which suggests that, like you, he has a strong admiration for bands.

Reiki: Yeah, I think so. Maybe what we have in common is that we both love visual kei and rock bands. He can’t separate himself from that world because that’s where the version of himself he wants to be exists.

Interviewer: That's right.

Reiki: And I guess that’s why he’s still chasing that dream with me. One thing Lime often says is, "I want to change this scene." I think that’s both his ambition, and also... a kind of complex he has.

Interviewer: A complex?

Reiki: Yeah, this is something he talks about a lot too, but visual kei just doesn’t get much recognition from the general public. But Lime and I both fell in love with music and bands from this scene, so there’s this feeling of wanting it to be more accepted, of wanting to prove, "This isn’t all we are." Also, honestly, I don’t think Lime is quite as amazing as I make him out to be. Just like me, he has strong aspirations and is trying to become someone he admires. He may seem like a multi-talented guy, who can do it all, but I don’t think he was that way from the start.

Interviewer: Yeah, he seems like the type to work tirelessly behind the scenes.

Reiki: Exactly. That’s why he deliberately puts his goals into words, to push himself into a corner and make sure he follows through on what he said. It's how he's trying to become someone truly cool. I think that’s what I admire about him. He always follows through on what he says.

Interviewer: So it’s not just that you blindly admire him, you truly understand him.

Reiki: You think? Maybe it’s just my own interpretation.

Interviewer: What I first found interesting in him wasn’t his musical style or strategic thinking. It was what’s deeper, behind all that—his desire for someone to understand his true self.

Reiki: Through music?

Interviewer: Yeah. But he also has this clumsy side and he can't express his true self honestly. So, he hides it in this vessel that is Kizu, quietly hoping that the people who truly understand will find him.

Reiki: I see… That may be true.

Interviewer: That’s his charm, and I think that’s also why you like him so much, Reiki.

Reiki: So Lime and I do have something in common. Like I said at the beginning, I’m doing all of this to prove to that past version of myself that I can be cool. So in that sense, we’re pretty similar.

Interviewer: In other words, both of you are making music as a way to deal with something inside you. Of course, things like audience size, image, and staying relevant in the times are important, but that’s all secondary.

Reiki: Exactly. Wow, this is turning into a really interesting interview (laughs). By the way, I want to start a revolution while I’m still alive.

Interviewer: Huh? That's sudden (laughs). But a “revolution,” that’s a pretty big statement (laughs).

Reiki: Whatever it is, I want people to say, “Because of him, a new era began.” Even if it happens after I’m gone, I want my words, my music, to be engraved into history.

Interviewer: Why do you want to become that kind of presence?

Reiki: I think it’s because I feel frustrated with the world—society, the way things are, all of it. And deep down, I want to prove myself. I guess that’s really what it comes down to.

Interviewer: So, in a way, you want to prove your existence to the world? To be acknowledged and accepted?

Reiki: Yeah. By doing whatever I want, I want to rise to a level where I can actually change the times.

Interviewer: So, in other words, being connected to others is something incredibly important to you.

Reiki: Huh? Is that what it means??

Interviewer: Your existence is validated through the presence of others. In other words, you don’t believe your sense of self can be fully established on your own.

Reiki: ………………That might be true. I usually tell myself that I don’t care what others think, but in the end, everything I want to do depends on other people…

Interviewer: It seems like you have a strong desire to be accepted for who you are now.

Reiki: That’s definitely true. I want to be accepted—accepted exactly as I am. I’ve said it earlier, but people who can be themselves without compromise are the coolest. Instead of forcing yourself to conform to others and putting up with things you don’t want to do, if you keep staying true to yourself—no matter how unaccepted it may be at first—eventually, people will accept you. You could even become the one defining what’s right. That’s how I want to leave my mark on this world.

Interviewer: You want to leave proof that you lived.

Reiki: Yeah, I do.

Interviewer: Well, there is one sure way to do that.

Reiki: Huh? What is it?

Interviewer: Getting married and having children.

Reiki: Ah, that is beautiful! Yeah, that really would… mean leaving behind a part of yourself, wouldn’t it? But I think it’s more than just that… Maybe I just really want to be close to someone?

Interviewer: What do you mean?

Reiki: I want to be someone who stays in people’s memories. I want to be inside their hearts. It doesn’t matter if they love me or hate me, I just want to matter to someone. I guess… what I’m saying is I want to be close to people?

Interviewer: But you don’t actually want to be hated, do you?

Reiki: Of course I’d rather be liked. But if it’s just “kind of liking” me, I’d rather be hated. If someone truly, deeply loves me, then that’s different.

Interviewer: That’s… the same desire that Lime has, isn’t it?

Reiki: …... Come to think of it, that's true (laughs). We’re aiming for the same thing, Lime and I.

Interviewer: That’s why Kizu has a unique appeal that other bands don’t. You don’t want half-hearted admiration. You want people who will love you forever. A band where both the vocalist and the guitarist feel that way…

Reiki: Not too common, huh?

Interviewer: I think every band, deep down, wants that kind of connection. But even if a band grows big enough to play at Tokyo Dome, that feeling isn’t necessarily fulfilled.

Reiki: Right. Once you reach that level, you start wondering how many of these fans really love you?

Interviewer: But at the same time, you wouldn’t be satisfied with just 30 fans either.

Reiki: Yeah, but if it were just 30 people, at least I’d know for sure they were real. For me, knowing that someone truly loves what we do is what matters most. I can understand the loneliness that artists at Dome level feel. I think Kurt Cobain must have felt that way too. That's why I want KIZU to grow even bigger together with the fans who genuinely love us.

Interviewer: Since Kizu was formed, you’ve always been a band that connects only with those who truly support you. I always thought that came from Lime’s core beliefs, but through today’s conversation, I’ve realized that you feel the same way too.

Reiki: Yeah. After talking today, I think I understand why I want to be in a band with Lime (laughs).

Interviewer: So basically, Reiki, you’re looking for a pure connection with people.

Reiki: Huh? Is that what this means? No, no, that sounds kinda lame (laughs). I'd rather be yelling, “Screw everyone, just die!” That’s way cooler.

Interviewer: Yeah, that attitude is definitely more rock and cool. But would you really mean it when you say “Die!”? What about your true self? You're someone who can't lie about it.

Reiki: Ah… yeah, yeah, right. That’s something I think about sometimes. Like, I’ll say things, but then I’ll catch myself thinking, “That’s not really me, is it?” …Wait, I don’t want the fans reading this (laughs).

Interviewer: Hahahaha!

Reiki: But yeah, I do think about it sometimes. Even when I’m partying hard or making a scene, there’s this feeling that… this isn’t really what I want to be doing deep down. Like, it doesn’t feel instinctual.

Interviewer: That’s the part of you that used to be timid still inside of you somewhere.

Reiki: Yeah, probably. But at the same time, I’m usually the one to start the craziness. When I go all out, everyone else joins in, and it turns into this contest of who can get the wildest. But then, there are moments when I suddenly come to my senses, like, “Wait… is this really what I want to be doing?” That happens a lot.

Interviewer: And those moments, don't they feel a little lonely?

Reiki: Yeah, they do. I think, deep down, I’ve always wanted someone to understand me… but no one ever really did. Not even my parents. When I’d say, “I want to do this,” they’d just brush it off with a “No” or “I don’t care.” They never really tried to understand me. So, I guess I started acting out—saying harsh things, doing bad things.

Interviewer: So the partying and chaos… it’s kind of the same thing?

Reiki: Probably. That’s why, the morning after drinking too much and partying, when I’m stuck in bed with a hangover, I start thinking, “Why do I do this to myself?”

Interviewer: That’s a bit sad, isn’t it?

Reiki: Yeah. But at the same time, I don’t hate that part of me. Being reckless feels kind of cool, like I need to go to that extreme. But then, I suddenly start wondering… Am I actually a more serious person deep down? Like, maybe I’m not really someone who does this kind of stuff.

Interviewer: You mean, you weren’t naturally born like this.

Interviewer: I think that the fans probably see through that side of you, Reiki.

Reiki: Ugh, I hate that (laughs). But… yeah, there are fans who really see me for who I am. And I feel like they’ve figured me out. That’s why it pisses me off sometimes, like, “Stop looking at me so closely!”

Reiki: But when I completely lose confidence in myself… in those moments, I actually find myself feeling grateful for those fans. No matter how recklessly I live, I think there’s always a part of me that gets saved by them in some way.

Interviewer: That’s exactly what makes your band so compelling. Because you weren’t born this way, your music carries a yearning.

Reiki: I see… it makes sense when you say it like that (laughs).

Interviewer: Your true self will never disappear, and you can’t deny it. But at the same time, you’re striving to become this ideal version of yourself. I think that's something the fans can relate to.

Reiki: That's nice. It would mean they understand the real me. But… is it really that obvious? (laughs)

Backstory

Syphe does not remember his younger years. They have been completely wiped out, and his memories begin rather starkly in Ziphia's First Terrace. From there he made his way to the Third Terrace while evading child services. He was found there by Atalan, an Underground gang leader who taught him to move around the capital without being caught and how to survive as a street rat. When a gang war broke out, Atalan sent him away with instructions on who to contact in an emergency. This was the start of Syphe's career as a criminal himself, however young. He'd wander the city, evesdropping on every conversation and selling information for a living, while crashing out at a Wiroski warehouse to steal broken parts, repair them and resell them in the Underground. This led to him meeting both Tumaril, a young engineer with a specialization on illegal weapons, and Dajsper, child of Wiroski Enterprises's CEO hacking into his father's things for the Underground. The three of them struck an alliance, and eventually Dajsper convinced his father to take on Syphe as a ward. Syphe was thrust from the criminal world into the celebrity spotlight. Keeping as friendly of a profile as possible, he began to gather information into the imperial and nobiliar families as well. He did not stop being Wraith, though it became more complicated as Tumaril's old employer was killed and a different gang took control of all their things. This led Syphe, Tumaril and Dajsper to strike an alliance with a vigilante duo, Shade and Eclipse, as well as Dajsper's wife. With their help they got rid of the invading gang and took control of the area under their own banner, the Unseen. More or less at the same time as Syphe caught the atttention of the Imperial Family, the Unseen got integrated into the Undernet with Syphe and Shade as its main representatives

Ugh same!!! I feel like James is lowkey the BEST listener like he has some adhd energy going on fs but when it comes down to it making the people he loves happy is his #1 priority so if you need him to sit still while you cry on his lap and tell him about your day that's what he's going to do!! I'm very very glad my fics can provide a smidgeon of that experience for you <3

And my answer to your question is very wishy-washy because I have pinterest boards of fanart which I sometimes scroll through when I want to be sure I'm getting things right in my mind's eye, but unfortunately no fancasts have measured up for me! I will say I concur with the tiktoks I've seen of Reiky de Valk as James, he's not all the way there for me but as close a real-life person as I've seen so far! James is my big strong guy (swoon), I imagine Sirius to be slightly smaller with really high-contrast coloring (kinda pale but his hair and eyes look more striking for it), and I picture Remus as a bit gangly and having kind of fine features (also sometimes he has freckles in my head but sometimes I forget lol)

same anon about meditating- but that sounds really interesting! so what kind of spirituality is it? you mentioned an earth dragon communicating with you, so is it spiritual in the sense that it's nature you are connecting to, or is it something else entirely? what drew you to meditation and when did you begin it? sorry for the questions, it just sounds very interesting! i love hearing about this kind of deep, introspective connection people form

No worries at all, I love these questions! Feel free to ask more if you're interested. For me personally, spirituality is looking beyond the physical and what you perceive with your five senses. It's about discovering your true self and working to integrate it until you embody it completely. It's realizing that you're so much more than just a physical body. And it's realizing that you can create your own reality, and you can break free of limitations.

When I say I connected to an earth dragon, I mean an actual dragon that is an earth elemental. There are all types of dragons, but I connected with an earth dragon today because earth dragons are great at grounding you in the physical realm, and I needed his advice on a physical problem I'm having. I actually just connected with dragons recently after receiving some cool signs. Like first off, it's the year of the dragon. I ended up changing one of my pfps to a dragon on a whim. Then I was doing cloud scrying and I kept seeing dragons constantly in the clouds (by this I mean that the clouds were shaped like dragons because the dragons were leaving me imprints of themselves for me to see). And then I found out my Reiki guide is a dragon, so I'm now looking to work with dragons more closely. They're awesome to work with because they can help you with literally anything.

I actually have been trying to connect more with nature lately though. For me, that involves talking to trees, getting more plants, learning more about nature spirits, and being more respectful of the natural realm. Trees are actually extremely knowledgeable and great teachers. I was at the park yesterday and sat next to a skinny tree. I asked it if I could connect with it (you should always be respectful and ask), and I got an immediate headache in response, so I was like lmao okay fine, I get the point, you'd rather not connect. Which is fine because there are other trees that absolutely do want to talk to humans and would be happy to share their knowledge (and I'm not saying it's easy to talk to trees, but it can be done with time and practice). But yeah, nature spirits are cool as fuck.

I started meditating when I had my spiritual awakening. That was somewhere in 2022. The more I learned from spiritual teachers, the more I learned that meditation was essential to becoming more conscious of myself and strengthening my spiritual practice. A quiet mind also makes it easier to receive messages from spirit (and when I say spirit, this could mean your true self, your spirit guides, your guardian angel, your ancestors, etc.).

Wait. After the last tags. Did I talk about this yet.

Do yall know im a love witch?

This started long before I changed my name.

I like people. Like I used to go on dates just to meet people. And when you like people you want them to be happy. So I don't actually use materials. I don't pray. I do something lots of spiritual people would say not to do. But I learned something about myself a lonnnnng time ago

So I actually decided it for my path when I met my reiki master. I used to read about witchcraft and shamanism. I felt drawn to the druids. I told her that I wanted to change my bones. I told her about how I wanted to become exactly what I wanted to be when I wanted. She called me a shaman. A druid. An alchemist.

Druids change themselves.

Alchemists change the world.

A shaman is just a witch with a different name tbh

Sorta. I guess. There is cultural importance. And I shouldn't dismiss that. Cultural practices are important.

But shaman is a term that stretches the world. Similar to witch.

But more importantly. She gave me reiki for the first time ever. And my body shook. You can ask fi. They saw me. I told her I didn't know what was happening. She told me "You have A LOT of energy. Like a lot" I just said "oh..."

So! What I do. Is I use my energy. And I learned reiki. Which is basically a tap into the universes unconditional love.

BUT! That! That unconditional love?

That's why I decided.

I didn't know if I'd ever been in love before. And it sucks because I got married and it scared the fuck out of me. It actually gave me a full on panic attack

I kept questioning what love was.

And love scared me. I don't know why. I maybe do. I talked about it before.

But ok. When something scares you. Something humans do us we take on it totem. We hold it to us to borrow the hold it has on us.

So I feared Love. And I feared Death.

Those were the things I held onto.

One day I started feeling love.

And that's when I changed my name.

But I've told that story alread.

I meet people. And I hear their stories. I ask questions. And I get to meet people through them too. Seeing the beauty in people? That's important to me. Really really important. It's a part of me I hope I don't lose

So I was reading about the internal family system.

It's an idea that feels true to me. That we all have these clusters of woven personalities. And they all interact with eachother in different ways. And by learning and changing these dynamics you can start to change things in yourself. So you are the version you want to be.

It's kinda silly and weird. But I can totally see it.

The point is. The small parts. All mix and make you.

In my personal practice. I don't worship death. I talk to them. It. It scares me. It's taken a lot. From me. And if it wasn't for that little kid living inside me it would have taken me too.

I talk to death because it scares me. I think communicating is how to conquer fear.

So I ask for things. From death.

And I talk to people. Dead people.

I told my therapist all about it expecting her to say it was crazy or unhealthy. But no. She told me I needed to be nicer to myself. Because it's actually really healthy.

I'm not really religious. I am more of an animal than a person I think. Not in a derogatory way. But a...

I worked out all day three days ago. I took breaks to build my playlist posted here. But something told me to go for a walk. I heard the crows. I was sore. I could barely move. But I did.

I thought to myself "I love the crows. But where are the ravens? I'd love to see a raven" I turned the corner 5 minutes? Later. And down onto the drugstore. Above the bench that man was playing guitar on. A raven landed. It looked down directly at me. Then it turn and faced the direction of my apartment.

It could only be a good omen.

Do you know what my birth name was? What it was supposed to mean? Messenger of God.

I dont think im a messenger. Not at all. I actually changed it because it's not what I wanted.

But you know crows are messengers of the spirits. Ravens of the gods. The God I have on my wall.

I need to stay on my path of love. There's power in that. Everything is saying important things are happening.

An oracle on tiktok said "You're on a train. It's the one you want to be on. Hold onto the train. Don't try and control it. Just let it happen. Trust that what you want is at the end. You worked so hard to get on this train. Enjoy the ride"

I'm just enjoying the ride. Everything is out of my control. And that's ok. But something important is coming.

I hope no one reads this. But if you do. Know that everything will be ok. And im right here. Enjoy the ride.

Are you still doing your LMT business? If so, what do you recommend to actually be rich rich with it? Sell things with it, of course, but anything else you do with it? Or do you personally venture out of massage therapy for different streams of income?

I am not no. I still have privet clients I see every week, for extra income as I work a full time in the service world. Due to my other plans for life, I had to pause any future investing in LMT business. If I were to, I’d start by building a strong and consistent clientele basis. Perhaps split my time between privet own clinic vs. partner with a company (I’d suggest local, an office or firm)

Aside from massaging, you could collaborate with an oil brand (or a skincare brand overall) where you get commission for selling said brand via promotions online (sponsored ad’s) or in person purchases. I know my mom had a 12 year partnership with the brand Darphin when she had her clinic.

You could offer classes, but I’d market them as a ‘learn how to massage your partner’ (basic) so you don’t have to deal with any conflicts concerning educational boards (as you’d need a license to teach as well as materials that may not be accessible without said license, at least it’s the case for where I’m based)

My dream with LMT was always to open up a small clinic, perhaps collaborate with a yoga instructor, a physiotherapist, Breath work or Reiki practitioner, where we’d share a floor or building, offer bundles and discounts. With a strong Social media presence, where I’d do educational videos on pain relief, prevention, flexibility/stretches and so on. While also designing my own oil blends for aroma therapy, body oils, butters and scrubs sold in house and online. It’s a huge take down that would require a nice starting fund, time and the interest to go the distance. For in the long end, I’d what this clinic to expand into a spa-like privet membership-offering facility with more LMT’s working freelance under my brand (I’d then be à LMT plus manager, Hihi)

I’ve stepped away from LMT (aside from the few weekly clients, only 1-3 max every 7-14 days) to focus on saving money for different ventures and have decided to return to college for my Masters. LMT wasn’t lucrative enough while working under others, and where I am in the moment doesn’t allow for me to start my business as I want (too risky as I wait for citizenship). It’s a great side hustle for me as I charge around $70-80, and have two expenses (oil and transportation). My main job allows me to have more freedom, funds and the security of insurance, paid sick leave and another impressive reference for my resume in the future.

Dragon Lotus Chp. 3: SHINee Fanfic

Heyllo everyone and welcome back to another chapter of Dragon Lotus. I'm not gonna waste any time with an intro. Just gonna jump right into the story. Links to previous chapters below. Enjoy.

CHAPTER THREE

I sit on the couch across from my grandpa and wait for him to explain this big secret that my mom has been keeping from me.

"Okay. I'm ready. What's this all about," I asked.

There's a brief pause before he speaks. He takes a deep breath and begins.

"Where shall I start with this my dear...? Oh, I know. Let's start with our family history. History is still your favorite subject, am I right," he asked.

I nod in surprise. He still remembers that? His dementia couldn't be that bad if he can remember little things like that. Right? Wait... that's not the main concern here. I need to focus on learning about this secret.

"Well, our family is descended from an ancient Japanese tribe called the Oconee. They were a proud and prosperous people. But this tribe was not like any other tribe of that time. They had a uniqueness about them that set them apart. That uniqueness was their power to conjure up what is called "reiki". Reiki is a powerful aura that can project an elemental power from a person's birthmark. Each and every descendant is born with one."

He began to roll up his sleeve. In the center of his forearm was a birthmark in the shape of a dragon. I look to my mom and without saying a word, she moved her hair aside and revealed her birthmark on the back of her neck. I was in shock. Both of their birthmarks looked like the birthmark I have below my left palm, well almost. My dragon has a flower coming out of its mouth. My grandpa continues.

"There are four different types of birthmark that represent the four delegations of the Oconee tribe. The Dragon. The Lotus. The Fox. And the Sea Turtle. Each delegation has a reiki based on the elements of nature. Dragon- fire, Lotus- wind, Fox- earth, and Sea Turtle- water. Our ancestors generally only used reiki for ritualistic purposes but as time passed and nomadic tribes tried to conquer our territories, reiki began to be used as a defense against invaders. But nowadays, we restrict our reiki for cultural use only. Using your reiki otherwise is forbidden among our people. Okay, do you have any questions at this point? I know this is a lot to take in."

I have to be honest. My interest was peaked. I mean, I have hidden powers. How awesome is that? I was still curious so I asked the two main questions on my mind. " Yeah, why is my birthmark different from yours and mom's? I have a combination of the Dragon and the flower," I asked.

"Its called a lotus my dear, and I can't really explain why your birthmark is the way it is. Your nana had a lotus birthmark, so I'm guessing the birthmark gene combined and skipped a generation and now you have a dragon lotus birthmark. It's very rare for descendants to have these types of birthmark, but that's what makes it so unique."

"Okay, cool. Second question. How do I summon my reiki?"

"I can answer that," my mom says. " You know the school I have registered you for, Shalima Academy? Well, this is no ordinary school. This school is specifically for the descendants of the Oconee tribe and part of the curriculum is to show you how to summon and control your reiki. But the school has strict rules. No using reiki outside of the classes designated for it and no using reiki outside of school; with the exception of using it at home with family during traditional ceremonies."

"Alright, got it," I said. Part of me was still upset with her for keeping this from me but she must have had a good reason to do it; so I just let it go. Oh well, I guess I'll learn more about reiki once I start school.

We all talked a little longer about our family history as the night went on. I started to get exhausted from jet lag and learning this new secret about myself. I got up from the couch and kissed my mother and grandpa goodnight and headed to my room. I closed the door behind me and sighed. This is alot to take in. I start getting into bed and the thought of school sent a wave of nervousness over my body. A million and one questions started plaguing my mind. "What is this special school going to be like?" "What if I can't fit in?" "What if I'm that only student that doesn't know how to summon their reiki?" I sigh in frustration. Stop worrying about it Adajoon. Just take this new adventure day by day. One of your strengths is adaptation. Just be you and don't stress yourself with "what if". After that I was able to calm myself enough to fall asleep.

As I was sleeping, I heard my door open. My back was to the door so I didn't know who it was. The person sat on the bed next to me and started petting my head. I knew instantly that it was my mom. I pretended to sleep as I heard her sigh and begin to speak.

"I'm so sorry for keeping that from you, sweetie. I honestly didn't know how to tell you. Part of me was afraid about how you would react. Another part of me was scared you would see yourself as a freak, and I didn't want that for you. But I still feel so guilt and selfish for not telling you. I hope you can forgive me." I could hear her on the verge of tears. "You must think I'm an awful mother for this."

I couldn't take her beating herself up about this anymore. It was killing me inside. I turned toward her and brought her into my embrace. Her body tensed up in shock but then relaxed into the hug. I could feel her crying into my shoulder.

"I would never think such a thing. You are my mom and I understand that you were only trying to do what you thought was best for me. And I love you so much for that."

I rub her back to comfort her tears. She soon calmed down enough to look at me. I wipe her remaining tears away and smile at her.

"My lovely Adajoon, what on earth did I do to deserve you," she said as she kissed my forehead. I giggled in response and that giggle was followed swiftly by a yawn. My mom laughed at my tired expression.

"Okay, hun. I'm gonna take that as my cue to leave and let you get your rest. Sleep tight," she says as she starts to leave my room.

"Mom," I suddenly say.

"Yes hun," she asked.

"I love you."

"I love you more my sweet dragon lotus."

I love to learn and share my experience with others. I’m a Leo, and my Mercury is in Virgo so I love to do research, study new things, experiment, and I have a more “logical” mind. I got into personal development/coaching around 2016 and found manifestation around the same time. Although it was mostly law of attraction based teaching (which I don’t agree with anymore), I spent years studying different concepts, learning different methods, getting certified in different things.

I found law of assumption and shifting a few months ago and have radically changed my mindset. Although I learned a lot over the years, so many of the coaches and manifesting teachers I used to follow just ended up making up rules and limits where we don’t need them.

(sidenote: in the tapes in december, right around winter solstice, there’s a tape where fakekatie woke her up super early to tell her that Blond caused her accident; in september “gina” told her/me that my cervix was broken & i’d never be able to get pregnant again right when i got back from italy)

And my neck is damaged, and my back is damaged. And that her daughter is like...off kilter, if she’s trying to destroy my business.
