Got this idea from a discord server I'm on; based off the old "is your refrigerator running?" joke/prank call. I referenced a few old 50s-styled fridges since they fit the vibe of Earthbound; and I already have an appreciation for the rounded, sleek look that appliances and vehicles of that era had.

it look me a while to get the motion lines to something I was close to being happy with; still uncertain about how it turned out.

For those keeping up with the ttcc situation, Sheriff Cranky has stepped down.

You can find his reddit post here . It is very lengthy but I say take what you will from it. And for those unaware of what happened, recently multiple (24+) former staff came out to discuss the mistreatment they experienced in the team. You can find the post here . If you prefer a video format you can also find streams by Smirky and Stuck the duck discussing what has happened as well. As well as a video on youtube by Bonus Goat. Many of these cover the same topics but with varying reactions to the situation.

In this time, I believe our efforts should go into supporting those that are and have been affected, as well as the current team that is working to fix what has happened in leadership. It will be difficult, but I know there are people passionate and willing to push for change.

☀️ IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!! 🌙

This is my gift to myself :) I drew my favorite guys ever.

For a while I've been itching to draw the wedding outfits from this post again. I made them up on the fly as I was drawing, but I actually really like how they ended up turning out. They're super cute!! (though, yet again, you can't see almost any part of Dedede's outfit... 💔)

But then I couldn't get it out of my head to make a companion piece for it, with their mirror versions. And so. I did. What they have going on is a little bit messy, though...

Marriage or divorce!! Take your pick.

Do you have anything concrete for Jayclaw in BB? Curious about him since we never really learn how he dies. We don't really know much about him, besides the fact he's reasonable, fast and had a physical fight with his brother over a small mess.

Funny enough I have had a crystal clear image in my head of who Jayclaw is for years, and have not had to change it at all. He's a total background character but for some reason I just know what this dude's about.

Jayclaw was a dancer, a FANTASTIC one. He played Jingleshells, which are a full-body instrument made of netting and percussive beads. His performances were playful and dramatic, and he reveled in pulling off impressive movements while still keeping rythmn with his chimes.

His friend group was essentially a little band. His brother Owlnose played drums, his friend Podlight sang, and that connection was how he was introduced to Curlfeather. It was impossible to resist his charms once he started courting her-- he was fun-loving, romantic, and absolutely captivating.

Curlfeather loved him so much that sometimes it was hard to look at him. "I can't be seeing you right now, you're going to make me grin like a fool."

"Like it would be so terrible for you to brighten my day, gorgeous?"

Losing him was sudden, unexpected, and heartbreaking. I don't know what it was specifically, but I do know it was a freak accident and quite violent. He left camp one day in the prime of his life, and came back dead.

I don't think his passing planted any seeds in Curl's mind that weren't already there, but the combined stress of grief and the loss of her emotional "rock" was the catalyst.

In fact, at first, believing Frostpaw's bad dream had been a vision was probably something Curlfeather actually believed, or otherwise was something she came up with for non-nefarious reasons. Like maybe Frostpaw believing her vision "killed her mi," and Curlfeather meant to soothe her by explaining that visions simply predict the future and that his death wasn't something she caused.

In any case, after his death, Curlfeather was driven towards acting on her ambition. That's Jayclaw! Trophy husband who died ❤️

going insane over the pitt (binged it in two days) (dont do that) but one thing im not seeing anyone mention is that Langdon seems. lowkey racist? he shows mel and whittaker a level of patience he didnt show trinity, he mostly ignores the nurses and samira, and he steals drugs from a black man that he can easily pin the theft on. i dont think hes violently or overtly racist but. idk

i mean yeah!

i think the show is big on demonstrating biases that the characters have, and i think that all the white people on the show are racist to some degree, just like white people in the real world (robby and whitaker also have clear moments this season). as with the show's treatment of women, there is the question of how much was this intentional vs. how much is this the side effect of a white writers room. in either case, i think the differences in langdon's relationship dynamics and the level to which he uses his awareness of his own white privilege to his advantage is interesting.

he says the family of the young boy who ate the pot gummy will be fine because they're white (which feels like it would also be a comfortable reassurance for yourself and your own family's potential fate as a white addict diverting drugs). and he knows that his, a white doctor's, word will be taken above willie, a Black alcoholic's - so like you said, he frames him as dealing his prescription to get what he wants. he uses his public-facing self-awareness to disguise how he plays that in his favor.

he also like intentionally leans into the ignorant white guy asshole shtick in his "namaste" exchange with princess. it feels like getting ahead of it to deflect real criticism - yes i'm a culturally insensitive jerk, but as a joke. not for real! except, well. it is interesting that his dynamic with most of the women of color he works with is like bantery-adversarial type affection: collins, princess, garcia.

his dynamic with perlah we don't see super much of - he asks her about kids' pets, and he has that inconsiderate comment about how they could really use dana back on the floor right in front of her and she flips him off.

and i don't know that he ignores mohan, exactly - face to face they seem to have a chill enough working relationship, like in the "we all have adhd" conversation. but we saw in the og script (and can i feel safely infer from mohan's lines) that he's one of the people laughing at her behind her back and calling her slo-mo. and it also is interesting that in that adhd exchange he asks if she can write the procedure note - i don't know how much of that is just a typical senior/junior thing, but it's the only time to my memory that we hear someone ask that, so he's not afraid of asking her to pick up some of his slack. (even when he knows that time is already a point of criticism against her.) hm.

and then on the flip, the characters he has the closest relationships with and ones that seem founded on like respect and need for their approval are white.

(there is another relevant critique here @ the show for how it stacks its hierarchy... okay so the charge nurses are both white and 2/3 attendings are white (and shen is written as the competent but comic relief new guy, we don't get to see too much of him as like an Attending imo) and the only woman of color in power we see is out-of-touch bureaucrat gloria. a) explain to me why you chose this direction to go in and b) one of your three non-patient Black women on the whole show???).

anyway, langdon's asshole-to-everyone-but-you thing with mel is already not cute to me personally to begin with. but it's even less so when you're like, okay, but out of the seven (thirteen if we count recurring) women in the cast, it's one of the three white women you give that grace to. the other two are cassie, who you speak of highly in a warm way, and dana, who you go to for advice and who you approach as a mother figure. he and dana banter, but as far as i remember he doesn't really throw any barbs at her like he does with the others.

i feel like i need to rewatch to see more of the whitaker/langdon dynamic, but he does pointedly choose whitaker (and mel) over santos to prove a point. these are the Good Newbies of which you are Not. and robby, you need to believe me over her—again, i am legitimate, i am more believable. and in general obviously he wants and needs robby to like him desperately.

anyway i am at the end of the day also white so i'm sure there's a lot more to be said and plenty of things that i missed too! i would really love to read more people's thoughts

Referring to Arya's development in Braavos as "brief descriptions" when her AFfC/ADwD chapters are almost entirely dedicated to showing us her training is...certainly a choice. Doing so to claim that Sansa has the more detailed learning arc? Pure clownery. You'd never guess from this response that the original post was about detailing Arya's training with the FM (using quotes from the book!) and makes no mention of Sansa anywhere. Notably this response provides no evidence from the books and makes objectively false claims; nowhere across five books is Sansa mentioned to have a grasp of High Valyrian but, of course, Sansa has to be handed every skill that Arya has without any page space dedicated to learning it. I know this is a wild concept, but Arya exists as her own character and not everything about her story can be applied to Sansa.
