Anthony Cowwley

So, about this from back in S1...

Cowley is both a place name and a surname. It's one with a pretty unsurprising etymology, since it means, well... a place where there are cows. Specifically, a meadow where the cows can wander and graze. But, as we can see, Cowley is not the alternate surname Crowley gives out. The show makes a point to show us that it's the otherwise non-existent Cowwley. Why?

It's interesting because the two letter w's in the middle of the word there mean that there are then two words you can make out of Cowwley. The first is obviously the word cow. The second is wley, an old-time-y spelling of a word that we've heard Crowley and Aziraphale use before: wily.

Flip it around, as is common with wordplay and is a thing in other parts of Good Omens, and Cowwley is Wily Cow. While the word cow refers to a specific bovine animal today, it originally more commonly referred to... the female ox.

Aziraphale must have come up with this one as, of the two of them, he'd be far more likely to describe Crowley as a wily old cow-- absolutely knowing that cow as a word can and often did, in the past, refer to oxen, and equating Crowley to the meat Aziraphale ate in Job's cellar. It's also made funnier by the fact that a cow is slang for a cranky woman.

Not only does this game have a worldbuilding style that immerses you so well into its world that its almost like youre actually living in it every moment, its got the most wonderful community surrounding it,,,

Im thankful for the people Ive met along my journey as I try to get better at a game that Ive only picked up almost a couple years ago- Id have never thought Id get what I have now.

I love this analysis! And it explains something that hadn't made any sense to me before. They obviously were connecting in the Flood scene. Even without the eye contact, Azi is trusting Crowley by allowing him to see how upset he is about it all. Yet, when they next meet in Uz, Azi is all vaguely charming and distant-- "Ohhhh, it's Youuuu. Dear Me. Haven't seen you since-- The Flood?" Like, what the--? But it makes more sense if it's because he didn't like feeling so attracted to "a demon", especially when the demon kept trying so hard to charm him! Annnnddd.... It makes more sense to me now why Crowley wouldn't trust Azi, and had to test him so intensely. They had previously been building a relationship (or rebuilding), and suddenly Aziraphale put distance there, as if they hadn't confided in each other or been friends at all. All because he was afraid of how eye contact with his attractive demon could affect him...!

Hmmmm.... Is that way Crowley/Bildad's hair is so wild? To be less distractingly handsome? And that beard? Could this even be part of why he started wearing sunglasses in the first place?

I love how Aziraphale is so taken with Crowley in The Flood scene that he is actively trying to avoid looking into his eyes... all while Crowley, equally besotted, keeps trying to meet Aziraphale's.

Especially when you consider S2's whole thing about rainstorm-adjacent eye contact...

We start with the one moment where their eyes do meet, as Crowley slips around Aziraphale, causing Aziraphale to be caught in his gaze for a moment. Aziraphale has to steady himself. He doesn't breathe for a moment. He blushes. He looks away as soon as he can get himself together enough to do so. One day, he's going to paint his house the color of those eyes, but in this moment? His heart is going to beat out of his chest just looking at Crowley.

Then, Aziraphale keeps looking ahead and only glances occasionally slightly to the side, trying not to make it obvious that he is not looking at a flirting Crowley-- who, for his part, can't take his eyes off Aziraphale. Aziraphale avoids fully catching his gaze, looking away quickly, just undone by those eyes enough that he's too shy to meet them.

We get to a point where Crowley is literally *leaning forward* to try to get Aziraphale to meet his eyes, but Aziraphale is dodging by looking anywhere else.

Even when exchanging a brief look of understanding, Aziraphale looks in Crowley's direction but not directly into his eyes.

This keeps happening for the rest of the scene, with Aziraphale not directly meeting Crowley's eyes through telling him about the plan for The Flood, the rainbow, the Oi! Shem! unicorn moment, etc.. It ends with them both looking up as the rain begins. It is a whole scene showing us that Aziraphale's attraction to Crowley makes him shy away from his gaze while Crowley's attraction to Aziraphale makes him seek out his eyes. This scene, though?

It is the only scene where this sort of dance is taking place, is it not? There's no scene after it like it.

By the Job minisode, this eye contact issue not only no longer exists between them, but we have the scene where Aziraphale asks Crowley to take his glasses off and look him in the eyes.

So, back in Mesopotamia... come S3, might we see that this sudden rainstorm of The Flood eventually forced them together beneath a canopy where they looked into each other's eyes and... vavoom?

this is just a thought piece no critiques on the show or fans just ramblings i've been thinking about

the "belos feared being seen as the monster by the humans and so became an enforcer of ideals that even he doesn't adhere to" idea is super popular and it makes sense given what little we know about the brothers. I know its not what the writers intended. they wanted belos to just remain unsympathetic and irredeemable as the christian white cishet man (which is fair, no discussion. personally i think owl house does a good job doing the catharsis thing without strawmanning, they avoid it actually by making belos a metaphorical bigot, treating luz like an equal despite being a young bisexual afrolatina girl which they could have easily made belos be shitty towards her to ground him as a real bigot, though you could also argue that it makes his stance confusing but thats a different topic)

anyway i feel like if they wanted to make belos sympathetic, and also to fit the fanon that is most popular to his past, the easiest way wouldve been to make belos a woman.

witchcraft has always been associated with women, used against them during the witch hunts. for a female belos it would work way better for her as a tragic villain who follows the rules plus the perpetuating the cycle despite living in a world where she didn't have to do this. this is why belos is a man because subtextually you're meant to understand he's probably benefitting, or at least able to avoid scrutiny, from the patriarchal system. you could have all the ideas of his past you want but ultimately he is a white man who lived in witch hunting colonial america

also disclaimer this is not a dig at white people or men or anything. inherently white men benefit from the system we live in whether they like it or not and oftentimes when the world does go against them its often from other factors like disabilities, sexuality, and other stuff. we were not given any reason to think belos is or has any of those things

Owl Tea Set for The Sims 2

"Who? Who? This is the Owl Tea Set, perfect for night owls sims."

This set contains two objects: a tea set from which sims can drink tea and gain energy (like a coffee machine) and a biscuits plate that you can put on the second slot of the tray from which sims can eat (it works like the Cookie Jar I made some time ago) with its own box and two type of cookies. Tea can be drink only from teen to elder, while cookies can be eaten by children too. The rar archive contains also the Kitchen Paper Towel plate and the shadow from LordCrumps. If you already have them, you don't need to put them in your download folder. Tea Set is in kitchen small appliances section of Buy Mode, while the plate is in kitchen-miscellaneous.

I made this tea set mixing together some sims 4 cc objects. Owl Mug is from Serenebluesims, Teapot is from ung999, Tray is from DOT. I made myself biscuits and the box. Items are not high poly.
