I can in fact not want to cispass, not want to be or look cis and still get annoyed at not passing, because guess what, not passing means I get treated as a cis man and I don't like that! It's a binary society, i will get treated as a man or a woman, no regular person is gonna look at me like yeah that person is binaryn't and treat me accordingly.

Cause yeah btw, transpassing is also a thing and a thing that I like and want for myself, so understandably I'd rather get mistaken for a trans person of any flavor than a cis person. Plus it's way easier to be like um actually i'm non-binary if they assume you are a trans woman than if they assume you are a cis man.

where I live, almost no one knows what gnc means. they may know what nonbinary is, but not gnc. and I know some ppl use inconformist as an identifier, similar to genderf*ck or gender bender

I interpret my brain as being gnc. because outside I often very hairy and have short hair and am bearded most of the time. it's sometimes seen as overmasc/hypermasc. but internally I know I'm not like that.

if I were more precise, "not conformist" would be the best term. just like not from "not binary" (or binaryn't) with -ist from "anti-sexist", forming conformisn't.

Gender nonconformity isn't always understood, which can really suck when you want to be out and proud about your non-conforming identity. I think too many people assume that the way you present is always a reflection of your gender, so they can't (and won't) wrap their heads around the idea of breaking that gendered expectation. It's even more complicated when you aren't any kind of binary gender.

Hopefully, more people will allow themselves to be educated about different identities and grow to understand that people don't always fit neatly into boxes just because they're a certain gender. - 💙💚

For all my binaryn't outside the binary folks, what's your gender, and what's your personal definition of that gender?

I'll go first

I'm transmasc nonbinary, and for me that means rejecting the inherent femininity that my mother seems to love reminding me rests inside me, it means reaching out into new styles and expressions, finding feelings of comfort and self-love that I was convinced didn't exist, because I was forced to be someone I'm not for so long.

It's an act of rebellion, an act of defiance against the social conduct that's been laid out for me, the life that I'm expected to follow because of my anatomy. It's tearing all of that down, burning it all to the ground, and building it up the way it should be built, by the builder living and embracing their true self.

From someone who was terrified of showing even the tiniest amount of hesitation or non-approval, this chapter of my life is about me breaking out of my shell, tearing society's chains to shreds, and living as the person I was always destined to be.

Cisn't Man Pride Flag

Cisn't (noncis): an umbrella term for anyone who is not cis*. It includes trans people, as well as other gender modalities, such as isogender, ipsogender, ultergender, exparium, utrinque, sensgender, adgender, and demitrans (sometimes demicis for some).

Usually, this includes binary trans men, and some non-binary men. However, there are other binaryn't men, such as intramasculine, extramasculine, transtidal, isotidal, transrainian, anonbinary, those with culturally specific genders that are not essentially nonbinary or binary, cis or trans, etc.

In the case of men who were AMAB (assigned male at birth), they can consider themselves as not cis due to being multigender or demigender, for example. They may or may not have xenogenders, neurogenders, or orientationgenders.
