John and Aaron's wedding day arrives. When Cain reveals the dredging of the lake has begun, a panicked John starts packing to flee.

Aaron catches John mid-escape but is reassured it's just pre-wedding jitters. The moment Aaron leaves, John continues packing and drives away from the village.

However, upon seeing the workers down tools and learning the dredging has been cancelled, John confirms he'll proceed with the wedding.

Later, John's plans are thrown into chaos when Cathleen, Aidan's mother, arrives with news her son has awakened from his coma and is asking for John.

A dreaming John is tormented by his nightmares as he envisions the new threat of Aidan interrupting his wedding.

Later, Aaron witnesses John with Aidan and mistakenly believes John still loves Aidan. He heartbreakingly calls off the wedding, despite John's desperate protestations.

Elsewhere, Lewis gets a phone alert that there is an intruder in his attic. When he realises it is Mackenzie, he wants an explanation from Ross.

Later, with Mack mysteriously absent, Aaron enlists Paddy as his best man, and the ceremony finally begins. Will everything go according to plan?

ok so my theory is:

aaron runs away to the bridge, robert chases after him. they talk/aaron is about to give in and robert says or does something that makes him question robert's intentions/motives. aaron says john is his future etc. and they get married. robert hangs around and is in the background of john's story. he eventually teams up with mackenzie/could be in danger of being hurt himself. then inevitable reunion down the line with aaron 'realising' that robert was right all along

was just reading up an article about kids who got adopted by their foster parents when they were adults and it made me tear up. it could've been such a good storyline for them

I know paddy isn't the most popular and I agree in a lot of ways, but in Jan 2016 he was able to sense that aaron was having troubles with Gordon returning, and saw that it was more than just petty angst, which no one else could see

watching the robert return episodes (actually knowing who he is) is driving me to insanity. it is so him. THAT'S HIM!!!!!!! THAT'S STUPID ROBERT!!!!!!!!! crashing the wedding of the love of your life is literally the most ICONIC romcom/soap opera move. it's parodied endlessly. and robert did THAT. and it works perfectly. it's the most robert thing possible to do the most romantic thing which is also the most insane thing. FIRST MOVE BACK THE MOST ROBERT MOVE EVER. MY DIVA!!!!!!!!!!
