One Direction Fans Refuse To Let Drama Outshine The Positives
It’s pretty obvious that 2015 has been kind of a tough year for One Direction fans - from Zayn Malik sensationally quitting to rumours that Louis Tomlinson is expecting a baby, there has been drama after drama after drama to keep the fandom occupied.
However, one group of fans refuse to let the negativity and scandals outshine all of the fab things that the remaining four boys do, and are instead focusing all of their energy on the band’s new political campaign Action 1D.
Action1DProject are a group of voluntary fans who have taken it upon themselves to promote the goals of #Action1D .
In an official statement, the group explain: “By instigating this campaign as part of Action 2015, One Direction and their team have provided the opportunity for new voices to be heard.
“What are we concerned about in our communities? How can we make the world a better place? Over 50,000 actions have already been recorded by One Direction fans online on equality, education and sustainable development.

“Action1DProject believes this is a great start, but we can do more. We are launching 100k for Action/1D to boost fan participation through videos, photos, and other media to help Action/1D reach 100k actions and beyond! To do this, we will be:
“Organising a Thunderclap on 12 August 2015, encouraging the sharing of ideas and actions through our social media channels at action1dproject.tumblr.com and action1DProjct on Twitter, providing background information on Action 2015 and Action/1D, establishing a dialogue on sustainable development and climate change which will continue after Action/1D ends.
“We want to give the fans a voice hear their thoughts and validate their concerns with the aim of providing a support network and platform to help fans take action.”
Something which we reckon all four of the boys would be seriously proud of.
For more info on the project, and of course how to get involved, find Action1DProject on https://twitter.com/action1DProjct and http://action1dproject.tumblr.com
Good luck, guys - it really is time to make the world a better place.

Action 1D Project
I think it would be nice to get the boys to actually see that we are supporting them in the Action 1D initiative.
I know a lot of people like to bring signs to the shows so I think it would be nice to bring an Action 1D inspired sign to the shows.
“I would like to live in a world where.... healthcare is available to everyone everyone has access to clean water...ect #Action1D”
Something short and on par with what the initiative is about.
Along with what louistomlinton said: Get #Action1D trending on twitter and watch the videos that the boys have posted.

To be honest, I not even nervous about this baby drama because no one is buying that Louis is going to be a dad, no one. They are mixing harry and louis names together, they are bringing Larry up. I can't see how this is anything else than one step closer to Larry co. They had to raise awareness of Louis name and they did. (And until we get the next big bitch slap or hug.) Let's focus on Action 1D as you have been doing a great job of! : ) #wearestrongtogether
Babyyyyyyy!! 😘😘😘😘 I love you so much. Thank you.
Everyone do as they've said and check out action1dproject here and on Twitter to help stay focused on what we can do to help make actual changes in our world today!

#action1D5yearDreams
Niall: When I was small, I had a desk. It was weird because I wrote on it “when I grow up, I wanna be a singer”. I, like, scribed it in and it’s still on the desk.
Liam: I used to sit on the windowsill and imagine things like winning the lottery. (...) whenever I went, my dad used to tell people I could sing.
Harry: When I was little I knew that I wanted to entertain people, I was a proper show off. I could always hear my sister’s music at the top of the stairs and I used to pretend to have a guitar and I’d perform in my mirror in my bedroom.
Louis: At school, I was always trying to play the class clown. I’ve always been that guy that made people laugh.
Zayn: (...) it’d be like 2-3 in the morning and I’d be singing full power at the top of my voice. My sister’d be banging on the wall going “shut up, you can’t even sing, go to sleep”...
...that was kind of, I guess, where the dream started.
5 years ago, five boys, after having auditioned as solo artists for The X-Factor got eliminated. 5 years ago, the same boys, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik, were called again and given the chance to re-enter the competition as a band. 5 years ago, these 5 boys took that chance and made it better.
5 years now, four number 1 studio albums (soon to be 5), 322 awards nominations, 188 awards won, 4 billions views on youtube, 24.2 million followers on Twitter and countless charity works, these guys made their childhood dreams came true. Now they are an inspiration for not only those in their fandom but individuals all over the world.
We of Action 1D Project firmly believe that everyone on this planet, no matter who they are or where they live, should have the right to dream and the chance to persue their aspirations. Inspired by this idea, and thanks to One Direction who taught us that sometimes our lives can change really quickly, we want to celebrate this day asking you to share with us your dreams for the next 5 years.
Send us an ask, submit, tag us in a post or tweet us using the #action1D5yearDreams hashtag, answering the following questions: What are your dreams and your inspirations? Where do you want to be in 5 years time?

TMHFN for Action1DProject’s LGBTQ+ week - SATURDAY

Takemehomefromnarnia is teaming up with action1dproject to campaign for their previously declared LGBTQ+ week taking place from August 3rd to August 10th.
What do we want to achieve with this?
Action - We want to give you, the fandom, a chance to make a difference to LGBTQ+ issues by using your own voice - or rather signatures - on different petitions.
Awareness - We believe that education is key in order for change to happen, especially when it comes to LGBTQ+ issues that many people are still drastically uninformed about. This week we will reblog one of our educational posts every day for you to read and explore.
Sign this petition “Unisex restrooms and locker rooms in public schools ” Unisex restrooms have been a big deal lately, but a lot of public schools don't have them. We want to start making a change on that - for transgender, non-cis and agender youth - by signing this petition on unisex bathrooms in public schools in the US.
Sign this petition “ Give marriage equality to all genders including non-binary genders, clarify gender equality laws to include non-binary genders and allow non-binary gendered people to have their gender recognised officially by law.” There are around 250,000 people in the UK who identify as non-binary.Under the Equality Act of 2010 discrimination against those citizens who have, are having or intend to have a medical or social transition to change their sex is made illegal. However this does not include all those who do not identify within the binary gender system. This leaves a large number of people potentially not protected by this act designed to bring equality for all. With only 53 more signatures, and completing this petition, we can help make a change on that.

Attention - We call you to contribute to Action1D (until August 5th) to demand active change on LGBTQ+ issues, addressing the leaders of the world. To do this, we suggest joining the different sub actions.
Awareness - We believe that education is key in order for change to happen, especially when it comes to LGBTQ+ issues that many people are still drastically uninformed about. This week we will reblog one of our educational posts every day for you to read and explore.
Sign this petition “ End Job Discrimination Against LGBTQ Americans” More than 1000 American and Canadian fans have signed up to participate for Rainbow Direction at the “On The Road Again” tour. We want them, and every other American citizen, to be safe, welcome and accepted at their day jobs.
“I am a…” Record a video telling Action1D that you are a member and/or supporter of the LGBTQ+ community or a Rainbow Directioner in less than 5 additional words! Upload all of your videos here

Sign this petition “Noosa Council - have a heart and support Marriage Equality” You don’t always have to go big to make an impact. Sometimes, even having just a regional council change their mind on issues like same-sex marriage can be an example for a country to go into active improvement - if not, then at least we helped the people of Noosa enjoy more equality.
This petition is only missing 29 signatures to be completed!
I Want To Live In A World Where… Record a short video, wearing your rainbows if you like, talk about your experiences and show support for inclusiveness, equality and eradication of discrimination on all grounds. Upload all of your videos here
This is the very last day of submitting videos or Action1D, so please consider contributing until 11.59pm GMT
Takemehomefromnarnia’s post on “TAKEMEHOMEFROMNARNIA SERIES: One Direction’s Abusive Relationship”
Due to some recent, more prominent happenings and this being an ever-occuring problematic in the fandom, we wanted to bring this - not entirely LGBTQ+-related - post back.
Please also consider joining the official thunderclap

Volunteers needed!
Living in poverty is a day in day out struggle, caring for the enviroment is a weekly project, providing food for your family is a monthly concern, providing children with an education is a yearly commitment, and being the person you are without fear of hatred is a lifetime's battle.
Action1dproject wants to be a 24/7, world wide project on both Tumblr and Twitter but this can only be done if we have support from our dedicated band of followers.
Our team has been working hard manning the posts since the project launched this past weekend but unfortunately, we have busy lives both at home and at work and sometimes we are not able to keep the project at the forefront of the fandom's mind.
This is where you can help out and play a role in the project!
We need a team of people to cover Twitter and Tumblr duties so we are running all day, everyday, over all timezones.
Duties will include posting asks, retweeting mentions, linking Tumblr posts, promoting our Thunderclap, promoting our video and fan art projects, monitoring 100k on action/1D and helping to translate posts and tweets so we can reach more people.
Whatever time you have, however little that may be, we would be hugely grateful for your support. You will not be alone as a member of our team will be available to contact to deal with queries or problems should they arise.
If you are interested or require further information, please leave us an ask in our inbox.
Thank you for your support. The action1dproject team.

Taking a stand against Discrimination and Bullying with Action1dproject
Monday 17 August - Sunday 23 August
This week Action1dproject will be focussing our attention on discrimination and bullying in all it’s forms. Whether it is race-based discrimination, workplace harassment, cyber-bullying or discrimination because of gender, sexuality or religion, we are taking a stand against these issues in the fandom and beyond.
We are particularly proud to be collaborating with World Almighty to present a series of posts throughout the week to raise awareness and understanding of other cultures, and discuss how we can reduce and prevent discrimination on the basis of nationality and culture in the fandom.
We are using the hashtag #TakeAStandWithAction1D on both twitter and tumblr so retweet and reblog, or use the tag to get your voice heard.
What does this have to do with action/1D and Action2015?
Though Action/1D is closed for submissions, the project and Action2015 continues ahead of two critical summits. One in September that will result in new global goals – a framework to end all forms of poverty, discrimination, and inequality. The other summit in December will set new climate action targets – a crucial step towards a safer planet.
In the lead up to these summits Action1dproject and World Almighty will continue to highlight issues that affect the fandom and the world. This week we want to discuss discrimination and bullying in particular because they have both significantly impacted our fandom and fans more generally. And the initiatives that have resulted to combat them have been inspiring.
Can I get involved?
Yes we would love to hear from you. Send an ask, tell us a story, or even a video about how discrimination and bullying effects you and your life, and your world. Just as importantly are stories about how you or your family and community have taken a stand on these issues.
Keep up to date by checking our Tumblr or Twitter and don’t forget to visit World Almighty to check out the wonderful work they are doing.
We look forward to joining with World Almighty and the Fandom to #TakeAStandWithAction1D

TMHFN for Action1DProject’s LGBTQ+ week - PETITION MASTERPOST
This week we teamed up with action1dproject to campaign for their previously declared LGBTQ+ week taking place from August 3rd to August 9th.
This is a collection of all the petitions we suggested you this week. A few of them need less than 50 signatures to be completed. This is where we can make a real difference, reach milestones that might be important to the respective communities.
Let’s help where we can!

End Job Discrimination Against LGBTQ Americans
More than 1000 American and Canadian fans have signed up to participate for Rainbow Direction at the “On The Road Again” tour. Many of them could or do actively face discrimination at their jobs and some cannot be out because of it. We want them, and every other American citizen, to be safe, welcome and accepted at their day jobs.
1611 1494 Signatures missing → sign the petition

Repeal Nigerian Anti-Gay Law
Every part of the world should be safe for LGBTQ+ people to live in. We can make a start with this call of action.
4814 4800 Signatures missing → sign the petition

Noosa Council - Have A Heart And Support Marriage Equality
You don’t always have to go big to make an impact. Sometimes, even having just a regional council change their mind on issues like same-sex marriage can be an example for a country to go into active improvement - if not, then at least we helped the people of Noosa enjoy more equality.
23 20 Signatures missing → sign the petition

“Demand Justice for Laura Vermont, A Transgender Woman Killed in Brazil!”
Laura Vermont, an 18-year-old transgender woman, was killed in late June 2015. São Paulo police are being investigated in the death. A medical examination showed Laura died by head trauma. Her body was found stabbed and shot in the arm.
Please sign the petition to demand justice for Laura! Tell the São Paulo police to conduct a thorough investigation into her death and to implement sensitivity training for dealing with trans and gender-noncomforming individuals.
505 485 Signatures missing → sign the petition
“Demand for Transgender rights in Ohio”
Transgender people often face bullying, violence, rape or even murder. There are still too many countries not protecting them by law. We’d like to start out by helping trans people in Ohio to maybe set a necessary example for the rest of the world.
894 891 Signatures missing → sign the petition

“KOREA: EQUALITY AND DEMOCRACY- LGBT RIGHTS”
Sometimes, when LGBT in a country people have a voice, but a new presidennt or government comes in, they are being quieted down, pushed to the background or even completely silenced. We want to help Korea gaining back their volume by signing this petition and help them reach 1000 signatures.
451 448 Signatures missing → sign the petition
“Stop Trans Reparative Treatment at CAMH Toronto”
When Leelah Alcorn’s case reached the broad public, the topic of conversion therapies became a lot more prominent and people started to demand this form of “treatment” to end. The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) Toronto is still practicing this form of treatment and we want to see it being stopped. We can start out in signing this petition!
4414 4408 Signatures missing → sign the petition

“Unisex restrooms and locker rooms in public schools”
Unisex restrooms have been a big deal lately, but a lot of public schools don’t have them. We want to start making a change on that - for transgender, non-cis and agender youth - by signing this petition on unisex bathrooms in public schools in the US.
238 232 Signatures missing → sign the petition
“ Give marriage equality to all genders including non-binary genders, clarify gender equality laws to include non-binary genders and allow non-binary gendered people to have their gender recognised officially by law.”
There are around 250,000 people in the UK who identify as non-binary.Under the Equality Act of 2010 discrimination against those citizens who have, are having or intend to have a medical or social transition to change their sex is made illegal. However this does not include all those who do not identify within the binary gender system. This leaves a large number of people potentially not protected by this act designed to bring equality for all.
37 31 Signatures missing → sign the petition

“Allow Australian same sex couples to freely get married”
Civil unions in Australia have not only not fulfilled their promise of equal rights and respect for same-sex couples, they appear to have made matters worse. Instead of eliminating discrimination they have entrenched it. Instead of removing stigma they have inflamed it. Instead of being a step towards full equality they are a step away. We can help LGBTQ+ Australians move forward again by signing this petition.
71 54 Signatures missing → sign this petition
“Petition President Obama and future presidents to start campaigning for pro-LGBT rights and the abolishment of any and all anti-LGBT laws”
The issue of anti-LGBT laws and discrimination against people of the LGBT community has only lightly been addressed with The Nation’s President, Barack Obama, as well as the Supreme Court. Let’s all help to promote and/or encourage Obama (and future presidents) to start campaigning for pro-LGBT/equal rights and the ban of any and all discrimination against any person based on gender, race, sexual-orientation, or any other personal attribute/characteristic.
26 18 Signatures missing → sign this petition

Let’s help where we can!
