Okay so I'm gonna talk about something real quick, it feels like ALL of the promotional media for punch out wii mentions gt's gem. Did they think the fight would be to hard if you didn't know about his tell? Why did they keep bringing this up?? Also he's really pretty and I like the way they draw his little clone thing and mac is here too and his confused little face is funny. (also does anyone know what he's saying in the first panel i really wanna know)

I really like this one but I always thought that the blatant use of his official art is a little jarring lol. But yeah I love how much of an absolute pimp he is here and also how his ass GETS GOT at the end and ALSO how he talks to the audience and references the game itself, that's WILD! Sadly I'll have to dock a few points for a lack of Carmen :'(

Anyways yeas I really like the portrait on the first panel and also this was a thing with Joe's comic but he also has an unnamed coach so that's neat. Also Popinski is kind of an inconsiderate asshole so that's fun lol

I love how the first panel has him being all intimidating and scary but every panel after that is just him being harassed. LET HIM LIVE, FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!!!! However much he beat the shit out of the guy in the last panel was completely deserved, paparazzi are parasites <3

a marvel rivals post in the middle of a hiatus (?)

it hasn’t been that long since i made my semi-hiatus post, but ive been drawing here and there on occasion. i’ve been really into marvel rivals and recently i just hit gm in this game :D

- on twst

to be honest, as much as i love twst and the fandom, i think drawing fanart for it so often (and it being the only thing i draw) made art really stale for me. ive been staying away from drawing twst because it gives me a lot of art block

i know that everyone that follows me is apart of the twst fandom, and out of the love of the game i still will draw twst artwork, but i think i might begin to deviate. it will definitely be more artworks outside of the twst fandoms

if my interests no longer align with yours that’s totally understandable! i don’t want to fill your feed with things you’re not interested in ^^;

i’ve actually started to create my own OCs with their own story and background (not related to twst). i’ve been thinking about posting them but it’s just not fleshed out enough to post imo

-thoughts about being an artist

so if you’ve read this far, thank you so much for listening <3. if you draw, or are an artist, i’ve learned some things about myself lately that i’d like to share.

i think the reason art got really stale for me was that i was pumping out fanarts every other day. and they weren’t just short sketches or anything, most of them are completed, fully rendered artworks. i didn’t genuinely give myself time to enjoy my art in it’s incomplete, sketchy forms. or where i could try interesting poses or facial expressions because i was focused on creating a “product”, something that’s perfected.

in this artwork, there was no lineart, it was just sketch and then color and slight render. this fanart was extremely fun for me to do and i enjoyed the process a LOT

another thing i’ve been struggling with is the idea of deviation. on this app and on tiktok i don’t get a lot of engagement from posting things outside of twst. it feels a little demotivating, and it’s no one’s fault, it’s simply how niche communities work. i absolutely love this fandom and everyone in this community has been nothing but kind to me :) however, because i kind of put myself in this box, it’s harder for me to feel brave enough to continuously post art of my other interests that i desperately want to draw.

even artists that i see on tiktok or on other social media platforms that are waaaaayyy more skilled than i am struggle to gain a following if they don’t exclusively post art for a fandom

so i’m probably going to start from the ground up, and just draw things i like and hopefully you guys will like too (and it’s totally cool if it’s not your cup of tea!). i still have a lot to improve on with my art and i think i need to lowkey go back to basics as well.

"The Ideal Man" in the upper left corner is a partially joking section name and is the Lucifer design i tend to aim for. i think of his face as "very round except for his pointy chin + his eyes are close together and take up almost the whole width of his face (except for in profile view, and except for when it doesn't look good)."

SO ABOUT HIS HAT. HIS HAT CAUSED ME SO MUCH CONFUSION UNTIL I THOUGHT OF IT AS A NON-PHYSICAL ENTITY LOL

short explanation: Vivziepop's art style, and especially Lucifer's design, is heavily based on what "looks right," rather than what is physically possible. so, my hat thoughts:

it's a droopy hat that folds down at the sides. so its brim droops in the back

BUT it also curves upward in the front, both to show his facial expression and in a way that sort of matches the curve of the top of his hair--

--so his hair doesn't look awkwardly cut off on the top

also, the top part of the hat has a smaller base than you might expect and then angles outward, with the front part always being taller and arcing down to the back

not every moment follows these rules, but they help me a lot when drawing him

(i often take liberties especially on the base of the hat and just do what feels right to me, usually based on similar characters i've drawn before -COUGHBLACK HAT FROM VILLAINOUSCOUGH- and based on where i sketched his head under the hat)

Hey man I just wanted to say I love your art sm, you’re one of the main artists who’s inspiring me to learn how to draw and get more involved with the Star Wars fandom again lately! Do you per chance have any tips on how to “get good” and establish an art style and stuff?

Sorry this took me so long to respond to, I’ve had a busy past few days. First of all though, thank you so much! Really happy to hear you’re learning to draw and getting in with the sw fandom more :]]

As for Art tips, I have a lot! But for the sake of not yapping away for twenty minutes I'll just rattle off the main stuff that worked for me!

For getting good it sucks to say but it is just practise and drawing from life. That doesn't mean it has to be boring though! Sometimes I draw stuff I think looks cool, sometimes I draw stuff with the specific goal of using them to later create something from imagination.

Life drawing (people) is particularly important to me cause I mainly draw people. However I tend to keep it very quick, loose and simple. Focusing in on practising a page of just one thing (expressions, sitting poses, hands ect ect) for just 5 minutes a day worked great for me!

Creating an art-style used to stress me out a lot as a teen, cause it seemed like every brilliant artist had a super distinct and unique one that they stuck to all the time. It was actually when I stopped caring about keeping myself boxed into a specific set of art rules that i started having more fun and accidentally ended up with more of a "style".

Still, I like to keep it open to whatever i feel like! Saturated or desaturated, line art no lineart, shapey or less shapey ect ect. I also love to pick things i love about other people's art and try apply it to my own! Maybe it's the colours they used, or texture they add, or the way they compose their drawings. Just falling in love with whatever your making is the real key to getting good.

Anyways, sorry for chattering away, I have no idea how helpful this actually is. If you ever want any super specific tips or help feel free to ask! And good luck with drawing dude!

Simple creatures.

It's less expressive in pose wise, buuuut they wouldn't really do anything out there. So it fits.

I actually wanted to draw these guys first, but never did. I should do colored lineart more, it's so fun. But I think I don't do it because it would take even more time.

(Though, I just do it more simply than color EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF THE DRAWING.)

Picture 1!

This is a "post workout" picture of Valerie. Somehow, her hair remains perfectly slicked down even after working up a sweat. How does she do it? And a little bonus Dan I added for fun later.

This one of my top three favorite drawings of Valerie that I've ever done. I have a vendetta against canon fucking up my girls hair in TUE (more on that at a layer date) and have made it my personal mission to make sure my girl eats. Every. Goddamn. Lewk. TF. Down. And i think she looks very pretty here. I dont have a very good graps of dynamic expressions yet but I really like how her features came out here. This is the most accurate to how she looks in my head (barring hairstyles which i change with my mood).

So the Dan sketch in this kne was actually done by my sister after several anatomical disproportionate attempts by me. The canon height chart actually has Dan being shorter than Vlad and like?? No? That makes no sense?? How is this boy half Plasmius with his Actual Dad being a Giant and end up shorter than both??? No??? Anyway if you look at the line up of the kids Valerie is actually the second shortest in the group (a distant second from Dani) so i played in that space and landed on "Woman who is a 5'3" stick of Dynamite and her Absolute Unit of a boyfriend" but the heights are subject to change based on what i think is funny.

An ill advised attempt at realism and though it didn't turn out that great, i feel like i learned a lot through the process. This image is actually from a scene from my multichapter fic that i havent written yet.

And another where i was thinking of doing a redesign of her suit, i was trying to go for a "winged Valkyrie" motif (get it? Like Val-imma stop) I do want to eventually come back to finish these, but we'll see.

How do you draw eyes and mouth expression and hands I'm a young well not artist yet but I really could use some guidance

I’m not too great at explaining but I’ll try

I’ve been told that my art style is like western cartoon and anime mixed together. Not everyone’s art style is the same. Mine has more exaggerated features and body proportions.

It depends on the expression. Sometimes I stretch the face, other times I squish it a bit. I usually stretch the face to make a bigger surprised expression. And squish to make them appear cuter or when they’re angry.

Also don’t be afraid to REALLY exaggerate the expression. Break their features a little. Be more cartoon and anime logic.

It also helps to know the human body just enough to know where wrinkles are on the face. Like when you furrow your brows and scrunch up your face wrinkles appear. Adding a little bit of wrinkle to your characters face can add more to their expressions. Along with making the eyes wider and the iris smaller.

I also like to use Millie’s eyes to make her more expressive. I make her pupils hearts when she’s adoring something. Stars when she’s super excited. I make her pupils small black dots when she’s startled, scared, mad, annoyed, and irritated. And when she’s crying I like to make her eyes a bit wobbly looking.

Also looking up references really helps too. I recommend using the app Pinterest. It’s super useful and is what I use for references and designs.

As for hands I don’t really know how to explain it- but getting references is really helpful and don’t be scared to sometimes trace the lines of the hand. It helps you learn the anatomy. I personally make a rough sketch, another sketch, and keep going until I feel like the hand looks good enough. It took me awhile to draw hands like this so don’t worry :) also looking at your own hand also helps sometimes!

Also exaggerating poses a bit or a lot can help make your drawing more expressive too-

As for mouth I kinda just…draw a cat mouth and go from there lol

I think that’s all I can explain right now. I hope it helps at least a little bit! Make sure not to push yourself too much on improving your art and style. Everyone’s art journey is different. Some did art for a short time yet is better than some who has done art for a long time. It also depends on if you actually do some art studies. But drawing just for fun also helps so much. Drawing every day improves your style. Try pushing yourself out of your comfort zone sometimes too. We’re all still learning so don’t be afraid to make a few mistake. Keep up the good work! :)

Do you think we could have a mini anatomy tut at some point? Something about the way you draw bodies is so pleasing to look at <3

i kind of did one a few years ago and honestly the same thing applies. i never really knew how to articulate it because i don’t really have much of a process, it’s more or less just muscle memory and referencing.

i’ve talked abt this frequently but sketching over things like photos and 3d models makes the process a lot smoother for me and makes it much easier for me to put the pictures in my head down on paper. i’m older and i genuinely don’t have a lot of time on my hands like i used to, this makes the workload much easier on me and makes things more pleasant since i have less time to do things. when i do big colored pieces this is usually what i tend to do. i just draw for fun, i’ve never really been looking to improve or go to school for it, it’s just how i express things.

that being said i do think you need to have some knowledge of anatomy already in order to pull it off. you kind of have to know what certain muscles and bones are and how they interact with each other in order to actually understand what body parts are doing when it comes to a pose. you have to know how to accurately alter body types when needed, too. basically i used to do figure drawing constantly for years, id do it like every day when i was bored in my sketchbook, id look through poses and just jot them down. i used quickposes a lot which i think is a really good resource if you want to do that. again, i dont have the time or energy in my day anymore so i dont do it as much. i’m also a person with health issues that inhibit me from sitting up or looking at bright screens for long periods of time. just recently my legs have started going numb so i gotta be careful sitting at my desk lol.

i think there’s a lot of stigma around tracing over photos/models and referencing which i think is stupid. if it makes me a cheater then sure ive never rlly cared. i say do what feels right to you and what you feel like helps you, everybody learns differently and finds different things beneficial to their process. genuinely it’s about what makes you happy with your work, not anyone else. overall though i recommend figure drawing first and foremost, no matter what you choose to do i think it’s a necessary step if you’re interested.

Your question about how I learned to draw really made me have to think back, because I’ve been drawing for almost 10 years now!

Back then, tumblr was a different place, and I had just been exposed to digital art as a medium and I was enthralled. So I started by looking at people’s art that I looked up to and any potential tutorials they had made (which were popular for artists to do back then) such as Viria (x, x, x, x) Burdge (not made by her, but a collection she has reblogged which are still helpful x), Ikimaru (x, x, x) (and a bunch more on instagram when that was such a hub for both traditional and digital art); people who’s art I loved a lot.

And over time I looked at other tutorials and art advice videos (link is to my YouTube playlist of tutorials I found helpful over the years) and once I gained a bit more confidence and skill I targeted specific areas of my art that I wanted to improve on, such as color, or composition or figure drawing etc.

Most importantly I practiced a lot! I drew almost every single day! Whatever I wanted really (most of which was fanart lol which is all I draw now). It’s one way of making studying art (which is what you do every time you draw, essentially) a bit more fun!

My process now looks very different from what it used to be, some of it due to the extreme change social media has undergone over the years, but most of it is actually due to some personal art slumps I’ve had. Right now for example, I’ve drawn more over the last two weeks than I have over the last two years.

So now, while I’m trying to get back into it, I’m kinda going back to basics, warming up with figure drawings using line-of-action.com for about 30 min, and then scouring Pinterest for inspiration for more dynamic poses and interesting compositions or angles. All the rest are mainly just doodles, cause I’m trying to take it easy while I get back into it and trying new brushes and seeing what works for me after all these years. Right now I’m really happy with CSP and this brush I’m using. But it may change two months from now. It really depends. It really fluctuates constantly.

To me, a majority of their artwork comes off so warm and... nostalgic?[Granted it is probably because of the beautiful use of warm colors and also the time period that comes with Curtwen mostly... but still.] And just, i dunno man. i just really fricken adore this persons art. I remember one of my first thoughts being how much it made me think of those really beautiful short-film animations, usually silent except for some gorgeous instrumental soundtrack in the background... and, just, wow... anyway ~

even more impressive is the FANART because whOO seeing all these artists matching the skill of the source material?! hobbyists or whatevs drawin these fantastical gayboys in elaborate outfits and poses and everything you could dream of and more?? the anatomy! the colours! the careful attention to EVERYTHING! the hair strands and?? ALL FOR FREE? they are letting me see this for FREE ?????

so i can't help but feel a little inadequacy when i try to pull off the same thing

occasionally i'll try to draw.. idk. something similar to those magneefeecent elaborate fanarts,, or just as detailed as the original game art. ya know, the anime aesthetic really baked in there, but mixed with technical prowess!

i'll draw a pose. i'll try to draw several sections of hair according to actual gravity rules. i'll really focus on what they're wearing, and try to add the details of the shirt and-- oops, i forgot the 12-pointed necklace thing-- just put that in.. oh, shieb,it's connecte d to some sort of cascading sash -=um-- how is that fabric supposed to fold again? better look it up;; WAIT it's not actually fabric? it's ... A BUNCH OF TINY BEADS? what material are they. are they translucent? HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO REP{LIICATE THAT. p..pointillism? but then i...

[SEVERAL HOURS LATER. FAR MORE HOURS THAN I WOULD USUALLY SPEND] > me, not even finished the torso, slumped on the floor in defeat because every gem on the necklace looks too flat and i've forgotten the original intent of the drawing

sometimes, days later, i'll compare these attempts with my other drawings done in less time (the ones where i don't think too hard and don't bother with the details). and i'll find that i enjoy the simpler result anyway. ya think with all the EFFORT i put into the detailed one... wouldn't i jump thru mental hoops to justify my invested time? shouldn't i think, "oh yeah, i REALLY worked on this. it's not the best but i'm still happy with it. the time was worth it."

.NO???! I end up thinking, "that time was NOT worth it. i feel more fulfillment and joy from the simpler drawing. if i can accomplish that with less effort, why would i bother with the extra stuff?"

i'm no workaholic. lower-effort doesn't necessarily mean bad,..... right? just.. incorporating all those jingly bits and WOWEE TEXTURE WITH THE BEAUTIFUL AMBIENT LIGHTING AND COLOURSs takes a LOT outta me. then, am i willing to put in the extra effort to really improve those areas and make em as nice as those top tier taiwanese artists on THAT section of birdsite?!?! ...... not realy.... it's not... worth it. for me at least.. i'd rather focus on facial expressions . and silly interactions.

(yes of course there are ppl who can do the silly AND the technical moodlighting extreme magnifico detailtastic everything else. MAD RESPECT!!! TO THEM!! FOR WORKING UP TO THAT!!!! but my goal is not so ambitious. i am but here for a laugh...)

All the artwork I made (so far) for the fanfic Fall For Me by @nikialexx for this year's @rsbigbang!

When we received the fanfic summaries and I saw that there's gonna be a rockstar AU, I ranked it high and was hoping for the best that I'd get it... And I got lucky, we got paired up with Niki, and I cannot even begin to express how much fun working with her has been! When I signed up for the Bang, I had no idea that I will end up being such an overachiever, but our collaboration was just too inspiring for me to stick to making only 1 picture! I'm gonna share a little backstory for all of them, also listing all the hidden easter eggs!

The banner: It was inspired by an off-screen scene (and a Hozier gif) Niki shared with me which inspired her to play with this AU to begin with! She was kind enough to let me design the look of the characters however I wanted and as I am the biggest facial hair enthusiast irl, I shamelessly drew the boys with beards, even tho it is not even once mentioned in the fic! (I aspire to be the fanartist known for drawing every male character with a beard, jsyk.) I am especially fond of Remus' nose, it just turned out so cute! Also, big thanks to Niki again for adding the extra bit about Sirius' parents coming from Vietnam, which is a very personal touch for me! It's the reason why I draw the Black family members with East Asian features, and finally it is perfectly valid in this fic's canon! 🙇🏻‍♀️

The paparazzi photo: This was my very first idea upon reading the summary of the fic, and thankfully Niki was very onboard with this too! This however turned out to be more challenging than expected, the first version was from a different angle and I really couldn't figure out the correct proportions and perspective, and the pose is harder to pull off in an anatomically correct way to begin with, so after some discussions whether it would be plausible in the fic if the paparazzi would have a room next to this balcony instead of in front, it finally clicked into place! And it is actually a real place in Madrid (the hotel and the background too)! Madrid is my ultimate favourite European city and I've spent 2 weeks working there this spring, so I could actually use my own photos as reference! I also hid a crescent moon and a star on the label of the wine bottle in the background! In the fic it is a kiss and they shouldn't be this visible, but I think I managed to convey the heat of this moment anyway. I really like how Sirius licks Remus' neck and their pleasure is obvious however subtle it is. Also because it is not an actual kiss, it has around the same level of ambiguity as the "original" semi-hidden photos would have in my opinion?

The Instagram posts: This idea came to me while reading the first draft of the fic. I've always liked social media inspired drawings, so at first I just sketched it out for fun, but then I liked it too much, so I finalized it, only to realize that I remembered incorrectly and it was not an Instagram post in the fic! Thankfully Niki was flexible enough to change the platform to Instagram in the final version to cover for my mistake! As in the fic it's Snape who takes the paparazzi photos, I referenced him in the first insta post (username). The second insta post was a last minute addition, I figured why not put the story in a "frame" this way. I wanted to draw Remus again, and I had so much fun with it, I've added a lot of easter eggs too! He is drinking wine and is a little tipsy - just as the beginning, and a lot of other times in the fic actually, haha -, he has the ring, the photo was taken in James' restaurant, and there is also Padfoot the dog, who is now bigger as a whole year has passed! Niki gave me free hand with the caption and the comments too, so I decided to really double down on the story framing idea, and have the same comments, but with a twist, emphasizing Sirius' sassiness more (the caption and the extra comment from him saying the love of his life is his dog, but i used the moon and wolf emojis so it would refer to Remus... Also Padfoot is on the picture which is a nod back to the first one when the comment said who is on the picture).

The extra sketches: Originally I didn't want to add the extra sketches, as all three were just warmup before/after working on the actual pieces, but Niki decided to include them in her fic anyways! I really enjoyed the tension of the bathroom scene, I might even clean that sketch up sometime, but the roughness somehow really fits the vibe of the scene! The guitar playing one was actually the first version of the insta post that I only drew for my own fun, before I moved to make a more direct illustration of the scene. I really like how it looks, the guitar just looks so right in Sirius' hand! The boy really is a born rockstar, haha! The balcony in the background has the same pattern as the hotel in Madrid, however it really is just a coincidence. And how could I have resisted drawing Sirius with baby Padfoot?

The promo pic: I had the basis of this picture since working on the banner, but I actually only finished it recently. My aim was to make it look like an actual promo, influencer style (that's why the text is so cringy)! I've also came up with the idea of drawing the rockstar version of Sirius with a cross earring while working on these pictures, which I liked to much that I draw every version of him with it now 😆 It's like 95% of aesthetic and 5% reference to his godfather status (which makes sense only in my native language, cause the word for godfather is mirror translated as cross-father).

The rockband pic and the concert pic: I'm gonna list them here too, because they are both connected to the fic! Neither of them is a direct illustration, but they were inspired by the conversations I had with Niki in the meantime! The concert pic is actually a variation for the situation I tried to convey with the banner!

TLDR; (this became so long again, jeez) I really enjoyed working on all of these pictures, and I am sure that I will definitely create more! (The R/J/S threesome is just too tempting!!) It was really the most prosperous of collaborations, and it was so nice to get to know Niki too! I am really grateful for the opportunity to join the Bang, in my case it really delivered all the benefits: engaging more in this fandom, my creative drive skyrocketing and getting to know a lot of new people! Thanks to everyone involved, really!

We joke about Hawke not having eyebrows, but neither do Flak, Koal, Von Bolt, and Adder.

This ask is amazing because I was literally looking at this old fanart of mine

before switching to my dash and noticing I had an ask.

I'd never made a similar joke for other either Adder or Koal, but I did doodle some pics where I've compared Adder to Dusk from the Mega Man Battle Network series, who also have no eyebrows.

In cartoon/anime character designs, eyebrows are a shortcut to character expressiveness--eyebrows are merely hair resting above your eyes, and it's not like you lose your expressiveness if you don't have them, but when it comes design, where every line counts? It says something about the character.

So, yes, for Hawke, Adder and Koal, the lack signifies untrustworthiness and/or lack of open/friendly expression.

Flak, however...

I don't know if Re-Boot Camp showed otherwise, but for me it's inconclusive?

We never see his eyes or brow bridge uncovered.

Flak is Max's dark mirror and Max's features are quite small compared to the other characters.

If you compared them and how it seems Flak's default expression seem to be sloping downwards, he could be hiding some small brows. It's also likely that Flak seems to have a shaved head and probably shaves his hair, too.

For a similar, good guy case, 'member Grimm? Oh yeah!

If you squint, you can actually his very tiny eyes behind his shades! It wouldn't far out to imagine some tiny brows on there, too! But despite having no brows, he doesn't ping as untrustworthy because of his wide smile and devil-may-care pose.

Javier! Look closely, he doesn't really have eyebrows--those are brow ridges. Or if he does them, they'd have to be really, really thin. He doesn't really register as an eyebrow-less dude, doesn't he? It's because of his magnificent -stache and full hair. His flowing full design also pulls away from his face, in contrast to the starkness of the Blak Hole dudes.

I know I draw him with a bushy set but it's because he just LOOKS the type, whatever canon may suggest.

He needs to match with his mirror bestie, obviously!

Another similar case to Flak? Sensei!

Based on his hair, though (I'm grateful that Dual Strike allowed us a peek to his canon hair), I wanna headcanon his eyebrow status the same as Eagle's.

Though I'm a big fan of bushy-haired eyebrows Yamamoto-sensei!

As for Von Bolt--yeah, he just doesn't have any eyebrows or even hair. I chalk that to both his very old age and possible whatever experiments he did to his body to keep himself alive.

The lack of eyebrows falls less under the transgressive alt-punkness of Hawke, Adder, Koal and possibly Flak, and just more to show the otherworldly, well, otherness of this almost alien sci-fi old man.

Sturm--yeah. He's a robot alien! Or his face/body is one, so there's no conventional eyebrows or face.

I kinda shot off this ask from the hip as soon as I saw it so apologies for any mistakes. This was a fun ask--so the next time you're looking at your favorite Advance Wars character--check out how Hirata/other artists depicted their eyebrows or lack of therefore, to reflect their character! You might learn something new!

Secondly, I've been inspired by your art among others and decided to ask artists their tips for starting digital art. I have zero experience with art as a whole. I'm armed with a tablet and pen but have no idea how to teach myself to actually draw. I welcome any advice you may have, but don't feel pressured to answer! I'm honored that you asked me for artistic advice, I really am. But I'm sure that countless qualified artists can help you learn drawing techniques that will be extremely useful.

So feel free to ignore everything I'm going to say here.

I took art classes when I was younger; I studied techniques and I studied art history, etc. I forgot most of the technical part and will possibly never use it in an illustration. But those little pieces of advice, that human and simple part I never forgot, and that's what I'm going to tell you about.

First of all, have fun 💚

If you are making a happy and colorful drawing, imagine yourself there. Or if you are drawing something sad, feel the pain of what you are doing. Be it a sad character or even a dark and lifeless scene.

Be there. Your drawing is an extension of you. Your drawing is your friend.

Smile with them, Be afraid with them. You are there; this helps you visualize facial expressions and gestures.

Be generous 💚

Draw people you love. Gift people with your drawings. This helps you improve your art skills and besides, you will feel great making someone happy.

Don't be embarrassed if your drawing doesn't turn out as good as you'd like. Sometimes the simplest drawings are the ones that people like the most.

Draw every day💚

Even if just a few minutes a day. Make it your goal to learn how to draw hands, eyes, trees, etc... things you might find difficult to recreate. And every now and then redraw old drawings, so you can see where you've made progress or need to improve.

Don't be afraid to try new things 💚

There are lots of tutorials on YouTube for beginner artists, check them out.

Procreate it's a great drawing program. There are many tutorials on YouTube teaching how to use it too. But always use your imagination. Be yourself, put your personality in your drawings. Don't be afraid to use colors that don't match each other. And again, have fun.

these are more of my safeshiptember sketches!! the one on the left was "making a meal together", which i tossed mostly bc 1) i actually have more trouble with speed than with knife holding / safety, so this doesn't make much sense, and 2) getting the pose right when he's supposed to be shorter than me was. a pain. like he HAS to be able to see the food, but if he leans over too far he wouldn't be able to hold both hands. fun in concept, not fun to puzzle through. 😭

the one on the right i thiiink was supposed to be "selfie", and i tried sketches for both ren and mars, but i was just too burnt out to fix it up ;; i love the look of selfie drawings, with the arm stretched out in front of the camera, i've just never been good at the getting them right myself lskdmf. i do want to keep trying though!!! might revisit this one soon actually; his side profile came out cute, and i think i can get the extended arm looking okay really quickly. 😊

in another ask i talked about affectionate!drunk ren... well here's pining!drunk ren!! 💕💕 we're doing a friend dinner date thing at a rooftop restaurant (are there reasonably priced allergen-friendly rooftop restaurants in [nearby city]? don't ask me kJNKSFJDN), and we're looking over the city lights and he just. looks over and can't stop thinking... kiss?? we can't kiss but... kiss???? i'm still torn on whether he actually asks on accident (to which i have to sadly tell him no, he's drunk, i won't... but he can try again if he remembers when he's sober ;;;) or if he confesses on accident elsewhere.

BUT. EITHER WAY. i started to color this, but i didn't like the from-my-brain lighting i came up with and just never went back to it to try again ;; might revisit it as well; i'd like to do a proper nighttime lighting study with it!
