I'm pretty much done with the animatic now. Imma just let it sit, make sure I don't want to make any last-minute changes, export it, and assuming I still have internet as I'm in the path of a hurricane, post it sometime later (I would say tomorrow, but considering it's already tomorrow at 2:30 in the morning, later). Right now, I'm going to bed.

hi hiii
so. what if. iiii. enabled u to be autistic on the internet again :3c
i wanna hear your thoughts on eilistraee and vhaerauns relationship! the nitty gritty, the dynamics, how they think of each other vs how they act, and how thats changed over time+how its reflected in their church
im ADORING all your posts on it if i could id print them out and eat them 🫶
Okay. So this is officially the third part of my "I need to go crazy on some character analysis" Saga. My analysis on Vhaeraun is Here, and my analysis on Eilistraee is Here. I recommend, if you're stumbling across this post in the wild as tumblr tends to do, reading those two first so that you have an idea of how I see these two characters and where the basis of my argument for their characterization comes from. If I need to reference something from either post, I'll quote it here. But y'know. Need be said.
Okay so.
I believe this post is going to the most subjective of mine. I am going to try and pull up canon screenshots from War of the Spider Queen, The Lady Penitent, and Evermeet, but unlike how you kind of get told directly how the drow gods behave and hold themselves and a lot of things end up getting built on them, I would argue so many hands have touched DnD and so many interpretations of their relationship have sprung up over the books that it's hard to give a truly simplified "This is how they see one another."
Water is wet statement, relationships are complicated.
Anyway. Given what my thesis is, I am going to be talking a fair bit about abusive family dynamics in this one as well. My goal for this (and any character relationship I do, really) if to try and keep it very fair. I think a of people make the mistake when talking about Eilistraee and Vhaeraun's relationship of picking a side. Like this idea of one of them being right and one of them being wrong and needing to "Fix" the other. And I don't think that's true at all. I think to be able to understand why they feel the way they do about one another and why their relationship is the way it is, you need to respect both of their characters individually.
(Granted, I think this should be true of any relationship you're writing for in fiction. If I can preach for a second, I think even if you don't like a character, you have to be able to respect the character to properly portray them.)
Final note before I get into this. Everyone thank @abracadav-r again for being on screenshot duty. The posts wouldn't get done nearly as fast without them, they know exactly where to find these little moments.
So. That all said. Lets get into it.
I've made a smaller joke post about what I think their dynamic is like before here. But now that you're giving me the opportunity to do so, I will go indepth about it. Yes.
I'm kinda of the opinion that Eilistraee is more incorrect about Vhaeraun than Vhaeraun is incorrect about Eilistraee (But also that this is the result of DND Canon not being entirely fair to Vhaeraun.)
Let's get the discussion about my thesis about the Elven Pantheon being an analogy for an Abusive family on a divine scale out of the way first, because it's something I've mentioned a few time's, but only every really shorthanded. And I think here, in the discussion about relations, is a GREAT place to start and actually explore that.
Now. I should probably start by saying, I don't think this was intended by DnD. Like, I think when they were originally making this lore, it was the intention to just make a justifiable evil worth killing. DND came out of a time of the romantic fantasy, the very Tolkien and Fairytale esc ideas of good and evil and have this classic hero's journey power fantasy ideal to it. Other people have gone into depth about that origin with far better sourcing and dissection than I can ever hope to, but basically: DnD is absolutely (as all art is) a product of it's time and of the community it stemmed from.
However, I personally think those themes and ideas are a little outdated, and a modern audience (myself being the modern audience) tends to be more enthralled by very nuanced interpretations of good and evil, and find indepth character driven narratives more engaging. And I think that for what this mythos has become over the course of it's 60+ years of evolution, you can reinterpret the narrative to be a fascinating depiction of a mythos that echo's the abusive family structure.
Copying and Pasting from my Eilistraee Essay:
It is of my opinion that, when you look at the Eilistrae-Vhaeraun Dynamic and how they were treated by Lolth and Corellon, you're looking at a classic Golden Child/Scrape Goat dynamic. This is important to mention here because I do think that's important context within how Eilistraee (the person) see's and understands the world, and where her mind is at when it comes to the perception of her sense of self. To VASTLY oversimplify about how emotionally abusive family structures work by a lot, when you look at emotionally abusive families with siblings, you tend to find a pattern where one child ends up getting the bulk of the favoritism and affection (The golden child), while the other takes the bulk of the abuse and tends to take a of blame and is seen as being deserving of the abuse (The scrapegoat.) I'll get a little bit more into the specifics of what that means for their relationship in a later post.[*] Now. Calling her the Golden Child, but I don't think being the Golden Child is strictly a good thing. In a lot of ways, I think a lot of golden children end up very emotionally stilted, and I think you kind of see that in Eilistraee. She HAS to be the perfect one. And she's had this expectation to be The Good One placed on her shoulders since she was young. Golden Children are often blinded to the abuse their siblings face because they themselves are not subjected to the same kind of abuse.
[*] And well. It's that later post!
In emotionally abusive families, siblings tend to be pitted against eachother, either unintentionally as a result of the Golden Child being the subject of a parents time, attention, resources, and affection, or as a purposeful attempt on the part of a parent to put divides in a family. In the real life world, it is more often the first. I think a lot of people think Abusers are more like Lolth where there's an intentional "I looked at you and from the day you were born decided to make your life hell."
But I would argue the tricky thing about abusive family structures (Especially with parent-child situations), is that more often then not, the abusers love the idea of the person they're abusing. To them, what they're doing is love. It is very rare that an abuser is this knowing evil schemer that actively sits and thinks to themself that "That's my least favorite child, they don't deserve my attention."
(Though, as a small side tangent not immediately related to the fictional character, you might see this logic manifest more in the way finances are weaponized in abuse, especially see in America where college is more expensive and therefore often used as a control tactic. IE; My wonderful son wants to go into STEM, why would I waste money by giving it to my son who wants to do art college. Because people get comically evil about money.)
Instead, emotional abuse is often more insidious. It's... I'm going to put the blame on everything that goes wrong on my son (Who I left in the hands of his physically abusive mother to have his arm constantly bent behind his back by her) I can't bring myself to believe that my daughter would ever want to scheme against me. YOU could have been good once, but you're evil because you're not happy, you're too moody, you're too violent. I'm not even going to give you the chance or the environment to grow, because it's just in your nature to be evil, and because you are evil because you were born evil that all that goes wrong is your fault.
You know. That kind of logic.
So. Eilistraee was Corellon's Golden Child. She was the free spirited happy one. She was the one that loved to hunt and dance. She was the good one.
(But often, when a scrape goat leaves the family, the golden child becomes the new target.
Y'know. Like..
Corellon gave up on the idea of trying to turn his son Vhaeraun to abandon his ways. He vowed to kill Vhaeraun if he ever tried to hurt his sister. Nevertheless, the Masked Lord did threaten the Dark Maiden's life, without known action against him on Corellon's part.
Corellon's servant Solars claimed that, with this act, Eilistraee had exhausted her purpose, because the willing had been saved, and the unwilling cast down as a necessary sacrifice.
The in-story context for this being honestly worse and kind of containing bad racial implications:
“Her soul was destroyed,” Felarathael said solemnly. “But before she died, she saved many. She cleansed the taint from hundreds of drow who might otherwise have been condemned.” “But the rest!” Lashrael wailed. “Thousands! Hundreds of thousands! No hope of redemption for them, with Eilistraee gone. Condemned to darkness and despair, forevermore!” “Another necessary sacrifice,” Felarathael said without a trace of emotion. “Else the game would have been lost.”
This, to me, is the framework of Vhaeraun and Eilistraee's relationship.
Likewise, the Masked Lord nurtures an abiding hatred of Eilistraee. The Dark Maiden always held Corellon's favor more than her hateful brother, and she thwarted Vhaeraun's early efforts to bring all the Ilythiiri (southern, dark-skinned elves) under his sway, enabling Lolth and Ghaunadaur to make great inroads among those who would become the drow.
I'm under the impression that Eilistraee doesn't know Vhaeraun. She has this idea of who he is in her head seemingly both based on the what their father thought of him, and as a result of being an outsider looking at the things he did at the hand of his mother. (And again, let's be clear and establish in this post. That wasn't WHOLLY Lolth. Vhaeraun did play his part. But I don't think Eilistraee see's that, I think she strictly see's an eager climb for power) And then she makes a lot of assumptions about his motivations based on the idea of him she's made in her head that reaffirm that idea.
On the other hand, I think Vhaeraun understands exactly the kind of person his sister is, because it's really not that hard to understand who Eilistraee is. She really does just mean well. While I consider her to be a lot more guarded and lonely then people tend to give her credit for, I don't think she's being insincere with her wants and wishes and you don't have to doubt what her intentions are. Instead, the ways that I think Vhaeraun is often wrong about how well she can handle herself and how strong her allies are by 4e, and what that could mean for drow as a whole. Because he's so willing to discredit her as a threat, he doesn't pay attention to her, and because he doesn't pay attention to her I don't think he realized she'd gotten friendly to people like... Mysta the goddess of magic.
And being realistic, even if he had known, I don't think he understands the weight of her being friendly TO people like Mystra because he himself only ever makes allies, not friends amongst gods.
Now. The reason I capped that whole screenshot above is actually because it contains a very interesting bit of framework that I think proves this. Even back in the 2e source books, the phrasing of these things matters. If it was a matter of Vhaeraun thinking that something was the case, they would have mentioned it. However, the specific way that it's set up in that passage is: "It's not that Vhaeraun thinks Eilistraee's involvement in circumventing his climb to power allowed Lolth and Ghaunadaur to gain power. Her involvement DID allow Lolth and Ghaunadaur to gain power."
And I don't think she's aware of that. But Vhaeraun is.
To further this, we're to copy/paste a passage from Sacrifice of the Widow. Now. This is from the perspective of a Vhaeraun worshiper, and it holds as much bias as Eilistraee's priestesses have towards him. But. Because it correlates with metatextual information we have from all the way back in 1998, I'm inclined to say it's not a full dishonesty, just a biased truth.
The dance might have been beautiful, had it not been a violation of the sacred order. Had Eilistraee not interfered, Vhaeraun might have united all of the darkelves under a single deity millennia ago, but Eilistraee had proved as greedy as Lolth and had stolen the females away from the Masked Lord’s worship. She’d taught them to exclude males from her circle, to subjugate and revile them instead. Vhaeraun’s followers had learned a bitter lesson. Females could not be trusted.
Compare this to how Eilistraee speaks of Vhaeraun's influence in Evermeet: Island of the Elves.
Like... Eilistaee. There are bigger threats out there than your brother But. She's so blinded by her history with him that she can only ever see her brothers influence is a bloodstain on the land.
As I mentioned in my other post, I think Eilistraee is a biased narrator in this scene. I don't think Vhaeraun wants his sister to die for the crime of existing. I think his feelings on his sister are way more complicated than his feelings on either of his parents. And we know when Vhaeraun explicitly wants someone dead, because the text would have told us that.
...
So, to understand Vhaeraun and Eilistraee's relationship, I do think we need to talk about The Masked Lady.
Given how much of DnD is oral tradition and people building on concepts that the games give to us, I think people feel more comfortable engaging with some of these things through the wiki and building off of the idea of the ideas they get from the wiki without searching out the original source. And to be clear, this isn't like, judgement for doing that. Nevermind that the IP is older than I am twice over, that a lot of old blog posts are only acceptable through niche internet archive links, and that a lot the source books are neither applicable to 5e or still within print. I'M personally guilty of doing it all of the time.
Instead, the point I'm making is because of how the realms is set up and how people engage with DND, not a lot of people know when plot point comes from a source book, a blog post, a prose book, an official magazine, when something was fan-submitted and made canon, or Ed Greens personal twitter/discord. They all kind of merge together to create a collective canon. I think, as a result, a lot of people end up engaging with these concepts with the same amount of abstraction. But the thing about The Masked Lady is that they're like. A book character. This isn't just a concept that was placed out into world abstractly, they're a fully fleshed out character within The Lady Penitent.
This is important to us and our purposes of engaging with these characters on a more transformative level rather than at a dnd table. Being a character, we can look at how they behave and what the actual intent of their portrayal was. And I want to show you a few things, because I have an argument I would like to make given that portrayal.
==
A voice called to them: a voice that was neither male nor female, but both. A moment later, it became a pool of utter silence. Then song, then silence. Opposites, twined together, yet somehow harmonious. Side by side, the awarenesses that were Kâras and Valdar drifted to the place where the song-silence was coming from. It caught them like leaves and swirled them up toward itself. They drifted in front of an enormous face. Moonlight bathed the face’s upper half in shining radiance; the lower half was shadowed in utter blackness. A glint of blue danced across eyes the color of moonstones. Masked Lord, Kâras asked. Is it you? A feminine laugh rustled the mask. Masked … Lady? he ventured. The chuckle deepened, became male. Hands moved to the blackness that was the deity’s mask. Fingers gripped its edges. Kâras tensed, and felt the eager anticipation of the awareness that was Valdar. The mask lifted. Kâras wept. So did Valdar—and as he did, Kâras saw into the other Nightshadow’s heart. The emotions that had prompted their tears were as different as moonlight from shadow.
==
“Masked Lord,” Kâras prayed. “Is it your will the breach be opened? Have you—” He hesitated, then forced himself to say it. “Have you allied yourself with the Ancient One?” This time, the god answered. Not in words, but in the distant peal of a hunting horn. That alone wouldn’t have convinced Kâras; it might have been one of the priestesses, signaling the others. But as the horn sounded, a rectangle of darkness with two eyeholes appeared in the air a short distance away, within the tunnel leading to the ruined temple. The bottom of this “mask” fluttered, as if the mouth behind it were lending its breath to the hunting horn’s peal. Dots of angry red blazed where the eyes would have been. That decided it. Kâras wouldn’t run. He’d fight.

My argument about The Masked Lady is this: Despite taking a lot of Eilistraee's visage and Churches Iconograpy, When you look at how The Masked Lady behaves in practice I would argue that this isn't actually strictly Eilistraee. The Masked Lady feels like a new character that is both Vhaeraun and Eilistraee..... but also Neither Vhaeraun and Eilistraee. In that strictly esoteric kind of way, by merging their aspects together they've created a new god made of their parts.
And on one hand, you can read some of this as Eilistraee Masquerading as her brother to try and get his church to work with hers, but on an authorial level? I don't know if that was the intent. For one, I don't actually think Eilistraee is good at being manipulative, she's too well intentioned. She'd have fallen apart under the weight of that lie.
Granted, I do think with both of them being in there Eilistraee is more "in control." Vhaeraun is absolutely ""Dead"" in at least some ways. The piece he puts down representing himself is destroyed in the Sava game, Eilistraee ends up with his mask, and Lolth is able to show off his corpse in the astral plane.
But even all of that aside, I'm tapping in both Ed Greenwood's thoughts for this and something from Faiths & Avatars.
(I'm going to copy this summary from the FR wiki page on dead powers because, as always, it's quite good at summarization. But as always, I've double checked Faiths & Avatars to be sure)
Sometimes, the memory and personality of a deity was separated from their power and true form at the moment of their death, typically by the interaction of the magical turbulence of their death with the magic of a powerful relic or artifact into the same area. In such cases, the deity remained awake but imprisoned, in a sense, though vastly uncomfortable with their much-reduced state.
As such, I think during The Masked Lady era, three things were true simultaneously.
There was a part of Vhaeraun that was dead. That's the part of him on the astral plane. And even that part of him seemed to hold mild consciousness. But I also think a part of him was trapped by Mystra in a dream, and another part of him existed simultaneously within his sister creating a new entity as The Masked Lady, in the same way that Eilistraee seemed to both exist as herself AND The Masked Lady separate from herself as she's playing the Sava game. Because these are gods. Their existence does not exist in singularity.
But. Why does this matter to Vhaeraun and Eilistraee's relationship. Why do I think this is an important talking point for them.
Because I think the fact that they exist together implies a level of respect and understanding towards one another. This is not how this would have happened if they truly hated one another. What happened with Vhaeraun and Eilistraee seems closer to what happened with Zandilar the Dancer and Bast (Absorbed and became Sharess) or (Sehanine Moonbow, Aerdrie Faenya, and Hanali Celanil) > (Came together to become Angharradh and notedly, can separate to spent time apart as times have changed.)
This feels like. Notedly different, compared to what happened with (for example) Ulutiu and Auril, where he got entirely subsumed by her.
For a moment, they were one god. And they could have only synergized as one if they understood eachothers intentions well enough to agree to be one.

It's worth noting before I get into this section. Both the idea that Vhaeraun didn't actually die and was put in ⋆ 。⋆⊹❇Mystra's Dream Prison <3 ❇⊹⋆ ˚。⋆ and that upon returning to life he started working with Eilistraee are not actually ""canon"" to 5e. They are, like many things, Ed Green-ism's that a lot of people (myself included, because I do actually think he's an incredibly creative person with good character building ideas) take as canon. Despite taking it as canon, I think it's worth mentioning that there is no official source material to pull from for these ideas, because unlike the masked lady, these two ideas exist as concepts to be built off of rather than media to be examined.
We can only logic and reason what happened between them and how it's changed their relationship using everything else we have.
Posted from the FR wiki:
"The Grand History of the Realms explicitly says that Vhaeraun's assassination attempt failed and Eilistraee killed him. However, Ed Greenwood suggests that Eilistraee didn't actually kill her brother. The Dark Maiden defeated Vhaeraun with the indirect help of her ally Mystra, as the Weave frustrated the Masked Lord's magic while enhancing Eilistraee's. The goddess temporarily took her brother's portfolio, and trapped his sentience in the Weave, where it was enfolded in a dream by Mystra. The Lady of Mysteries did this to ensure that the two drow siblings would survive the cataclysm that she knew was coming—the Spellplague—in which she would be "killed" to renew the Weave and magic would go wild. After Mystra and the Weave were completely restored in 1487 DR, the goddess of magic could finally give Eilistraee her own lost power and do the same with Vhaeraun, after having awakened him from his dream."
It was one of Ed Greenwood's ideas to have the two deities reach a reciprocal understanding, and to make the personal enmity between them was no more. More to read here
So here's my take on this situation.
I think a lot of people like to paint the "Mystra and Eilistraee put Vhaeraun in Dream Prison" Situation in a very limited light. In the same way Eilistraee tends to get romanticized as a wholly good and Vhaeraun demonized as a firm evil, it tends to get boiled down to the idea that Mystra and Eilistraee managed to convince him to be "Less Evil."
But, I don't know. To accept the Mystra/Eilistraee tag team as something wholly good, you have to also accept the sentiment of Vhaeraun as someone who is evil and needed "fixed," and I don't think that's ever been the case. As I think my multitude of arguments have implied, I have never been under the impression he's an actual evil.
As such, it's always felt little bitter-sweet to me. I think it's more impactful if they just managed to rub off on eachother due to their time spent together as one. I think it was especially a turning point for Eilistraee, given how many changes came to the structure of her church as a result of that merger. She understands why he uses the tactics he does, she understands that what he's doing is coming from a place of (what I would argue) is sincere love for the drow as a whole, and I think she got a little bit more of a nuanced understanding of the uhh Sexism. I also like to think she understood his experiences more, and that his love doesn't come through the same lens as hers.
Likewise, I think Vhaeraun came out of that understanding that he was stretching himself thin. I think that he learned that he NEEDS to be able to rely on others, he NEEDS to start trusting the outside world more. While he's more accepting of drow as they are now, I think his goal has always been to put them back in power to the extent that they were when he had worship from the Ilythiiri. But, thats not the world they live in anymore. Even if he did pull all the drow from the underdark, they could not and would not manage to be that. I think he comes out of The Masked Lady era understanding that to get the drow away from his mother and to coexist is stability in itself. They don't need to rule to be powerful, they just need to coexist.
You know. It's choosing to forgive. We can't change what we were, but we can start this relationship over and grow something new from it. And sometimes, that might be enough.
....
And ALSO I think they had to start getting along, because it really didn't take their churches THAT long to start meshing together when they fused as the masked lady.
At the word “died,” the priestess glanced down at the male. The cleric didn’t look good; his eyes had fully rolled back in his head and his skin was turning gray. Halisstra reached out and lifted the priestess’s chin, forcing her to look away. “It’s only a weak venom,” she lied. “You have plenty of time to heal him. Plenty of time, still.” “Yes,” the priestess repeated softly. “Plenty of time.” Her eyes reminded Halisstra of another priestess who’d succumbed to Halisstra’s bae’qeshel magic, years ago. Seyll had stared just as trustingly into Halisstra’s eyes a heartbeat before Halisstra plunged a sword into her. And yet Seyll had told Halisstra, as she lay dying, that no one was beyond redemption—not even Halisstra. She’d been wrong. This priestess had a wide mouth and creases at the sides of her eyes that could only have come from frequent laughter. The frown of confusion looked out of place on her forehead. The slight bulge of her stomach hinted she might be carrying a child. Halisstra hated her.
Come on guys, The Masked Lady hadn't even existed for half a decade and there was already pregnancies. We don't know what their churches are like 100+ years out. But, for as much as Ed emphasizes the infighting of the churches (And I have no doubt in my heart there ARE factions who refuse to mesh, that's canon to the text) we are inevitably met with 1-2 generations where the combined churches are all that they knew. Vhaeraun and Eilistraee had to work together, because I think as much as they're their own people with thoughts and opinions and experiences, they are also a reflection of their worshipers.
==
I think, to summarize what I think Vhaeraun and Eilistraee's relationship is like in a few paragraphs
With the way their relationships are described, I think Eilistraee was the golden child and Vhaeraun was the scrapegoat in the earlier parts of their childhood. They become reflections of the parent that favors them, because those were the parents that acted as their main influence. Eilistraee saw Vhaeraun as a reflection of her mothers evil, and Vhaeraun saw Eilistraee as undeserving of the favoritism their father gave her.
This view of eachother was cemented when she followed him to Toril. She saw him and his power as an evil and bloodstain, unhelped when he exiled her (probably out of spite and due to the grudge he had as a result of the earlier years). As such, she worked to undermine the influence he had. And when that allowed their mother and Ghaunadaur to take hold, it was the same kind of evil to her.
Her enabling them to take that power worsened the grudge Vhaeraun had of her, because he knows he isn't the same kind of evil as Lolth or Ghaunadaur, and them having that power worsened things for everyone.
This grudge between them kept itself in the legacy of their churches, all the way until The Masked Lady Era. The Masked Lady era was one where they actually managed to come together for a similar goal. It was the first time they were truly about to understand eachothers motivations, experiences, and perspectives, and the first time that divide between them and their communities truly lessened.
And when they finally came out...? I mean. That's going to change anyone. I think not only their relationship changed, but they sort of managed to change eachother a little.
I don't know. I think their relationship is complicated and messy and such a product of their parents influence on them. There is no forgiving Lolth, and there really shouldn't be forgiving Corellon (though, dnd might disagree with me on that.) But I think theirs one that could eventually heal. Out of all of the relationships in the Dark Seladrine, theirs feels the closest to being one that can be refounded on equal ground and with respect towards one another, especially as drow return to the surface and find more acceptance (even outside of their communities.) Because they are to me, two sides of the same coin.
#Eilistraee#vhaeraun#Character Analysis#Anyway. As an aside#I'm totally willing to completely destroy what I think their dynamic actually is for the sake a good comic bit#Sometimes its funny when vhaeraun gets kicked#I think Vhaeraun does care a little about her even when he's got a thousands year old grudge against her#And I don't think anyone is arguing that Eilistraee doesn't care about Vhaeraun#Shes Saddened by his Selfishness. and I think scared of him#But true hate... nngh.

— She often comes off as a lazy or narcissistic person and she talks lazily, she speaks as if she’s better than everyone but in reality, she prefers to push people away so she wouldn’t get emotionally attached to others and ended up getting hurt and she’s tactful when it comes to swords and battles, she’s loyal and an adventurous plus a mischievous person but she means well, brutally honest person, although she states that she doesn’t care about Grim and Ace, or Deuce, in reality, she’s willing to help them in a more like an angry mom way…
— She’s mainly annoyed about the absurd situations they manage to get themselves in, back in her world, she often uses daydreams and music to escape from reality, she doesn’t understand social norms or how to socialize with other people due to her backstory and she’s not angry that she’s not in her world since she basically lost anything so why would someone remember her in her world.
— Harley was interested in cosplaying and fashion because it seems fascinating but she complained about how inaccurate the knights are and she gets bored easily because she wants to live her teenage life and enjoy the years that got lost in time, she doesn’t want to be vulnerable towards anyone but at the same time she wants someone to help her but she doesn’t know what to do or say, she tends to be flirty without even trying or realizing it but she gets flustered when someone showers her with love.
— She’s competitive and almost got into fights just to win the competition whenever she’s angry or in a bad mood, she because more easy to anger than usual and she’s always been short tempered, oddly enough, she likes to smell the air of dirt especially after it rains and has ate dirt just to taste them.
!! Lore !!
— Before arriving at Twisted Wonderland, when she was just a child but she had goat like eyes and abnormal hands, her physical strength was slightly above average, the townspeople got worried and scared and didn’t trust her or her family when she was a teenager she was accused of a crime and she was put on trial, at the end she got punished by the House of Judgement and was isolated in a dark void, she waited and waited until finally she was sent free by finding a slit in the void, she thought it was only 365 days since her punishment but when she saw the outside world, she realizes how different it was and realizes it’s been 365 years, heartbroken realizing she won’t find her family any more, she’s still not used to social norms which cause some misunderstandings.
— Once she was released from that void she was anxious since she didn’t know how different society was or how to function but she met an unknown goddess in the woods, but she met him in his phoenix form and he took her in despite not knowing how to parent a human but he trained her because she needed to control her abilities.
— The goddess is around 10,000 years old, The unknown goddess often teases her and his nickname for Harley is “Young Hare” While Harley is embarrassed by his teasing and often refers to him as “my goddess” she messes up and calls him Mother instead but after the unknown god’s got pierced in the chest by the new God of Justice, she was forced to retreat back with the unknown god in her arms she doesn’t know how to cope with what she saw so she wouldn’t acknowledge or process the lost.
— She thinks that all of this is part of her training as his apprentice and convinced herself that it’s just for training and that the Gods is watching over her for guidance, so she tries to move on and not process anything of her trauma at all. It’s a part of her training so she shouldn’t hang onto it. So thus she has to take care of the unknown god’s wounds.
(But she got stuck inside of Twisted Wonderland ☠️)

After the ambush I got send back to the black citadel to recover from my injuries and giving the legion time to discuss the future of my mission.
I overheard them talking,... I was aware that this mission was just a cover up, to get rid of me. But now that I showed my use, they started to stumble.
I hate what they had to say about me. "How is this runt able to kill two high ranked Flame Generals?" "This sick Charr won't have a future - it doesn't matter - she is just a Gladium."
I was thinking about leaving the Legion. I doubt I'm ever able to earn their respect - they will forever doubt me.
But as I was about to leave the Citadel, this guy approached me - Atlas Rageweaver was his name. Silent type - he gave me the creeps.
Not once did he showed any emotions or movement in his face, as he escorted me to Tribune Bloodrage - who for whatever reason wanted to see me.
He was once a Blood Legion Soldier - at least from what I heard. He later moved to Ash and quickly became one of their Tribunes. He is known, yet very few Charr get to meet him.

He asked me about the mission my Legion gave me and about my encounter with the Flame Generals.
And I think I know where Atlas got his manner - Tribune Bloodrage is like a Wall. His face is stern. You can't read him. I was unsure what he was thinking - but I was certain its the same the other thought of me.
I was wrong.
He offered me a place in his Warband - not in a Warband he commands - in HIS Warband. And with that a Mission that actually makes sense - has some weight to it.
Since I started exploring Tyria for the Legion, I should continue this journey. This time not on the hunt for some fancy stuff, but on the lookout for lost soldiers. But also to make sure the Maps are still updated. With the recent rampage by the Elder Dragons, some areas got outdated.
Atlas Rageweaver will join me on this task. Still not sure what to think about that guy but,... guess we get plenty of time to get to know each other.
So I'm part of the Rage-Warband now,... I'm still baffled,... is this even real?

Some Lore Sideinfo from OP:
I can't just start something without building a Story around it and try to connect some dots between my OCs.
So 🎉 have some Lore in between the Challenge stuff.
With the introduction of Atlas, I also got a good explanation why Alba won't die - should she ever die during the Challenge.
And I decided her Story takes place shortly before IBS. So her enjoyment being in a Warband again might fall short :X
Hope you enjoy this little Lore drop and Edit ♥

Hi does nightwatcher count as a trud char bc they were in the game but got removed
anyways can I request guest666 fluff uhhj cudddling maybe a bit of smoochin
yea she’s so cool I love her
"Grounding"
--TRUD!Guest 666 x Guest!Reader

Note: happy pride month gang !! heres your guest 666 anon. i hope you’re okay with this, ik this is really far from the req and im so sorry this took so long. the info in her wiki is outdated, so i wrote placeholder lore for her (which is why ts blurb took so long im gonna pass out holy shit…)
also srry but nightwatcher isn't in the game as of right now, so i wont be writing for them
Warnings: OOC Guest 666, none of this lore is canon, a little bit of angst (i swear it turns into fluff)
—--
Guest 666 isn't quite sure why she agreed to this.
Lush blades of grass tickle the sides of her back. The weight of your head against her chest is intrusive and restricting. Her sharp claws scratch the top of your head — at times leaving little white lines. You flinch when she does this. When she realizes the pattern, her touch softens by a margin.
She is physically present; feeling every pulse of your heart and every rise of your chest. Yet the way her mind fixates on something that does not seem to exist says otherwise about her focus. It is a thought, several more like. They prey on her in the rare times she is alone – at her most vulnerable. Only now have they gained the audacity to torment her while in your embrace. The unanswered questions in her mind linger: Why does she entertain your late-night getaways? Why does she allow herself these intimate moments with you? 666 does not mince her words. It is of little concern to her if people cannot handle what she has to say.
If she hasn't spoken up till now, it ought to be for another reason. A past scar still inflamed with the pain of loss gives her a suggestion: you’re a Guest. That must be it. You’re the lone time capsule of the life she once lived; the sole person who can understand her desire for vengeance. It’s why her heart, supplied constantly with a surplus of adrenaline, slows when you’re around. No wonder your happiness is infectious — your smile reminds her of jubilees and festivals long-forgotten.
Nostalgia, she tells herself, is all that it is. When you grow tired of her, or if death takes you before it happens, these useless feelings and thoughts will dissipate along with it. Nothing is made to last. Nothing should last.
666 overlooks the worry in your eyes as you meet her gaze one-sidedly. Body language is an important part of communication, hers tells you she’s drowning in her thoughts. Placing a gentle hand on her cheek, your touch brings her back to shore.
‘Thinking again?’ You sign, with a slight tug in the corner of your lips.
The glow of her scarlet irises aligns with the whites of your eyes. Her shoulders droop.
‘Was distracted. Nothing important.’ She signs back. The other Guest presses her forehead against yours, leaving a chaste kiss on the tip of your nose.
Your face scrunches up in the cute way that she hates. The crease between your brows conveys your hesitancy to drop the topic, but you do so regardless. Sitting up, you sift through your satchel with pursed lips, hand navigating through the jungle of items. 666’s eyes follow your movements, and she too lifts herself from the ground’s embrace.
Strange paraphernalia fly out of your bag: crumpled-up pages, pens without caps, torn bookmarks. With a triumphant smirk, you fish out a camera. Is a moment like this picture-worthy, Guest 666 thinks, as you shove the stray objects back where they came from. There’s little point in convincing you to clear out that portable dumpsite, not like she cares enough to scold you for it, so she merely stares at you like a zoo-goer would a bizarre creature.
Then, the metal junk is shoved into her face, the lens tinted with a red glare and the faint shimmer of moonlight. Nudging her shoulder with yours, your eyes point to the Polaroid camera.
Reluctantly, her cheeks are pulled upwards to make way for a smile, in juxtaposition to your more natural one.
CLICK!
The moment is captured in a single blindingly bright flash — one that makes 666’s eyes flutter faster than the shutter. Even after the dozens of photos you’ve taken, she still finds herself unaccustomed to the flare. A Polaroid photo slides out of your equipment with a low whir, which you catch with your index and thumb.
She leans in over your shoulder to take a look at the final product.
‘Opinion?’ You raise your eyebrows. There’s nothing noteworthy about the scenery, or the composition for that matter. No apparent flaws are present, either. It’s like any other photo you’ve taken.
A small nod and the fold of her arms are all she replies with. Satisfied, you tuck it into your pocket and return to your place between her legs.
666’s fingers twitch with the unresolved doubt of before and lightly tap on your shoulder. You look at her, tilting your head.
‘Why do you take so many pictures?’
A bewildered smile forms on your lips, as if she had asked you a question with such an obvious answer.
‘I want to remember every moment we spent together.’ You reply.
‘Corny.’ She rolls her eyes, to which you respond with a light shove.
‘Not. All experiences with you are precious.’ You state, emphasizing the “you” by prodding your finger onto her chest. 666 holds an unamused expression, which you lean in to kiss. Instead, your lips collide with her palm.
Precious? She doubts that. There is no use in treasuring anything in this world. Not souvenirs, not friendships, and most certainly not people. Death takes no prisoners.
‘Experiences don’t last. They’re not precious.’ 666 furrows her eyebrows.
‘Eternity isn’t what gives memories value.’ Your eyes are downcast.
‘What does, then?’
…
‘Being in the moment. Living in them does.’
‘If you focus too much on comparing experiences to the past, or how long they’ll eventually end in the future — no wonder you cannot love what they are in the present.’
Slipping your hand back into your back pocket, you retrieve the recent photo. You tap her hand, which she outstretches readily, and place the image in its warmth.
‘Keep this one.’
The celestial glow of the moon steals your attention. Your hands no longer move, instead, they rest on your stomach.
666 looks at the Polaroid photo in her hands. It depicts no important achievement or anniversary. Only for today, though, is it given a special meaning. At last, she notices the stray strand of hair that blocks your face, the white glow the photo is enshrouded in, and the overall serenity of the scene.
Leaning her chin on the crown of your head and intaking your scent, her arms wrap around your figure in a loose embrace. Under the starry, moonlit sky, she shares her warmth with you.
She has a better adjective to describe the feeling of you pressed against her now.
Grounding.

How Bo (my httyd oc) ended up on Berk
I actually wanted to draw all this in the form of little comics but I have to focus on my exams. But at the same time, I reallyyyy wanna post something. So here it is in summarised text form.
So Bo was part of a whole crew of pirates led by a dude who called himself Two-beard the Terrible (cuz his beard's separated into two braids. idk man). Everyone else called him that too but it was not cuz he was fearsome or anything, it's because him and his crew were terrible at being pirates.
Anyways uh. At some point they catch wind of a ship loaded with gold and stuff headed north. They decide to loot it. Bad idea because turns out the ship was actually transporting warriors who proceeded to thoroughly kick the pirates' asses.
In the middle of all the fighting, Bo lets himself be dragged off into a small boat by a friend/crewmate who says they should get out while they're still intact because this situation is even worse than usual and there is no way they're surviving. But while they're getting away in the boat with very minimal supplies, the friend gets stabbed in his side by a thrown dagger. He dies within the hour, bleeding out in Bo's arms while occasionally muttering curses. Before dying, he tells Bo to make sure to get to land and stay there, and not bother with the damned ocean again.
So Bo's left alone with his friend's lifeless body and food and water that very quickly runs out...he's not sure what to do with his friend since he doesn't just wanna dump the body overboard, so he's just stuck there all alone for a few days with nothing to look at but the sea and his friend, drifting here and there and hoping to see land.
But then one night as he's sleeping, a breaching whale collides with the boat (fun fact: I only recently found out this was a thing) and Bo ends up in the water, struggling to stay afloat. Luckily by this point the boat had floated kind of near Berk, which he sees and swims towards. He finally ends up reaching the shore and passes out on the beach, where he will be later found by the Dragon Riders. Yay!
Edit: I did update the lore. FYI. This is a bit outdated.

HIHIHIHI!! I heard you were drawing pressure ocs and I knew I had seen your art before but my lazy ass forgot to follow/reblog!!! Don't think you would've liked to hear how loud i squealed when I saw ur art again lol. If you ever find the time, I'd like to show off my silly little pressure ocs!! <33 /p

The first character shown is Finnula, nickname Wiggles! ( Z-635 ) They are a huge cuddle bug and a manta ray mutant! It absolutely ADORES snuggles but definetley has to be careful because they are a little smaller than the average searchlight! I don't have much lore for them, but they are my more fluff/comfort related oc since my other one is the. Opposite XD
On the next two pictures, the character is Jezzie! ( Z-243 ) They are my main pressure oc and I use them the most. Although, their reference sheet is a bit outdated, as they now have little shrimp antennae and a stronger + chubbier build. ( the third picture is the only one I could find that showed this accurately, sorry for how messy it is! ) They are SUUPER tall, around 6'10 or 7', but usually slouch down a bit so they don't look intimidating. Some quick lore for them if you want any!: Jez was captured by authorities after a large fire occurred during a party at an apartment. This party was attended by their ex, Aidlyn. Their sudden breakup was speculated to be the reason, as both were intoxicated at the time and Jezzie was known to have anger issues. They continuously plead guilty and shift the blame to a man that got into a fight with them, but there is no evidence to back these claims up. They are sentenced to death, but Urbanshade picks them up to conveniently go through with a project they are working on. Project Crimson, meant to make an indestructible creature that can handle the power of the crystal. The blacksite lockdown occurs, however Jezzie is in a separate facility being 'mentally trained'. Eventually, they are sent out to retrieve the crystal. Depends on what timeline, but in the good one they meet Sebastian, get their pdg removed and get their own little hoard in one of the sky walkways. In the more negative timeline, they do not meet Sebastian until too late, and he takes them out when they are moments from taking the crystal!
Sorry for the lore dump lol, hope you enjoy my little critters!!! ^^

Hi! I hope you don't mind getting an ask from me even though we've never interacted.
I have a question about Old Daniel in the IWTV series, but I don't know how to put it except: what exactly is his current health situation? He has Parkinson's disease (or at least they show us ha has some symtomps, and Daniel says it is Parkinson's), but in ep 01 of the first season Louis calls it an "autoimmune disease" (which Parkinson's is not).
They show us that Daniel keeps a bunch of pill containers on his table in his apartment, which makes sense with how Parkinson's would be treated, but then there's the "levodopa transfusion" scene which does not. (I could try to explain the pharmacokinetic reason if you're interested).
And then there's the meals, during which they keep filling his wine glass, the two Martini scenes. . . why do they keep giving him drinks? They arrange for a doctor to come and administer the "therapy" (I'm not buying that it's levodopa), but he can have all the alcoholic beverages in the world? When they most likely would interfere with the pharmacological therapy he's supposed to be taking?
It all seems a bit suspicious to me. What do you think?
(apologies for any mistakes, english is not my first language)
Hi! It's fine to ask me questions even if we've never interacted before, I don't mind. 🙂
So, as far as we know older Daniel on the show has Parkinson's disease for sure. Daniel pretty much confirmed he does because Louis said he had it and Daniel confirmed it in episode 1x01. And the shaking very much shows he does have it IMO. Because he was specifically shown to be shaking back in episode 1x01 when he was trying to put the Fall of the Reble Angles puzzle together.
Now, as many who read my blog likely already know, I've talked about how my mom had Parkinson's and I was her primary caregiver (before she passed away). So I know a lot already about how that disease works. And so when Armand -- as Rashid -- was talking about "levodopa transfusions" for Daniel being scheduled back in episode 1x04 I was very much "WTF?" about that. The whole idea of that is sus because I know from experience that Daniel should just be taking his levodopa via pills. The only time my mom ever got levodopa administered via an IV drip was when she was staying overnight at a hospital.
So I've long thought there is way more going on with that "levodopa transfusions" Daniel got, and have talked about it here and here. Though at the current time, the theory I talk about in those links might be outdated at this point, though I think there might still be a little something to them.
But, if you know the lore, Dr. Fareed -- the doctor who arrived back in episode 1x06 to administer Daniel's transfusion -- is not only a vampire himself but runs a clinic in the books where he looks into and does experiments regarding vampire physiology. And something else that caught my eye about that clinic he runs as I've been reading Prince Lestat, is that it is said in the book that Fareed and his vampire Maker (and lover) Seth, "ran a small clinic for mortal incurables."
And Parkinson's is very much "incurable."
So yeah, I think something is going on when it comes to Dr. Fareed giving Daniel that IV drip of levodopa. Because even when it comes to the idea of cloning, that's a lot to go through just to get something like a blood sample or something I think. But hey, there's really no saying when it comes to that I guess . . .
As to such as Louis calling it an "autoimmune disease" I just chalk that up to either a writing mistake or, hell just Louis being a vampire. He might just not know the correct medical term to use for it. That is also something that is going into in the Prince Lestat book -- how it can sometimes be very hard for vampires to keep abreast of tech and other things at any given time if they do not encounter it or use it regularly. (Lestat is always forgetting and losing his iPhones). As to the alcohol that, again, could just be the show not really looking too closely at such things (because outside of medical shows, many drama shows don't), or maybe Daniel only being allowed one glass a night and being given some okay about it we never saw. Who knows at this point. 🤷🏾♀️

i admit i havent listened to much of will wood other than a handful of songs, but im still curious abt ur wwww au:3 here r some questions!!
so like are they all kinda the embodiment of different albums? or is this kind of cccc but with ww covers instead?
and do the 4 have songs that are entirely "theirs"/their pov/embody them kinda like the heart acoustic for heart or be born for mind(if that makes sense)? plus what songs would they be i need to listen to more will wood and ponder cccc lmao
also is there a juno incident equivalent??:0 and are they still stuck in a loop?
Yayayayayay !! Thank you for asking :D this got Way Too Long so answers are under the cut :,))
To the first question: both! They’re still 3 guys trying to kind of. operate/Be one guy [William!] and this is basically CCCC but with Will Wood’s songs But each member of HMSW is also Sorta the embodiment of their respective albums. Like they still do the things original HMSW do but their personalities and actions are also based on their albums. I hope this makes sense but lemme know if more clarification would help !!
“Will they get songs that are entirely “theirs”?” yes!! I’d say they’ll probably end up having Roughly the same number of shared and solo songs. Possibly even more exclusively from each member’s perspective? Details are gonna be somewhat worked out as I go along but short answer is Yes :3
short answer to“what songs would they be” is also kind of Yes sorry 😭 there will be at least 27 [probably more??? Depends on how long my motivation lasts :,]] tracks. TNA, ICIMI, EIAL and SELF-iSH will each get at least 3 [almost certainly more] songs featured in the album since each character gets a sorta “solo” like in CCCC, and each character primarily sings from their respective album :)) I also wanna include some “bonus” tracks using unreleased/unofficial songs, poems, etc. so if you’re asking what to listen to uhhh all of it? I’m so sorry 😭 I Will be including a link to the YT version of each song as written covers are posted though so realistically you really don’t have to worry about it until each part of the au comes out. If you want particular WW song recommendations though feel free to shoot me a dm! I’ve got uhhh a couple [<- understatement]
“Is there a Juno incident equivalent?” I’ve been thinking it this a lot but also not enough lmao- this answer might become outdated as I add a little more depth/details to the story but at the moment: probably and I wish I could tell you about it so bad but I haven’t fleshed it out well enough yet :,)
uhhh here as an apology for being an utter Fool extra lore drop !! Cotard has a halo with the like . “Cut here” pattern from the SELF-iSH album cover and can pull the scissors out from it as an equivalent to the OG Soul’s trident . They’re magical. Sorta. This will be better illustrated in the ref sheets lol-
And as for the last question: yes! I think some details are outlined in the master doc but this is the 2012th loop [William splits and recombines fairly regularly and quickly. Or he used to - his split periods have gotten longer over time and the loop WWWW takes place over is longer than any of his past ones] . [3/3/25 edit: that previous part is now outdated!! The loop number and lengths are now ambiguous as the whole “2012th loop” thing just never really sat right with me sorryyyy] Soul remembers everything [or as much as his brain will naturally retain]. H/M get “reset” every time they combine and split again but physical changes stay and they sometimes get memories in dreams or senses of Deja vu etc. Whole doesn’t really. Experience the loops [the literal time loop is sorta contained within Marybell so only HMS experience it as an actual Loop] but he does experience mental health cycles based on HMS’s repeated actions.
Sorry this got so long but tysm for asking about this!!! I super appreciate it :DD and hey to everyone else. My ask box is still open if you. Wanna ask about the AU. You know you want to ooohhh you wanna ask about wwww soooo bad … [/silly . But I mean if you are interested-]
Anyways uhh yeah thank you Jaggy !! ^^
#soup incident#wwww au#William’s Wanton Weary Wiles#chonny jash#cccc#cj mind#cj heart#cj soul#chonny jash au#cccc au#oof I hope this is coherent 😭 please let me know if I fucked up any of the typing or if stuff is unclear !!

my chnt swap AU will now be called
camp this and that
idea originally provided by @fall3nash2339
all info about characters+ art links under cut😋😋!!
(NEWWER DESIGNS WILL COME SOON, ALL OF THESE ARE FROM A SLIGHTLY OUTDATED STYLE)
Edit: erm. All of this is so outdated cause I half abandoned it, it still spins around my cranium once a blue moon though
all the characters have the same physical appearance (except for sydney), personalities and roles are changed
the nurses~
head nurse: Elijah Volkov, he makes all the announcements, and is mentally decaying. Boy oh boy, is he quite the man. Silly little bpd man, collected mental illness like Pokémon. But he's caring, and will do just about anything in his power to help the campers out when needed. He has a knack for elephants, likes sharing fun facts, not only about elephants but anything and everything. No filter😋 if he's thinking it, he'll say it, obviously nothing bad will come of that. Trust issues, yummy.
assistant nurse: Adam Uptin, always carrying snacks with him, he can get you to share how your parents wronged you then shove a bag of skittles in your hand and walk away. Adam isn't a fan of leaving the nurses cabin, let alone his side office, something about being a vampire and ""ahhhh the suns"",,etc etc. Although, you can lore him outside with some sunscreen, an umbrella, and an apple.
camp counselors (all camps stay the same)
Cabin Dung Beetle: Juniper Sloan. long neck, dirty blonde. British man, he's scared of the water (blah blah blah "i'm experiencing the past, present, and future all at once and i can't breathe." yadda yadda yadda) besides the meltdowns and break downs, he's pretty silly
Cabin Grasshopper : Marisol Yuchengco, 👁️dresses in gothic attire, but she's one of the most understating counselors you'll ever meet. Salem de La Marnierre, 👁️scene kid vibes, lowkey really chill though. The two are dating<3 (basically just the same as chnt, just,,, ya'know,, swapped.)
Cabin Magpie Moth: Rowan Chow, the goofiest mother fucker in the entire camp. He can actually produce sound effects, he doesnt choose them or when they happen, that's up to the universe, they just come from his general area. This man runs off of actual cartoon logic, dont question it.<3
Cabin Silkworm: Yvonne Marley, femcel. That is truly all i have to say about her. She pull's misinformation straight from the internet and spreads it like mold on moist bread. Joshua MacHeath, tictok eboy, he can make a killer flower necklace though. Joshua will sit with the kids who can't/won't participate in certain camp activities and teach them how to make bracelets out of, well, anything and everything!
Cabin Tarantula Hawk: Lucille Bertuccelli,👁️ she's an older counselor, a sweetheart though. Not only does she keep cabin tarantula hawk up am running, but she also is in charge of the arts and crafts cabin! Gracie Liu (👁️lowkey, i forgot gracie liu existed, so all of her color are just inverted. no matter how you picture her in ur brain, just invert the colors)
Cabin Ladybug : Soren Baltimore, 👁️a bit of a quiet lad, it wears a cape given to it by fennel. soren wears pants that are cover completely in pockets, those pockets are practically infinite, anything you can imagine, soren has it in its pockets. Fennel Marlborough, 👁️our favorite camp taxidermist (don't tell anyone) they have the art of life preservation down to a tea, now if they can only get em to start moving again. soren and fennel are tightly nit, they made up two languages, one between only them and the other for the entire cabin.
Cabin Widow-spider: Matthew Napoleon, 👁️he is the void, don't be scared of him just based on looks though. Matthew will teach you about things you thought you knew (you didn't). Because matthew cant actually talk, due to all that void, he communicates in a fun mixture of sign language, charades, and various static esc noises. Matthew is also involved, if not running, most water based activities (and sometimes juno+mila helps out around the cabin)
the cafeteria: Mila Alcorn 👁️and Juno Matsouka, 👁️i say "and" instead of giving the two separate descriptions because they are inseparable, trust me, i've tried. these two fish folk work together in the kitchen to provide food for all the campers at camp this and that. Practically gourmet chefs, these two are quite creative. Even though there's two of them, you'll never have to worry about chaos in the kitchen, mila and juno always compromise with each other, causing for some never before tasted flavors
special doodads
head of camp: Warren Earthman,👁️ he's a, stern, tired, grumpy, old man. also the walls in are covered with different brands and types of chainsaws. beside the threatening aspects of him, he also openly picks favorites and doesn't listen to anything that doesn't openly concern him or the government.
the rot: Sydney October Sargent, a weird rotting man who lives in the woods surrounding the camp. Don't get to close to him without a gas mask, please, the spores that emanate off of him are damn near hallucinogenic. Besides the skin falling off his bones, the various species of bugs living within him, and all the mushrooms/fungus living from his decomposing self, he's almost harmless. I mean, he's in shambles, a corpse who just won't let go, just try not to breathe near him.
Martime: Jedidiah A.M. Martime, a man who keep appearing in my dreams, I don't have dreams often, why is here, in color no less. this annoying, clock obsessed, not even real, man keeps trying to tell me that he's "here for you," and "it's ok, you can take a brake, you have enough time." what that man needs to do is pipe down and accept the fact he doesn't even exist in the physical plane.

Haunted
(Tw for Janice and Janice related activities, also eyestrain. And super far down, super complicated timeline jargon that will probably become outdated sometime soon so, beware.)
I'm starting to talk like you do.
I can't remember
WHO I AM.
THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED, RIGHT?!?!
(Recommended song for the long lore read)
youtube
There's times where Doom's husband looks at him, and he can tell by his eyes alone, that that's not Mephy.
It wasn't enough for Janice to abuse Mephiles. It wasn't enough for her to continously try and kill his child out of blind jealousy and rage and in a fight for control. No she had to go beyond petty domestic abuse.
Although she's dead, she never left. She toys with Mephy in his sleep and makes him experience all of his worst fears and memories night after night, she fucks with his words and makes him a liar and a manipulator where only his most subtle of actions speak of who he really is, she turns him into a monster when he's angry enough that she can take the reigns, she's all but destroyed what little hope there was for him to be normal, turned him into her puppet.
All this and he has no idea he's haunted, that when he killed her she never released her razor sharp grip from his skin, and no one else knows either, everyone believes, that's who he is, that's who he always was. But Doom has always known something's not right. No, something's completely fucked when Mephiles looks at him like this. When he goes quiet, and all that's left is the molten, unadulterated hatred in his eyes.
However it's only there for a brief instant and then it's gone. It's a short enough window where Doom doesn't question it, he only assumes it's Mephy being upset, this is just how he is.
It fills Janice with great pride to know she's still fucking up her husband's life from the inside out. Just like she did all those years ago. The only thing that's changed for her is the body that she's in.
So, as you could probs tell, the other one was a warmup. You literally can't go into the Janice stuff raw without a bit of a warmup, yanno? This is the main course, and i hope you all enjoy~ i despise her but she's also been seeping into more of the lore lately, whether it be mentions of her or her signature color. So naturally i figured, yanno, why not shed some more light on this fucking boogeyman of a woman. She is the villain of my entire au, after all. At least, of the Corrupted/Neutral branch.
Now, warning, this is gonna get hella confusing, I'm gonna be talking about updated timeline nonsense. Stuff that i had to grab notes for, and i rarely have to do that with my au. So if you'd rather hop off now, this is your time to do so. Otherwise, class is in session.
The Corrupted/Neutral branch consists of:
- Corrupted
- Neutral (Genderbent doesn't count cause it's just Neutral but fucked in a completely different way)
- Second Chance
- Doomsday
- Kidnapped
- Abandoned
- Found
- Cult
- Arcane
- Overprotection
- Faithless
- Faith
- Hopeless
- Hope
- Rekindled
- Restored
- Liberation
These are all of the, at the moment, timelines that have happened the way they did because Janice existed for the first Mephiles, Phantom.
She drove him crazy. Just like Neutral Mephy, he killed her and spent three days pacing and ripping his face out of all the pictures in the house. He found the purple emerald which heightened his madness. He sacrificed Janice's kids to the void for power in the case he ever didn't have a chaos emerald on him, ensuring the Void's grip on him. He committed 06, yet he didn't forgive Sonic and Elise, so he died. As a ghost, he tried, and tried, and failed, over and over again to find a version of himself who would agree to forgive them and reset time to fix everything. Then he trapped that Mephiles, Neutral Mephy, for 15-16 years in the void and made him patch the Neutral Timeline so that what happened to Corrupted wouldn't happen to Neutral.
In doing so, he woke up his own dead children, and they began consuming time and space. So Phantom fucked around with the Neutral timeline, to create other timelines. Mainly Second Chance, Doomsday, Kidnapped, and Abandoned. Those four Crys's and Ames's were yanked into Corrupted with Neutral Crys and Ames, and the five pairs of counterparts were forced to fight their baby variants to protect every timeline.
Every timeline that has cropped up after that is a split, a twin, married into the timeline, or a child timeline of two other timeline.
Faith, Hope, and Rekindled are child timelines to Hopeless and Faithless, specifically, with Hopeless being married into the branch. Hope and Rekindled cannot exist without each other, while Faith can only exist by itself, technically creating a multi-timeline paradox
Overprotection is an early split of Neutral while Faithless is a later split from Neutral.
Cult and Arcane, twin timelines, are super early splits from Abandoned and Kidnapped (two more twin timelines), while Found and Liberation are later splits of Abandoned. The original Mephiles from Cult and Arcane, not the ones currently there, has been turned into Subject from Hopeless, while Mephiles does not naturally exist in Hopeless. The Mephiles's currently residing in Cult/Arcane, as mentioned before, was Abandoned/Kidnapped Mephiles. Yes that does mean there are 4 of this specific variant of him, and every single one of them are drastically different.
And Restored, is a split of Corrupted. A timeline where the ghost of Neutral Mephy is accidentally sent back to the very first timeline and stops Phantom from killing Sonic right before it's too late.
And of course, Neutral is the first split. The one that led to the creation of all other timelines.
Time is not relative. Time does not exist in a straight line. You cannot kill a timeline unless its strand residing in the void is destroyed/consumed. Time branches. It creates hybrid, child timelines with other timelines. It goes through similar reproduction to plants, fungi, and bacteria, spreading and growing their own strands within the void until eventually there will be an unending winding forest of them. If there is the possibility of a change drastic enough to change time, it creates a whole new timeline. And each timeline will crop up at different times, but every timeline will match up with each others' present, making the Void and time itself a truly eldritch creature.
Each timeline is biologically different in some shape or form. So you get errors. Deviations. Things that aren't possible in another timeline. People who act ever so slightly different on a fundamental level, or who look just a little off from their counterparts for seemingly no reason. If it weren't for these biological differences, timelines would not exist outside of mere tampering. Yet there are constants. Red strings of fate, the reassigning of souls, deaths that cannot be undone, only exchanged for other lives.
And all of this. Every single bit of this madness. Is due to Phantom, wanting to give the world another chance, give humanity another chance, live a normal life, do what he thought normal people did.
And he picked the one mortal woman who could fuck up reality itself and give the Void true sentience.
Sentience that has been influenced by people it favors.
Janice is my secret villain. Janice is the reason everything happened. Phantom would have never killed her and gone mad if she hadn't done the things she did to him. Things that i can only partially mention. And now, she haunts a handful of timelines by still being physically present, residing in the body of her unaware, suffering husband. The only being unchanged by time itself. She's a blight, a sickness. The creeping darkness that even the shadows are afraid of, that even the Void won't threaten. The only woman who can terrify a god. The only woman who can strike fear into an alien warlord with only a look. The only woman that can be felt and percieved by so many that don't even know she's there. Her red string of fate is forever tied to Mephy, to the point counterparts who have never met her, such as Null, still flinch at her glare and feel the intense urge to run if ever they are unfortunate to still cross paths with her.
She'd be so thrilled to see the mess she's caused.
WOOOOO OKAY EVERYONE WHO MADE IT PAST ALL THAT, GOOD JOB, HIGH FIVES ALL AROUND, ARE YOUR HEADS SMOKING CAUSE MINE SURE IS!!!!! I'm sorry i just get a huge rush whenever i get to go fully fucking mask off like this about my lore and how it works XDDDDDDD i genuinely doubt anyone else has made it this far so like, lemme know if you actually did and if you have any questions, i LOOOOOVE talking about this stuff XDDDDD

Do you have an infodump on your captain Agent 4?
Firstly, thank you so much for the ask and interest!!
Secondly, I sure do! Conelia's my first and main Splatoon OC so she has. a lot. of lore, and I'll gladly infodump some stuff :D
Let's start with her general reference sheet! I think it makes for a nice introduction:
I think the first thing anyone asks (reasonably so) when I tell them that she's the captain is "Why not Agent 3?" In my agent story, Agent 3 is completely MIA since the end of Octo Expansion, and even without taking that into account, Conelia spends a lot more time with Marie and Callie than he (being very introverted) ever did, and she's definitely more dedicated to being a good fighter. So, when it came to choosing who's going to be the next captain, she was a very clear choice.
Being one of the captains of her competitive team, she was already used to this sort of responsability, too! The NSBS sure can sponsor her dream of being a professional competitive player, and this just meant more time to be spending with the Squid Sisters, which can't be a bad thing in her opinion.
Here's an overall of my (active) agents:
Asra and Radish are a bit outdated since I've added more interesting things to their lore since I made this picture, but the rest pretty much remains the same!
Conelia really enjoys Asra's company as her first pupil, being much more proactive and giving more pieces of random advice than we see the Captain do in the game. After the events of ROTM, the two of them very often communicate mostly through sign language, since it usually feels more comfortable for Asra (who is mostly nonverbal due to some circumstances in their life, but with Conelia they sometimes speak). She's super excited and wants to teach Asra everything she can, acknowledging that they "have a lot of potential".
She also has a long friendship history with both Agent 3 and Agent 8, but they might not be super relevant to the conversation at hand? I do have this relationship chart from some time ago that could be a fast, superficial view however (don't mind the old designs, drawings are a little old, but the info is still correct):
So yeah, if we talk about the general character, Conelia has most of the attributes usually associated with Agent 4 (the excitedness and general perceived vibe, the "always busy with school" aspect of it, living far from Inkopolis or Splatsville, etc). The most important aspect of her personal life that I feel affects how she handles leadership (and therefore her work as a captain) is having inattentive parents who forced her to be independent since way too young.
It took her some convincing from the Squid Sisters to accept recruiting a new agent, even though 8 is mostly not working with them anymore - she just wants to do everything herself all of the time, even though she knows that workload would be too much for her.
I won't go too far into detail on her personal life right now (or I'd make an actual essay here), but hopefully this infodump was interesting to you :D once again thank you for the interest and the excuse to dump about my ocs in public

I LOVE YOUR ISOLATION AU!!!!!!! I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!! IT'S EXACLY WHAT I NEEDED!!!!
I was wondering, do you have a masterpost or something of the sort so that it's easier to find the AU's parts in order? I'd love to understand all I can about this AU :3
First of all, thank you for allowing me to wake up to like over 90 notes on my main account?! I'm elated that you're interested in my work!💕
Most older lore posts and comics for the AU are outdated in some aspects now (I'd say most things before March 2023, and even those might have details missing that I added more recently), but if you go through the tag "isolation lawlight" on my blog, you can find all the official stuff related to it, as well as this Ao3 collection that encapsulates all written works related to it.
Actually, let me use this opportunity to summarize the events in their freshest form eversince I wrote Isolation Prologue.. Eherm.
While the canon events of Death Note remain unchanged, as I believe it is enough lead-up to a sensical alternate fate, the latter days of what would have been L's life differ slightly yet significantly from canon, in the sense that he changes his approach in 2 ways: 1. He decides that imprisoning his suspects for his own safety while putting the note through the 13 day experiment is not an overdone plot device and takes a 50/50 gamble that Misa and Light are indeed currently Kira, and 2. he redirects the emotions from the foot washing scene into something even truer, which, while not necessarily romantic at this point, stems from a place of sympathy and yearning for Light's company, 'granting' Light a second lease on life in a place where neither of them have to fight for the greater good anymore, and while L keeps doing his job with Light's input to keep him satisfied for the time being, L slowly fades from the public eye until finally Mello, Near and Matt take over for him. (I have another semi-canon plot point mentioned in places where Light gets his own detective alias to help L permanently change the world and keep himself satisfied until they both retire but I haven't gotten to write that fic yet)
So, to both prove to himself once and for all that Light IS Kira and to Light that he has been caught, a private trial is held sentencing Light, after which Light's death is staged on the way to the holding facility, from which point on Light is kept in L's own holding facility to make amends with his and L's new dynamic until the house you see them living in throughout the AU has finished construction. It's luxurious off-the-grid living, so to speak, and another one of L and Watari's unnecessarily posh manifestations. Don't ask how they got consent to put a house in the middle of the most northern Canadian territories either (they probably didn't). The AU started as me literally wanting to put them in a vacuum so I could do character study on them and let them be intimate away from the greater goal in canon DN, but turned out to be great potential to house all my favorite interests and involve my OTP in it too.
Here's a list of comics and literature that compose the major "story beats" of the AU in order of occurrence:
Pre-domestic (Isolation Prologue)
First kiss: first & new
Moment I'm not sure if to scrap or not of L realizing this is both their lives now
Second kiss
Light losing his memories of the death note (new one)
Promises to briefly return to civilization ("when this is over" scrapped)
Their first time sleeping together
Isolation Meronia Prologue
Light & L visit a Christmas market (Takes place during Isolation Meronia)
...shenanigans insue (X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X,...)
Watari explaining to Light why he is the exception to L
L opening up to Light about his feelings during Isolation Prologue (it was quite Light-centric)
Aaand this is their house btw. I kinda wanna add a little garden out front
Hope this helps you, OP, and others like you!♡ Thanks again for the ask!

6 because if yesterday's lore post i wanna know more about themmmm
I was really hoping someone would ask this one so ty a bunch!
[Tav Ask Game]
6. Does your Tav have any friends from their past? Are they still friends?
Vir’s old friend group consisted of them (nicknamed Scout at the time) and 4 others: Boss, Queenie, Soldier Boy, and Ace.
(soldier boy and ace's desgins are a little outdated here but I can't mod my game rn and im too lazy to draw them lol)
Boss (Gaius): A tiefling paladin Warlock and the leader of their little group of misfits. Virra’s bestfriend - soulmate? Lover? Biggest Regret. He was a beacon of hope, a man completely devoted to making sure his family was safe, secure, and wanted for nothing; the perfect target for a devil's contract.
When he eventually failed to live up to his end of the deal, a small army of fiends descended upon their guildhall to seize their ill-gotten gains and drag him into the hells. Queenie and Virranan were the only others to survive the ordeal and Vir blames himself for not noticing the signs sooner.
Virran swore that if she ever saw him again, she’d kill him.
Queenie (Kiaran): Half-Drow Bard, the bubbly and charismatic morale of the group, and Vir’s favorite dancing buddy. She often served as a distraction during heists and moonlighted as a general performer at various Inns. After Gaius’ betrayal, performing became her main gig, and she now owns a small tavern in the lower city.
She and Virran haven’t spoken since they buried Ace and Soldier Boy, but Vir’s been keeping tabs on her and pulling strings in the background to keep her safe.
Soldier Boy (Nicholas): Half-Orc Fighter, he was the muscle of the company, known for being a bit of a menace but a gentle giant to the group. More often than not he could be found at the guild bar making drinks and looking to knock the heads of new recruits.
He was killed protecting Queenie during the guildhall raid and Vir was forced to drag him out because she refused to leave his body behind.
Ace (Lunetta): Halfling Rogue, their ace (haha) in the hole when It came to heists, the best pickpocket and sneak thief in the guild. She wasn’t as sociable as the rest but she was known for her witty and deeply sarcastic attitude and It wasn’t uncommon to see her riding on Virran or Soldier Boy’s shoulders.
It took a week to find her body amongst the wreckage, only identifiable by her necklace.
#ask game#oc: virranan#thank you again for the ask!#I really need to draw them all with their updated design#but no time :(
