Graphic design artist Moataz Abu Sakran/ @moatazart has provided extensive documentation of the genocide against Gaza. His photos and videos have been used—often without credit—by major media outlets, and his posts are featured on this blog regularly.

Moataz and his wife and baby girl are trapped in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital complex. The area has was under complete siege for 13 days, and made life even more difficult and dangerous than before. In addition to the physical violence of the siege, the occupation’s famine has made food extremely scarce—Moataz and Mariam can no longer find milk and nutritious food for baby Maria.

They were able to raise enough funds to begin the paperwork involved in evacuating to Egypt, but exorbitant processing fees have totally depleted the money they had reserved to find a place to stay in Egypt. They need funds to procure food and shelter while they rebuild their lives in Egypt (God willing), otherwise they will be homeless and destitute.

There was an increase in donations after we initially shared the link on this blog. We are hoping that will happen again. Please support Moataz’s family via this link so that they can reach safety. Hi, I would like to tell you guys about this family who has just reached for me to help, this is Mohammed Al Munasira from Dir Al-Balah in Gaza, A father of three, Abdualrahman, Sarah and Lynn, he and his wife and his kids are the only survivors from their big family who used to be with his parents and his sisters. Mohammed has a respiratory disease and he is struggling to get the treatment he needs.

Hello, my name is Noha, a mother of 4 children in Gaza. We now live in inhumane conditions, lacking all the necessities of life. We have lost our home and our loved ones. We have been forced to move more than 9 times so far and we are now subject to an evacuation order. My children and I were forced to live in this. The infected place, in tents that do not protect us from anything, neither the cold of winter nor the heat of summer. We have been here for months, among the filth and sewage. My children are sick and suffer from wasting, hepatitis, and many other complications, skin and respiratory diseases. We cannot obtain food or medicine. There is no water for cleaning or bathing.There is no place to shower, we literally live in filth!! Diseases and epidemics, what is our fault in all of this? Do we have to face all this to survive death? To die slowly every day? From hunger, thirst, illness, fatigue, or even from depression and fear! My children long for their warm bed and our beautiful home, but now they have turned to ashes, missing their schools, their friends, and their most basic rights as children! They miss their forgotten childhood among tents and water lines, searching for food or killing harmful insects that attack them throughout the day!

hi everyone, noor (@noor-y-ashour) has reached out to me and asked for me to share her story with you all. i know you're all familiar with my friend amal; noor is her sister, and she and her family are in desperate need of help. her 4 year old son, muhammad, did not have enough oxygen in his body during birth, and thus he suffers to this day from muscle relaxation and mobility limitations.

before october 7th, he was receiving extensive physical therapy and medical care, but none of these are now available. his condition since has worsened significantly because of this. additionally, noor and her family have been displaced from north gaza, and have little access to the necessary means of survival, especially food and water.

I am Moamen, a Palestinian from Gaza currently residing in Germany. I am working to collect donations to support my family in Gaza, who are experiencing extremely difficult conditions following the recent war. My family consists of ten members; my father suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure, while my mother has hypertension.

Photos Before and After the War:

In these photos, we present a glimpse of my family's life before and after the war. The first photo shows our home in Gaza before the bombing, where my family lived in peace and good health, with a stable source of income and a supportive community.

The second photo depicts the destruction that befell our home due to the bombing. After the house was destroyed, my family was forced to live in a tent in Deir al-Balah, facing extremely harsh conditions. During the bombing, five family members sustained serious injuries, and we lost all sources of income after the destruction of the commercial shops that supported us.

My brother Ahmed lives in northern Gaza and suffers from severe shortages of medical treatment and food. He has three young children: Amir, Malak, and Muhammad. Amir suffers from a skin condition caused by living in the tent under the high temperatures in Gaza, and requires special medical care. As for Muhammad, he has polio and his condition is worsening due to a lack of necessary medical care.

The situation in Gaza is extremely dire, and my family, like many other families, urgently needs support and assistance to meet their basic needs, including medicine, food, safe shelter, and special medical care. Additionally, we are seeking to move to Egypt as soon as possible when the border opens to receive necessary treatment and seek safety.

@moatazart is a graphic design artist and self-taught journalist living in north Gaza. He has supported our blog with updates directly from Gaza City, and both our page and the Tumblr community owe him an enormous debt for risking his life to share the truth.

Moataz, his wife Maryam, and their baby girl Maria were attempting to evacuate to Egypt following the destruction of their home and the siege of Al-Shifa Medical Complex that trapped them for weeks. They hoped to get to safety in Egypt, and find work so they could raise the funds needed to return to Gaza and rebuild their home. However, the day before they were set to travel, the occupation illegally seized control of Rafah crossing. The crossing is now closed and it is not known when it will reopen.

Moataz and his family are now trying to raise funds to rebuild their home after it was destroyed by lOF bombardment. They will not be able to raise the required funds on their own if they cannot reach Egypt, so they need our support in order to rebuild their home.

8 months of cruel war passed, as if it were 80 years of torment, hunger, and fear☹️

💔My brother walked for nearly an hour to get flour, but he always returned with nothing, just a feeling of sadness and oppression.

💔After a full week, my brother was able to provide the flour, and then my mother got up, eliminating the pain in her hand and back muscles that had worsened due to the war, to knead the bread.

💔And then the process of collecting old wood and cardboard from the streets in order to light a fire, which also caused my mother a severe allergy, but we have no choice, as death and disease are inevitably ahead of us. 🥺

Omar's Story: A Call for Hope in Times of War‼️🆘

My name is Omar, a young man from northern Gaza, and a university student majoring in Information Technology and Design. My life was going well, filled with ambition and passion for a promising future. But since the war began on October 7, 2023, everything has changed.

With the start of the war, I found myself surrounded by destruction and fear. The university where I was studying, a place I considered a sanctuary for developing my skills and achieving my dreams, was completely destroyed. It turned into ruins amidst the devastation, leaving all my plans and dreams in limbo.

I have always been a distinguished and outstanding student in my studies. I had an indescribable passion for IT and design, and I aspired to contribute to building a better future for my country and my family. But the war destroyed all of that. It ruined my future, halted my educational journey, and took away the security I was seeking.

Today, I am in a difficult situation, trying with all my might to find a way out of this harsh reality. I need your help and support to continue my education and achieve my dreams. I am not only seeking an escape from the war but also a chance to reclaim my life and future.
