Alright, for the past day for three, I’ve been seeing a bit of how apparently people in the Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel fandom have been being rude to people outside of the fandom for making redesigns of the characters. And from what I’ve seen, those people are just doing because they feel like those characters have things in their design which need to be improved, which I can see. And this is coming from someone who *used* to like them both before I stopped because realise how it wasn’t as good as I thought it was (especially with Helluva Boss). And it reminded about how a while back, I think about just about over two years ago, I wanted to try my hand at making some sort of improvement of Helluva Boss. So I made a little project in which I called “Helluva Boss Rewritten AU”, where not only did I redesigned the characters but also tried rewriting them a little, some where a few extra details while some where changing things that I thought needed improvement. I didn’t like Vivziepop and I felt like she was NOT good when I came to writing characters and such, and I still think that way. It got discontinued due to getting stumped with redesigns (I got stuck with Verosika’s human disguise and Stolas’s father). And so I wanted to show them here and see what people thought of them…

Hello, hello, in keeping with the theme of differences between humans and hylians, what about the chain with a fem/gn human reader with curly hair and vitiligo? In Hyrule there doesn't seem to be much diversity in terms of hair or skin. I don't even think curly hair exists there and I think the chain's reaction to those features would be interesting.

SO real, im not confident from the clips ive seen outside of Botw and OG loz (the only two ive played so far) that there's even been a Side Character or NPC with anything more curly than like,, 2b?? 😭

itd be cool to think that some hair bobbles dont work on lots of hylian heads bc i like to believe a lot of them have non-thick hair or slick hair strands

so like stuff is harder to keep in their hair, for some part of the hylian population not all

like in my little fictional verse? world? au? of linked universe hyrules, hair sticks are popular, bc they can be twisted around it or ponytail holders, basically anything that can in some way shape or form attach/provide tension to hold itself to their hair

idk maybe like other species besides hylians have thicker hair, esp in colder areas? habitats

but ur like, hylian shaped, so its super pretty for the boys to see, and Four has been ✨Inspired✨

ur legit his muse atp, and he can be found casually working at the little accessories whenever there's free time, or if they're in town and he gets access to the forge

ur hair is just so easy to put things like this in!!

tho i will say Four struggles to actually implement pretty hairstyles to go with them, and the colors arent much better, they argue over it too much lol

surprisingly Twi, Wars, Sky, and Legend I could see actually taking the time to sit down and learn about ur hair type enough from you to help make something kinda close to these styles so u can actually have pretty hair and also use the hair ornaments Four's obsessively made 100s of

(some of the boys have also been gifted one or two to wear, Twi, Sky, Time, Wars, and Hyrule wear like one or two, but Wild, Wind, Legend and Four wear At Least 4 or more at any given moment)

It got to the point where u didnt have the inventory to hold them all, until one day Winds like:

Wind: hehe, just ask vet to hold them all

You: what?? i cant ask him to take up so much space in his inventory just for me! he doesnt even use but one or two i gave him..

Wind: nope, rejected, i pinky promise he'd do it, do it in a heartbeat too

You: I dont know..

Wind: just walk up to him and do ur best begging baby seal eyes, and Legend's gonna melt like a chuchu on a rock in the sun lol

you try it, with only minimal begging and puppy eyes, and before u even finish "hey, Lege, so, i was just wondering, if you dont have room of course thats fine, but i just have a lot of these-"

and he's already looking away and thrusting one of his bottomless bags at you, holding it out saying "well?? hurry up, i dont have all day cmon"

its lowkey become a competition amongst the Links who can do ur hair, doing the best/prettiest hairstyles for you,

they even have tiers like weekly basis, monthly, and recently have upgraded to yearly as u spent more time with them lol

(legit Legend outright puffing out his chest and crossing his arms all proud whenever u compliment his work, Twi grinning like a little kid all excited, if he was Wolfie when u complimented his hairstyle his tail would of coure be wagging, Wars preens and looks entirely too smug, dont tell the others but he's also the best at upkeeping ur hairstyle for you like adjusting stuff that loose or fell or if u need more hair oil or smth, Sky goes all pink in the cheeks and u swear his pointed ears wiggle a little when u compliment his hairstyle - and YES it secretly earns them more brownie points if u like it amongst their hairstyle competition)

oh and feeling jealous competitive for just no reason at all, against Four for making so many hair accessories, Legend is continuously making you bonnets, reversible ones, patterned ones, he even experimented with making some magical ones that kept your head warm/cool without damaging your curls <33

(u cannot thank him multiple times or thank him too excitedly, bc he goes all red and speedwalks off and actually hides from you lmao)

changing to the vitiligo aspects

there was a general sense of wonder from the heroes at your curly hair and skin pigments, but they definitely didnt press you abt it, even if some were clearly staring at you with these huge curious eyes at first (coughwindcough)

the curiousity rlly just turned to admiring not long after traveling together, and it was def a ritual to do a little spin and show all the guys ur new hairstyle whenever one of them helped you/did ur hair for you

but Wild/Legend/Wars were def the best abt helping make you/find you makeup here, whether ur the type to conceal ur pigment changes more, or blend them, or even do something kinda fun like this

they are very supportive of whatever choice u make abt ur skin, or even if u change ur mind every now and then/constantly, doesnt matter to them theyre rolling with it <3

(also goes w/o saying they dont care if ur vitiligo pigmentation is symmetrical or "aesthetically pleasing", its kinda silently, all-heroes-agreed, ur just beautiful)

Wild, Hyrule, Twilight and Wind would def have the most fun/take u up on ur offer on the designs like the above pics, once again, if u let them/thats ur style

(Wind would absolutely try to make small patches into something else, like the kitty picture lmao - u just go from looking at Hyrule's gorgeous light/dark skintone flowers he's bashfully painted down ur arm, to panning over to ur other arm in Wind's grasp filled with seagulls, a chuchu, the King of Red Lions boat??, and a really good drawing of Ganon himself where he used your lighter/darker skin tones to literally shade him 😭😭LMAO??? Time tried to be srs and get onto him but he couldnt keep his laughter contained enough to do it, interuppting him midsentence and shit, bc u know he wouldve done the same thing if u gave him ur arm💀)

but they truly dont make a big deal out of or stare excessively at you, they figure out boundaries quick, along with just being genuinely sweet and decent guys

and if any hylian stares at u weird or a little too long in public in towns or smth, they might even notice before you do tbh

You, minding ur business checking out a vendors items, suddenly hearing Wars slide up next to you with the kind of voice he only uses around particularly grating/annoying nobles

"She's not an attraction, move along. It's rude to stare."

And by the time your looking up and around for whoever he aimed that nearly hissed out remark at, it's just u and him at the stand again, and when u turn back to him, Wars is just smiling and holding up a fruit for you to evaluate

(one time Twi outright growled a bit at someone behind you and when u turned around to see wth was going on, he was pink cheeked and very obviously covering up by whistling badly lmao)

Rating: 10/10 very silly boys abt it all, the little ways they all care abt u is either sweet or silly or somewhere in between

behold, psychoklok! these goobers are a silly psychonauts/metalocalypse au i've been rotating in my head for almost a year now. less focused on psychonauts characters but more on dethklok, and how their lives would be changed if they were psychic/in the psychonauts universe, and had to deal with all this in their 30s-40s (yeah, their powers would get more intense as the metalocalypse dawns) while charles (also psychic) has to frantically yet hesitantly consider getting the actual psychonauts involved after their mental health declines/spirals out of control post-aotd. much fun!

nathan's good with a few things like psi-punch and mental connection, the latter being how he gets so many of his ideas. his thought train's slowed down now that he's a rich sheltered asshole, though. you'll notice some of their powers have little brackets next to them, and it's because i only think they'll realise they have these powers later in their story, like nathan and his very powerful hydrokinesis. surely that's not a sign of anything at all.

murderface isn't too varied in the psychic department. all of his self-hatred over the years has formed into a very, Very powerful form of blastokinesis though, and he make does very well with how he uses this (who am i kidding, he's using psi-blast to blow up squirrels and frogs and piss off the others) despite his insecurities about knowing only one power. well! good news willy! you're gonna get some command over ice post-salacia possession! surely you won't have complicated feelings about that at all!!!!!!!!

skwisgaar skwigelf is truly taller than a tree here!!! directly contrary to how cold she acts, she's unusually adept with pyrokinesis. which could mean nothing. she's familiar with clairvoyance, she sees the others like this--

(old doodle from like a year ago lol back at the conception of psychoklok, with an example of clairvoyance views from the psychonauts wiki for context on how it works with characters) --with them being extensions of their instruments they play in the band, nothing else, because she's keen on seperating herself from them and insisting theyre just bandmates. girl you live in the same house together. and yeah, toki's guitar looks beat up and stupid for a reason, she's not subtle. despite this, she's sort of insecure too, hence the clairvoyance, she thinks a lot about how people see her, especially in regards to her no.1 guitarist schtick. if you havent noticed, skwisgaar is a woman to me and i use exclusively she/her with her btw. #transgenderism

pickles looks like a pickle on purpose, yeah. it was just too easy! he used to use his telepathy for much cooler things (or sneakier things, like stealing beer as a teen) but now he mostly uses it for grabbing beer bottles that are out of arms reach while he sits on the couch watching tv, or pissing people off. depends on the day. pickles is probably one of the only people in the world who can regularly lace their weed with psitanium, and not suffer a total mental collapse, for some reason. how he works is unknown. the adverse effects of the psitanium consumage is that he's starting to float everrrr so slightly off the ground, but its more apparent with his floaty hair. (which i plan to resemble octopus limbs more, so im keeping his visible shitty white guy dreads down to 8, like 8 octopus legs!) he's silly, i love drawing his lanky ass.

toki seems pretty much the same, but he's very insistent that psychics arent a good thing. ...despite being a (repressed) psychic himself. it's a lore-piece that ive elaborated on in another drawing, but suffice to say, with the parents he has, him being psychic wouldn't end very well. i think he and loboto have a few things to talk about. (notice his head scar. hm...) anyway, his death curse manifests as precognition in this au, once that repressed power begins to unleash itself, toki becomes all to aware of all the death surrounding himself and the band. oh the tragedy! oh, and rockzo isnt a character in this au (because i hate him) but rather a figure from toki's imagination as a child manifested as mental projection, more like an imaginary friend which embodies him impulsivity and things he couldnt have as a kid. he came back after toki got his dad killed as a method of toki coping by being impulsive and shit, now he drinks vodka at 6 in the morning as urged by his little paper clown friend. this rockzo serves in furthering tokis character development only, once toki finally lets go of him and what he stands for (impulsive self destructive habits to cope) thats him gone forever. because iiii donttt likkeee himmm...

psychonauts is a really fun series to work with for aus and character stuffs because the games are just so lovely, i've even got a whole doc focused on what i think their mental worlds would look like! nathan explosion and his mental blood ocean and toki wartooth with the horrors of his icy past.. would love to draw some memory vaults for them sometime!

fun trivia! nathan is the only one here with 4 fingers. this is because he's the only one out of the band with no experience with instruments, he just does vocals :]

At first, I was gonna have a sketch and move to digital before posting about this Coffee shop AU. But it have been taking it for so long now for me to actually talk about this AU again... So I just fucking we ball and go with the sketch.

A detail about this AU

After the incident of 87, Turbo and The twins managed to escape just in time before both games got unplugged. Unfortunately, Turbo got caught, but since no one knows what to do with him, no one wants him to be in any game. The only thing they did was keep an eye on him in the game center, yet no one wants to be around or talking to him ever since.. He's also often stealing food from the twins too, because most of the time, no one is giving him food.

The twins are living kinda a bit better, even though they're homeless now, but most of the game characters are being kind to them since they're seeing them as the victim. Both of them are often getting food and stuff from the other, with an exchange of doing some work for them in a different game.

Many years later, before Sugar Rush plugged in, there's a new game that's a shop management style that is kinda similar to Root Beer Tapper, but in the cozy coffee shop version.

The main character of that game doesn't really know about the incident, and found Turbo and the twins somehow, and thought that it might be better if they're having a home to live.

The others don't have anything again for the twins, but for Turbo, a lot of characters kinda warn them a lot about how dangerous he could be inside other games.. They still confirm that it'll be fine to let Turbo be in their game because the game itself is not so big and mainly in the small café. It's easy to keep an eye on him and at least they'll know now where he is, so they can check on Turbo more often.

At the end, Turbo and the twins end up in the Café management game. Even though it's a totally different type of game that's a polar opposite of racing, at least they're having home now. Since it's not a kind of game Turbo isn't really interesting, he also doesn't do any harm to the game itself either. Although, he doesn't get a chance to take over other racing games, because people always keep an eye on him…

After a few years, both Turbo and the twins managed to adapt to the new life style, yet they're never leaving the life or racer, because this game also having a system that while making the highest high score will be “ the employee of the month ”, and they're fighting each other a lot to get that place. However, it's always Turbo who gets that place every time…

( But there's one time Nitro finally got the place, but realized it's not really that worth it, so they gave it back to Turbo later.. )

Turbo and the twins will start working after the arcade closes, while the main character of the game is taking a break at this time. All three of them are taking care of the other characters that's becoming their customers at that time, and the Café itself quickly becomes another popular place in the arcade with a different fancy drink and coffee.

Characters

Turbo : Due to the new environment that’s more relaxed and less stressful than the racing game, and the time over the years.. it’s surprisingly effective Turbo quite a lot. He’s still prideful and selfish, but not as much as he was. Sometimes he’s kinda kind chil, but reminds a grumpy and goofy personality depending on the situation. Turbo is actually unexpectedly being quite a good work employee, and doing anything very fast. Assuming that because he wants to keep the place of employment of the month to himself. Even though he’s still unlikable from a lot of people, he’s the best employee they have now.

Nitro : Probably the most normal kind of person now, he’s the face of the café and always at the counter. He seems to be quite calm and even a little bit of charisma for most of the time. Nitro is still unlike Turbo from getting their game unplugged though, but they’re now trying to move on from it.. and without any trigger to make them into such a prideful person like some of the universe. Nitro remains a pretty nice person to be around or hanging out with. Also, they’re still having a pretty nice sibling born with Booster.

( PS : They hair didn’t get cut by Turbo in this AU, so it’s still long )

Booster : In this universe, Booster’s personality is still kinda grumpy and seems to have a bit of anger issues sometimes, unlike the Wøndergotten version when they decided to change their personality to be more likable. Oftentimes, they’re likely to have agreement with the customer because of their short temper. However, they can still have some mood swings going on too.. Booster is still pretty much having some problems about this, but at least Nitro is trying to help them with emotional control.

Also, all of my lacey posts will take place in the same au where all of the main girls are dating their own version of y/n cause they need love.

Lately, you've been receiving some weird things on your doorstep. It's nothing creepy, quite the opposite, in fact, it's very romantic things.

It's mostly love letters in which the mysterious sender writes about how much they admire you and love everything about you. They describe everything about you in details and compliments.

The letters are always signed "your secret admirer" and are often accompanied by flowers, your favorite type nonetheless.

While the content isn't creepy in on itself, the fact that your dear friend Lacey had a similar experience with a stalker, which she thankfully managed to get out of, made you uneasy to accept the letters as actual love notes so you decided to talk to your friends about it.

"You have a secret admirer? Dude That's so cool"

"Is it? It kinda makes me uncomfortable"

"O-oh does it?"

"Yeah i mean, remember what happened to Lacey?"

You looked at her a bit suspiciously but shrugged and left, saying goodbye to everyone. Jay breathed a sigh of relief seeing you go away, since she probably couldn't have kept a straight face anymore around her crush, but quickly got worried again as she saw her friends approaching her with teasing smirks on their faces

"Soooo when are you gonna tell him?"

"Eh? W-what are you talking about dude, I don't have to tell h-him a-anything"

"It's a miracle he didn't find out yet"

"Hey dude, i-i mean y/n, so yeah I'm your secret admirer, please don't think I'm weird I wasn't stalking you or anything I just really know your face, a-and was too scared to confess. I want you to know that everything I said in the letters was true, I really, really like you.....a-and so....wanna be my boyfriend?"

/Overanalysed, geeky ass geeking about ST0 lore ahead

CW for violence, cannibalism, drugs, mentions of child trafficking, and spoilers

I don't see anybody talking about the secrets and the more obscure parts of the story besides the most obvious ones so I decided to do it myself. (I'm not gonna show any screenshots though, got too lazy, sorry lol).

But one thing I want to talk about in particular, is the type of experiments the main 4 went through. So here's the thing. In the original ST game(s), it's basically an infection AU. We all know that, but in ST0, I don't think that's the case?? I think what actually happened was that the custards were spiked by some kind of drug (that's hopefully NOT contagious) , so here's why I believe that:

-If you look closely on TW's model, his eyes aren't actually black, there're just extremely dialated and blood shot.

-He's also trembling, which is another sign that he's going through some kind of high.

-Abnormal change in behavior, there's been plenty of stories of people becoming violent as a result of a high or withdrawal.

A thing that kind of confirms my theory is a secret code you can find at the computer in the hideout, where it displays everyone's profiles, and a thing each profile had in common is that the main 4 were meant to take some kind of vaccine called "pneumorix", which is described as obsolete. I actually tried googling that up, and the closest thing I found was a completely different word similar to it, and apparently it's a vaccine that's designed to make you immune to respitory sickness like pneumonia??

So whatever is up with this drug, i don't know if it's fictional or not, but whatever is up with it, whoever consumes it will not only make you become hyperactive with cannibalistic tendencies, it also makes you hallucinate. The basement section pretty much confirms this, White states there's some kind of stench coming from the machines, which could be the drug itself, some random hallucinogenic gas, or both. Causing Ron (and probably White aswell) to see things that aren't there, but it was until Ron ingested the custard he started to fully suffer the effects.

As to why COAT thought of conducting these experiments in the first place, that I still don't know, probably because they could + ther'e evil, and I guess Ron and White aren't intentionally bad people(?), they just somehow got tangled up in this ordeal.

So, moral of the story- Don't drug kids in the name of science.

Sorry this got too long I genuinely don't know how to do the under the cut thing, and sorry I didn't provide any screensshots, but if you like the game I seriously recommend checking out these small details yourself, you'll find some really interesting stuff.

Request - i think it would be interesting if like someone did an au where kit survives (maybe is made to come back alive to learn about being human, a part for his last sacrifice and his karma) and he meets the reader. Maybe it’s the next year and reader moves there and meets him. Imagine the fluff and angst because his trust issues are all over the place but he also knows what he did was wrong. Idk I think it’ll be a fun dynamic to go through with him learning more how to be human and reader isn’t really scared when they find out just thrown off guard (either they can be normal or have some background with magic) Either way can’t wait! @venture-venus

After jentry,michle,stella, and Ed saved the town (with some of kits help) kit agreed he'd leave jentry alone and try to make new frends /find his own group of people

Which apparently proved itself to be kinda hard for kit because he didn't know who to try and talk to

What if they hate me? What uf they get scared of me like everyone else? How am I suppost to tell them I'm a demon? What if,what if, what if

All of his 'what ifs' definitely made it so much harder for him to just "be human" and make friends

That is until he met you

After trying to make friends last year he kinda knew the faces of most of the other students

But you he's never seen before, and he felt like maybe this is his chance, your new and probably needed frends anyways so that's good odds for you to be his frend right?

Your first few encounters with him were definitely a bit awkword

All of the other people he got close with were technically "targets" or people he had to manipulate into trusting him for there qui (is that spelt right?)

He didn't actually know how to make frends without the whole "manipulation" part

But he was at least nice! It was honestly kinda cute the way he would stumble over his words and fidget with his bag or rings

~Finding out he's a painted skin~

It definitely took him a long time to actually get courage to tell you

And it's safe to say he was terrified

Depending if he made up with jentry or not she'd probably help him tell you or at least give him a pep talk

he was also completely shocked when you didn't try to run away in fear or even look that scared of him really

He was even more shocked when you walked twords him

(He probably backed up a bit just out of reflex)

After he processes your not scared of him (it probably takes him a good while for it to fully set in) hes beyond relieved

Definitely still has some fear talking about it/awnsering any questions you have about his demon form

After a while (prob a long while cuz he's still scared) he'll show you how he makes his skin suit-stuff

Only if you wanted to of course he wouldn't want to make you throw up or something 😭

He eventually gets better at it, it just takes him a while to get there. One knows mystics and is good at some mystic stuff, so is gonna be specially frustraiting not to be able to control the odashi, Draxum's expectations on him don't really help. but he'll get there!! I do have a few episodes planned that tackle all of these

He doesnt really care about most of the scars, if asked, he's more likely to just shrugg it off and say they are from training or from a mission (not a lie)

there's just a couple of them that would get him excited to actually talk about (some on his shell) and I had thought to make a short comic on it, but it's been a while since I started this au and I've got so liitle out and so much of the story to tell so it's been discarted for now

When it comes specificaly to the ones from the vines, he would never in a million years admit what had happened. everyone is 100% on the dark on how he got them until the event I've dubbed Vine 2: Electric Boogaloo (more here) and even then, he would want and wont talk about them

1- not really, at least not conciously, but I've realized a few paralells between him and other characters I like, I've never considered the Zuko vibes but I've got a few people mentioned the Hunter vibes, and with that I can agree to (1 / 2 / halloween edition/ theres also a few drawings I've made joking about it but I cant find them rn, I'll post them later... probably)

On a side note, I was watching lilo and stitch and One also has a lot of Stitch vibes if we go for the more gremlin and destructive side of him and I think thats really funny, is also not the first time I've thought about that

2- Splinter knew he existed in the "I know there were 4 turltes" when the whole mutation stuff happened, but as far as he knows at some point while running away he must had dropped one turtle and didnt noticed until it was too late and he couldnt go back for him. He saw the lab explode, so all the time he has thought that turtle died

they actually meet each other after the events of Shadow of Evil, but they have seen each other a couple of times before, one time is a made up episode I have planned and the other is piggybacking on The Fast and the Furriest, being the very first time they see each other, tho is for a very short time as One is already leaving

I dont wanna talk about it much, as I like more when a story tells itself, but Splinter at this point knows his sons have been hangin out with a new friend and that fried is from the Hidden City, they had just balantly hidden the part about knowing Draxum made them and also made this other guy at the same time, but Splinter does recognize One and later the others have to explain on how they know him and what exaclty they know

One doesnt really care about Splinter, he's just this random mutant/yokai that adopted the other experiments and is an obstacle on his mission to get them to join Draxum. One know their dad doesnt like him, cause he thinks One's being a bad infuence on his sons (and One thinks thats funny), One also knows he's the one who thought them to fight, but thats pretty much it

my friend @gltchghst and i came up with a chimera!laios for a falin/laios roleswap au that i wrote a oneshot for (link here) (eventually u should check my prof in case i turn it into a series of connected oneshots).

where falin gets chest feathers, laios gets a happy trail. why? well. laios is an adult. and IM an adult.

did i lowkey trace the sketch of falin ripping her shirt because i couldn't be bothered to make the pose myself? yeah. ive never drawn that angle or pose before and i didn't wanna burn myself out trying to figure it out. im not trying to hide it so its fine.

i was gonna do a little simplified anatomy sketch for it but cannot be bothered so instead have bulletpoints

where falin has feathers, laios has fur. idk if thistle just gave falin feathers or if he combined her with another animal, but laios i think would be happy if we did two monsters instead of one + another basic trait. we ended up using dungeon rabbits, the blades of which you can very faintly see hidden in the fur on his forearms in the second image.

the red dragon itself does not actually have wings, which would technically make it a drake. (eastern dragons are technically wyrms, which also exist.) however, wings are cool, and dragons are supposed to have wings. thistle has wings on his eye of the magician dragons, and those are red. so its basically the same thing.

chimera!laios is significantly bigger than chimera!falin. falin herself isn't as tall as laios, but there's also the fact that falin has magic on her side. she has feathers to make herself appear bigger than she is. this all very much seems to play to falin's strengths, since she is a magic-user. laios, however, is a tank, and this is apparent in his bigger stature (falin's like 35 ft i think, i imagine he's 5-10 feet taller and much bulkier) and the red dragon hide across more of his body which we know is extremely tough.

falin has magic. she has Magic. HELLO. laios gets to breathe fire. ITS FAIR OKAY. laios isn't made to breathe fire so i imagine that it also severely impacts his ability to talk (rather than him being extremely disoriented or just a puppet) by causing burns on the inside of his mouth (and probably the remaining human portion of his throat before it turns into dragon). he also probably couldn't breathe the fire very far, since he does still have a human mouth, but he can also use the wings to fan any fires he does cause. modern problems.

falin has more estrogen in her body than testosterone and isn't a front-line fighter. laios, however, is Male and exercises A Lot, so his fat stores will be empty looong before falin's would have been. on top of nourishing a bigger body, he also cant eat without causing pain to himself due to the open burns on the inside of his mouth. someone else come up with a concrete way to redo the curry scene, maybe tire him out and feed him some medicinal herbs before they freeze him. mf ain't fighting for long.

laios has horns because same reason as the happy trail. my friend and i are into men. if u don't like it make your own chimera!laios design. this is for Us.

yeah this entire thing is just us 'rule of cool'ing chimera!laios and doing our best to use logic to justify it. keep scrolling.

the shirt in the second image is falin's shirt, and i think that even though they are rather similar, falin's shirts might end up being too short for laios. does this mean he got abducted with his entire everything out? no, i think either falin grabbed and salvaged a pair of his pants from their stuff (maybe the extra shirt was one they shared or maybe it got got by a dungeon creature?) or they whipped up/found him a pair of shorts. i think canonically falin borrowed marcille's underwear but i don't think anything they have is fitting laios.

maybe its because im biased considering laios is one of my favorite characters but my friend enabled me so i think laios would be capable of more destruction than falin. she's meant to use magic to locate delgal (tho she isn't often seen doing it to the extent id expect her to be), but i think laios' method of searching would be to pick up where thistle can't and use physical search-and-rescue to find delgal instead of more magic. thistle wont let him leave any more than falin, so this point is moot, but yk. i think laios' ability to destroy would also do more to symbolize thistle's growing desperation to find delgal and his willingness to destroy what's in his path to do so.

maybe soon ill redraw the falin and thistle interactions to do laios and thistle instead, but i know that i do want to draw some wish fulfillment art where thistle gets a nice big hug. it probably wouldn't be as comfy as falin's, and laios has weapons on his arms, and also laios would be really sweaty and gross with no feathers to act as a buffer, but no one said thistle had to enjoy the hug.

The new fandom discourse has certainly been, uh… interesting.

“All LU fans are the worst and can’t read! I hate how they dominate the fandom!”

“I hate Zelda fans who say we HAVE to play the games to enjoy fandom! They’re elitist gatekeepers who probably don’t even think BotW’s a real Zelda game!”

There are things about these blorbos that can really only be gleamed from an authentic playthrough, or at the very least watching someone else play it. Screenshots and headcanon and hearsay can only go so far, and it’s a very big reason why a chunk of the fandom (myself included) recommends doing a bit of research.

It’s not elitism, and it’s not gatekeeping. I literally just want y’all to enhance your experience with the fandom by having a greater understanding of the source material.

Engaging with the Zelda fandom solely through LU is, in my eyes, like engaging with Star Trek solely through the newer movies that came out.

Are you able to understand it by itself?

Sure.

Is there a lot of context that’s missing because they’re trying to call back these things that happened in the original series and you don’t understand why everyone cares so much about Khan and these dialogue parallels but something something it happened in the old one so???????

Honestly I can’t even say too much about LU fans not knowing stuff about the games, because I can’t even trust the Zelda fandom IN GENERAL to actually read anything that’s happening in them either.

A good chunk of the fandom honestly takes what “elder authorities” say on it at face value. I don’t think I need to repeat the whole incident I went through last year involving a certain someone and her thesis essay on Twilight Princess full of things that flat-out did not fucking happen.

Yet, hundreds, if not thousands of guests on tumblr have seen that essay, and they take it as the big “holy shit tp was so dark” essay instead of sitting down and actually thinking about the words that were written.

But I digress.

Yeah, LU has dominated most of the fandom. Arguably the reason why we have so many linksmeetau’s is because of how much Linked Universe exploded.

Do I like it?

No.

Do I understand all the LU x Reader stuff I see everywhere or all the fanon that was made just for this AU?

Not even a little.

Dogday and Catnap

unfortunately I'm talking more about this oughh... I have a lot of thoughts about these two

thoughts + a poll thingy about Catnap under the cut

I repeatedly said that they're besties but bc they are!! that's literally what Dogday and Catnap's relationship is by design. Besties! Though this AU there are some "tweaks"? since they're teenagers here why not (warning: angst + cringe incoming!!)

Dennis (Dogday) absolutely cherishes their friendship. He loves all his friends, of course! But with Theo, he makes the extra effort to show it. He's usually the one who often gives Theo the benefit of the doubt. That's not to say he's an enabler to him. Erm, he kind of is, but Dennis does draw a line like when it comes to trouble-making and whatnot. He's not harsh about it, though. He's a very understanding guy.

Theodore also loves his friends, but the wounds of his traumatic past hinder him from seeing that they care for him, too. He thinks that they're just merely tolerating him, which is why he keeps a distance and don't often hang out. That and, well, he's an easily-tired introvert. Perhaps anti-social, except when it comes to kids. He's very good to kids. That's besides the point-

Y'all can tell they're a popular/unpopular duo. Dennis is in the school's sports team (thinking making it baseball bc lol "fetch" and all the running, but I'm not exactly sure how US schools work) so he can be pretty busy with practice. However! Dennis always go out his way to make room for his close friends and would much rather spend time with them instead of the team or popular cliches that are desperately trying to drag him in their group. Theo is pretty much unknown, if not infamous, especially to teachers. The main reasons are that he often sleeps during class, and the teachers can't really do anything about it because when asked to answer or talk in front, he just knows what to say. Not to mention that he's very smart, being able to ace exams with ease. And when he's feeling like it, he could challenge teachers of their profficiency of their subject by asking them hard questions or callout inaccuracies/facts, making their attempts to humiliate him backfire. He... may or may not have landed in detention from time to time.

Dennis and Theodore have been friends for a long time. They were closer when they were younger, though when they entered middle school, that's where their friendship became a little more loose. Dennis (and friends) would love to hang out with Theo more, but it's kind of hard to convince the latter to join them (reasons again, are stated from above)

While the entire premise of the AU is "hehe what if their trauma forms were just akumatized/temporary villainized forms instead and they're actually (mostly) okay" this is pretty much my dilemma between them ngl

Now I'm not sure whether to keep Catnap's civilian self as Theodore Grambell or change it entirely to a different person like Dogday's. I'm kinda concerned about this part because I got jokes and thoughts which I similarly made from MLB itself (like the romantic shippy stuff) but I' bothered at how weird it's gonna be because by canon, Theodore's literally a young kid. That's weird, man. Yeah he's a bit aged up here (around 14) but still?!?! Like ngl the only reason I used him bc of the premise of the au, but I really wanna focus it more on the toy/mascot lore. Where it's more of the toys themselves rather than the kids thst were used to expirament, and the akumatizations are only references of that but are not particularly the actual whole thing.

I just realized that I've kept forgetting something I've been planning to show on here. And while I have a sideblog for my Undertale AU stuff, i'm gonna post it on here instead.

LADLE'S TALE UNDER GROUND

Aka, my Undertale Aqua/Cyan/Light Blue take

This is Ladle, Ladle Patrice Alaïs. She's smol, tiny, itty bitty, 12 years old, yet hadn't hit their growth spurt.

If you want to ask anything about this goober and their adventure, feel free!

Basis of the main story under the cut, as well as the types of endings...

rather than Toriel leaving Ladle after the tutorial bit in the Ruins, you accompany her and vice versa

she becomes a bit of a party member, and will automatically spare monsters when they're sparable

there are some rooms where she waits for Ladle, leaving them alone for a bit. these are the moments where they can actually kill anyone (if the player wishes to go down that path) (one of these times is also where they lose their Ribbon)

rather than going straight home, Toriel realizes she forgot to get groceries, and Ladle accompanies her to the city of Home while she does so (they also get a new, white Ribbon then)

during that time, Ladle wanders around and finds a small crawl space, overhearing monsters from the forming coup, that they're going to get things going at midnight. Ladle is BARELY noticed by the monsters before they leave back to Toriel, and finally going to her house and spending time with her

they don't want to tell Toriel about what they overheard, but they have an idea when they go to sleep: waking up before midnight, finding a form of self-defense (which happens to be a Toy Knife in the toybox), and going back to where they overheard the monsters, finding them and the tunnel

cue battle(s), probably multiple battles one after the other with the non-mass-murderery routes

after the battle, Ladle realizes they probably shouldn't be carrying a """weapon""" if they're going through the tunnel to King Asgore, so the throw the Toy Knife away, up on a balcony

they go to Asgore, who is literally just waking up, definitely surprised to see a human at his front door, especially one so young

the two of them have a walk-and-talk to the Barrier

once they get there, Asgore admits what he must do, and the two fight

the fight itself isn't winnable, and Ladle dies, with their soul being put in a capsule while Asgore apologizes afterwards

would have 3 main endings, a "new game+" type ending, and 2 extra endings that involve hacking the game to get.

Normal Endings

Patience - don't kill anyone Endured - somewhere in the middle Impatient - kill as much as possible

Acceptance - resetting after the Impatient ending, unable to FIGHT as it is grayed out now, play out the game as the Patience ending

all of these endings end with dying to Asgore, regardless

Hacked Endings

Inpatient - hacking your stats to beat Asgore, and since Ladle doesn't know that she would have to absorb his soul, remain stuck in the Underground, staying in the Barrier room, confused about how she managed to gain the power yet have no idea what to do now. Exception - Acceptance ending, except removing the restriction on FIGHTing and doing the Impatient ending again. This leads to Ladle being confused why she did that just to do it again, finally acknowledging the player's existence, and wondering whether this journey of hers truly has any meaning when someone else is making the choices for them. This is sorta a meta-commentary on prequel games.

Reigen gets possessed and gets sick. Unreliable narrator Reigen. Don't worry, the spirit gets caught pretty quickly, and Reigen ends up fine.

Use Your Words by CowardlyBean

Reigen gets possessed by a spirit that hates espers. He's stuck in the backseat of his body while it pilots him around, pretending to be him. It's an ass towards Serizawa and Mob. Of course the other characters figure out something is wrong.

AU in which ???% is a separate entity from Mob and it's made of energy and jumps from esper to esper. When Mob gives Reigen his power during the 1st Claw arc, ???% goes with that energy. Problem is that it didn't go back to Mob, it got stuck in Reigen. I recommend the whole series, the series is kind of depressing though. Reigen really goes through it in this series. I don't want to give too much away but... Reigen isn't gonna come out of this very... human. Each entry in the series is completed, however I can't help but feel the series itself isn't completed, it seems to end on what would be the start of this AUs version of the Separation Arc. It's a bitter ending.

A Mirror Darkly Shattered by BinaryDreams1010

Reigen gets possessed after a failed exorcism. The spirit gives him nightmares about not being important in the lives of those that Reigen cares about in an attempt to break his spirit to make it easy to take over his body.

It started with a morning smoke and forgetting to water his plant. It's a slowburn of a possession. The spirit really loves smoking. Falling into bad habits was what caused Reigen to be susceptible to this particular spirit. Serizawa and Mob realize something is wrong when Reigen has stayed holed up in his home for two days and won't answer any of their calls. After all his said and done Mob and Reigen talk about how neglecting yourself is a spiral and that everybody has parts of themselves they don't like.

miss me (love me) or you'll miss me (lose me) by BinaryDreams1010

A spirit that feeds on souls/misery jumps from a customer into Reigen. He decides to let Serizawa handle the spirit the next day but he finds himself unable to work up the energy to leave his apartment the next morning. The spirit keeps trying to make Reigen upset by saying stuff like "will anybody miss you when you're gone?" Serizawa visits to check up on him, right on time to save Reigen and get the spirit to let go of his soul.

Reigen gets possessed and tries to call in sick to get away from the espers. Of course the espers show up at Reigen's apartment anyway. The spirit ends up knocking over Mob because it's scared of him. But Reigen's worry over Mob knocks the spirit out of his body.

Reigen catches a possession off a customer who he didn't realize was actually possessed. The spirit causes hallucinations. (Story is unfinished.)

The Possession and Bad Time are Only Sort-Of Related

There is possession, and Reigen having a bad time. They are related but the possession isn't the only problem and IS also the result of another problem.

Area Hysteria by c_c_cherry

Reigen and Dimple visit a worn down building slated for demolition to get rid of a spirit. The building collapses with them in it. Dimple is fine, Reigen isn't. Dimple posses Reigen's body to help keep him alive and hope for rescue soon. Reigen gets rescued... eventually. But this isn't the end to the problems because Reigen ends up in sort of supernaturally-induced coma that Mob has to get into his head to get him out of. Long story. Marked as unfinished but ends at a really good stopping point. (Update: It started updating again)

Temporary Accommodations by Originia

Mob's body gets his stolen and he uses his astral projection power to wing up in Reigen's body to protect Reigen because some guys who want to kill him don't realize that he's not the psychic they're after. They also were the one's to still Mob's body as bait to get Reigen.

Dead Reigen Possessing his Own Body

Wasn't sure whether or not to count this. I guess his body is getting possessed and he is having a bad time.

Haunting My Own Skin by Kirii_Kitten

Reigen dies and then posses his own corpse to pretend that everything is normal. Dimple is concerned that Reigen's spirit is going to corrupt, his fears are well-founded. Reigen gets found out of course and things go to shit, but there is a happy ending.

As a whole, this fic is focused on Reigen and Serizawa's relationship and them getting together. In Chapter 7, Reigen gets very briefly possessed by a spirit he and Serizawa were trying to exorcise. Also in chapter 3 and 4, Reigen gets cursed by a spirit that makes him cold (not exactly possession but I thought I'd mention it).

Alright so, Pre-Calamity Rito world-building stuff! I’m writing this to kinda talk about my headcanons and world-building but also to kinda like give an idea of where my OCs fit into it all since I’m gonna be posting about them a lot for rito-gust! This is...very long. Like, over 1600 words kinda long. You’ve been warned!

first thing you gotta understand going into this is that I have approx. 34k words of fic/brainstorm/disconnected scenes/random shit written about this bc I have a Revali x OC pre-calamity fic (in a larger champions live AU world spanning pre-calamity to post totk. it's gotten so out of control and none of it is actually written. help 🥲) I wanted to give him a backstory bc canon gave us so little (seriously not a single person he was close to or anything? no family? friends? mentors? anything?). So a lot of this world building is skewed towards things that matter in my hypothetical unfinished fic rather than world building just for the sake of world building. So like I have a lot of thoughts on how my Rito Guard functions but only have a vague idea of what the Village Elder does 😅

So I imagine that pre-calamity there was a lot more people. The calamity was basically the apocalypse and a TON of people would’ve died, not just in Castle Town (though that’s ground zero for sure). The Rito have an advantage given their village is on a series of rock pillar islands in the middle of a lake and they can fly, but I think they still would’ve suffered a lot of losses. I actually like to think that, in addition to there just being more houses/walkways/bridges on the main island in general, some of the empty stone pillars around the lake were also part of the village that held houses and stuff, and were connected to the main island with more bridges. But during the calamity they were destroyed, like whole sections of the town just sheared off and sunk to the bottom (which I’m now I’m realizing means the remnants of those houses would be at the bottom of the lake like sunken ships and that’s fuckin cool but I’m getting off track).

So with more people in the village in general there would be more warriors—enough for them to be structured loosely into a guard, which I have creatively called the Rito Guard lol. The Guard is headed by a Captain and Vice Captain, who manage things like setting patrol schedules, sending scouts to take note of monster camps cropping up around Hebra and Tabantha, sending warriors to go take care of said monsters, escorts for travelers going through the mountains, etc. The Captain and VC would also work really closely with the Village Elder and would in general be seen as leaders in the community. At the time of the Calamity the guard is led by Captain Dunn and Vice Captain Cirra (my main OC, my darling girl, my beautiful daughter mwah I love her).

young Rito can try out for the guard as soon as they're fully fledged, which happens sometime around like 13-15, like around Tulin's age in totk. tryouts are 3 days of testing their skills in archery/close combat/flying and at the end 10 are accepted into the guard to start training. The guard itself is about 60 warriors and 10 trainees per year is generally enough to replace warriors who have been killed or who retired either due to age or injury. Training lasts 6 months and is a blend of honing skills and shadowing experienced warriors to get a feel for being warriors.

The main important concept I need to explain in order to understand the guard is wingmates. It’s really important for warriors to have back-up, someone to watch your back in a fight or go for help or make sure you aren’t going to die of exposure in the mountains if you get stranded etc. etc. The guard doesn't have enough warriors for like whole squads so they work in two person teams. Yknow like the buddy system if the buddy system was more life or death lol. That's wingmates, yay!

So basically every Rito warrior is assigned a partner to work alongside. During tryouts the candidates are also being judged to determine who will be good fits as wingmates. Generally they’ll be assigned to someone with a similar skill level. However, training wingmate assignments are made with only 3 days of observation and may not work out. Thus, training is placed in a way that has it end right in time for yearly wingmate reassignments.

See, wingmates are someone you work alongside for everything so in order for them to work you have to trust them completely. Like, you gotta connect with your wingmate on a whole nother level. But people grow and change, especially among the newer guards who are teenagers, and sometimes partnerships don’t work out or people have a falling out and no longer work well together. So every year the Captain and VC approach each guard and ask if they want to keep their wingmate or request a reassignment. If even one of the pair wants reassignment they will receive new wingmates, as forcing people to work closely together when one of them has expressed a desire not to will definitely not go well. Most commonly wingmate reassignments happen among the younger guards, as the older, more established guards will have found a wingmate they can work well with. There’s also generally a lot of wingmate reassignment requests among the newest guards fresh out of training, due to that aforementioned “assigned wingmates after only a few days of observation” thing. Everyone who’s put in for new wingmates will go on a list and the Captain and VC will sit down and discuss who gets reassigned to who. It's a necessary process to ensure everyone is working well with each other, but hoo boy can it cause drama.

So like tldr I’ve managed to accidentally recreate drift compatibility from Pacific Rim, bc drift compatiblity is awesome and I love it and the realization that I completely ripped it off hit me out of the blue one day lmao. Cirra is Revali's wingmate.

That wraps up the guard, for the most part, which is honestly the main world-building stuff I've focused on bc my fic follows Revali and Cirra from trainees to the calamity. But I've got a couple more miscellaneous things so hang tight we're not done quite yet.

The other main fun thing I wanna talk about is stables. Rito Stable exists pre-calamity and is run by a pair of brothers. Given that it's so close to a major town it sees a lot of travelers, and as such it also attracts a lot of traveling merchants. Once a week the stable hosts a market where these merchants set up booths in front of the stable. Cirra's dad, Tanwe, is an artisan who runs a booth there. He makes a lot of things but mostly jewelry and accessories.

Snowfield stable also exists pre-calamity and is run by a sweet old couple, Ren and Gessa, as well as their daughter and son-in-law. Snowfield stable doesn't see a ton of travelers, being so far north and in such a harsh environment. The most frequent vistors there are Rito warriors, who will stay there when doing scouting trips or patrols in the snowfield area. Gessa is a retired healer who frequently patches them up if they've run into trouble. The stable also brews it's own vodka, which they sell mainly to any merchants who make the trek out there. The son-in-law also makes occassional trips to the Rito Stable market to sell there as well.

Lastly just a couple fun things:

I think the Rito appreciate a good party, and as such will generally gather for food and drinks and music for any reason they can deem "eh, good enough." This is especially true as the calamity approaches and moments of joy are much needed.

Rito have a pretty low alcohol tolerance compared to other races.

The guard hold annual competitions in archery and close combat, both solo and partner ones. Revali is the youngest warrior to ever hold every record. No one has been able to beat his records yet.

Any Rito too injured to fly is transported back to the village by a sling held in the talons of two Rito. Since they need to be able to fly in sync this is generally done by a pair of wingmates, but not always. It's mostly safe.

Rito are considered adults at 18, but aren't considered fully matured until their cheek spots molt, which happens usually around 18-21. Historically Rito were only considered adults once their cheek spots had molted, but centuries of intermingling with the other races—particularly Hylians—led them to adopt age as a marker of adulthood instead. However, Rito are barred from drinking until their cheek spots molt since they aren't fully matured.

Rito who are in a relationship exchange feathers with one another, which they braid into their hair. Feathers in one braid indicates courting while feathers in multiple indicates marriage. (i'm aware this isn't like a unique headcanon most of us like the feather braiding lol it's cute)

I like to think that as birds the Rito like shiny bits and baubles generally braid beads and ornaments into their hair and wear lots of jewelry/accessories. (i know that's not an all bird thing it's mostly a corvid thing but shhhhh i like shinies) (also side note: this, along with Tanwe being an artisan, is why he and his daughters have such complicated designs, god they're a handful to draw)

Speaking of braids and clothes and stuff, braids are very important to rito and braiding someone else's hair is a very intimate act only done between family, close friends or romantic partners. Preening is similar.

ANYWAY, I’m assuming your talking about DILLH—

Prepare for a long wall of words-

So, to put the fic in general in simple terms, it’s about my OC (Caden) who was created by Draxum 17 years during the Krang War, however Caden was kept secret for all those years so no one but Draxum knew of him. He was created to be a “replacement” for in case one of the brothers died.

Caden’s whole thing is that when he wakes up from stasis in the secret lab, he’s got no clue who he is or where he is and basically just confused about everything. NOW the only reason he is even awake right now is because Leo was out battling Prime but he lost/got too cocky and “died”. But Mikey who arrived to Leo’s side on time managed to use his mystic to grab a hold of Leo’s soul and transfer it over to the nearest thing/person that would be able to hold his soul. And that was Caden.

Leo’s real body is still alive but in a coma so when they bring it back, they put him in stasis to heal.

Everyone is completely unaware that Leo is actually sharing a body with Caden. Leo lives inside Caden and the two are right now trying to make it work.

Because of how similar Leo and Caden look in appearance and in terms of personality somewhat, people assume that Caden is actually Leo, who is just controlling a body that has no “soul”.

Because no one thinks Caden is actually like an individual person, he sort of has a identity crisis where sometimes he believes he’s actually Leo, or he spirals about the fact if he’s actually a real person/turtle. It’s a whole thing.

SO that’s the general gist of the fic itself. Hopefully that made sense. If not, sorry, I’m terrible at explaining such complex stuff LMAO.

Now for the characters themselves. We already went over Caden above, so I’ll skip him. I’ll also just mention the main gang btw.

Leo: He’s younger in this fic. Only being 30, and this is all way before the movie timeline takes place, so he’s gonna grow as the fic goes on. So, Leo has both arms right now. He’s still the leader of the Resistance and is highly respected amongst others. Leo however, as always, deals with guilt and self-sacrificial shenanigans. And just over all kinda moody, especially with Caden. He’s pretty much an asshole for a while.

Leo is “dead”, but it’s actually the opposite and his body is in stasis to heal while his soul is in Caden. So, he lives inside Caden’s head now.

Donnie: Also 30 years old. He’s the same as his canon self I suppose. Only difference is that he had a scar on his face and some scars on his fingers due to Krang fights and inventing stuff. He’s a little overprotective right now with Caden who he believes is Leo (everyone does, much to Caden’s annoyance) so he doesn’t like it when Caden vanishes away without telling someone his whereabouts (especially if he doesn’t know).

Raph: The oldest as always, he helps train recruits in combat and is basically the tank of the Resistance. He’s more of a worrywart with Caden, but he does help him out with training. He’s the same as his canon self.

Mikey: Same as canon self. He can do mystic stuff, but he might need some help/lessons from Draxum. Mikey is kinda the whole reason Leo and Caden are in this situation. Mikey has no clue that Leo and Caden are individual people and share a body, he just thinks it’s Leo. He’s younger in this as well, so instead of that character we see in movie timeline, this Mikey has healthier long hair and looks his age. For now.
