Imagine spoiling a bands album release date for attention, then getting upset at people telling you that's not cool. Like?? Girl, you wanted to wear the clown shoes now you're acting like they don't fit? Jake would be so upset if he knew you were the person who did that, it's not true fan behavior.

I've thankfully avoided "the date" bc I dont wanna know and spoil it for myself and others, so idk. This band/tour/eventual album is very important to these people we say we like, so let's treat them and this project with respect. Personally, Mirador, I'd never do some dumb shit like that, so 🤷🏻‍♀️

In the continuing saga of A Lot of Bad Things Have Happened to Us this Fall, we had some sewer back up in our basement. Turns out that the pipe running out of our house connecting to the city pipe was misaligned. This was causing things to get stuck in the pipes and back up into our basement. Thankfully, the back up was not horribly severe, but nonetheless, the pipes needed to be repaired. 

DH decided this was a DIY kind of job. H was thrilled to have a mini excavator in our yard, and truth be told, he did most of the digging. The hole was massive, and took the afternoon to dig. Definitely not the two hour project DH predicted (I told him it would take at least two days).

After the hole was dug, jt sat until the following weekend, and then DH did repair the pipes. We have it backfilled about halfway, but hoping to get this wrapped up asap before the cold weather sets in. This week we have a lot of rain which is also not ideal.

Happy Wisdom Saga day! For the fun, I spent multiple hours creating this- Every time Epic calls back to a previous song: a very non-exhaustive list. First is what I noticed by ear and second is what Jorge has said on the topic at time of writing. The order is merely the order in which I wrote my notes. Wisdom Saga spoilers ahead!

Survive calls back to Zeus' verse in The Horse and the Infant. Suffering also calls back to this verse with the "he will chase you high and low".

Ruthlessness calls back to Full Speed Ahead with the "43 left under your command".

Mutiny, Scylla, KYFC, and Underworld all have the crew sing "Full Speed Ahead".

The way the crew sings their "oh" in Remember Them gets called back to in Different Beasts and Monster.

The way Polyphemus sings "nobody" in Remember Them mimics how Odysseus sings it when he gives him the wine.

"Let's grab the sheep and away we go" mimics the "we're off, we're off, and away we go" from Full Speed Ahead.

Remember Them plays Athena's motif along with the returning "have you forgotten the lessons I taught you?"

Remember Them features a musical version of "we're off, we're off, and away we go". Odysseus also says "I am your darkest moment" which Poseidon will call back to later.

My Goodbye does the "Just A Man" thing and calls back to the long "miiiiiind" with "goodbyyyyyye".

Storm plays Aeolus' motif.

Puppeteer opens with a tune from Full Speed Ahead.

When Eurylochus gets shut down by Odysseus in Puppeteer, he says "okay" the same way as in Luck Runs Out, accompanied by the same music. In the same vein, the way Ody says "what" to the lotus eaters' "it's treasure!" is similar to his "what" when Polyphemus decides to kill him last, accompanied by his motif.

KYFC, Suffering, and pretty much every other song with any hint of Penelope do the "Penelope~" thing and all I can think every time is "banana peels~"

When Eurylochus opens the wind bag, the crew sing Storm and Full Speed Ahead.

There Are Other Ways calls back to Puppeteer with "don't be afraid", Wouldn't You Like with "so much power", and Just A Man with "I'm just a man" and "forgive me". Penelope's theme also appears instead of the outright "banana peels~".

There is a motif that plays at the very beginning of The Horse and the Infant that plays all across the musical, including Warriors of the Mind and Underworld (and more that I didn't write down).

Underworld calls back to Full Speed Ahead and Just A Man (and the way they sing "558 men" made me think of Perimedes lol). It also has the crew sing "captain" like when they were dying in Ruthlessness (Jorge wth).

POLITES NOOOOOO 😭

Eurylochus' "forgive me" in Scylla mimics the "forgive me" from Just A Man.

Mutiny opens with the Luck Runs Out motif and has them sing the "please don't tell me you're about to do what I think you'll do" bit but reversed. Eurylochus sings about the cows and their hunger to the same tune as Zeus' verse in The Horse and the Infant/the opening of Survive.

HE'S JUST A MAN

Thunder Bringer has Odysseus beg "please don't make me do this" like in THatI and features Just A Man's "when does a cabbage become a meteor"/ Suffering's chorus.

When Telemachus says "give me a sign", Athena's motif plays. This also plays across this saga in We'll Be Fine, Love In Paradise, and God Games (except in GG it's a choir version).

Jorge said there's a sound effect for whenever Athena pulls someone into Quick Thought (I think that's what it's called). This plays when she helps Telemachus in Little Wolf.

The way she sings "apaaaaaart" in We'll Be Fine is reminiscent of the "miiiiiind" from WotM.

When Telemachus' verse begins in WBF, the Warriors of the Mind music begins playing. When he sings "you're my friend, I couldn't ask for more" he sings it similarly to "I wanna be legendary".

Ugh. Love In Paradise calls back to Remember Them, Keep Your Friends Close, Ruthlessness, Done For, No Longer You, Different Beasts, Scylla, and Mutiny. This song really turned around cause when it began, I was not a fan (can you tell why lol).

When Odysseus tries to jump off the cliff, the music from the opening of Polyphemus plays. We also get Underworld references with "all I hear are screams" and Ody's mom, as well as Open Arms and Luck Runs Out.

Have to break character here but "she's my wife." "...anyway-" made me snort so loudly.

"I'm not your man" is "I'm just a man".

Athena says "Odysseus" in God Games like how the crew does in Remember Them and Different Beasts (yknow, after the "oh, ooh oho" segments).

Thunder Bringer plays when Zeus introduces Hephaestus and of course when he murks Athena.

I never noticed before but Athena actually pulls Aphrodite into Quick Thought to ask her to reconsider and thEN ARES BREAKS IT/USES HIS OWN THING?? AND THEN ATHENA OVERPOWERS IT TO SAY HER PIECE??!! GOD GAMES IS AWESOME WHAT THE FUCK.

When Athena is "killed(?)" by Zeus, a piano version of Warriors of the Mind plays, as well as a quick "I wanna be legendary".

According to Jorge, Penelope's instrument (a viola) does not appear in Suffering but rather a mallet, as it is still the instrument of SOMEONE he cares about (Polites :(((), just not his wife.

The musical features a "Danger Motif" that appears whenever there is a threat. This can be heard when the men attack the city in The Horse and the Infant. In Ruthlessness, Poseidon's name is sung to that tune as he is a very present and very powerful danger.

Circe has a tune/kick drum combo that repeats across all three of her songs.

During Odysseus' speech in Puppeteer, a lyre is used, indicating that Hermes is listening in.

Eurylochus doesn't have an accompanying instrument of his own, however he does always have the voices of the crew to harmonize with him since "he always tries his best to protect them". Jorge wth.

When Eurylochus pulls his sword against Odysseus in Mutiny, an electric guitar is used (Odysseus' instrument) as he is trying to take Odysseus' place. JORGE. WTH.

When Odysseus tries to reason with Eurylochus as his friend in Luck Runs Out, it has the same type of progression as Open Arms, showing that Polites' belief still holds over Odysseus.

She was observing an unexpected interaction between the tall man in front of her and the girl (whom she met earlier), who - although seemed much younger than Nunnally - was not that different than her. Both were thin and pale; Nunnally being only a few centimeters taller (but she seemed not much heavier). They both had blue eyes (although the girl’s were more green in a way); and it was only a hair colour which was distinctly different. The deep blue compared to light blond, almost white in that light. As if Nunnally’s hair lost all these colours. Perhaps a stranger would even consider them (distant) family members.

The stranger did love and care about the girl (it was obvious), but i Nunnally's eyes he was doing it wrong. Protecting (or sheltering) was important, but giving some freedom to make (and learn from) mistakes was equally crucial. And Nunnally knew something about it. Most of her life she was a bird in a cage. Loved and protected, but also imprisoned.

The demon girl had only joined the blue-haired girl, because she thought the little one was lost. And needed some assistance to find her path home.  Or at least that was Nunnally's initial reasoning. But then she realized (or thought she did) that the girl cared about her being lost in the forest. So, she let the girl help her, although Nunnally didn't truly need any help. She just wanted to get away from humans before she could hurt them (on purpose or accidentally). It was not even that Nunnally didn’t like humans; they were interesting creatures, but obviously many of them found her weak and an easy prey, and wanted to take advantage on her (or perhaps even hurt her) not being aware what kind of creature she was.

“You shouldn’t talk about her as if she was not here…” – she muttered under her breath; the words were certainly directed at the red-haired man, though she pretended they were not. Nunnally had experienced too much of similar treatment (or so she assumed). And -- although it was probably rooted in a genuine care (as it always had been in her case; she believed) – it was still wrong and sometimes hurting the other person.

“It’s all right…” – Nunnally said in the louder voice – “I can find my way back. You don’t have to…worry about me.” – oh, she knew the man was not worried about her. He was clearly annoyed with Nunnally’s presence, but it sounded nicer. To say that?

“It was lovely meeting you…” – she addressed Lavina getting ready to walk away when the man apparently changed his mind. The girl seemed to getting her way with her father? Caretaker? They didn’t appear too similar to each other, but Nunnally knew better than to assume something based solely on the appearance.

“T-thank you…” – she accepted the invitation; more for the girl’s sake than for her own. Nunnally liked bad weather. She liked storm and rain. It had no real impact on her – “B-but I would still appreciate if you could…”

“Just don’t curse in my company.” – she finally stated. Simply.

Nunnally followed, smiled to Lavina, and waved her back.

“So, where are we going?” – she asked trying to catch up with the man, but it was difficult.

“Could you please…walk slower? It’s too fast for me.”

Wow that Izzy stan anon is a stupid piece of shit. Izzy fans are racist. They prioritize the thoughts and feelings of a white (cop loving) man who has shown abusive and racist tendencies. But all of that is FINE to Izzy stans who want to woobify him because his voice is funny or whatever. Izzy fans completely miss the plot because they're too busy thinking they're being persecuted. Izzy isn't the main character. He deserves everything single horrible thing that happens to him. And the Izzy stans with their deliberate misinterpretation of other characters are going to come out of s2 looking dumb and even more racist than usual.

the thing is i don’t mind Izzy ! i think he’s hilarious. he’s not my fave character and i don’t find him remotely interesting beyond comedic relief and i wouldn’t care if he was gone from the show.

but other people do love him best and that’s fine. it really is. but it’s when they start villainizing the main character who’s a poc that i have a problem with. calling ed an abuser as if izzy isn’t also a flawed character. it’s weird because it happens in multiple fandoms and it’s time to call a spade a spade. you know what i mean?

and then telling people they’re ableist and classist for not liking izzy. it’s weird the way they will jump through hoops to victimize a flawed white male character and villianize a flawed poc character and act like we’re the problem for calling them out on it. act like we’re the problem because we notice how white male characters are treated better by fandoms than poc characters. and they try to pull the “oh wow now i’m racist because i like a fictional character.” they intentionally misinterpret what we’re saying to act like we’re ridiculous for calling them racist for liking a fictional character when that is not the problem.

like the ficticional character you like but do not dismiss the real world problems fandoms have where poc characters are treated differently than white male characters. it’s exhausting. it really is.
