Dear, Authors.
Saying your book is LGBTQ+ but both main characters are cishet and the only queer characters are background or barely mentioned means that it is not LGBTQ+ and just (yet another) straight romance. The LGBTQ+ community is not here for you to gain brownie points for putting us in the background. Make us main characters or don’t write us at all.
Signed, a very fed up trans/agender queer 😘

Does anyone have any tips on making Bitmojis look more gender-neutral? I am getting a Snapchat account (I don’t want to but being a person still in school it’s pretty hard to survive without one) and the body types/faces are either really masculine or really feminine. If anyone out there has a Bitmoji that looks gender-neutral can you please share how you made it look that way?

Id love to be strictly t4t! I'd feel much safer in my identity and my partners understanding.
Except I've had better luck with my last several cis partners understanding my complicated relationship with my own gender than I have my last several trans partners. So that feeling of safety has entirely been taken away from me

chest binding psa
guys srsly be safe with binding your chest, most binders when bought new come with care instructions specific to the binder and the company but just generally make sure to be careful and if ur currently wearing one just take a moment to reflect and make sure you haven't been wearing it for over about 8 hours (give or take) take it from me, ive nearly broken my ribs while binding and it SUCKS, and while my dysphoria isn't too severe safety should come first, just be aware that binding can go wrong sometime and PLEASE BUY FROM A REPUTABLE COMPANY because if a binder isn't made right it can potentially be more dangerous than a well made binder

Seeing pads say stupid shit like "blah blah #like a girl" is so infuriating. Brother, shut the fuck up. I do NOT feel like a girl right now, I feel like a fucked up reverse vampire. Give me a cork and a sponge this shit needs to stop right now

I’m a boy despite the way I choose to present
Beautiful hair ≠ femininity
Being well groomed and clean ≠ being feminine
Looking pretty ≠ being a woman
Nice and stylised nails ≠ feminine
Crop tops ≠ ‘woman’s clothes’
Being kind ≠ being a girl
Being submissive or shy ≠ being a girl
Long lashes ≠ female trait
High or squeaky voice ≠ female voice
Light colours ≠ ‘girl colours’
Nothing is inherently feminine or girly, it’s what you choose to believe.

YOU. YOU'RE THE TRANSFEM INTERSEX RATIO PERSON. I LOVE YOU.
:o!! It's me indeed, hello!!!
I'm glad you like the headcanon, she's everything to me tbh. You can safely assume any time I talk about Ratio that this conception of her is in my mind.
ramblings under the cut (CW: vague mentions of intersexism and transmisogyny)
About her being intersex, I usually have two sets of headcanons: one where she has nCAH and the other hyperandrogenic PCOS. Part of why I have this headcanon is projection ofc; but it's also because I like the idea of Ratio in her goal to cure the disease of ignorance, she desires to destroy the false concept of the sex binary. It makes the goal very personal to her, being affected by intersexism, in addition to the altruism.
I think Ratio struggled a lot in her transition journey, because she felt like she had to give up a lot of the things she liked about her body and herself and had to conform to beauty standards she didn't like in her attempts to achieve the Ideal Woman status. I think she used to do extensive voice training, wear full beat makeup, and tried to avoid putting on muscle to give the thin and dainty vibe. Even though she likes her deep voice, a full face is a sensory nightmare for her, and trying to keep her body mass down was unhealthy for her...that's what she thought she needed to do. Her oddly British accent (odd for a character Greek and Roman inspired) is from imitating women she thought of as elegant and refined. She used to wear pumps in her classroom and offices even though she hated how they hurt her feet, because that's what other women wear to work.
And I imagine the Ratio we have in the present is one who is secure in her gender identity that she does not feel the need to overperform femininity. She knows that she does need to be accepted by others to know her own worth. Her body is toned and built, she speaks with a deep voice, wears clothes that are comfortable for her (cutouts for ventilation and a nice pair of sandals), puts on red eyeliner and calls it a look. And you can tell she loves it because of all those statues lmao.

Reminder that if you're a binary trans person you still have privilege from being part of the gender binary.
Nonbinary people still have unique struggles that binary don't experience. We should not be an afterthought in trans activism. We are not trans+ or trans lite.
I've seen the nonbinary community get ignored especially those of us who can't be categorized as "a type of trans man" or "a type of trans women". Please, we deserve respect and attention, and not to be treated as an afterthought, or a side story in the narrative of binary trans people's rights.
Please reblog this. Especially if you're a binary person who wants to show that you care about us.
