sick and tired (but never of you)
Êšâ™ĄÉž synopsis how the aot men take care of you when you're sick Êšâ™ĄÉž wc 663 Êšâ™ĄÉž feat. e. jaeger, l. ackerman a. arlert, j. kirstein, r. braun, p. galliard
Tumblr media
Êšâ™ĄÉž eren jaeger ă‚šăƒŹăƒłăƒ»ă‚€ă‚§ăƒŒă‚ŹăƒŒ
tries so hard to take care of you, he really does. but one thing’s for sure - he can’t cook for shit and has absolutely no idea how to take care of another human being (since he rarely gets sick himself)
googles your symptoms, inadvertently stressing you out
“you coughed, like, three times in a row
i think you might have pneumonia”
makes sure you hydrate well, and is literally at your beck and call the whole time, tending to your every need to make sure you get well as soon as possible
he hates seeing you in pain, after all
Tumblr media
Êšâ™ĄÉž levi ackerman ăƒȘăƒŽă‚Ąă‚€ăƒ»ă‚ąăƒƒă‚«ăƒŒăƒžăƒł
honestly? the best possible caretaker you could ask for
first thing he does is put on a mask and disinfect every surface you might have come into contact with. (if he owned a hazmat suit, he would wear it.)
makes you herbal teas or warm broth and gives you your meds regularly on the dot like a strict nurse
he’s not one to express his love for you verbally, but you’ll wake up to your favourite book on the nightstand, or your favourite meal on the dining table as you stumble out of your bedroom in a daze, still wrapped in your warm blanket
"better not complain about how you can't taste anything. would you rather have hypertension?"
Tumblr media
Êšâ™ĄÉž jean kirstein ă‚žăƒŁăƒłăƒ»ă‚ăƒ«ă‚·ăƒ„ă‚żă‚€ăƒł
complains a lot in the beginning (“i told you it was going to be cold out, and you still insisted you didn’t need a jacket! when are you going to learn?”) of course he says this while tucking you in and tenderly brushing your hair out of your face
actually enjoys taking care of you and spoils you rotten - hot, comforting meals, massages, and your favourite movies that he normally refuses to watch, but he’ll make an exception this time
tries to be cool about it but his heart melts when you smile up at him and say thank you in that hoarse but still sweet voice of yours (what a big softie
)
"it's insane how pretty you look even when you're sick"
Tumblr media
Êšâ™ĄÉž armin arlert ă‚ąăƒ«ăƒŸăƒłăƒ»ă‚ąăƒ«ăƒŹăƒ«ăƒˆ
is an absolute administrative machine. he wakes up at the crack of dawn to switch off all your morning alarms, and calls in sick on your behalf.
when you wake up (around noon), he’s sitting by your bedside reading a book, whispering a gentle “good morning” to you
not the best at cooking, but he makes you soup and frankly, the love he put into it is more than enough to make you feel better instantly
takes your temperature when you’re asleep, making sure not to wake you
“right now, you need rest. don’t worry, love, i’ve got everything covered.”
Tumblr media
Êšâ™ĄÉž reiner braun ăƒ©ă‚€ăƒŠăƒŒăƒ»ăƒ–ăƒ©ă‚Šăƒł
this man runs hot all the time, so you know his cuddles are the absolute best. you wake up to a pair of strong arms around you, enveloping you in a comforting warmth
carries you everywhere without question (putting his muscles to good use)
moves all his work to your room, not letting you out of his sight for even a second - that’s how precious you are to him
gives death stares to the neighbours’ kids when they make too much noise playing in the yard
“you’ll get sick too if you stay here like this!”   “don’ care
jus’ wanna be here with you”
Tumblr media
Êšâ™ĄÉž porco galliard ăƒăƒ«ă‚łăƒ»ă‚ŹăƒȘă‚ąăƒŒăƒ‰
panics when you cough too hard, though he tries to hide it. he sits at the foot of your bed scrolling on his phone while glancing at you every 30 seconds
grumbles about you getting germs on him but dutifully stays by your side the whole time anyway
calls pieck for some much-needed advice (like eren, he does not know how to take care of a whole other person)
if you say thank you or show appreciation in any way or form, he gets all flustered immediately
“yeah, yeah, just don’t die or whatever.”

GAMER INTOLERANCE.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⌗ synopsis: you’re a person with IGD (Internet Gaming Disorder), so how does your boyfriend deal with it?
⌗ pairing: mha men x reader
⌗ side note: the loneliness is real I’m gonna be honest—
Tumblr media
𐔌.  IZUKU MIDORIYA:
â–č keeps detailed notes about your gaming habits in hero analysis notebook #47 (yes he made a whole notebook just for understanding you better) and accidentally discovers the correlation between your longest gaming sessions and when you're avoiding real-world stress
â–č definitely doesn't stay up until 3am researching igd and healthy coping mechanisms but somehow always has perfectly timed snack deliveries and gentle check-ins during your marathon sessions
â–č creates the most elaborate care packages with color-coordinated sticky notes reminding you about hydration, eye breaks, and "you're doing amazing but maybe stretch?" written in his chaotic handwriting
â–č gets genuinely excited about your achievements and keeps a list of all your high scores, favorite games, and that one boss fight you've been stuck on for three weeks (offers to help research strategies even though he's terrible at gaming)
â–č worry-mumbles about your sleep schedule but learns your game's soundtrack so he can tell how intense your session is getting just by the music bleeding through your headphones
â–č develops an entire system of gentle interventions disguised as coincidences: "oh wow, i just happened to make too much katsudon, and the sunset looks really pretty from the balcony right now, want to see?"
𐔌.  KATSUKI BAKUGOU:
â–č storms into your gaming space like "oi, when's the last time you ate something that wasn't energy drinks and regret?" but there's always a perfectly prepared meal in his hands that he "accidentally" made too much of
â–č absolutely does not research your games to understand what you're going through but somehow always knows exactly when you're about to rage quit and appears with aggressive support: "that boss is being a little bitch, but you're not gonna let some pixels make you their bitch, right?"
â–č installs parental controls on your setup (without asking) but the restrictions are weirdly thoughtful - blocks during meal times he's cooking and creates mandatory "touch grass" periods that coincide with his training schedule
â–č learns gaming terminology just to trash talk your opponents more effectively: "that scrub is camping like a coward, show them what a real gamer looks like!"
â–č forces you into "training montages" where he makes you do push-ups between deaths ("if you're gonna sit on your ass for 12 hours, at least make it a strong ass")
â–č secretly learns to play your favorite co-op games because "someone has to carry you through this shit" but gets embarrassingly competitive about your team rankings
𐔌.  SHOTO TODOROKI:
â–č approaches your gaming habits with the analytical precision of someone who's never experienced a hobby before: takes notes, asks incredibly direct questions like "do you game more when you're avoiding your father?"
â–č creates detailed spreadsheets tracking your gaming hours vs. mood vs. sleep quality because "data helps me understand how to support you better" (doesn't realize how intense this sounds)
â–č his rich boy solutions are accidentally perfect sets up the most ergonomic gaming space known to mankind with temperature control, blue light filtering, and a mini-fridge stocked with actual nutritious snacks
ïżœïżœïżœÂ sits quietly nearby during your sessions working on his own stuff, becoming a comforting presence who somehow always knows when you need emotional support without you saying anything
â–č learns to make your comfort foods from scratch because "store-bought isn't good enough for someone i care about" and delivers them with zero fanfare
â–č accidentally becomes your guild's favorite person because he remembers everyone's schedules and sends polite reminders about raid times and event deadlines
𐔌.  EIJIRO KIRISHIMA:
â–č becomes your personal hype man who genuinely celebrates every single achievement: "bro, you just got that headshot! that was so manly!" *aggressively supportive arm gestures*
â–č definitely doesn't panic-research igd at 2am but starts leaving little encouraging notes around your setup: "remember you're more than your rank!" and "hydration is manly!"
â–č learns your game just enough to understand when you're having a rough session and swoops in with the most genuine pep talks: "hey, bad games don't make you a bad person, you know?"
â–č creates "gym buddy but for life balance" energy - suggests you both work on your respective challenges together (his self-doubt, your gaming habits) with matching goal charts and reward systems
â–č masters the art of the perfect gaming break: warm hugs, protein smoothies, and stories about his day that are just interesting enough to ground you without being demanding
â–č somehow makes every gaming achievement feel like a shared victory while also making every break feel like quality time instead of an interruption
𐔌.  DENKI KAMINARI:
â–č initially thinks dating a gamer will be awesome until he realizes you're way more hardcore than his casual mobile gaming and gets lowkey intimidated by your setup
â–č becomes the master of chaotic interventions: unplugs your router "by accident," challenges you to stupid tiktok dances, or starts playing ridiculously loud music until you're forced to acknowledge his existence
â–č absolutely enables your habits sometimes brings you energy drinks and snacks but draws the line at letting you skip meals: "babe, you can't sustain this lifestyle on doritos and spite"
â–č creates elaborate schemes to make irl activities more appealing than gaming: "what if we went to the arcade? it's like gaming but with more lights and you can see my devastatingly handsome face"
â–č learns to recognize your different types of gaming moods and adapts accordingly - respects your serious competitive sessions but crashes your casual farming sim time with commentary and jokes
â–č somehow becomes friends with your online gaming buddies and creates a support network that bridges your digital and real relationships
𐔌.  TOMURA SHIGARAKI:
â–č completely understands the appeal of escaping into digital worlds and doesn't judge your habits because he's been there, but gets weirdly possessive when games take priority over him
â–č creates a bizarre competitive dynamic where he tries to out-game you, leading to couples gaming sessions that last 20+ hours and probably aren't healthy for either of you
â–č oddly supportive in his own twisted way: "the real world is garbage anyway, at least you're good at something" (this is his version of encouragement)
â–č enables your worst habits while simultaneously calling you out: stocks your space with junk food and energy drinks while muttering about how you're "rotting away like society"
â–č becomes eerily invested in your gaming drama and holds genuine grudges against players who've wronged you: "give me their usernames, i'll make them regret existing"
â–č his room setup makes yours look casual and he creates the ultimate gaming cave where you both can ignore the outside world, which is either deeply romantic or deeply concerning depending on perspective
𐔌.  DABI (TOUYA TODOROKI):
â–č approaches your gaming addiction with his signature blend of dark humor and genuine concern disguised as indifference: "nice to see you're as committed to avoiding reality as i am"
â–č secretly worried because he recognizes destructive coping mechanisms but expresses concern through sarcasm: "wow, 16 hours straight, that's almost as impressive as my daddy issues"
â–č becomes surprisingly attentive to your physical health in subtle ways - adjusts room temperature without being asked, replaces your desk chair with something that won't destroy your back, casually mentions eye strain
â–č uses his insomnia to keep weird parallel schedules with your gaming marathons, becoming a comforting presence who's just... there when you need him at 4am
â–č learns your games well enough to have intelligent conversations about them, but always with his trademark cynicism: "so you're telling me you spent six hours optimizing a virtual farm while eating cereal for dinner?"
â–č creates moments of genuine connection by sharing his own escapism strategies and bonding over the appeal of worlds where you have control
𐔌.  SPINNER (SHUICHI IGUCHI):
â–č actually the most qualified to understand your situation as a former shut-in gamer himself, approaches your relationship with genuine empathy and zero judgment
â–č shares his own experiences with gaming addiction and social withdrawal without making it about him: "i get it, sometimes the digital world feels safer, but isolation isn't actually protection"
â–č creates the perfect balance of gaming together vs. encouraging other activities - suggests co-op games that build teamwork, then translates those skills into real-world adventures
â–č helps you recognize the difference between gaming as hobby vs. gaming as avoidance with gentle questions: "are we playing this because it's fun or because tuesday sucked?"
â–č his lizard brain finds your intense focus oddly attractive but knows when to interrupt with perfectly timed reality checks disguised as snack breaks and conversation
â–č becomes your accountability partner who actually understands the struggle - celebrates your healthy choices without making you feel broken for needing support

One Direction - Health Scare
Tumblr media
Summary: When the workload leads to a medical emergency, the boys are there to take care of you.
Word Count: 941
CW: seizure, hospitals
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Being in One Direction is a dream come true.
It’s also the hardest thing you’ve ever done in your life. The work is incredibly fun, but also extremely grueling. You have expectations on you for every waking minute. There’s hardly time for a break or rest.
When you do sleep, it’s often on a bus, and never quite as restful as you hope.
Halfway through the current tour, you begin to really feel the exhaustion. Not only are you and the boys doing a show nearly every day, but you’re also recording the next album. On the rare occasions when you have a night in a hotel, you’re often woken up to re-record something.
You can tell you’re not the only one who is getting run down, but you also feel like the boys are handling it better than you are.
So you keep quiet, not wanting to complain to them when they all have their own stuff going on as well.
What you don’t know is how they’ve noticed how drained you are, and have talked amongst them about it. They’re worried, but they have no clue how to help. So they try to take care of you in subtle ways.
Liam is always making sure you have water or some sort of power drink, reminding you how important it is to stay hydrated.
Niall gets you food any time he grabs some for himself. He’d noticed you would skip meals on occasion and decided he couldn’t allow that on his watch.
Zayn asks you to meditate with him, saying that he does better with a partner. You don’t realize that he often does this when you’re most stressed, and he really wants to get you to take a minute to breathe.
Louis gets into shenanigans, making you laugh and reminding you that not everything needs to be serious all the time.
Harry asks you to hang on the couch with him on the rare times you get breaks. He’ll wrap an arm around you and tell a story. Sometimes you sit and listen, sometimes you take a power nap. Either way he’s happy to help you get some rest whenever possible.
But all of that isn’t enough. There’s something going on in your body that no one can see. You start to get dizzy, and these spells become more frequent.
Each of the boys have caught you more than once at this point, always helping you sit down to make sure you don’t get hurt. Their worry heightens every time this happens.
And then things get worse.
It’s early morning, and you had yet another fitful night of sleep on the bus. You head to the kitchen to make a cup of tea, and find Harry and Liam already there. They wish you a good morning, and you go to say the same, but find yourself unable to form words. That’s when your world goes dark.
Harry rushes to break your fall, and notices this isn’t like the other dizzy spells. Before he gets you safely to the ground you begin to shake in his arms.
“Oh my god,” Liam says. “She’s having a seizure. Get her on her side, quickly!” The two of them move you, cushioning your head and making sure there’s nothing nearby you can hit as you continue to have convulsions.
The other three boys rush into the kitchen, having heard Liam shouting.
“What the hell is going on?” Louis asks.
Liam is quick to explain, saying, “She’s having a seizure. Louis, call an ambulance, Niall call management and tell them what’s going on. Zayn get the driver to pull over.” They all do as they’re told while Harry continues to support you. After nearly two minutes, the seizing stops, but you’re still quite out of it.
You don’t fully come to for a while, and by that point you’re in the hospital, Harry by your side and security standing by the door.
“Hey there,” Harry says. “How are you feeling?”
“Uhm, okay I think?” you reply. “What happened?”
“You had a seizure. Scared the shit out of us,” he answers with a chuckle, letting you know he’s not actually mad.
“Sorry about that.”
“Hey, don’t apologize. We just want to figure out what’s going on with you and help you get better, okay?”
Before you can answer, a doctor walks in. She introduces herself and asks you a bunch of questions. When she asks if you know where you are you reply, “Unfair question, I never know where I am.” Your cheeky reply let’s Harry know you’re feeling better, and you share a smile at the inside joke.
After a full workup you’re discharged with orders to see a neurologist. The other boys are waiting, somewhat impatiently, for you to get back to them. You’re informed that the upcoming week of shows have been postponed so you can rest, and you know that the boys fought hard to make that happen.
You spend the week in a hotel, and though you each have your own room, everyone piles into yours. They watch you for any signs that you’re about to have another seizure, and Liam goes with you to your neurologist appointment in order to fill the doctor in on everything that happened.
You don’t have answers yet, but you find that you’re not worried. Not when you have the biggest support team there to take care of you. And though your job is hard, and at times overwhelming, you wouldn’t trade it for the world. Not when it led you to find the people who will be there for you, no matter what.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jungkook Imagine: Taking Care of Him When He Gets Sick From Playing with Bam in the Rain
Tumblr media
a/n: i think i might have accidentally deleted the actual request for this when i was cleaning out my ask box, but i know for a FACT it was requested đŸ˜€ it’s been on on my to do list for a while now, and i miss him sm rn, so here it is :)
TW: sick!jungkook, it’s just a cold but he’s kinda whiny, living together, mentions of food
—————
“Jeon Jungkook, you get back here right now!” you screeched from the back porch steps. It was pouring down rain and chilly, but you were safely tucked under an awning with one of your boyfriend’s sweatshirts on.
“Don’t worry, honey!” he yelled back, chasing his pet doberman all around the backyard. “Bam loves the rain!”
“It’s not Bam I’m worried about!” you retorted. “You’re not wearing a coat or hat, and you’re gonna get sick!”
“I’m not going to get sick!” he argued, putting his hands on his hips sassily. “Don’t worry about me! Just go back inside, I’ll be there in a bit. I just want to make sure Bam gets some exercise in.”
You rolled your eyes and turned back around to walk into your shared apartment. Songie and Paengie, your other two greyhounds, cocked their heads at you as you entered the living room.
“Kids, your daddy is an idiot.” you sighed, petting their heads.
—————
“Ugghhhh
.” you heard your boyfriend moan from his bedroom.
You laughed to yourself as you finished preparing his soup. Oh how you loved being right.
Picking up the bowl and a big glass of water, you made your way down the hall to where he laid in his bed, bundled up in a million blankets.
“There’s my beautiful nurse
” he beamed with a crooked smile when he looked up and saw you. All three dogs perked up from their places on the bed, looking at you with wide eyes.
You gave him a warm smile and sat down on the bed next to him. “I made you some chicken noodle soup. And here’s some water, you’ll need to stay hydrated.”
“You’re the best, baby.” he pouted affectionately, sitting up to take the bowl from you. He winced as he did so. “Ah, it hurts to move
”
“Your muscles are just weaker because your body’s trying to fight off the infection.” you explained with a small smile.
“Is that why I’ve been so tired?” he asked, eyes sparkling innocently. You would think he’d never been sick before.
You nodded in confirmation. “You’ll need to get lots of rest to get better.”
He blew on a spoonful of the soup, then ate it slowly. His eyes squinted shut at the warmth and comfort of the meal. “This is so good. Literally the best thing you’ve ever cooked for me.”
You scoffed dramatically. “Ouch, thanks darling.” you grumbled sarcastically.
“No, I didn’t mean it like that!” he pleaded, reaching for your hand. “I just meant that it’s really touching that you’d take the time to make me soup while I’m sick!”
“I know, baby.” you shushed him, brushing some of his hair back. “I was just teasing.”
He breathed a sigh of relief, going back to his soup. “That isn’t a very nice thing to do to a sick person.”
“Well, if you had listened to your partner, you wouldn’t be sick right now.” you quipped back, a satisfied smirk on your face.
“Yeah, you’re right
” he sighed in defeat. “I definitely learned my lesson.”
You grinned triumphantly. “Good boy. Have you been feeling any better?”
“Not really. My throat still hurts and my nose is runny.” he complained. “But having you take care of me makes me feel a bit better.”
You smiled, squeezing his hand. “It’s no trouble. I’m not heartless after all. Hearing you admit I was right is reward enough.”
He chuckled at your cheekiness. “If I wasn’t so sick right now, I’d kiss you.”
“Awh
” you pouted, rubbing his thigh comfortingly. “When you’re better you can give me the biggest kiss in the world.”
“That’s all the motivation I need.” he grinned hopefully.
“Alright then, finish your soup and water and go straight back to bed.” you instructed, ruffling his hair a bit before you stood up to leave. “Let me know if you need anything.”
“Yes, nurse.” he replied, giving you a theatrical salute.
You chuckled, then leaned forward to give him a quick kiss on the forehead.
“I love you, Y/N.” he whimpered as you opened the door.
You turned around momentarily to smile at him. “I love you too, baby. I hope you feel better soon.”

One Piece Characters w/ an S/O who celebrates Ramadan
Characters: Luffy, Sanji, Crocodile, Robin
Rating: SFW
Notes: Muslim!GN!Reader. So yeah, obvy talking about religious beliefs and practices- if those make you uncomfortable please feel free to skip <3
A/n: this is for me and the three other Muslim OP fans here just vibing 😂 cultural notes at the bottom in case you didn't know/just curious about some of the terms here.
Luffy
Absolutely does not get it, I think he has a heart attack hearing the words “no food or water” and does not listen to anything else after.
“WHY CANT WE EAAAAT??? WHAT????”
Blows his mind you would do this
he’s trying his best, poor guy <3
I GOTTA STRESS HE IS TRYING- HE WANTS TO DO THIS WITH YOU
But you know, he’s Luffy, so that means after an hour or two he gives up and just raids the kitchen.
Task failed but you know he’ll always stay up late for iftar and wake up early for suhur.
Sanji
He at first thought you were trying to- god forbid- starve yourself or diet and nearly screamed.
When you explain the reasoning, he’s touched and wants to support you! So that means he’s absolutely doing everything he can to make sure you’re hydrated and getting all the nutrients you can get whenever you can.
He makes you a completely separate dish from the others while you’re working or resting (so your food is fresh and ready when you break your fast!).
Self-indulgent thought he’s so so so on top of things when it comes to your meals in general, he will never put wine or meat in your meals, and he makes to sure clean the area and use separate pans for when he cooks your meals. Absolutely refuses to give you anything that goes against your beliefs (I need him in my life).
Please, he’s buying you dates and getting up with you to make sure you’re drinking plenty of water and eating right. Sleep schedule be damned, he’s not messing around with your health!!!!
Crocodile
Now, he’s one of the few who actually knows what Ramadan is- he’s made Alabasta his “home” for a while and has participated in many celebrations or events to keep up appearances.
He kinda just humors you at first like “yeah, yeah, go be spiritual or whatever” and chuckles at you with that sexy voice of his.
But he sees how dedicated you are, maybe sees you reading or praying and okay
his heart kinda melts. He’s never really believed in such things, not finding it useful for him, but seeing you just kinda makes him curious.
Easily can fast alongside you, he just doesn’t make a big deal of it and insists that it’s simply due to him ‘not feeling hungry’ or ‘finding it boring to eat alone’ (sure, sure you big tsun).
Makes sure your chefs are giving you only the best and freshest foods possible- he’s especially harsh about the food when it comes to Ramadan.
I’m trying so hard not to inject my MENA!Croc addled brain into this piece so so hard I AM TRYING OKAY GUYS
But can you imagine him going to the mosque with you or listening to you discuss or read the Quran and he’s just playing it cool but his eyes are so drawn to you and he wonders if you’re an angel and that he really, really does not deserve someone like you because he’s done so many bad things and wheeeeeeze-
Robin
She’s an elegant and refined woman, one who will 100% want to be involved in your traditions.
She finds your beliefs fascinating and takes it upon herself to join you in your Ramadan.
It took her a bit of getting used to, but after a few days, it quickly grew on her.
Robin likes having tea with you during suhur, alongside a few fresh fruits Sanji had gotten. Light meals are best for her and she prefers to enjoy your company and take it easy before the dawn.
She likes to keep track of the days and times of when you two begin and break your fasts- she’ll make sure to keep note of the Shawwal moon so you two (and the rest of the crew) can celebrate the Eid together!
Since it’s a time of reflection, Robin decides to sit quietly and talk about her feelings and experiences with you. She did have some reservations and guilt that she was too “demonic” to celebrate this with you, but through your encouragement, she felt better and continued it alongside you.
Oh, she loves getting the henna done, too. She makes sure to have lots of flowers on her arms and is in love with the patterns.
Cultural Notes:
Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar, which is based on the lunar cycle- hence why you’ll often see debates on when Ramadan starts/ends or why it begins about a week or two earlier than before, since the lunar calendar is shorter than the solar calendar (or Gregorian, the one we normally use).
Muslims fast for a month from dawn until sunset (there are restrictions of course) so no water or food from that time.
Sahur/Suhur/Suhoor: the meal you eat before the dawn comes.
Iftar: the meal you eat to break your fast at sunset.
Shawwal is the 10th month of the Islamic calendar, so Ramadan ends when you see the Shawwal moon that starts a new month.
Eid: the big celebration that marks the end of Ramadan. Usually you go do a special prayer or have a big gathering with your family and enjoy yourselves.

Slender/Ej/Jeff/Ben/Lj (or anyone for that matter but separate) with a reader who has POTS (lots of fainting, can’t stand the heat, needs way more water than anyone else, way more salt & electrolytes than anyone should be able to handle) and the first time they show bad symptoms/flare up/pass out
Cause I have yet to see one and I NEED to see how they’d react
And I love your blurbs and stories! <3
You said I could pick who I wanted when I asked, so I just went with the first three <3 I also hope I did a good job on this for you! :) This is written in the assumption that you hadn't mentioned your POTS to them yet
EJ:
EJ is, quite thankfully, a doctor and medical professional in the mansion, so the moment you start swaying before you pass out he already has you in his arms. He'll gently but quickly take you down to the medical area and rest you on one of the beds, he's already jumping into taking your vitals, but he mostly waits until you wake up before going into any treatment. When you do wake up, he's very gentle with you, calmly asking what might have caused it, and when you tell him you have POTS, he thankfully does indeed know what that means for you. If you seem dehydrated he will ask if you want him to give you an IV, if you say yes he does so quite efficiently, if not, he runs and gets you a bottle of water instead and makes sure you slowly but frequently drink from it. Outwardly he's very calm, monitoring you and making sure you take it easy, looking for any signs you might faint again, but inwardly he is quite panicky, and he doesn't want you to get hurt and/or push yourself too hard. In the next few days especially, he's going to be your shadow, following you around and making sure you're hydrating and taking it easy. As a doctor, he takes your health very seriously, and he'll make sure you know that the moment you start showing symptoms you can call him and he'll be rushing over to you immediately to help you out. Your fainting is his biggest concern because while he was there to catch you that time, he doesn't want to risk you falling and possibly injuring yourself. He thankfully does know how to help you out when you are having flare ups, so you're always in good hands, but as your partner, he just wants you to be safe and cared for, so please rely on him, even if you think you might annoy him (impossible to actually do) because he wants to be there to support you however he can.
Slender:
Slender, with his strong observant nature, can sense that something is going on with you before it happens. He picks up on your growing fatigue and distractedness before you escalate to the point of fainting, and while he doesn't know exactly why you seem to be having escalating symptoms, he'll probably suggest you have one of the doctors in the mansion check you out. When you tell him it's because you have POTS, and you've just been flaring up, he feels his concern growing. While he's at least heard of POTS, he doesn't know all the fine details, and he will still definitely have either EJ or Smiley look over you to make sure you'll be alright through your flare up, and he'll have both you and whoever checks up on you thoroughly educate him on your symptoms and how he can help you. He may not be a doctor, but the advantage that he has is that with his mind reading abilities, he can sense when you aren't feeling well, and he absolutely uses that to his advantage. It's almost a little comedic, how you might think to yourself that you're beginning to feel overheated so suddenly, or maybe you're feeling particularly dizzy, and then BAM he's teleporting there and asking you if anything is wrong and if he can help you. The other good advantage he has is that he's an excellent chef, and so he always cooks you meals that have plenty of nutrients in them to help you stay balanced. I think since he has two doctors working for him if you ever start having a really bad flare up his default will be for you to go see them and get any assistance they can give you because while he is incredibly helpful on his own, he wants someone more practiced and generally knowledgable to be able to help you out. He loves you so, so dearly, and he just wants the best care he can possibly give you as your partner, and he's always keeping an eye on you to make sure you're doing okay.
Jeff:
Jeff is similar to Slender in the sense that he notices lately something has been off about you, but he can't really gauge how big of a deal it is until it's already too late. A sudden spring heatwave had been hitting, and ever the outdoorsy guy Jeff had invited you to go out with him. He'd noticed you'd been feeling a bit out of it lately, and he was hoping that some fresh air might be beneficial to you, but he didn't realize how sensitive to the oncoming heat you might be. Already feeling faint, the heat only made it worse, and you're quite lucky the two of you had been sitting down already, your head planting itself on his lap as you faint. Internally, he's screaming at the top of his lungs in fear, externally he's trying to remain calm so he doesn't make anything worse. He'll probably call EJ immediately, and with his advice he gently brings you to him so he can look over you. When you finally wake up and explain you have POTS, I'm just picturing EJ lecturing Jeff on taking you out in such hot temperatures when you'd already been displaying worsening symptoms, but you know Jeff was just trying to do something good and reassure them that it's fine. Jeff, from that moment on, commits himself to being your protector and looking out for you. He's always making sure you're drinking as many fluids as you can (and I see him being like "Oh hey I got this yummy drink, you wanna try it?" as a way to get you to drink more whenever he sees you), and he makes sure you're eating well and getting plenty of rest. He volunteers to do any work you need to do when you're flaring up, and he even enters overprotective carrying mode and basically piggybacks you wherever you need to go whenever you're feeling faint or particularly weak. If you ever wanna go outside again for fresh air, he defaultly carries you for that too and always makes sure it's not hot or too sunny out now. He's your big scary guard dog that protects you and keeps you safe in any way that he can.

The Heart of a Bene Gesserit-Part Three//Paul Atreides
Tumblr media
Warnings: cursing, spice slavery, prostitution innuendo
You didn't really want to see Paul. You still felt so raw after last night. It wasn't even his fault; it was your feelings that got hurt when you realized that you'd never have a real chance with Paul. He’d never see you in a romantic light.
Once you got ready for the day, you decided to go out for a walk around the grounds, to clear your head and get some air. You didn’t opt for a still suit, as you didn’t plan on traveling far or long.
The morning was warm and bright, but not uncomfortably so, as it was still early in the day. The sun was not yet too high. You had made your way around to the spice silo crates where some workers were emptying the crops. You watched the grouping of men, and something caught your eye. The closer you looked, you noticed that it was a bald head. Harkonnen.
It had to be a Harkonnen. No one on Arrakis had such pale, smooth skin like that. You saw the man's eyes and you knew exactly who it was. A near final Kwizatz Haderach: Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen. Why was he a slave working for Paul?
"Miss," a servant approached you, and you turned to them.
"Yes?"
"You really should not be out in the sun this time of day."
You looked over at the silos, nodding toward the working men, "It is still early. And besides, the slaves are out here."
"As a special companion of the Emperor, he would wish that you'd stay safely indoors." the servant pointed out, trying to urge you back into the House.
"I think the Emperor should put his worries elsewhere."
"Very well, ma'am. But if you wish to stay out longer, I'd recommend changing into a stillsuit, to keep your body cool and hydrated." the servant gave you a polite nod, then left.
You looked on, remembering your singular visit to Giedi Prime years ago, seeing Feyd-Rautha dominate his opponents in the Harkonnen Arena. The Bene Gesserit found him to be quite impressive, not only in his strength and fighting skills, but also in his superior intelligence. Feyd was almost everything that Paul was. A very valuable and useful tool in human form. Why was he now reduced to a simple slave?
......
After the midday meal, you approached a rather tired looking Paul. You said his name as you walked up to him. You needed to ask him about Feyd. Paul looked at you, and his tired eyes faded into a brighter expression that lit up his handsome face. You tried to not think too much about the effect you had had on him. You felt no need to read into it.
"I want to ask you about one of the slave workers you have in your possession, my lord." you said.
Paul frowned at you, as if he could never guess the things you were about to say, "Very well. Let us retire to the council room to talk about this.”
He led the way to the meeting room in which you had spent some time with him and his men, listening to them invent work for themselves. Really, you thought he needed more women on his council, to actually help resolve issues of the Imperium.
"Sit down, y/n. What would you like to know about the slaves?" he asked, sitting down and gesturing for you to do the same next to him at the table.
"Well, I became intrigued by one of them in particular. And I'm not going to play around about this, Paul. Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen is alive and he is among your slaves, isn't he?"
Paul sat back in his seat, a strange quiver of a smile on his mouth, "Nothing gets passed you Bene Gesserit, does it?"
You gave him a serious look.
He let out a small sigh, "Yes, Feyd-Rautha is where any lasting Harkonnen should be."
"He had nothing to do with what happened to your father."
"But he is a Harkonnen! He deserves to be where he is. He's lucky he's not dead and buried in the sand with the Baron."
You scoffed, "Feyd is a psychopath, that is true. But he is far too valuable a human being to just be your slave."
“He is not just my slave. He works for the Empire, you yourself expressed that you only want what is best for the Empire.”
“Yes, but Feyd deserves a more honorable position. He’s an intelligent man, a good leader. He was able to bring spice production back to full capacity after his idiot brother fumbled the job. You could use someone like Feyd-Rautha in your corner. Hell, he should be on your council, advising you, helping you.”
“I would never take advice from a man whose family had my father killed! He would have never attained control of Arrakis if it weren’t for me.” Paul shouted, his voice littered with an angry growl.
You sat still in your chair, gripping the armrest, you knew he was right. Rabban could not stand up to Muad’Dib and the Fremen, nonetheless, this issue was not about Rabban, but his younger brother. “Someone of Feyd-Rautha’s superior breeding deserves to have a more productive job.”
“Are you suggesting spice production is unimportant? It is only the most vital substance in the universe, without it, you wouldn’t have been able to come to Arrakis, y/n.”
You shook your head, becoming aggravated with him and his condescending tone, “Do not patronize me, Paul Atreides. You know what I mean. You should use Feyd-Rautha to your advantage, that is all I am saying. Think about it.”
“Perhaps you would like to use him to your advantage.”
Now you were mad, “Whatever do you mean?”
“You were sent here to secure the Kwizatz Haderach bloodline. But you’ve been unsuccessful thus far, so why not try out a runner up: my cousin, the final Harkonnen.”
You sighed, your anger subsided and you were left with the disappointment that he still had no trust in you. “That is not my intention. You should know by now that I am here for you, I am trying to fulfill my duties as your councilwoman.”
Paul raised his brows, rested his elbow on the armrest of his chair, held his chin in palm and looked at you in the eyes, “Oh? So you’ve decided to take my job offer? You’ll stay here, on Arrakis?”
“I hope to. As long as you stop being an ass.” You stood up, pushed your chair back under the table. “Good day, my lord.” you said, turning on your feet and exiting the council room, without bowing before the Emperor.

.
Paul sat for a moment more after y/n left, then he called a servant to retrieve Gurney Halleck.
“Gurney.” he greeted his old master, who now served as one of his right hand men.
“My lord.” Gurney answered, nodding.
“Appoint one of the servants to keep a close watch on y/n. I’d like to know what she is doing, and whom she may be speaking to.”

That evening, after dinner was over and the sun was set, you quietly made your way to the slave quarters. You were met with the slave master, who looked you up and down, like he couldn’t place you.
“Haven’t seen you down in these parts, woman.” he said, holding his strong stance.
“My name is y/n, friend and councilwoman of Muad’Dib. I’ve come to ask if I can speak with one of the slaves here.” you kept your poise and confidence in check. I must not fear.
The tall man before you gave a simple nod, “Hmm. Do you know the slave’s name?”
“Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen.”
You were then led to a sort of outside recreational area for the prisoners. There were tables and chairs under a roof to provide some shade.
“Wait here. And don’t worry, he’ll like the looks you. He won’t have any desire to kill you.” the slave master said, giving you a small dose of assurance.
But you were Bene Gesserit, you did not need to be assured. You could take care of yourself. It did not matter how intimidating or dangerous an opponent may be, you could always come out on top with the proper training.
After only a couple of minutes, you heard his voice first: hoarse in his throat, but with chilling low tones. “A visitor, for little ol’ me?”
You looked straight ahead, seeing his tall, muscular figure making its way toward you. He was just as you remembered, his face and head free of hair, but still as strikingly handsome as his Atreides cousin.
“Well, you are beautiful. You’d be a nice gift, but there’s no way you are a working woman. Also, no sign of the Ibad blue eyes, so you’re not the Atreides’ Fremen woman.” Feyd was speaking as he looked you over, getting his senses about you.
You felt a slight thorn in your side as he insinuated that you could be Chani.
He then looked in your eyes, squinting, “You’re Bene Gesserit?”
“You are sharp, Feyd-Rautha.” you replied.
He smirked, but did not show his black teeth. He gazed at you as if he wanted to devour you, then and there. “Hm. Now, why were you looking for me, my darling?"

i wanna be a hayakawa child too pls can u write gn reader living with aki denji and power (mainly focusing on aki being a dad cuz it's funny to me LMAOO) and if you feel like it can the reader be a bit younger than denji and power maybe 14-15? just some random kid they picked off the streets and who aspires to be a devil hunter like aki
PART OF THE FAMILY
PAIRS: p!denji hayakawa x reader ,, p!power hayakawa x reader ,, & p!aki hayakawa x reader
WARNINGS: mention of starvation and uncleanliness ,, angsty attributes overall. reference to suicide, but not detailed at all-no character death. poor self-esteem (aki)
CIELO'S NOTE: this is so over the place but i hope its still okay!! there is no makima in this okay so we are all happy and living together in #peace because thats what everyone deserves... i seriously need to start proofreading
Tumblr media
ONE ASSUMPTION MANY SHARED ON WHAT TYPE OF PERSON AKI HAYAKAWA WAS THAT HE WAS HEARTLESS. he seemed so, with that stoic expression and nonchalance of his in many situations where he should’ve shown distraught. but aki was the direct opposite of everything that word conveyed, all the antonyms of it gathered because aki wasn’t heartless, he was compassionate, just discreetly so.
although when the rumors of aki being heartless were asked to him, he’d say he was. it was only because he truly dreamt of being that disconnected from the world so he could just feel the immense pain and sorrow that continuously flooded his veins every minute of the day just disperse just for a second. but even this plain out rejection of the true caring quality he had; it could never be erased. as much as he agreed to the rumors and attempted to force this indifference people assumed of him, he did a number of selfless actions in the shadows that would always prove that he just couldn’t be that person.
so, even as he tried to still yet again close himself off from being humane, he couldn’t help but feel that familiar quality of caring when he had saw your malnourished body shivering in the alleyway. you were just a kid, younger looking than the idiots he’s grown to love. your eyes gleaming still, and it guffawed him that you still had that light in your eyes.
seeing you also reminded him of himself, when the gun devil massacre occurred and had left him as lonely and shivering as you were now. that’s what ultimately led him to stretch out his hand towards you. he wouldn’t allow anyone suffer the same fate he had been bestowed of, not when he has the choice to prevent that. he took the part as your sort of saving angel, despite his personal belief that he was still more of a corrupted being.
he told you then that you could only stay with him till you could pick yourself up, ideally a week to get some food in you and hydrate as well as bathe. but that week ultimately turned into two weeks, then three to four until it turned into months and to the point where the days are still counting.
you’ve got a drawer of clothes in aki’s dresser now, pair of shoes fitted in-between the space of denji’s and aki’s at the front door. you even have your own home slippers, a different color from the rest of the residents in the hayakawa household.
you were part of the family.
now it wasn’t hard to warm up to power, and in a short time you both were so close she said you will be her right-hand when she becomes president, learning that the role she deemed for you is actually called vice-president from a tired aki during dinner.
she's certainly overwhelming, with her shameless antics and loud boasts, but you don’t mind. it's better than the loneliness the streets gave you.
she uses you as her alibi or brings you in when she gets a scolding from aki so you could defend her, and because aki blatantly has shown that he favors you more than others she always gets off the hook.
besides that, “abuse” which aki calls it, power has her own way of doting on you and showing she does truly care, such as throwing out your vegetables during meals, so you won't endure its “nastiness” (that's what she says.)
she lets you play with meowy, and there are times you two and the kitty fall asleep together on the sofa, which has become your favorite pastime. power is unbelievably warm, and oddly soft to the touch. she crawls and latches onto you like a koala, and cradles you like she’s protecting you from the outside world. she lets you in on pranks and dangerous activities that lead aki to give her another scolding, and a firm warning to you.
denji is different, but not in a bad way. he at first was annoying and rejected you, but that was till he learned why you live with them, and then he started to warm up because you also reminded him of himself. he treats you now like power, doting on you with a faux annoyance at first to the action. he bathes you if you're too tired, and lets you poke and prod him and gives you a goodnight kiss on the forehead before you slip in the sheets of aki’s bed for the night.
he honestly looks after you more than he does for himself, making sure you're fine and well before he thinks about what he needs to do for him. that ends in late nights where he comes back from a mission and is so exhausted and weak that you help him swallow down a meal aki cooked earlier, as he hadn't eaten in many hours but made sure he begged aki to make dinner your favorite meal before he left.
what he does for you makes you choke back a sob at night when you think about it and how truly kind he is at heart.
but neither the softhearted but unhinged siblings of yours could take the place of aki’s as your favorite out of everyone in the unofficial family. aki hayakawa gave you everything, the normalcy of a domestic life that you were sure you wouldn't have been able to gain back out in the dirty alleyways. no one can ever top the amount of gratitude and admiration you have for the stoic man.
there’s also something special about how aki treats you, it's a contrast from how he is perceived. he treats you softly. you at times have to pout and tell him you're not a toddler because of how gentle he is, which he always gives out a breath of a laugh and a ghost of a smile in response.
he buys you anything you see, within certain extents, when he brings you out with him for mundane things like grocery shopping. and even then, any expensive item you like will end up in a couple weeks' time in a gift bag by your side of the bed.
theres also the fact of when you first came to live with them, and when everyone, including yourself, warmed up, he learned how to braid your hair. he wanted to help you out, as your hair had grown out a lot from the amount of time of you were out there. he learned the simple braid and that was your hairstyle till he reluctantly picked up scissors and watched a video on the decided hairstyle you wanted, even buying other products to keep up the maintenance your hair needed.
he was ultimately the father figure you dreamt of on those cold nights on concrete, and you couldn't have asked for anyone better so that's why even with denji’s selfless acts and power’s constant love nagging he still remained your favorite. even with his grumpy and nonchalant attitude, you loved him.
and aki equally loved you, so hearing your new boasts of how you wanted to be just like him made his heart stop and his breathing hitch. it was quite clear that aki didn't have a great self-image of himself, he was a man previously living solely on avenging his family, he was rage and depression bottled up and living on the brink of breaking, until you and the others came along. but that inner turmoil still left its fragments inside of him, and aki didn't ever want you to feel or be the same way as him. he doesn't want you to endure the mornings where he has to remember he has people that truly care for him now, that he has people to live for, to protect, so he won’t make a life altering decision.
he knows your words come from a good heart, aki knows that you see him as your savior and he feels a little better at the thought of being a saint to someone such as you. but he still grimaces internally when you state you’ll be as great as him, he loves you so much that it hurts in good and bad ways when he hears your idolization. he’s not what you think, he tells himself, but you do. you’ve grown to know who he is underneath that tough facade and still continue to want to be like him.
you admire his strength for what he has endured, and want to be like him in that aspect. you want your compassionate quality to be as large as his so you could help people like he helped you. he’s your favorite, through in and out and you want to be everything he is.
this all brought you here, standing in front of the television and blocking the comedic show from your unofficial siblings and father figure. they all stared at you, denji’s brows furrowed with an open jaw that you guess is about to let out an annoyed question to what you're doing, whilst power just stared at you with the same intensity denji had, while aki just bored his attention onto you.
“hey! what are you-”
before he could finish the sentence, you had predicted to note, you looked straight at aki, a newfound determination set on your features as you clenched your fists.
“i wanna be a devil hunter jus’ like you!”
your words reverberated against the walls of the apartment, and you could see the eyes of aki and denji widen in reaction, but to your surprise you could see more shock coming from aki. you had thought about this decision for a while, your admiration blossoming for aki as each day passes and it's become so overwhelming that you couldn't just not take an actual step towards being just like him.
denji smirked, puffing his chest as he let out a sigh. “ah, i knew you’d want to be as good as me!” he exclaimed, and your own brows furrowed, and you drifted your attention from aki towards your brother who took the direction of your statement to himself. “what!? not you, idiot!!!!” you rebutted, which resulted in an obnoxious laugh from power, her body falling to the floor as she held her stomach and kicked her legs, spurting out words of insults to denji as he started to argue with power in frustrated embarrassment.
the bickering got louder as the two started to fight, and you chose to ignore them like always and looked back at the stunned aki. the man sat there still with crossed legs, but his gaze seems clouded as he was lost in thought.
“aki?” you said, moving to sit down on the floor next to him, his glossed over eyes moving with you as he kept his stare on you. the man then blinked, once, twice, before he seemed to snap out of his world.
aki knew you’d eventually start to take steps towards your admiration, but not this soon. it was endearing and scary and oh so overstimulating to think about your decision. but he knew you long enough that the determination of yours could never die out, the proof being the light that still gleamed in your eyes on that day he found you.
“really? are you sure?...” his words are soft but had a firm tone, and his seeming acceptance to your words throw you off a bit. you nod after a few beats of silence between you two, the bickers of your siblings drowning out in the background as you focused on the conversation with aki. “yes. i want to be jus’ like you aki.” you confirmed, and before he can refute that he isn't everything you say he is you speak again. “i wanna be able to be strong enough to protect people i love jus’ like you, to save others so they dont leave behind people who will be on the streets like me.” the explanation that falls off your lips made aki’s bustling mind quiet for seconds, your words being drunk in by him.
then, he nodded, slowly, then reached out, moving your body to rest against his side as your head found place in the crook of his neck and your body unconsciously melts into a cradle position beside him. his left hand stretches to rest on the arm that's tucked in front of your body, and the other is placed on top of your head. it was his last chance to properly shield you from the world before throwing you back in it.
“okay, we’ll start with basics, no devil contracts or actual battles just yet.”
Tumblr media
CIELO'S SECRETS !!
aki legally adopted you so your last name is actually hayakawa! your siblings are still waiting to gain their actual hayakawa last name :P
i rewrote this 5 times and i still cant seem to like it >:( but this one was the best version! i liked writing about the siblings tee hee.

A couple months after coding Y/N was cleared to go back to work
under strict orders from everyone and watchful eye. One night a week later Connor and Y/N were having dinner. She’s been restless to get back into her routine. Work is a great step, but a couple of her friends at work were talking about going to a yoga class later that week. The next day Connor talks with Will, Ava and Hannah about it. Connor knows what they are going to say, but as her husband he can’t stand seeing her unhappy, as surgeon he understands the risks. Both the surgeon and husband sides want her safe.
Tumblr media
The Balance Between
Summary: A couple months after coding and barely surviving a POTS cascade, Y/N is finally back at work—with a watchful care plan and every doctor she knows on alert. But one night over dinner, she shares a small, innocent hope: going to a yoga class with friends. For her, it’s routine. For Connor, it’s risk. The next day, he finds himself caught between being her husband and being a surgeon—and he turns to Will, Ava, and Hannah for help. Because the last thing he wants to do is crush her spirit
but he’s not sure her body is ready for freedom just yet.
Tumblr media
The pasta was warm, the lights were dimmed, and for the first time in a long while, Y/N felt like herself.
They were halfway through dinner—Connor’s version of a simple meal: grilled chicken, linguine, and fresh herbs he insisted made the difference—when she casually dropped it into the conversation.
“Em and Dani are thinking of doing that evening yoga class again this Thursday,” she said, twirling her fork. “They asked if I wanted to go.”
Connor’s hand paused halfway to his glass.
It was subtle—but she noticed it.
“I wouldn’t overdo it,” she added quickly. “I’d stay near the wall, bring extra salt tabs. I’d take my time.”
He nodded slowly. “You’ve been doing well.”
“I’m cleared for work,” she said, quietly but firmly. “I’m not asking to run a marathon.”
Connor forced a smile, but something in his jaw tightened. “Let’s
just talk about it with your team first, okay?”
He didn’t sleep much that night.
She needed normalcy. She needed things that made her feel alive again.
But all he could picture was her hitting the mat hard mid-stretch, heart rate spiking, body unable to compensate.
So the next morning, after trauma rounds, he cornered the only three people he trusted to talk him down—or back him up.
Ava. Will. Hannah.
“Yoga?” Ava said, sipping coffee with a knowing look. “That’s the big ask?”
“She’s restless,” Connor said, pacing. “She’s doing great at work. Eating, hydrating, pacing herself. But I know her. She’s chasing normal—and yoga’s her version of saying ‘I’m fine.’”
Hannah nodded. “It’s not nothing, Connor. Light stretching, breathwork—it could help. But depending on how the class is structured? It could be a recipe for postural stress and blood pooling.”
“She could faint,” Will said flatly. “Or worse. Especially if she tries to hide how she’s doing—like she always does.”
Connor rubbed a hand over his face. “So what? I say no and she feels like she’s still trapped in her body? Or I say yes and risk it happening again?”
Ava stood. “You do neither. You partner with her. You have a conversation. You ask her to let you help build her safety net for it—what meds she’d need on her, how close the studio is, who’s monitoring her, what modifications she’ll actually take.”
Connor raised an eyebrow. “You sound like you’ve already thought about this.”
“I have,” Ava said. “Because I knew she’d ask. She’s ready to try, Connor. And maybe it’s not a full class. Maybe it’s just ten minutes on a mat at home first.”
Will gave a small smile. “You can’t be the guardrail and the cage. She trusts you to keep her safe. Trust her to tell you when she’s ready.”
That night, when she brought it up again, Connor didn’t say no.
Instead, he sat beside her on the couch, pulled her legs over his lap, and said gently, “Let’s make a plan. One that keeps you safe and lets you breathe again.”
She blinked. “Wait—you’re not vetoing it?”
“No,” he said, resting a hand over her shin. “But I’m also not just letting you walk into a studio without a plan. Not after everything.”
She smiled softly, her voice warm. “Deal.”
Because loving her wasn’t just about keeping her safe.
It was about knowing when to hold on—
And when to let her stretch forward, one breath at a time.
Even if it started right there, in their living room, with Connor at her side and the mat rolled out between them.
Together.

Little!Jj & Caregiver!Hotchniss living together hcs
Tumblr media Tumblr media
tags : autistic!jj, mentions of her mother/childhood being bad, sensory issues
notes: I feel like I haven’t talked about them in agessssss so take this long ramble | tagging @blackbirdsaltzman for their reply <3
Their house is actually a decent size and has a pretty big backyard, they bought something away from the road so they’d have all the privacy they could need
This means Hotch definitely buys a blow up pool for Jj to splash around in and Emily to dip her feet in
Jj loves the water. Baths, pools, ponds, oceans, she’d spend hours upon hours in it all if she could
It leads to a lot of summer days in the backyard where Emily’s reapplying sunblock every fifteen minutes, she sets a timer, and Hotch is making sure that Jj & Em stay hydrated in the sun
But there are times where Jj’s sensory issues kick in and she doesn’t want anything to do with the heat
They keep the Ac pretty high in the house anyways but sometimes Emily will crank it if Jj’s really uncomfortable
When Jj’s home and doesn’t have to worry about being professional she loves to stim
She has quite a few vocal ones — humming, clicking her tongue, echoing things she hears on the Tv, popping her lips
They can get pretty loud at times but Emily and Hotch have become accustomed to it so they don’t mind
She also has some other stims — flapping her hands is a big one, spinning around and bouncing on her feet are also common
The one she does the most is rocking. It could be as they sit on the couch, when she’s standing, really any space that’ll allow her to move side to side or back and forth
When she’s regressed to a younger headspace Emily and Hotch will hold her on their hip and rock in place with her to calm her down
Overall she’s not a very fussy little, but there’s certain things that get tricky
She hates the taste of peppermint so Hotch bought a tube of kids toothpaste and she uses that, Emily is usually the one actually brushing her teeth
Brushing her teeth isn’t really the issue, it’s more the action of doing it. She struggles to get to all her teeth when she’s regressed
And when she’s big she’d rather just have Prentiss do it for her anyways. She also uses a kids toothbrush as the bristles are softer and are less likely to scratch her gums - which is sensory hell for Jj
Most food she eats is also kid food, she has a sensitive stomach anyways so plain food that her caregivers prepare is always preferred to anything bought
Hotch makes little bags of trail mix for Jj, it isnt a traditional trail mix by any means but it has the things Jj likes
Emily does most of the cooking in the house and will make a separate portion without all the seasoning for Jj, she also keeps premade meals in the freezer incase they try something new and Jj doesn’t like it
Both caregivers are very understanding when it comes to Jj’s issues with food and always have snacks on hand to accommodate
They buy kids plates, utensils and cups too
There are nice “adult” plates and silverware but it stays tucked in a cabinet with a child lock unless someone is coming over for dinner
Emily and Hotch get very protective about who comes over to the house, it’s a safe space for all three of them and is very obviously catered to their caregiver & little lifestyle so having someone random in the house is avoided at all costs
Of course the team is welcomed but Jj likes to clean up before they come over
She’ll go around and hide toys, pacifiers, bottles, etc. as she still gets insecure about her regression
Hotch and Emily both do their best to assure Jj that it’s okay and that the team knows but she insists on hiding her more “baby” items in fear of judgement
Jjs mother is not allowed at the house under any circumstances.
Hotch and Emily found out pretty quickly that her mother only ever causes Jj stress and upsets her, just the idea of her at the house is enough to send all three of them spiraling
Jj doesn’t talk much about her childhood in general but when she’s regressed she absolutely refuses
She’ll shutdown at even the mention of it
When she does get upset she gets very quiet and can go non-verbal, she’ll mostly communicate through humming/pointing and occasionally writing things down
Her ears get sensitive at times so there’s pairs of sound proof headphones scattered around the house
Emily and Hotch have bought all the types. From ear plugs to industrial headphones
Jj cycles through them all depending on how bad her sensory issues are
A lot of the time she’ll have ear plugs that block out background noise in, they aren’t noticeable and she’s still able to listen to the Tv or to Hotch & Emily talk
There are rare times where Jj doesn’t want to hear anything at all, that’s where the industrial headphones come in
It had started with Hotch & Emily noticing that Jj would plug her ears with her fingers and eventually grew to their extensive headphone collection
She likes to build forts and curl up in them with Hotch or Em
Most times it’s Hotch pulled down with her while they make Emily guess a password (spoiler alert she never gets it right)
Jj climbs into Emily & Hotchs bed in the morning almost every morning, assuming she didn’t sleep in-between them
She always brings at least one stuffie with her and makes sure Emily & Hotch both say good morning to it
There’s many pictures on Hotchs phone of Emily and Jj in these moments, curled up together, in the midst of laughing, Aaron loves the early morning time they all get together
Emily’s phone is filled with mid-day pictures from the places they go and activities they do, Hotch takes pictures of this too but not nearly as many as Prentiss
Technically Jj takes pictures too but most are blurry or of her and Emily making faces at Hotch while he’s turned around (he always knows)

Ello! How do you think the girls will react and take care of their respective others when they are down sick and vice versa. Its always cute when one of the mcs is sick and the other is worried and takes care of them
Aww. This is a really cute idea. And they have such different dynamics that there's a lot to look at here.
Here are my headcanons!
First and foremost, all of the guys hire private caretakers. They could handle things like making sure their partner is taking their meds and staying hydrated (Kai being the most capable). At the same time, they would need help with cooking, childcare, etc.
Will is a huuuuge baby when he's sick. The kind that sneezes and cries, "babe, I'm dying!" It's a joke... mostly. He does exaggerate his symptoms, but he genuinely feels awful. Fortunately, Emmy is used to the role of caretaker because of her grandma. Remembering meds, fluids, and preparing healthy meals are all things in her wheelhouse. She's probably fine with the more disgusting parts of being sick, and can power through them without complaint. Doesn't mean she rolls over for him. "Babe, I need my pillows fluffed," would be met with a flat expression and a middle finger as she left the room. However, she's attentive to his (actual) needs.
When Emmy gets sick, the house doesn't fall apart, but Will thinks it's going to. He doubts his abilities too much, but he's not that bad and keeping things going. He's likely to have a nurse come in to check on her, making sure she's not getting worse, and explain each of the medications to him. I think sometimes, he could be over attentive, and go over board in trying to cover all his bases. As for their three children, he's go that handled. Their kids that understand that Mom needs rest, and that Dad is fun to play with. II is also a big help, making sure his mom has everything she needs from water to tissues to extra blankets. He would absolutely fluff her pillows.
Their sick days are filled with watching bad reality TV and eating soup when the other isn't resting.
Damon would refuse to accept he's sick until he's literally bedridden. The entire time, Winter would know he's getting sick. "You're voice sounds different. Are you sure you're not getting congested?" Does Damon listen? No. He's fine. Until he wakes up one morning with a fever and can't move without being pain.
Winter would need help. She can't handle the kids and Damon, and keep track of everything in the house., but they have the nanny and that helps with the kids. I still think she hires a nurse, but that also has it's own issues. Damon hates any other woman coming into his lair room, touching him, touching his things. He also doesn't want some random man doing it either. He's mean and snappy and grumpy, and Winter would worry about the caretaker's safety if it wasn't for the fact that he couldn't lift himself from the bed.
Which is kind of a funny image in her head, not that she'd let him catch her laughing.
When Winter gets sick, she's low maintenance... or tries to be. Damon forces a team of very confused nurses and doctors to attend to her needs. Winter eventually gets him to let them leave, letting him know she trusts him to be enough.
They don't really leave their room, and fully attend to each other needs with all of their attention. When Damon is sick, all he really wants is to hold Winter. Or be held. Or have her close. He wants comfort and Winter is happy to be that. And there is some comfort in knowing Damon would force some poor doctor to bring her back from the dead, possibly including an actual Satanic ritual if it comes to that. But this is just a cold, and she's fine.
Kai rarely gets sick. He keeps such a healthy routine and pays attention to his immune system. If something feels even slightly off, he addresses it quickly. But every once in a while, even he gets taken down. I see Kai not wanting anyone to attend to him, and Banks is patient with him as he tries to pretend he doesn't need help. Still, she knows his favorite tea and what he likes to eat when he's feeling under the weather. Each time Kai is struggling get out of the bed, and Banks appears with soup and meds telling him (demanding, really) to lay back down and rest, he's so incredibly humbled. And grateful.
Banks, like her brother, doesn't find it easy to admit that she's getting sick. She doesn't want to be taken care of. But Kai, more than the others, knows what to do. He's confident in his ability to manage the house, kids, business, and Banks being down. He's good at delegating his other duties to prioritize her, and if he calls in any help, it's a doctor that makes house calls so she doesn't have to leave the house, and a house keeper to help with laundry and things.
They both try to push their limits when sick and the other has to check them. They'll spend their time making sure the sick person is actually resting.
Michael is pretty simple when he's sick. He tries to fight it off, but when he's sick, he goes to the doctor, gets his meds, and follows directions. He doesn't whine too much, but he's extremely grumpy. Rika finds it funny, and laughs as she helps, poking fun of him in his helpless state a little bit, since he can't really do anything. As gross as colds are, it's still much better that helping her mom from the bathroom floor to the bed after a particularly bad night. She'd take sick Michael over that any day.
Rika hates getting sick, but she can usually feel it coming. She tries to be low maintenance but in actuality she loves be doted on by Michael. Loves it when he takes care of her himself, but even seeing the way he watches over the doctor is sweet to her. She can sense how important it is to him that she get the best care. However, she knows she doesn't need all that fuss and takes care of herself pretty well, despite Michael's protest.
Overall, they're both high maintenance but pretend not to be.
Not confident in the accuracy, but I think these are cute little scenarios for them. Let me know what you think or what your headcanons are!

happy evening!
is it evening or morning anymore? who knows.
i’m so grateful you feel well enough after your break to start posting again. i was running out of material to read before bed, without your updates! still, taking care of yourself is more important. i hope you’re able to carve out time for yourself recently, too.
i adore cooking. my partner is long distance or i’d cook for them all the time, if i could! on the rare occasions i see them, i’m always blessed with the chance to make a warm meal. something about cooking for more than one person makes me feel all fuzzy inside. recently i’ve been getting into trying to cook things i never have before. i’d like to try to make dumplings sometime soon, hopefully they taste alright!
as an avid reader myself, i can’t help but offer you queer romance (and otherwise) books (based on what you said you liked). the starless sea by erin morgenstern is perhaps my favorite book ever, and ties into fantasy and queer identity (it is mlm, if that isn’t your preference to read), and is much more spiritual than horny (though there are a few moments!). honey girl by morgan rogers is a very enticing lesbian-oriented book, with some very beautiful writing and a bit of tasteful sex, another one of my favorites. and of course, you can’t have a queer book recommendation list without song of achilles by madeline miller, another mlm historical fiction with a lot of queer identity struggle (this one will make you cry for sure) and greek mythology. overall, i love all three of these books, but if they’re not your thing, i have a plethora of other queer book recommendations!
in these tough times, don’t forget to rest and drink water. be aware of your needs!
- 🎀
good day to you too!!
this ask has been marinating for a while, and again, apologies for my slow slow response time (rip)! i hope you've been keeping well in the meantime.
i've recently moved, so it's been busy and classes have resumed so it's a lot everything happening all at once. i've had a scary amount of time catching up with irl folks though haha.
cooking is actually therapeutic and fun—i get it! and yes, there's something about cooking for another person that makes life feel that much fuller and warmer. what have you been cooking recently? did those dumplings come into fruition??
thank you for the book recs!! i'll be adding those to my list for sure. i've tried to read song of achilles (don't come for me ya'll), but i couldn't get into it...maybe it's because it's mlm, but i think i had some sort of emotional disconnect from their dynamic. but regardless of what i think, i know plenty of people who love it to bits, so all the power to them!!
thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness—they're very much appreciated in these trying times <3 please stay hydrated and well rested!

Is Pozole Healthy? Your Guide to This Tasty Soup
Tumblr media
Pozole – that hearty, flavorful Mexican stew – is a favorite for many. But if you're trying to eat well, you might pause and wonder, is pozole healthy? The simple answer is: it definitely can be! Like many traditional dishes, pozole's health factor really depends on how it's made, the specific ingredients used, and how much you eat. Made with hominy (processed corn), typically pork or chicken, and a savory broth, pozole can offer some solid nutritional benefits. However, certain preparations can also be high in sodium or fat. Let's dig into what makes pozole potentially nutritious and how you can enjoy it as part of a balanced diet.
Key Takeaways
- Pozole can be a healthy dish depending on ingredients and preparation methods. - It provides fiber from hominy and protein from meat (especially lean options like chicken). - Fresh vegetable toppings add vitamins, minerals, and extra fiber. - Potential drawbacks include high sodium content (from broth and salt) and saturated fat (from fatty cuts of pork or certain toppings). - You can easily make pozole healthier by choosing lean meats, using low-sodium broth, loading up on veggie toppings, and controlling portion sizes. - Hominy itself offers fiber and niacin but is lower in some nutrients than whole corn.
What Exactly is Pozole?
Before we dive into the nutrition nitty-gritty, let's make sure we're all picturing the same delicious soup. Pozole is a traditional Mexican stew whose name comes from the Nahuatl word "pozolli," meaning "hominy." Hominy – dried corn kernels treated with an alkali solution (a process called nixtamalization) – is the star ingredient, giving the soup its characteristic chewy texture. There are three main types of pozole, distinguished by their broth: - Pozole Rojo: Red pozole gets its color and flavor from dried red chiles (like ancho and guajillo) blended into the broth. - Pozole Blanco: White pozole is simpler, often without the addition of chiles in the broth itself, letting the flavors of the meat and hominy shine. - Pozole Verde: Green pozole uses ingredients like tomatillos, cilantro, jalapeños, and pumpkin seeds (pepitas) for its signature color and tangy flavor. Traditionally, pozole often features pork, but chicken is also very common. Vegetarian versions are gaining popularity too! It's typically served with a vibrant array of toppings that diners add themselves, such as shredded lettuce or cabbage, sliced radishes, chopped onions, cilantro, lime juice, and sometimes avocado or crumbled cheese. Doesn't that sound good? But the question remains

Breaking Down the Nutrition: Is Pozole Healthy?
Okay, let's get technical, but keep it simple. Whether pozole gets a "healthy" stamp depends on its building blocks. The Good Stuff: Potential Health Benefits Pozole definitely has some nutritional highlights going for it: - Fiber Power from Hominy: Hominy provides dietary fiber, which is great for digestion, helps you feel full, and can contribute to stable blood sugar levels. The nixtamalization process actually makes some nutrients, like niacin (vitamin B3), more available than in regular corn. - Lean Protein Source: If made with chicken breast or lean cuts of pork (like loin), pozole is an excellent source of protein. Protein is essential for building and repairing tissues, supporting immune function, and keeping you satisfied after a meal. - Vegetable Boost: Those fresh toppings aren't just for looks! Loading up on shredded lettuce, cabbage, radishes, onions, and cilantro adds vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and even more fiber to your bowl. Think Vitamin C, Vitamin K, and various beneficial plant compounds. - Hydration Helper: Since it's a soup, pozole contributes to your daily fluid intake, helping you stay hydrated. - Satisfying & Comforting: Let's be real, sometimes the comfort food factor is a benefit in itself! A warm, flavorful bowl can be incredibly satisfying. Watch Outs: Potential Drawbacks Where can pozole trip you up health-wise? - Sodium Overload: This is often the biggest concern. Broth (especially store-bought), added salt during cooking, and sometimes the hominy itself can contribute to very high sodium levels. According to the American Heart Association, most adults should aim for less than 2,300 mg of sodium per day, and ideally under 1,500 mg, especially those with high blood pressure. A single restaurant serving of pozole can sometimes pack a huge portion of that daily limit. - Fat Content: If made with fattier cuts of pork (like shoulder or ribs) or if topped generously with things like fried tortilla strips, crema (Mexican sour cream), or lots of cheese, the saturated fat and overall calorie count can climb quickly. - Calories & Portions: While not inherently super high-calorie, large servings, especially with fatty meats and rich toppings, can make it a calorie-dense meal. Being mindful of portion size is key. - Hominy vs. Whole Corn: While hominy offers benefits, the nixtamalization process does remove the corn's hull and germ, reducing some of the fiber and nutrients found in whole kernel corn. So, the picture is mixed. Pozole has potential health perks, but also areas where you need to be mindful. But the great news is, you have control!
Making Your Pozole Healthier: Simple Swaps & Tips
Want to enjoy pozole without derailing your health goals? It's easier than you think! Here are some practical ways to boost the nutrition and cut back on the less desirable elements: - Pick Lean Protein: Opt for chicken breast (skinless), turkey breast, or lean cuts of pork like tenderloin or loin instead of fattier cuts like shoulder or ribs. For a plant-based option, use beans (like pinto or kidney) or jackfruit. - Sodium Control is Key: - Use low-sodium broth or make your own broth where you control the salt. - Rinse canned hominy thoroughly to remove excess sodium. - Taste before adding extra salt at the table – the chiles and spices often provide plenty of flavor! - Load Up on Veggie Toppings: Be generous with shredded lettuce or cabbage, sliced radishes, chopped white onion, fresh cilantro, and a squeeze of lime. These add crunch, freshness, vitamins, and fiber with minimal calories. - Go Easy on Fatty Toppings: Limit or skip fried tortilla strips, full-fat cheese, and heavy crema or sour cream. Opt for a dollop of plain Greek yogurt (similar tang, more protein) or a few slices of avocado for healthy fats instead. - Watch Your Portion Size: Be mindful of how much you ladle into your bowl. Start with a moderate serving and see if you're truly still hungry before going back for seconds. - Consider Veggie Power: Try making a vegetarian pozole packed with beans, mushrooms, zucchini, or other vegetables for a naturally lower-fat, high-fiber option. By making these simple adjustments, you can create a delicious and nutritious bowl of pozole that fits perfectly into a healthy eating pattern.
Pozole Variations: Comparing Health Factors
Do the different colors – rojo, blanco, verde – change the health equation much? Pozole Rojo vs. Blanco vs. Verde From a core nutritional standpoint (calories, fat, sodium), the main difference between these types often comes down to how the broth is prepared beyond the chiles or tomatillos. - Blanco: Might be lowest in fat/calories if no extra fat is added during cooking, as it lacks blended ingredients that could include oil. - Rojo: Dried chiles themselves are nutritious (vitamins, antioxidants). The health impact depends on whether oil is used when blending/toasting the chiles and the amount of salt. - Verde: Tomatillos, cilantro, and often pumpkin seeds add unique nutrients (vitamins, minerals, healthy fats from seeds). Again, watch for added oils or salt during preparation. Overall, the color itself isn't the main driver of health differences. The choice of meat, amount of added fat/salt, and toppings have a much bigger impact than whether the broth is red, white, or green. Pork vs. Chicken vs. Vegetarian This choice makes a more significant difference: - Pork: Can range widely. Lean pork loin is comparable to chicken breast. Fattier cuts like shoulder significantly increase saturated fat and calories. - Chicken: Using skinless chicken breast keeps the pozole lean and high in protein. Dark meat or skin-on chicken adds more fat. - Vegetarian: Typically uses beans or vegetables. This version is generally lowest in fat (especially saturated fat), cholesterol-free, and very high in fiber. Still need to watch the sodium in the broth!

FAQs: Is Pozole Healthy?
Let's tackle some common questions people ask about pozole and health: Is pozole good for weight loss? It can be part of a weight loss plan if prepared healthily. Focus on lean protein (chicken), low-sodium broth, lots of low-calorie veggie toppings, and controlled portion sizes. The fiber and protein can help you feel full and satisfied, which aids weight management. Avoid high-fat meats and toppings. Is pozole high in calories? It depends entirely on the ingredients and portion size. A basic chicken or veggie pozole with lots of veggies can be moderate in calories (around 300-400 per serving). However, versions with fatty pork, large portions, and toppings like avocado, cheese, crema, and fried tortillas can easily push the calorie count much higher (600+ calories). Is pozole high in sodium? This is often pozole's biggest nutritional pitfall. Traditional recipes and restaurant versions can be very high in sodium due to salty broths, added salt, and sometimes the hominy itself. Making it at home using low-sodium broth and rinsing the hominy gives you much better control. What are the benefits of eating pozole? Potential benefits include being a good source of lean protein (if using chicken/lean pork), providing dietary fiber from hominy and vegetables, supplying niacin (Vitamin B3), contributing to hydration, and offering vitamins and minerals from veggie toppings. Plus, it's delicious and satisfying! Is hominy healthy? Hominy can be part of a healthy diet. It provides fiber and niacin. The nixtamalization process makes niacin more bioavailable but removes some other nutrients found in whole corn. It's a good source of complex carbohydrates. As with most foods, moderation and how it's prepared are key. Rinsing canned hominy helps reduce sodium. Can I eat pozole every day? While a healthfully prepared pozole can be nutritious, eating any single dish every day isn't ideal for getting a wide variety of nutrients. Enjoying pozole as part of a balanced diet that includes many different foods is the best approach. If you make a large batch, enjoy it for a couple of meals, but aim for variety overall.
Conclusion: Enjoying Pozole Mindfully
So, back to the original question: is pozole healthy? The verdict is clear: it absolutely can be a nutritious and satisfying meal! It offers protein, fiber, and a chance to load up on veggies. The key lies in mindful preparation and smart choices. By opting for lean proteins, controlling the sodium content, piling on those fresh and crunchy toppings, and watching your portion sizes, you can easily incorporate pozole into a healthy lifestyle. It's a testament to how traditional foods can be both incredibly delicious and good for you when approached thoughtfully. So go ahead, enjoy that comforting bowl – maybe just hold back a little on the fried bits and extra salt! What's your favorite healthy way to top your pozole? What Are the 7 Types of Nutrition? IFCA’s Practical Breakdown
Tumblr media
When it comes to helping clients get results, nutrition is often the biggest missing link. You can write the most dialed-in training program, but if your client is living off energy drinks and frozen meals, progress will stall.
The problem? Most clients (and a lot of coaches) think nutrition is just about macros or calories. But in reality, there are seven different types of nutrition that affect how someone looks, feels, performs, and functions.
At IFCA, we break these down in a simple, no-fluff way that coaches can actually use with clients. Whether you’re helping someone lose fat, gain muscle, manage stress, or improve energy, understanding these categories helps you guide them better—without having to be a dietitian.
Let’s walk through the 7 types of nutrition, what they really mean, and how to apply them in your coaching business.
1. Macronutrient Nutrition
This is the most well-known—and most talked about—form of nutrition. It’s about the big three:
Protein
Carbohydrates
Fats
Each plays a unique role in body composition, energy, and recovery. The goal here is to balance these macros based on the client’s goals, training style, and preferences.
What Coaches Should Know: Teach clients the why behind macros—not just how to hit numbers. For example, explain how protein supports muscle repair or how carbs fuel training performance. And remember: not every client needs to track. Some do better with hand-portions or general guidelines.
2. Micronutrient Nutrition
Micros include vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants—things like vitamin D, magnesium, iron, calcium, and zinc.
They may not directly impact aesthetics, but they’re crucial for hormone health, immunity, digestion, mood, and sleep.
What Coaches Should Know: If your client is feeling sluggish, dealing with cravings, or struggling with sleep—even while “hitting their macros”—micronutrient gaps might be the missing link. A whole-food diet is the best place to start. Supplements can support, but food first.
3. Hydration Nutrition
Water isn’t just about staying hydrated—it affects energy, digestion, joint health, focus, and performance. But it’s often overlooked.
What Coaches Should Know: Many clients underperform or overeat simply because they’re dehydrated. Teach simple hydration goals (like half their bodyweight in ounces), and remind them that caffeine and alcohol don’t count toward water intake. Electrolytes may be needed for active or sweaty clients.
4. Emotional Nutrition
This is about the relationship someone has with food. Emotional nutrition includes stress eating, restriction/binging cycles, guilt, shame, and body image challenges.
What Coaches Should Know: This is a major factor in long-term success. You can’t ignore emotional patterns—especially if your client has a dieting history. Be aware of red flags like “good vs bad food” language or extreme perfectionism. Practice empathy and avoid over-complicating food early on.
5. Social Nutrition
Food is social. We eat at restaurants, birthdays, holidays, and on the go. Social nutrition is about navigating real-life situations without anxiety or sabotage.
What Coaches Should Know: Teach clients flexible frameworks, not strict plans. Things like the “one plate rule,” prioritizing protein when eating out, or planning ahead for events can make a huge difference. The goal is sustainability—not avoiding life.
6. Environmental Nutrition
This includes a client’s food environment—what’s available in their home, what they keep in the pantry, how meals are prepared, and even who they eat with.
What Coaches Should Know: If someone keeps junk food within arm’s reach 24/7, they’re going to struggle. Help clients shape their environment by prepping meals, setting up grocery routines, and managing their “trigger foods.” Environment supports willpower.
7. Cultural Nutrition
Food is deeply tied to culture, heritage, beliefs, and tradition. Ignoring this can make a client feel disconnected from their values—or like they have to choose between health and identity.
What Coaches Should Know: Don’t push a one-size-fits-all plan. Instead, understand your client’s cultural background and how food plays a role in it. Respect it, work with it, and build strategies that support both health and heritage.
Why This Breakdown Matters for Coaches
Most coaches only focus on macros and meal plans—and they wonder why clients ghost, binge, or bounce back to old habits.
By zooming out and looking at nutrition from all seven angles, you can:
Create more personalized and realistic strategies
Help clients develop a better relationship with food
Improve long-term compliance and retention
Position yourself as a well-rounded, high-level coach
You don’t need a PhD in nutrition. You just need to understand people—and this framework helps you do exactly that.
Want More Tools Like This?
At IFCA, we teach fitness coaches how to deliver real transformations. That means understanding client behavior, building smarter systems, and having conversations that actually lead to change—not just calorie cuts.
If you're ready to become the coach who stands out—not just with your programming, but with your coaching—you’re in the right place.
Let’s build your business, your client systems, and your coaching confidence—together.
