One Piece: Battle For Time Arc.

Chapter 2: You're not my dad!!

(A/n: this has got some feelies so be warned that this will hit you in the gut.)

"I'm sorry, my dad? As far as i know, Whitebeard is my dad, and this doesn't look like his ship." Ace huffed

"Can you two keep it down? My head is pounding." A voice piped up

Nami glanced over to see the person speaking was Savannah. Savannah was Crocodile's secretary when he was in Alabasta, then worked for Mihawk while he was in Impel Down. Since he escaped, she went back to being the secretary...right? Nami sighed. That relationship was too complex for her to figure out.

"You said we are on the Oro Jackson, correct? So we did go back in time. I heard a small childs voice, and then suddenly i blacked out." Savannah said, glancing out the window.

"Same here." Ace said. He looked around the room. There were two people still not awake, and they were Killer and Shay.

"I see we have 2 new faces awake this morning." Achlys stated, walking in behind Crocus. Two small figures clung to her legs behind her. A familiar strawhat sticking out to them.

"It was a matter of time, Achlys. Now i am worried about the other two. They took the hardest impact. I'll have to monitor them." Crocus tapped his chin in thought.

"Achlys! Have you got a moment?" Rogers voice boomed from outside, making everyone who heard it wince.

"Oye Roger, keep yer voice down!" Gaban yelled.

Achlys sighed. Looking down at the two boys, she bent down and whispered something to them. They both nodded and gave a smile as she left the infirmary to deal with the bigger baby she often watched, aka her captain.

"Crocus, how come this lady and this man haven't woken up yet?" Buggy asked.

"Well, when they crashed onto the ship from the sky, it seems these two took a hard landing. So they may not wake up for a while."

Shanks didn't bother listening to the two. He was more interested in Ace. Rather, how much Ace looked like Captain Roger. His eyes sparkled with curiosity. Ace noticed this and chuckled to himself. What an odd kid.

"Roger, what is it that you needed me for?" Achlys huffed. This man, at times, with his strange requests.

"Oh! Uh...has my...son woken up?" He said, looking rather shy and embarrassed. This was unusual for him to do. Rayleigh and Achlys looked at him like he was an alien.

"What in the world....where's our loud and boisterous Roger?" Rayleigh started but was cut off by his own laughing fit.

"Ace is awake, yes. But i don't think he has any desire to even meet you, regardless of the timeline he's in." She stated,looking down at the chart notes. She would have to file these away in her office later. "Also, Roger, i believe im still missing paperwork from you. I need to get the papers in their proper file." She glared at the tall man, who in response flinched at her words.

"Uh... oh, Shanks! What's up lad?" He quickly changed topics as the young boy approached the three.

"I was curious. Who are these people? Achlys said she would tell us."

Achlys bent down to his height. She smiled softly, patting the top of his head and hat. "I did, didn't I? Why dont you go get Buggy and we can talk in my office alright?" She said in a warm tone. Shanks quickly nodded, taking off to grab Buggy. Achlys turned towards her office, stopping for a moment.

"Dont try to push a relationship with the kid, Roger. I already sense some hostility towards you or your name." She said before resuming the trek.

He just sighed instead.

Shanks squirmed on the couch of Achlys's office, waiting patiently as she finished clearing the small stack of papers Roger finally decided to give her.

"Alright, done. Thanks for being patient boys." She said, taking a seat between them. They immediately hugged her sides. She laughed softly, rubbing their backs.

"So the people in our infirmary, they're not from here...in a way."

"What do you mean?" Buggy looked up and tilted his head

"So they're time travelers. They're from the future of a different timeline. But they didn't come here by choice, it seems."

"What do you know about them?"

"Well, the red-haired lady, she's actually your younger sister. And the man with the orange hat looks to be Rogers son. And the orangette is a navigator to a captain who has a strawhat just like yours." She mused while explaining the crews Savannah and Killer came from with the limited knowledge she knew about them.

"Wait, my younger sister??? I thought you guys found me in a chest?" He looked at her, squinting his eyes in confusion

"Im not sure about the exact details... but she shares the same last name as yours. The one on your clothes."

"And Roger's son-"

"YOU'RE NOT MY FATHER, YOU WON'T EVER BE MY FATHER. IT'S BECAUSE OF YOU THAT I HAD TO LISTEN TO PEOPLE CALL ME A FREAK. AND A MONSTER! AND MOM DIED KEEPING ME INSIDE HER WOMB LONGER SO I DIDN'T GET KILLED! YOU RUINED EVERYTHING!" Ace screamed, catching her attention

"Stay here." She said, rushing out to the deck. She told her airhead of a captain to leave the poor kid be. He didn't listen.

"Please I-"

"No! You dont get it! It's because of you that caused me to burn Lilligan, one of my few lights in my life! And now im stuck here with you instead of trying to apologize to her for being a monster that I know i am!"

FLASHBACK

"ACE! Please dont think that way! You're not a monster. You're not your father! You're my beloved firefly -" Lilligan said, catching up to him and grabbing his hands.

Marineford still haunted him. The words they said, the ones he heard. The problems HE caused for just being alive. He didn't deserve anything. Not Zara almost dying to bring him and Pops back to life. Luffy almost dying... Ace got so in his thoughts that he didn't realize his hands heated up til he heard a yelp and turned towards Lilligan. His wide eyes were a mixture of guilt, sorrow, and fear.

"Lil...i d-didn't mean to -"

"Ace, it's fine... I need to go see Marco." She said, the skin already blistering.

Ace watched as she rushed towards Marco's office, clearly in pain. He cursed at himself and threw a fist into the nearest thing, which was a wooden wall. His fist went through it, hitting a solid metal structure.

Immediately retracting it, yelling out a string of curses while holding his hand. He only froze when he heard something.

"Please...help me"

Then suddenly, his vision went black but felt air rushing beneath him. If this is how it ends, then so be it...

...

"Ace! Ace! Hey, focus on me!"

"Ace, focus on me," Achlys said gently. His eyes snap into focus and look at her. Her motherly vibe seemed to ease him. She noticed a few tears. She walked over and hugged him loosely.

He froze, then immediately collapsed in her arms sobbing. She rubbed his back gently

"There there. It's ok to cry. I watch all these grown ass men cry all the time. Like how Gaban cries over snakes. He said it was because they dont have arms." She said, earning a chuckle from Ace.

"Thanks...i needed that. I just miss my girl Lil. I was going to apologize to her when i ended up here."

"I think i know where she is, actually. We were headed that way anyway."

"Hm? And where is that?"

"Your mother Rouge sent a letter saying she had 5 people crash land into the island. One of them was Marco."

"We are headed to the Island of Baterilla. And should be arriving shortly."

The theory that Luffy is the key to the one piece has me stressing (/s)

I was drawing his scar and its just very X marks the spot of his heart. There is some commentary here that he got the scar after losing Ace. How he had his heart torn out at losing his brother and how Law was there to help him heal.

Jimbei is there ofc and is the one who helps Luffy remember his crew in the end, but the fact that Law is *there* I think has a huge part to play of why they slowly learn to get along on the same wavelength later.

I saw a few theories when googling Shanks that the man thinks is the key to the one piece

Law who was not quite going after the one piece itself, but like Robin, he is traveling for knowledge of the world, so I wonder if he realises or starts believing that Luffy is the key.

For added angst an AU where the key is literary Luffy, his blood, his death bringing on a new world like Rogers did. History repeats itself but Law who put all his hope in Luffy and gotten attached is not going to let Luffy die which is where the immorality surgery comes into play.

Now I dont subscribe to the Evil Shanks Theory, but in an au? Mmm, make him worse, so much worse (or go the evil twin route). Shanks standing over Luffy's unconcious body,

Law trying to reach him.

Sacrificed at an altar in front of a door that leads to the one piece, the bloodline of D being the seal, but only if they have a mythical Zoan.

Law trying to give his life, not wanting to lose a person he cares about, going straight to self-sacrifice.

Just this whole trope would go so hard for the feels xd

Chapter 1: Beginnings

A/N: Ahhhh! This is the first chapter of my new series! Die with a smile, Portgas D. Ace x Reader. When i tell you to this will be an interesting take. And dont worry tomorrow I’ll post the next chapter to Lost and Found a pirates Promise. But here is also a synopsis of the story, and what will entail. I leave you with the chapter and tomorrow will be interesting.

Synopsis:

Y/N, the determined daughter of Fleet Admiral Sakazuki, and Ace, the free-spirited son of Gol D. Roger, have always been bound by their legacies. After going their separate ways to pursue their own pirate dreams, they find themselves crossing paths once again. As they face off against the dangers of the Grand Line, old wounds resurface, and the sparks between them become impossible to ignore. With freedom and their futures on the line, can they overcome their pasts and the expectations that threaten to pull them apart?

They say every picture tells a story, and every word written can describe your best and worst days.

When I met Ace, I hated his guts—his cocky attitude, his boyish charm, the way he acted like he was better than me. He had this smug confidence that made my blood boil, always looking down on me like I was nothing more than a burden. Yet, despite my hatred, I couldn’t shake the fact that we were both stuck in the same miserable situation.

When we were younger, my father left me in the hands of Vice Admiral Garp, who—without a second thought—dropped both Luffy and me into the care of mountain bandits. Dadan, to be exact. My father is a Marine admiral, well Fleet admiral to be exact, a man who stood for everything I despised. The Marines, the World Government, their so-called "justice"—I wanted nothing to do with it. And yet, he still tried to mold me into his perfect little soldier, blind to the fact that I had already made up my mind.

So, when Garp introduced us to Dadan, Luffy and I dangling from his iron grip, we knew we were in for it. We were just kids—scrawny, clueless, and completely unprepared for what was ahead.

Life in the mountains was brutal. The bandits didn’t coddle us, and Dadan made it clear that she wasn’t thrilled about having three extra mouths to feed. Ace was already there when we arrived, and from the moment I met him, I knew we wouldn’t get along. He ignored me, pretended I didn’t exist, like I was nothing but a shadow in his world. At first, I didn’t care. But then, something about it started to bother me.

He had no problem messing with Luffy, laughing whenever the kid tripped over his own feet or ran face-first into a tree. But with me? It was different. He never laughed, never acknowledged me, just acted as if I wasn’t worth his time.

So, I decided to make him notice me. And then, one day, I found him and another kid—Sabo—tying Luffy up to a tree.

Poor guy thought they were going to kill him, his face red with panic as he thrashed against the ropes. When he blurted out that he had a Devil Fruit, they both stopped and exchanged wicked grins, laughing like maniacs.

“Well, in that case,” Ace smirked, “should we test it out?”

Sabo nodded, rubbing his chin. “Yeah, I’m real curious to see if he sinks or swims.”

They made a move toward the river, and I had enough.

“Why are you guys picking on Luffy?” I shouted, jumping down from the tree branches and landing in front of them.

Ace and Sabo glanced at each other, amused, but I ignored them and went straight for Luffy.

“Don’t worry, I’ll get you out of there.” I knelt, fingers fumbling with the knots. “How many knots are here?!” I muttered in frustration, tugging uselessly at the rope.

Luffy sniffled. “They tied a lot...”

“Yeah, no kidding.”

Ace crossed his arms, watching me struggle. “What do you care?”

I glared up at him. “Because he’s our friend.”

Ace raised a brow, his expression unreadable. Then, after a moment, he sighed, stepping closer. With a flick of his wrist, he loosened the rope in one swift motion.

Luffy tumbled forward, rubbing his wrists. “Ow, ow...”

Ace grinned. “You’re both idiots.”

Sabo laughed, shaking his head. “Maybe, but I kinda like this one.”

That was the first time Ace actually looked at me. Ace scoffed, gripping a metal pipe as he turned to me. “Why are you babying him? You’ll never survive if you’re like this.”

I clenched my fists, standing face to face with him. Sure, we were little, but that didn’t mean I was going to let him pick on Luffy.

“You shouldn’t treat others like they’re beneath you,” I said firmly.

Ace’s eyes narrowed slightly, but before he could say anything, a loud voice cut through the trees.

“Ace! Luffy! Y/N!”

Dadan’s voice rang through the forest, her tone laced with irritation.

“Looks like we gotta head back,” Luffy said, scratching the back of his head.

Ace clicked his tongue but turned away. “Sabo, you’re coming too.”

Sabo grinned. “Of course.”

I walked behind them, my arms still crossed. I had a point to prove, but Ace acted like the whole thing didn’t even faze him. Typical. Luffy, on the other hand, was grinning ear to ear like nothing happened, practically bouncing as he walked.

The sun had already started to set, casting an orange glow over the trees, and the chirping of insects filled the air as we made our way back. The climb up the rocky path toward the hideout was familiar, but it never got any easier, especially when my stomach growled in protest.

By the time we reached the clearing, Dadan was waiting for us, her massive hands on her hips and a scowl on her face.

“Where the hell have you brats been?!” she barked.

Luffy flinched, hiding behind me like I could shield him from her wrath. Ace, as usual, looked completely unbothered. Sabo stuffed his hands in his pockets, playing it cool.

Ace shrugged. “We were busy.”

“Busy causing trouble, I bet.” Dadan’s glare landed on me next. “And you! I thought you were at least the sensible one!”

I straightened my shoulders. “I was making sure they didn’t throw Luffy in the river.”

Dadan’s nostrils flared as she turned to Ace and Sabo. “You two were gonna do what?!”

Ace rolled his eyes. “We weren’t actually gonna do it.”

Sabo laughed, nudging him. “Yeah, just wanted to see if he’d panic.”

“I did panic!” Luffy cried, waving his arms.

Dadan groaned, rubbing her temples. “I swear, you brats are gonna be the death of me.”

She grumbled under her breath before motioning for us to get inside. “Hurry up, dinner’s already made. And if you don’t eat fast, the others’ll take your share.”

Luffy gasped in horror and bolted toward the house. “I won’t let that happen!!” He bolted toward the house like a starving animal, and I couldn’t help but laugh as I sprinted after him.

“Wait for me, Luffy!” I yelled, trying to keep up.

The smell of food hit us before we even stepped inside. It wasn’t much, but after the day we’d had, it felt like a feast. We practically inhaled our food, enjoying the brief moment of peace before the chaos kicked back in.

Then came the knock.

“Oh, oh…” Luffy and I both froze, exchanging panicked glances.

The door swung open, and there stood Garp, towering and grinning like a madman.

“So, Dadan, have you whipped them into shape to become marines yet?” Garp’s voice boomed, and I nearly choked on my food.

“HECK NO!” I blurted out before quickly covering my mouth.

Garp raised an eyebrow at me, his grin only growing wider. “Your father is a marine, Y/N. He wants you to follow in his footsteps. He’s getting ranked to admiral soon.”

“I could care less!” I blurted again, this time with a bit more defiance in my voice. “I’d… I’d rather be a pirate than a marine.”

Garp’s expression shifted slightly, the amusement in his eyes turning to something more dangerous. “Really?” He cracked his knuckles, the sound echoing in the room.

“Well, I’m a big, bad marine officer, and you know what we do to pirates.”

I swallowed hard, my throat dry all of a sudden.

“If Y/N’s gonna be a pirate, then so am I!” Luffy suddenly chimed in, his voice full of the same determination that always made him seem ten times more fearless than he actually was.

“Really… my grandson a pirate?” Garp’s voice dropped, a playful yet predatory grin curling on his lips. Without warning, he lunged toward us, arms outstretched.

“Aghh!” Luffy and I both screamed in unison.

“Get back here!” Garp bellowed as we scrambled to our feet, making a run for it.

“Luffy! We gotta split up!” I shouted, looking over my shoulder to see Garp’s massive figure barreling toward us like a charging bull.

Luffy’s eyes lit up. “Right! You go left, I’ll go right!”

“Are you insane?!” I screamed as I bolted toward the trees on the left.

But Luffy was already gone, zigzagging through the bushes with Garp hot on his heels. I ducked behind a rock, my heart pounding as I listened to Garp’s voice grow fainter, then louder again as he yelled in frustration.

“You think you can escape me, huh?!”

I had a moment to breathe before I peeked out from my hiding spot, only to see Luffy barreling past me, with Garp chasing him like a freight train.

“Luffy, you idiot!” I hissed, darting out from behind the rock and heading for the woods.

“Catch me if you can!” Luffy taunted.

“Get back here!” Garp’s roar followed us through the trees.

We had no plan, no strategy—just chaos. But the sound of Garp’s booming voice, along with Luffy’s loud, reckless laughter, made the whole chase feel more like a game.

As we ran through the darkening forest, I realized something.

Maybe I didn’t care about being a marine. Maybe I didn’t care about what my father expected of me. But I sure as hell cared about my freedom. And if it meant running from Garp—well, that was just part of it.

“Come on, Y/N!” Luffy yelled, already ahead of me again.

I ran faster, my muscles aching, but that spark of rebellion kept me moving. Eventually, Luffy and I got caught when Garp’s fist slammed down on both of us, causing a sharp pain and a bump to form on our heads.

“The fist of love,” Garp smirked, walking away and heading back to the village, leaving Luffy and I on the ground in pain.

I groaned, rubbing my forehead, trying to shake off the dizziness. "I swear, one of these days, I'm going to get him back," I muttered under my breath.

Luffy lay next to me, grinning through his own pain. “That was fun, though, right?”

I just rolled my eyes. “You’re insane.”

As time passed, things began to settle. But life with the mountain bandits never got any easier, and neither did the feeling of constant tension between Ace and the rest of us.

Then came the day we learned the truth about Ace.

It started off like any other day. Luffy was being his usual annoying self, blabbering on about something that no one really cared about when Ace suddenly went quiet, his face darkening.

“Ace?” Luffy continued, oblivious to the shift in the atmosphere. “Hey, Ace! Did you know—”

“No!” Sabo cut him off, rushing over. “Don’t say it! Don’t tell him!”

But it was too late.

Luffy had already blurted it out. “Ace is the son of Gol. D. Roger, the King of the Pirates!”

There was a long silence. Even the wind seemed to hold its breath.

Sabo’s eyes widened in panic, his hand flying to his face in disbelief. But Ace’s reaction was far more intense. He shot to his feet, his fists clenched at his sides.

The anger in his eyes was palpable, like a wildfire about to consume everything in its path. “What are you saying, Luffy?” he growled, his voice low and dangerous.

“I—I didn’t mean to—” Luffy stammered, his usual confidence drained in an instant.

“You… You’re an idiot!” Ace snapped, moving toward us in a blur.

Before I could even react, Ace swung his fist at Luffy, knocking him to the ground. “Keep your mouth shut!”

I gasped, stepping back. But it wasn’t just Luffy who felt Ace’s wrath.

Sabo stepped in, trying to shield Luffy. “Ace, stop! That wasn’t what we agreed on!”

“You think I care about agreements?!” Ace’s eyes burned with anger, but there was something else in them too—something I couldn’t quite place.

Sabo, holding his ground, glared back. “You don’t have to do this. You don’t have to hurt us over a mistake.”

But Ace wasn’t listening. His eyes moved to me, and for the first time, I felt the full weight of his rage directed at me. “What are you looking at?” he spat.

I wasn’t going to back down. Not this time. “Nothing, I didn’t say anything, jerk,” I retorted, my voice sharp.

Ace’s face twisted with irritation. Without warning, he reached out and grabbed my ponytail, yanking me forward.

“Owww!” I yelped, struggling against his grip. “Let me go!”

“Say another word, and I’ll pull it harder,” Ace threatened, his tone icy.

I gritted my teeth, resisting the urge to strike back. “You’re such a jerk,” I muttered through clenched teeth, but I didn’t dare move any further. He could see it in my eyes, though—the fire in me hadn’t gone out. It had just simmered down for the moment.

Sabo stepped forward, his face serious now. “Ace, that’s enough. We’re all on the same side here. You don’t need to push everyone away.”

Ace released his grip on my ponytail with a final shove, turning away with a grunt of frustration. “I’m not the one who’s making things harder,” he muttered, clenching his fists.

The tension in the air was suffocating. I looked at Luffy, who was still on the ground, rubbing his cheek with a look of confusion. Then I glanced at Sabo, who was silently observing, probably wondering how to fix this mess.

In that moment, it felt like everything had changed. Ace wasn’t just some cocky, untouchable guy anymore. He was someone with a past he was desperate to hide, someone who carried the weight of the world on his shoulders, even if he didn’t want to admit it.

And maybe, just maybe, I wasn’t as ready to let him walk all over me as he thought. Time passed again, and Ace brought a bottle of sake and four sake cups, making a promise to Luffy and Sabo that they were now honest-to-goodness brothers.

But when I reached out for my cup, Ace knocked it over, spilling the sake all over the ground.

“Hey!” I shouted, frowning as I wiped my hand on my pants.

“Nope, not you.” Ace smirked, clearly enjoying my frustration.

“Like I’d want to be related to... a big stupid jerk like you!” I shot back, crossing my arms over my chest.

Ace just shrugged, still smirking. “Doesn’t matter. You’re not my brother. So, it’s my call.”

Luffy, always the optimist, leaned forward, his big grin infectious. “Hey, Y/N, I’ll drink with you! We can be brothers and sisters!” he said enthusiastically.

“Yeah, me too!” Sabo added, giving me a wink. “We’re all in this together, right?”

I couldn’t help but laugh at how sincere they both were, despite the circumstances. They were a pain in the neck sometimes, but that didn’t change the fact that they were my family, whether Ace wanted to admit it or not.

“Fine,” I said, reaching for my cup again. “But I’m not letting you off that easy, Ace. One day, I’ll make you regret that decision.”

Ace just rolled his eyes but didn’t say anything else, watching me with a look I couldn’t quite read. But I didn’t care. For the first time, it didn’t matter what Ace thought about me. I had my own family now, and no matter what happened, we’d stick together.

But then came the news that shattered everything.

Sabo was dead.

The world seemed to freeze as one of the mountain bandits delivered the news, his words like a punch to the gut. Sabo had been hit by a Celestial Dragon while out on his small boat. The pain, the grief—it all crashed over us in waves. Luffy was beside himself, sobbing uncontrollably, and I tried my best to comfort him, but the tears kept coming. The world had taken something from us, something we couldn’t get back.

"It's okay, Luffy," I whispered, patting his back as he cried.

But it wasn’t okay. Nothing would ever be okay again.

Time passed, and soon we were sixteen, still stuck on the mountain while Ace was already seventeen. He was itching to set out on his own pirate journey, just like Luffy and me. But there was a catch—Garp said I had to stay until I was seventeen, like a damn agreement I couldn’t break. Ace, meanwhile, had already become more... Ace. He was showing off a lot more—his abs, his signature hat, his cargo pants, his boots, and his yellow shirt unbuttoned all the way down. It wasn’t like I was paying attention, but it was hard not to notice the change.

I knew the moment I turned seventeen, I was leaving. I wasn’t going to be held back by some stupid agreement. I’d find my own crew and set out to be a pirate.

But Ace... Ace was always there, always near. I’d find him watching from afar when I was alone, like he was keeping some sort of silent vigil over me, even when everyone else was asleep. It was strange. And I had a feeling he knew I was leaving soon, that the time for pretending I was going to follow orders was almost over.

One night, I found myself sitting on a cliff, staring up at the stars. The cool wind blew through my hair, and I felt a weight on my chest that had been building for years. I needed a change. A fresh start.

So, without thinking, I grabbed my blade and cut my hair short, watching it fall to the ground in pieces, drifting away like the past I was leaving behind.

"Bye-bye, hair," I muttered, almost to myself.

"Why’d you do it?" A voice startled me, and I turned to see Ace standing there, watching me.

I raised an eyebrow, crossing my arms. “Spying on me?”

For a brief moment, I could see the faintest flush of color on Ace's face, and he quickly turned his gaze away, trying to hide it. “It’s not like that,” he muttered, shoving his hands into his pockets.

I smirked, knowing he was hiding something, but I didn’t push it. The silence between us felt... comfortable, almost. Like it had always been this way, the two of us, never fully understanding each other but still existing together.

"You're really going, huh?" Ace said softly, his voice less cocky than usual.

I looked out at the horizon, the stars twinkling above. "Yeah, Ace. I'm leaving. I don’t want to be a marine like my father wants me to be."

Ace didn’t say anything, but I felt his eyes on me. When I turned to look at him, he had that same unreadable expression he always had, but there was something different about it now. Something less distant.

“Don’t screw up out there, Y/N,” he said, his voice rough but... sincere?

I was taken aback for a moment, but then I smiled, the first real smile I’d had in days. "I won’t. And when I’m a pirate, I’ll make you regret not coming with me."

Ace snorted, his usual cocky grin making a return. “Like hell you will.” For the first time, I noticed how his cocky grin reached his eyes, how his signature hat rested just right on his head, and how his freckles, the ones I used to tease him about, seemed to catch the moonlight in a way I hadn’t really paid attention to before.

It was a brief moment, but in that flash, everything about Ace was more vivid than it ever had been. The way he stood, confident and carefree, the way the wind ruffled his hair just slightly, the way he was still… Ace. But there was something softer there too. Something I hadn’t quite seen before, maybe because I had never allowed myself to see it.

“You know, if you weren’t such an ass, I’d say you’ve gotten cuter,” I teased, crossing my arms and narrowing my eyes as I glanced at him. The words slipped out before I could stop them, a little too easily, but I couldn’t take them back now.

Ace froze for a second, his brow twitching slightly as though he hadn’t expected the compliment. His grin faltered just for a heartbeat, his eyes flicking to me as if measuring whether I was joking or serious. Then, that same grin returned, albeit with a slight shift in it, a little less arrogant and a little more... thoughtful.

“Cuter, huh?” he repeated, stepping a little closer, his grin now carrying something new, like he was teasing but also curious.

“I’d hardly say you’re in any position to be calling me cute,” he shot back, the usual smirk on his lips, but there was a spark in his eyes that wasn’t there before. I couldn’t tell if it was just the moonlight playing tricks on me or something else, but for once, I wasn’t sure if I was just teasing or if I was telling the truth.

I shrugged, trying to play it cool. “I’ve got no problem calling you out when I see it. And besides, you’ve got a bit more than just that annoying grin to catch a girl’s eye now.” I couldn’t quite place the words coming out of my mouth, but I didn’t regret them either.

Ace laughed, but it wasn’t his usual carefree laugh. This one had a little more weight to it, like he was processing something he hadn’t really expected. His eyes softened, just for a second, before he flicked his gaze away and adjusted his hat with a casual shrug.

“You’re impossible, you know that?” he said, but there was no venom in it—just a strange sort of fondness that lingered in the air between us.

For a moment, everything fell into silence, and I realized something. Maybe, just maybe, I wasn’t the only one who noticed the change. Maybe Ace, too, had been feeling the shift in us.

Soon, Ace left and Luffy and I stayed for a little longer, but soon it was my turn to leave. I couldn’t stay there, tied to a place that wasn’t my own. I had bigger things to do—bigger dreams to chase. I wasn’t going to let Ace, or anyone else, hold me back.

I traveled from island to island, searching for the best of the best. I wouldn’t settle for anything less than a crew worthy of being called pirates. Slowly but surely, I began to build my crew—a navigator with an uncanny sense of direction, a right-hand man who could wield a sword like a god, and a chef who could cook up a storm.

Soon, I found myself surrounded by more and more people, each one stronger, smarter, and more skilled than the last. They weren’t just part of my crew—they were family. And together, we would take the seas by storm.

Then came the news.

I was sitting in my quarters, flipping through the latest Coo report when I saw it—the headline read, Spade Pirates formed causing havoc!

I couldn’t help but mutter under my breath, “Cocky bastard.”

My right-hand man, Sebastian, who had been sharpening his swords across the room, glanced over. “You know him?”

I laughed, the sound low and almost nostalgic. “Let’s just say he and I go way back.”

Sebastian raised an eyebrow but didn’t ask more. He knew better than to push me for details I wasn’t ready to share. Besides, this wasn’t about Ace anymore. It was about me—and about the crew I was building, the life I was shaping for myself.

But part of me, a small part deep down, couldn’t help but wonder what Ace’s crew was like. If I ever crossed paths with them, I had a feeling things might get interesting.

“Well,” Sebastian said, putting his swords down and walking toward me. “Guess we’ll have to see which of us gets the better crew, huh?”

I grinned, locking eyes with him. “You know it.”

We had no idea what was coming next—but whatever it was, I knew I was ready for it.

Ok so my personal headcannon is (and I’ll admit it doesn’t really fit the fuck nasty vibe of ur tumblr) is that monkey ds have a habit of just spawning into existence and for them a partner to do so is optional. Garp was ‘found’ by his parent in a dog kennel on a marine base he visited. Pre rocks death garp spawned dragon in the middle of a fight with either roger or rocks or both (and that it was either of them kinda contributed to dragons innate fuck the government style). And dragon spawned luffy in a huge storm at sea juuuuuust when the sun broke through the clouds.

And it leads to a really funny circumstance that luffy will sometimes comment “I hope I don’t get my child before I become pirate king.” And the straw hats are really confused and maybe even try to explain why it’s probably not gonna happen but ultimately don’t get what luffy is trying to say and never will until luffys child appears someday. Which is gonna be a shock.

It also royally screws up aces understanding of where babies come from despite being a slut until deuce managed to clear that up

[Camera flashes to a cork board with pins and string connecting imagines of people labeled MIA. Across from it is Lemon, observing the information with a steady glare as tense music plays.] “Just what in hell’s name does she want with them…”

[Lemon slams his hand onto the desk with his teeth gritted]

[Screen goes black before a sliver is out into view by King taking out a book from the shelf in front of the camera’s few. A wideshot of the room comes to screen as he walks off. King glances over to Valentino.] “You said you were briefly part of the scheme?” [Valentino simply nods as King walks over and grabs his shoulder tightly.] ”Spill what you know.”

[The screen goes black again until Sofia turns on a light, flipping through photos with me crossing out names.] “We lost our best way of getting King…”

[I mutter bitterly, sharply looking up to Sophia] “Well, I have another plan that may work even better…”

[Sofia starts to explain her plan as his words are muffled out by the screen fade.]

[Camera flashes to Khushi then Jokest3r then Teabagtoes, all with various looks of shock or disbelief on their face] “Give him back…”

[Khushi’s words have a subtle echo as the tense music crescendos to words on the screen saying “Revolutionary storytelling & plot” by New York Times]

[Camera shows Arjun desperately trying to escape before being tied back with a rope around him. Vincent looks at him and their captors fearfully while Mayvey has a scheming look on his face. Arjun’s hoarse yelling attempts continue into hysterics as the camera shows another review “Shows a dark side with new characters.” by Activision]

“We have to get out of here!”

[Queen’s voices pierced through Arjun’s slowly fizzled out yelling as she looks between Ace and Sofia with a serious gaze. Jack walks closer and hands a letter from King to Queen.]

“Hell. On. Earth.”

[The music becomes subtle, adding a clicking noise. Ace states each word coldly as the camera shows Lemon’s board again. He turns, looking at Sergeant Kennedy] “Are you sure we can even do this?”

[Kennedy asks with furrowed eyebrows] “Shiloh… he have to at least try.”

[Lemon responds before the camera flashes white to the screen, showing a series of shots while the music becomes louder than ever; Jack setting a match on fire, Roger crying as he gives Kennedy a gentle hug, King writing a letter, Ace laying in a boat, Jokest3r & Trabagtoes talking over coffee, & Valentino pinning a photo of “The Squad” to the cork board.] [The camera zooms into the photo before flashing to a gun in Sofia’s hand that is pointed to the camera. The music stops.] “I never wanted it to end this way.”

[She says just above a whisper before the camera goes black at the piercing sound of a gunshot. The title appears on screen as eerie music plays…]

Luffy x Nami: A thread Part 1

Disclaimer: This is very long so be prepared to take some time & also if you haven't watched/read One Piece at all then don't read this if you don't want to read spoilers. Firstly I'd like to adress all the people who dont believe in a love romance in One Piece aswell as those who are against this ship or do ship Luffy and Nami with different characters: Please read the thread thoughoutly and don't jump to conclusions before you read everything. I will try to mention all of the issues that are underlying in regards to general things like love romance in One Piece and I want to consider counter arguments and create hypotheses in sight of other pairings like Luffy x Boa and Sanji x Nami (which I think are the other main ships when it comes to Luffy and Nami). So it is important to be a little patient through all of this thread.

Let's start off with the question about love romance in One Piece... ''D: Doesn't anyone on Luffy's crew fall in love? Will there never be a tale of on-board romance? (Sanji is an exception in this case) I'm just wondering. -From Naoko- O: But they do... They're all in love...WITH ADVENTURE. (← good one)'' This is exactly the part of the SBS where Oda answered the question about romantic love in the Strawhat Crew. Firstly, this is obviously meant as a silly statement. It is definetly no confirmation but to see this as a serious statement is overexagerrating. Secondly, Oda wanted to answer this question by dodging it without nullifying it. What does that mean? He could have just simply said, there is no romance in One Piece and there never will be (this wouldn't be the first time that he would have answered a question in a direct and serious way). But no, he wanted to make sure that the audience understands that there is a difference between romantic love and romance (in an adventure) and that the Strawhats are on a journey of a romantic adventure which has nothing to do with loving each other in a romantic way. There are two reasons for that: -One Piece is a pure shonen/action Manga and it's target audience are teenage boys (at least this was the case when he made that statement, i don't know how that might have changed by now maybe) -For the other reason just imagine One Piece if there was active love romance going on...we wouldn't be near the story that we are now. Let's just say it would add so much more complications, to put it very simple (I don't want to go into that deep now). But now here comes the clue: All of this doesn't mean that Oda completely lefts love romance out. Because despite of all the points that I just mentioned there are pairings and there is also subtle (no explicite) love romance. Lets just look at the pairings, these are all pairings that I think the majorty of people wouldn't question: -Kaya and Usopp -Sabo and Koala -Shanks and Makino -Shakky and Rayleigh -Roger and Rouge -Oden and Toki

And yes none of these cases showed the love story between those people (maybe Kaya and Usopp if you really want) but THAT IS THE POINT! Only because Oda doesn't let the characters speak out ''i love you'' or makes them kiss all of the time doesn't mean there isn't any kind of romantic love connection between characters in One Piece (the kiss on WCI was an exeption though). This also doesn't mean that there is no possibilty of romance between the Strawhats. I get it that people see them as a familiy, and they truly are one. If there was romance between two of them during the story of One Piece the dynamic wouldn't be the same anymore, especially if there was a canon relationship between Luffy as the captain/ main protagonist and another crewmember. I mean we don't want to see Luffy prefering one nakama over the other. If he calls for his friends, he calls for everyone and not firstly for the person he's in love with. They are all equally as important as the others. But you have to remeber that they aren't blood-related and it wouldn't be weird at all if some of them are ending up together after the adventure of the One Piece. That's the reason why the hints that are given by Oda are really hints, not just merely coincidence.

And i wouldn't be here if Oda didn't hint Luffy and Nami in the past and he will hint them in the future or even more. Let's beginn chronologically with the bond-forming between Luffy and Nami and why their relationship is special EAST BLUE SAGA -Nami was intended as a crew-member from the very beginning, even before One Piece was existing. That's the reason why Luffy and Nami saw each other in the first episode of One Piece. It was to pay hommage to Silk/Ann the heroines of the Romance Dawn Manga. (Just read into it if you want to know more) But what's important is that they were the inspiration for Nami as a character/ as the heroine.

-Orange Town: Luffy and Nami meet for the first time in the Manga Nami reveals her goal to Luffy - which is ''to buy a certain village'' (keep this in mind) Luffy tells Nami why the strawhat is so dear to him - he won't be telling anyone afterwards these details again -Nami tricks Luffy. Buggy captures him but when Nami is forced to fire a canon ball at Luffy she refuses, starts a fight against all the Buggy-Pirates and finally at the risk of her own life she burns her hands facing the pirates with her back in order to prevent the canonball to blow up Luffy (she does quite much for this pirate guy she just met) - you see that at this point Luffy did touch something in Nami's heart because when they have to escape she literally instantly fires the canonball at Buggy without hesitation. -Nami sewing Luffy's damaged hat. Since then it's always her who takes care of it if it takes any damage/ if there is something to sew in it like Ace's Vivre Card. Now I want to put in here my first hypothetical compairison for the LuBoa and SaNa shippers. Just imaging now this same situation happening between Luffy and Boa. Luffys hat is ripped apart - maybe she knows that Luffys hat is his treasure maybe not but lets imagine she does know. She will of course sew it, would probably blush and say something romantic about her doing this for him. And as a shipper this would be the most romantic thing for you wouldn't it? In reality it is Nami who precisely watches Luffy and understands the importance of his hat to him, she goes up to him and fixes his strawhat, with the only difference that it is just more natural and less lovey-dovey from Nami's part (because of course she would never act like that if she was in love with someone). I am already asking you now, which lovestory sounds more believable? -Syrupp Village: There are a few cute moments (Nami catches Luffy and cheers on him and so on...) but i wanted to especially point out that these two are are sitting/lying on the ground after the fight and Nami playes with the Strawhat, Luffy is of course unbothered. But this already shows how comfortable these two are at this point, they know each other only for a few days now. And also this image of them two talking and sitting together is a theme that continues throughout One Piece. -Namis leaves with the Going Merry, looking devestated that she has to leave ''Luffy and the others'', and Luffys reaction after Zoro says to just leave her: ''I want her to by our navigator no matter what'' (These words are enough, no comment needed and also look at Zoro's face as Luffy is stating these words) -Kokoyashi Village: Luffy already trusts and knows Nami so well that he is enraged to hear that she allegedly killed Usopp - the others are sure that she did it but Luffy insists, and even when Nami confirmes to him that she indeed sent Usopp to the ocean's ground Luffy refuses to accept it and immediatly goes to sleep. (I'm sure it's because he knew that something was wrong but he knew he had to wait for Nami to come up to him)

-The famous moment hits different (for shippers and non-shippers): Luffy giving Nami his precious strawhat! He wants to show her how much she is dear to him, his gives her his treasure because now she's his treasure too (and you can see this in a romantic way or in a platonic way but just remember that Luffy never did this ever to anybody in the past or in the future) Now i want to mention something that i said earlier: people often say that Luffy didn't care about Namis story but let me tell you something different. Luffy already knew what Nami's obejectif was (to buy a certain village) now Luffy also knows that there is a pirate called Arlong and when Nami is stabbing herself she shouts his name in devastion. Luffy is not dumb, he understood already some parts of Nami's history - later when he is in Nami's room he understands the impact even more. It is so far from truth that Luffy doesn't know Namis story, he may not know some details, but he could conntect enough points to understand Nami's pain. And my personal theory is that he didn't wanted to hear Nojikto telling Nami's story because maybe Nami wouldn't have wanted him to hear it and it could certainly be that he knew that maybe he couldn't hold himself back and intervene before Nami asked him to do so and finally rely on him! -Genzo and Luffy's conversation: just read/watch it - it is a father to boyfriend conversation (i thought so even before i shipped LuNa) So far these are the most important moments for the East Blue Saga, and of course there are other things you could mention but i just wanted to point out the key moments that really built their relationship and created the whole fundament. Since I don't know when I can continue writing on this, I am just going to show some colourspreads which contain hints in my opinion. (Like Nami being represented as a queen, or Nami holding and wearing Luffy’s hat)

Chapter 8: Lilligan The Siren!! Whitebeard's Only Daughter!

"You have a daughter, Newgate??" Roger asked, shocked. Rayleigh groaned at that.

"Roger, you have a son, so you're not one to talk."

"Good point..."

Lilligan felt incredibly self-conscious and buried her face into Ace's neck, hiding her red face.

Ace held her close, rubbing her back. He sighed.

"Guys, i think you're overwhelming her..."

Julia finally had her hands on her lexicon thanks to Thalassa in the past. She was reading her book when she realized something.

There was no spell to bring people back. She would have to make one.

Moving around the room where she was practicing a time travel spell without anything ill effects. Practicing on fruit was easy... she needed a living thing. Too bad Buggy wasn't here.

Sabo gently knocked on her door. She acknowledged him in, surprised to see him.

"Sabo? What can i do for you? Im a little busy..."

"I know... but I'm sure you need a guinea pig for your spell, right? Let me be that guinea pig."

"Are you sure? I can't guarantee there won't be any effects."

"Im sure. I need to see Zara...to be there for her. And my brothers especially..."

"I'll have to do a time swap. Swap you out for someone... luckily, i know just who to switch you out with. I need the clown back as he's usually my guinea pig."

"Im ready when you are."

Julia nodded, directing him to the magic circle. She started chanting the spell she had now memorized. Sabo felt nauseous before blacking out for a quick second before realizing he wasn't in the Cross Guild. And he was on the island of Sphinx.

Buggy had wondered how on earth he ended up with this bunch on an island he knew as Sphinx. Roger talked about this place in his early days as a pirate. He also knew Whitebeard was from here. But how he ended up with Garp, Bonk Punch, a monkey named Monster and Chopper... At least he wasn't stuck with Crocodile and Mihawk.

Though he felt a pang of guilt as he knew Constella would be stuck with his paperwork again. She threatened to leave if she was stuck with his work again. Truth be told, he fancied her a lot.

Buggy thought of maybe asking her out and maybe even marriage. But he was way too chicken to do so.

"Chopper, i think we need a boat." Garp said suddenly.

"Whaaaa?? Why do we need a boat??" Chopper looked at him bewildered.

"We need to get out of here. I got word from Koby that there's an island south of Baterilla that everyone is meeting up at." He said, serious for once.

He looked at Buggy, then suddenly Buggy was gone and in his place was Sabo...wait...Sabo?!

"Sabo?? How can this be? I thought you were dead..." Garp said quietly.

"No, i survived... Dragon took me in and saved me." Sabo said.

"Well, i got word everyone is meeting on an island called Takida. We need to get there. It shouldn't be more than a days sail. How is it in the present?"

"Everyone is scared. We have an alliance with everyone affected."

"Really? Surprised Akainu even agreed."

Sabo shrugged. "I dont know what the Marine thought process is."

Nami had been eyeing the small orange haired child sleeping in Robin's lap since they arrived in Takida. It felt heavily familiar to her.

"Robin, who is that? She's been in your lap since you arrived."

Robin chuckled. "This is Mirai. She's the one who sent us back in time, although she didn't want to, nor is this her correct timeline."

"She's the one who sent us back?? But she's not from this timeline??" Nami said, surprised.

"Nope. She's from a kingdom called Oykot. She doesn't remember much, but remembers having a little sister with brown eyes and orange hair." Robin said gently.

"Oykot...why does that name ring a bell to me...?" Nami tapped her chin.

Elswhere on the island, Shay walked with Older Shanks. He was telling her about his tales, especially how he lost his arm. Shay looked concerned, especially.

However, they weren't the only ones on this island. They had been engrossed in conversation when Shay made a noise of pain.

Shanks looked quickly, only to widen his eyes.

"SHAY!!"

Achlys was defending the ship and young shanks and Buggy. They had suddenly been ambushed.

"Of all the times, i dont have Rayleigh or Roger. Or even Gaban." She gritted her teeth, clashing steel with the enemy.

Everyone was being attacked. The Elysium Pirates were defending themselves as well. They were here for something. What or who were they here for?

Robin and Nami realized what that was. They were here for Mirai. Persephone realized this as well.

"ELYSIUM PIRATES DEFEND ROBIN AND NAMI!" She called her order out. Soon, everyone understood why.

Achlys was starting to tire out. She didn't know how much longer she could hold them back. She suddenly felt a foot kick her in the stomach and send her into the wall. Coughing blood upon impact, she laid on the ground, barely moving.

"Miss Achlys!!" Buggy and Shanks called out

Rayleigh felt something. There was a tension in the air. Roger and Whitebeard felt it, too. "Roger, something is wrong..." Gaban said, unease in his voice.

"Yes... something is off." Whitebeard muttered.

Then they heard it. Shanks and Buggys cries.

"MISS ACHLYS!!" The cries sounded terrified. That sent Rayleigh running towards the ship.

Suddenly, something shot at him, causing him to dodge it with his observation haki.

"Roger, we are under attack!!" Rayleigh yelled back.

Roger nodded, pulling out his sword.

Ace and Lilligan battled, having each others backs. The enemy came out of nowhere.

"How are there so many of them??" Lilligan breathed out. She was getting tired.

"Hang in there, Lilli!" Ace called back. He was getting exhausted, too.

The enemies managed to get to where Robin, Nami, and Mirai were hiding. Mirai hiding while they battled off people.

"Now now, hand over the damn brat, and we won't leave too many casualties.." Armaros's voice darkly grumbled.

"You dont even need her anymore! Leave her alone!!" Nami yelled.

"Oh, i still need her. She still has her devil fruit powers and ran away. We aren't finished, especially with that damn witch interfering."

"You arent getting her! Mirai is just a child!"

"Oh my, attached are we? That's to be expected, with a sibling bond and all. She is your older sister." Armaros stated, causing Nami to freeze.

"My...older...sister?" She said in disbelief.

Mirai suddenly screeched in fear. Armaros found her.

"Anyways, i got what i needed. Bye now! Hahahaha" he laughed before disappearing.

"Shit! Come on!"

Roger and the other made it back, but the damage was already done. Rayleigh beelined for the Oro Jackson. Achlys was his worry.

He found Achlys in pretty nasty shape, but she was alert and talking to Shanks. Buggy was bandaging up best he could. Current timeline Marco had his hands full, helping his past self.

Suddenly, they heard Older Shanks scream for help. Hongo took off running along with older Marco. They saw Shay in his arms.

"Please help! She's not breathing, and she's bleeding heavily!"

REQUESTS FORM

I have decided to make a staggered request form for people to submit things to a spreadsheet :3. If you like my writing, then feel free to throw ideas at me. I am getting a little too many asks and requests to keep it organized, so I made a sheet to submit! Love all the stuff I get, and im jumping between them. Thinking about to go back to lawlu but also keep it open for all other characters XD

I am organizing the non-anon requests I have gotten. If you submitted a lawlu request to me and I didn’t acknowledge it, submit it again. I will clear my queue currently and start new.

The only request that I have from Lawlu in my notes, is the Lawlu daycare one, everything else is being removed from my list. The reason is its not something I vibed with at this time. Thanks everyone who did make a request. That doesn’t mean you can’t submit it again! I am all for checking them out again, if they follow the new rules!

I have four works in my queue, which are Garling/Roger (on chapter 2), two twincest requests (half way through on both) and Killingham/Shamrock/Sommers (500 ish words in)

Anybody who is rude or entitled about my time spent doing these requests, gets blocked. Immediately. I do this for free (for the most part, as such i do not owe anyone anything if i decide not to do a request, you can always ask me why i dropped it and we can go from there. I may be blunt, but i dont bite XD)

Hello hi uh i hope you are doing well and are staying safe and sanitized during this whole pandemic, um I hope the matchup is still up, if not my apologies uh ig I'll get started :) (platonic or romantic is fine by me, I dont mind either or cuz I honestlydont know what I want heh...ya..) My name is Dioceline (any pronoun is fine by me but people usually go with (she/they), my nickname is Dio or Small as most of my online friends call me. I have been told that I'm very impulsive and funny but im also emotional and I stand up for what I think is right and know when to be serious. I usually take the lead of things if no one else feels comfortable enough to deal with it which has landed me into some trouble in the past but id do it again for my friends because frankly I love and appreciate them and I make sure they know it by drawing them things they love or write poems about what I love about them and what I find beautiful about them every couple of weeks. Im not very big on socializing in person but I'm very bubbly and eager to meet people online (my socialbattery does brain pretty fast so I I ti take a quick nap or go on YT for a bit before I can go back to being stupid), I'm shy at first in person but the longer you get to know me I start to get annoying and very touchy feely cuz I'm ✨touch starved✨. Im 5'7 and a half and I like to flex that I'm taller than most of my family because its known that Mexicans/Hispanics are short asf. I am a Capricorn but I don't really feel connected to my sign so I'll give you my enneagram and my mbti! I'm an Infp-T and my ennegram is 2 wing 1. My music taste is all over the place at all times and I listen to anything as long as the lyrics speak to me or the instruments sound good asf (guitars are my favorite instrument, any type of instrument with strings speak to my soul) but I have been listening to a lot of old rock singers/bands recently like Queen, AC/DC, Hombres G, ABBA, Roger Taylor, Bon Jovi, and a lot of other singers/bands. Now since I've been the middle child of 5 other siblings before my little brother was born I have developed a strange humor, it's very mixed and changes a lot but I adapt and go with the flow of anything as long as it makes people happy and laugh. I usually flirt in very awkward ways like throwing horrid pickup lines at friends or pulling the fuckboy face while saying that they look like the snack that smiles back. It's a form of breaking the ice with a people after ive concluded that I want them in my life cuz idk why but I do so ya (in a platonic way ofc). I tend to get a little overprotective and take the parenteral roll when I hear that one of my friends haven't ate or is being insulting and ir being made uncomfortable. Now for appearance, I smile with my eyes, have a cupid's bow and I have lip asymmetry on my left lip. I have a lot of beauty marks on my face and arms, I have dark brown hair and eyes. I'm on the curvier side, I have really big thighs and my chest is pretty big to so it makes it look like I have somewhat of an hourglass figure which is cool ig. I usually wear shorts and baggy sweaters that are 2 times to big for me, most of my clothes is black except for a couple of red and grey shirts/sweatshirts that I have in my closet. I love music, drawing, painting and pretty much anything to do with art. I also really like Chemistry/Science, English, and Philosophical talks, I like learning about the ocean and space but im to scared to actually go into the ocean and my family never really goes out cuz money issues and stuff but it's nice to see it on the internet. I also really enjoy the company of animals and plants :) ok I think that is all, sorry it was so long I tend to ramble and say things that aren't necessary. OH idk if this would help at all but I want to be a family therapist and will be joining the army next year after I graduate so I can get my degree without getting into terrible debt. Living Dreams (Maikusakabe) - Canon-timeline!Marco wakes up two years in the past. Before Whitebeard died. Before Ace died. Before Thatch died. He doesnt handle it well. // I dont even know where to start this is a bundle of some of my favorite tropes in one completed fic. The angst, the disbelief, the denial– it’s perfect. I’m in love

Inanition (Taizi) - small fic about how Luffy’s body works differently than his crewmates. // Short, and yet I keep coming back to it. It’s unebelievably sweet, and the tension of things left unsaid and suppressed anger out of worry is incredible.

Beginning the Next Dream (RikoJasmine) - Future!Luffy gets reborn as his own uncle, Garp’s kid and Dragon’s little brother. This changes a lot, esp. the ASL future. // Its still sort of in the beginning and already has 50k and my Heart I s2g every chapter i see updated makes me have to take a moment to calm down before I read it. Really worth the read. Very soft and sweet with the family vibes, and Luffy is a Hysterically overpowered child with haki.

Guardian (Petiteneko) - Zoro’s POV for pre-post Dressrosa, and how Law slowly, quietly works through his frankly suicidal revenge plan. Includes lulaw // Im weak for outsider!POV mental health and trauma fics. That’s really all you need to know tbh

Acclimating (Justira) - Luffy may be the outspokenly crazy one, but he hand-picked his crew and the rest of the Strawhats are just as on his bullshit despite what they say. Law is struggling through a very nosy crew. // Similar to the fic above, Law trying to leave himself to his own self-harming tendencies and the Strawhats collectively having None Of It.

Lionheart (cyan96) - Past!Law and Corazon get dumped into canon-timeline!Law’s submarine after a devil fruit incident. Trauma everywhere. // Manages to be funny and heartbreaking at exactly the same time! Lots of deeply buried trauma manifested suddenly and overwhelmingly. Incredible.

The Games (Stormy1x2) - Humorous little fic about the Whitebeard’s participating in a sort of public-sport game, in which Ace volunteers and has a great time throwing shenanigans everywhere. // very cute!! another outsider!POV type as its in Marco’s POV while Ace runs around and is just excited and adorable.

Older Brother’s Insight (Abyssal_one) - short fic about Older-brother!Luffy and Younger-brother!Ace w/ the Whitebeards // short and sweet! Im a sucker for role switch AUs and this one really highlights Luffy’s own eccentric sort of capabilities.

Portgas D. Anne and the War of Shirts (glowingjellyfishtreelights) - Anne just doesnt like shirts. this has nothing to do with anyone else. // it’s Really funny. also incredibly accurate.

Into Flame (Kurgaya) - Phoenix!Zoro, and the art of Not Actually Being Human But Never Saying That. // includes Zolu! Which usually isnt my jam, but im All Over non-human!AUs and this one is incredible. Zoro has three pairs of wings. Three. That’s wicked.

Pardus (ImperialMint) - A devil fruit materializes Ace’s worst fear. Which means he’s returning to the Moby Dick with Gold Roger himself at his heels. // funny, sad, and cute all at once. Cute family affection moments, lots of Ace being emotionally hurt and confused.

Legacy (Anjelle) - Ace died and was sent back, all the way back to when his dad still was a pirate on the Oro Jackson. // Lots of emotional turmoil and childhood trauma neatly tied up with some cathartic mental revaluation ;)

Paperwork of a Phoenix (ventusleone) - Marine!Marco and Marine!Izo happen to meet the Whitebeards during their downtime, every now and then, and, well, its not like theyre on duty. // Recently was completed! Slowburn platonic found-family vibes, a lot of Marco biting off more than he can chew and essentially being adopted in the process.

Tension Headache and Migraine (JuHuaTai) Marco overworks himself and accidentally snaps at his crewmates, including Ace. // Very tense in the beginning and smooths out to something apologetic and softer. Has some nsfw in the end, overall Fanastic lmao

Tomorrow Never Happens (Midnightluck) - Sabo pickpockets the wrong marine and gets caught. Which sucks on a normal day, except this one is huge, and burly, and an admiral, and apparently his grandfather. // humorous and slightly angsty all at once! Another Sabo-Gets-His-Memories-Back-Canon-Divergence type story, because I am simple and predictable and it’s still fantastic.

Blue Moon (MyLadyDay) - Werewolf!Marco protects the forest. It just so happens that (Witch?)Ace does so too. // Has some very quiet vibes I really dig, very calm and makes me think of a deep grey-blue color for some reason. Like Full moonlight through the trees. Very cute
