some of my (mostly qFit) headcanons because I don't think I've made one of these posts before

i remember making a post about this aaaaaages ago, but in my mind 2b is a prison dimension . Everyone who lives there either committed some kind of terrible crime in another world and was sent there, or was born there via two "inmates". That's why everyone sucks there, and it's also why fit being able to escape via madagio's portal was a big deal . You're not supposed to be able to escape.

I believe that fit in his young adulthood was a journalist on another world who was fascinated by and trying to find information on this prison dimension, but ended up getting sent there as punishment for prying. This is why he became a historian while there, cause he was always trying to study the place anyway. It's also why he's nicer than the average person there.

Demons in this world are either born or created through immense sin. I like to think that because of that a large portion of the population of 2b are demons. Like a LOT . That's why fit was so normal about mouse openly being a demon when most other people were canonically weirded out by it. He's just used to seeing and being around them.

Warning for a darker subject here, but I do think that some people believing QFit was a virgin comes from an inherent mischaracterisation of that server. Yes it's very violent and hostile, but there are also very close knit alliances and established groups, and another big part of the culture is the general degeneracy. We already have a pretty reliable real world idea of what happens when a bunch of nonetheless homophobic men are put into the same inescapable area at once, and it's prisons. I believe that's another big reason why living there is so nasty. I won't go into any more detail than that.

↑fit is nonetheless still very repressed. It is faaar from encouraged to be openly gay there. There is a big difference between doing something because you "have to" and liking it

I believe that 2b, either intentionally or unintentionally, has an effect on its inhabitants' ageing. Essentially it makes them immortal but not invulnerable. If you shoot or stab them, sure, they'll die. But if left alone, they won't age past their prime or die of natural causes. qFit is the age he appears to be, early 30s, but in ten or so years if he was still alive it would begin to be noticeable that he hadn't got any older looking after that.

I also believe the eggs, because they are either partially or fully dragon, are the same way. Immortal but not invulnerable.

The immortality thing is part of why Phil and fit became such easy friends, they have that in common. The only difference between them - as I have touched on before - is that while phil was blessed by his wife to be immortal, fit was cursed.

Ramón is always wearing a hat for two reasons. The first reason, the one he would tell you, is that it protects his ears from the sounds of his machines. The second reason, the one he'd never admit to anyone, is that he has the exact same curly black hair that spreen had, and he hates that reminder of him.

Speaking of Spreen, I do believe Fit would silently forgive him after finding out his reason for never coming back was that he died.

Fit probably lost his arm during maybe the aureus city era, because if he hadn't had trusted basemates with him during that time he would definitely have died. One of his friends there would have made him his first prosthetic, and it would have been godawful.

I canonise ccfit saying his cubitos arm is a gauntlet and then pivoting to it being a prosthetic as qFit lying. He claimed it was just a gauntlet at first, in order to not reveal his weakness of a missing arm, but then became open about it actually being a prosthetic when he finally accepted that noone on quesadilla was going to use it against him.

Ramón definitely made a new much better arm for Fit after seeing how horrendous his previous one was

For the duration of QSMP pac always portrayed himself as self-conscious and unconfident, but I like to image that before prison he was more of a badass Cool Guy 😎. It was being in prison and losing his leg that truly and almost permanently crushed his spirit and self image. I imagine he consistently sees himself as weaker than others not just because he was unable to fight back against cellbit, but also because of the literal physical ability he lost when the leg was taken.

I never draw him as such because I can never decide on designs for them, but in my mind pac has quite a few tattoos. I imagine he had a full leg tattoo from knee to ankle on the leg that he lost, which he was devastated to realise was gone along with the leg. Cellbit probably targetted that leg on purpose because he thought it'd be funny.

Pac and mike smuggled a radio into the prison with the express purpose of listening to fit's broadcast. Years before he ever knew they'd one day share a bed, pac would fall asleep to the sound of fits voice.

Qpac is bisexual but only ever dated women before prison. It was only being stuck surrounded by a bunch of dudes that made him realise his attraction to them. The reason pac finds himself attracted to dangerous men specifically is because all of the men he first realised he could be attracted to were literal maximum security prisoners.

Conversely, the reason fit finds himself attracted to dangerous men specifically is because he doesn't realise there is any other type of man that exists.

You're gonna kill me for this one, but I do actually headcanon that qpac died at the end of qsmp. There's just no other ending for him that makes sense. He really didn't give us much. I'd think something better if there was a better option

However I 100% believe that Ramón is alive and does one day find a way to reunite with fit, way far off into the future. Probably when he's a fully fledged adult, having raised himself along with the other surviving eggs still on quesadilla.

Pac would have been terrible at cooking, having got way too used to having meals preprepared for him everyday in prison. Fit on the other hand, would be pretty good at it . He's had a decade of experience in having to drum up makeshift meals out of really unattractive, rudimentary and barely edible ingredients. That would translate extremely well to real, normal food. Pac would ask fit one time to make one of his "wasteland struggle meals" for the both of them and he'd be simultaneously impressed that fit managed to make it taste like... something, and also devastated to think that fit had to eat stuff like this every day. Fit would mention that it brought him back to the wasteland, and pac would spend the rest of the day hugging fit and saying he's so so sorry

Contrary to popular belief, I actually think during his time on 2b and when he first arrives on quesadilla, fit would not be particularly muscular. He would have a level of utility muscle, but without proper stable access to food or working out, he'd be on the smaller side. However the second he got access to real and consistent food and a calmer, quieter life on quesadilla, he'd start bulking up. That's the reason he built the gym.

Fit and pac both have PTSD, and sharing a bed is an absolute nightmare for them (no pun intended) as they both wake each other up in the middle of the night because of a night terror extremely frequently after they start dating. They tried sleeping apart again once, but both decided they'd rather be near each other despite the inconvenience.

Fit and pac probably don't cuddle very often when they sleep near each other, as they both value their space and like to feel like they could easily get up and run if they were threatened at night. They also only showed each other physical affection on occasion in canon. They prefer to just be side by side, close enough to hold hands, close enough to know that they're looking out for each other.

Fit probably isn't actually more down bad for pac that pac is for him, he is just more verbal about his love because he was a lot more repressed than pac ever was. Fit feels more of a need to exercise his newfound freedom.

Fit has poor hearing and poor eyesight, but is too stubborn to accept an aid for either of those things.

Pac is pretty badly claustrophobic, thanks to prison.

Ramón is probably autistic.

i think mcyt cc are playing losing game in how they treat dteam. i think they dont understand that a lot of stans, when they are forced to leave for one reason or another, they do leave mcyt space all together. like the moment shit goes down im not interested in watching people who left dteam and even more im not interested in watching people who were so tryhard to see their downfall. i know it happens sometimes people just switching ccs but even looking at the numbers, mine and craft is not as popular as it was 2 or 3 years ago. and sure the big boom happened during pandemic and we now live in different reality but i think that a lot of people just leaves and when they leave upset, they want it all gone from their lives. like i cant imagine tapping into jm stream after dropping dt like ever. i regularly block and mute ccs that i just dont want to see in my recommendations. there's also a whole thing of how they act in general. its not about that they finally proved to me that dt are evil people but bc how they treated past situations - usually in an awful way

im thinking about it bc i recently watched matpat final game theory and he actually talked about it in his vid. he mentioned how yt is is a game in which everyone can win through collaboration - ironically he even used qsmp as an example! and as contrast he mentioned beauty community that started fighting between themselves to gain viewers and steal them from other youtubers. and by the end every watcher was fed up with this behaviour and they left all together. and i wouldnt be surprised if mcyt wasnt on the same path. people mostly watch ccs for entertainment not to be involved in drama constantly. and when never ending discourse just keep happening they move to another thing that is less draining. and this is what is happening with mcyt. not only dt is losing views but every single cc in that group as well

Final thoughts on the Qsmp finale: I think it was incredibly disappointing and disrespectful at every turn, and as with many things in the qsmp I think they could have put in 100x less effort for 100x more reward.

I wish they had just let the islanders freely roam around and say goodbye to their old builds instead of forcing them into a weird and unrelated mini game. For gods sake, Pac and Fit never made it to Chume Labs to see it one last time.

The museum was nice but how about crediting all the people who made those models and assets that were on display? Contrasted with the properly credited fanart it really showed how little the studio values its workers.

It's clear to me that they cared more about getting in that final spectacle (I think there's a good chance a lot of those assets and mobs were originally made for purgatory 3) and leaving the story open for a possible QSMP 2 than actually giving their ccs a chance to give their characters an ending. Watching it all I couldn't help thinking, was the person who built this paid? Was this cinematic made by someone who was compensated for their time? Did the studio give them enough time to make these or was it, as shown before, a rushed and stressful process with an impossible deadline?

The egg video in particular was in incredibly poor taste. After all that the egg admins went through, letting them go without even a thank you let alone actually properly crediting them and paying them, then to just choose their ending for them? Using not just the models (was the person who made those paid?) but aspects of the personalities that the egg admins developed (Ramon's meathead, pepitos plushie, etc)? Come on.

The finale was, and I say this with all possible negative connotations, very in character for a studio that has repeatedly shown that it cares more about visuals and the next big thing than anything else, including the admins and ccs that make it possible. It was flat and convoluted and the only thing that made it watchable was as always the talent and versatility of the players.

I hope there is no qsmp 2. I really do. I don't think it's worth it to keep this brand alive after all the people who have been hurt by it. I'd love to see another server use the real-time translation mod, I'd love to see most of this group of creators make something together, but I don't think it should be under quackity or his studio's control. They've clearly shown that they cannot be trusted to treat their workers properly, to support this big of a project, or to be focused on making a place for creators to tell their own stories the way they want to.

i've seen in twitter that qsmp is making merch, they released trump, i laughed by myself because they're going to be selling an egg called trump. i named him trump because the series had a massive wall, my brain made a connection in that moment: "ok if there's a wall there has to be someone called trump". and now they're going to sell an egg for real called trump. another piece of qsmp lore where i contributed.

he also jokes that trump's wish was to build a bigger wall than the one the qsmp built. and that if quackity or merch person changes the name to trumpet just because they’re afraid of success he's gonna be disappointed. (/j !)

chat also asks if he's gonna get some % but he says that if there's someone that should get it is the one that played as trump! that he shouldn't get anything.

So I’ve had this au idea that I’m sure has been thought of b4 that the entire team of Bolas got stuck behind (maybe minus Phil) instead of just Baghera and Cellbit

I have this whole thing about what like items would be used to hunt the participants down each member would use and kind of what each of their masks would look like/resemble

CELLBIT

Uses a machete/knife weapon

Mask looks very similar to the mask he wore in the purg 2 livestream, a half-mask deal covering the lower part of his face with like cool black and red motifs like the armor + little spikes. He has goggles that match as well

Craziest out of the bunch. He’s having a blast

BAGHERA

She still has a chainsaw. I feel if I were to take it away it would be a crime + she would definitely not let me even if I tried

Her mask is a debate between a half mask like Cellbit w/o goggles or like a duck mask with a big window for the eyesight type deal because I still can’t decide what her actual design looks like (like human or anthro duck)

If not for the rest of the pack, she’d definitely be the most insane. But thanks to them being present in this au she’s in second place behind Cellbit

FOOLISH

I’ve thought about what he’d use a little bit and came up with the idea of him using drills and bombs to get to players. Not sure if I’m 100% on this but it fits his building obsession. Maybe he uses these to access hunted down players that are underground/hiding?

Shark mask. 100% a shark mask. I’ve seen really cool fanart of him with a shark gas mask. He deserves it.

His insanity is mediocre. Probably, ranking all of them from most insane to least, Foolish is in spot #4. He’s still pretty crazy tho

SLIME

I’ve come up with a cool concept of Slime using something similar to the gas event that happens where he uses a gas release type thing. If you’ve ever seen that one enemy in the Outlast: Trials game that releases the insanity gas when he attacks a player its similar to that but much more extreme. Plus this gas is flammable and toxic to breathe in (except if you’re in the Bolas pack bonded cult because they snorf that shit up for breakfast).

Another thing I’ve thought of for Slime is something to revolve around his code abilities. I think it’d be neat if he could somehow track other players using these abilities and that’s how Bolas finds players. (Maybe by the end of it he could do some funky shit that notifies Philza to their location, maybe by sending him cords or something over like those radio/phone/communication device looking things I’ve seen fanart of for the residents of Quesadilla Island 👀). I can also see him going feral and going after Bad as payback :)

His mask looks like the one in the final purg 1 stream with the big eye window. Maybe some other funky green tubing or something with the gas?

3rd most insane. Have you heard his laugh when he’s doing a literal insane bit?? I am to be able to act that crazy sometimes :)

JAIDEN

Hard to say if she survives the nuclear blast like in canon in this au, but if she does live she’d be our resident arsonist! I’d imagine she and Slime team up often for maximum damage and explosions. Plus arson just feels like something a Jaiden in this type of au would think is fun.

Her mask, like a lot of fanart shows, looks like a parrot plague doctor mask with gas mask elements. But, like her v-tuber during purg 1, I think having her mask looks like the Bolas logo is a great option too. Maybe a combination of both?

A bit less insane than Foolish, but just as traumatized as b4 :)

CARRE

Gun. For the sillies. Only person who gets a gun. If we’re being serious, I’m not entirely sure what he’d have due to only knowing him from the vague points I saw of him during purg 1, but I think maybe a combat knife could work?

Either a regular ass gas mask or like some N95

The chillest person there. Probably still a bit crazy, but at least he’ll be hanging out.

I think by the end of purg 2 (I’ll have to look into this, I wasn’t there for live purg 2), the pack will have killed a bunch of the players, if not all of them. I don’t know much about the lore with like, anyone in purg 2 (only Baghera, Cellbit, the outcome of what happened with Sneeg’s character and the winner of the event), but I think it’d be fun if Sneeg’s character had a role too :)

So by the end, someone (most likely Slime in this au) would find Sneeg all mutated and stuff from the radiation. If we are going with Slime here, he probably will feel pity and have him stay with Bolas even though Sneeg’s very aggressive and dangerous. Probably a couple days later is when they are rescued by Philza, Sneeg goes with them and stays with Phil. I like the au’s I’ve seen here on tumblr of q!Sneeg just being chill/relatively calm when around only Phil and I want to implement that into this au :)

Maybe Sneeg starts to heal, if only a tiny bit, and is fine around the eggs (I can see Phil going like “We don’t attack the eggs, Sneeg. Eggs = nice and good and fragile” and Sneeg just going “:|” “:)” )

I am having q!tubbo brain rot so have a slice of it.

I am so curious as to which direction Tubbo will take his character. Because nothing what q!tubbo does seems malicious or sometimes even intentional yet so many people take issue with him or his behaviour. And he is somewhat aware of that while at the same time, completely oblivious as to why or how deep the conflict goes.

You have the federation who cannot stand his arse. Who we know is paying extra attention to Tubbo and wants to arrest him the minute he even does something slightly illegal. While they have not arrested him yet, it is only a matter of time. So what do they do in the meantime? They use him as a scapegoat to nerf certain game mechanics or punish him extra harshly in comparison to others who did the exact same things or worse. Yet for some reason, the other qsmp members are under the impression that Tubbo never gets punished and that he is solely to blame for the create nerf, breeding animosity.

Then next, you have the antagonistic fights with Etoiles which started carefree and rather playful but now have been escalating in q!Etoiles telling the codes that Tubbo works with the federation. To be honest, Tubbo is absolutely partly to blame for this one with his cheeky comments to Etoiles about losing his fight with the code. However, it adds another dynamic layer of conflict to the situation.

Finally, you have the vendetta of Bad and Aypierre against Tubbo due to the controversial Tubhole. You can argue all day long about the logistics of Tubhole and whether Bad and Pierre are valid in their objections against it. But the facts remain that it is within Tubbo's rights to do so and that they have not given him the grace period to let him make it into a good build. It literally is still a work in process that has been going on for less than 24 Minecraft hours. And even if it turns out to be ugly, the fact that Tubbo has been building the Tubhole with only create machines is fucking cool and makes it worth it (in my opinion). Moreover, Bad and Pierre both have similar big projects and their concern that it is different because of the close proximity to spawn feels a bit hypocritical as there are other (big) projects near spawn that cause similar amounts of lag.

And now this vendetta has gone from convincing other islanders of how Tubbo must be stopped to them framing Tubbo for the kidnapping of Ron to Fred. A being that everyone on the island at this point knows is important to Tubbo. A relationship which is one of the only ones Tubbo has left, besides the morning crew. We already know how much the relationship between Fred and Tubbo affects Tubbo's emotions so what will losing Fred or their trust do to him?

So now you have this huge cluster of events that puts q!Tubbo in a situation where everyone is against him, the federation, the code entities and most of the islanders as well. An exception can be made for the morning crew however they do not seem to take Tubbo or his concerns seriously, treating it like the mischief and matters of a kid.

And most interestingly, it is still not clear what makes Tubbo so special. Is it his use of create mod? Aypierre, Ramon and Dapper do something similar. Is it his curiosity and distrust of the federation? Cellbit, Badboyhalo en Bagi are right there with him. Is it his apparent greed or selfishness with regard to resources? It is not like he has never shared them or that gathering resources is sole motivation. Is it his knowledge of Minecraft mechanics to break the lore/server? Philza and his fourth wall breaking say hello as does Aypierre. Is it his age then? His relentless attitude to anything that catches his attention? His endless curiosity?

It will be so interesting to see where all these points of contention will lead to and how q!Tubbo will react to it or change as a result of it. Currently, his only concerns are the potential romance with Fred and finishing the Tubhole so that he can get along with everyone again. So he clearly does not know yet how much trouble he truly is in or how the cards are stacked against him...

I've been kinda on this quest to find a good way to tastefully retcon the brighton biter's character from qsmp but that's kinda a difficult challenge when he's very integral to another character's arc (Lullah). I've thought about making a placeholder character since with how little he logged on it wouldn't be hard (Might make him faceless, charlie brown parent style), but for now I'm just gonna refer to him as "W". *Characters not CCS, if that couldn't be more obvious, but i'll leave the rest of this under a read more if you don't wanna read about this guy for even a second! I don't blame you.

I bravely like the bravest Guppy ever went back and watched the stream where him and Phil argue after his return, and in my mind the conversation where the two originally made up went a lot differently.

W choosing to leave the mission is, be it subconsciously or not, a decision more so made out of a desire for moral superiority over Phil than it is for answers, because truly, him choosing absence over aiding others being brought up is one of the biggest holes Phil could have punched in his ego, and while he likes Phil as a friend, he doesn't like to imagine him as having done more for Lullah than him. It results in an act of inaction only done out of a desire to avoid responsibility while still seeming present on a surface level, and Phil's had enough of that.

In my kinda mental rewrite, Phil was done with his absence and gave him an ultimatum; either he can stay here on the island and at least temporarily stop touring to give Lullah the father she deserves, or he can go back with his band that's supporting the island's biggest tormentor financially, and never show his face around here again.

Phil is fully and wholeheartedly expecting him to do the former, because it is a choice and sacrifice so obvious that he knows any other person here would choose it in a heartbeat, but instead- and to Phil's disappointment, W gets cold feet, opting to avoid commitment for one final time.

When Lullah is finally back on the island, Phil tries not to tell her immediately, because he sincerely doesn't know how to even approach something like that. In a way, he becomes avoidant too, but for more selfless reasons in contrast. He's still trying to figure out how to let her down easy.

But unfortunately in the time she's been gone, Phil's said a lot about this situation to the other island residents. He's made jokes about it to cope and he's vented about it to his more trusted friends, so i think by the time Lullah and Phil have their big conversation (after her and Chayanne fight) where she opens up about her feelings, Lullah is already somewhat aware of what really happened with W, or at the bare minimum she has her suspicions and has been keeping quiet.

Even then, Phil can't fully bring himself to tell her that W effectively abandoned her, and so for better or for worse, Lullah seeks out answers on her own, and that's what leads her to finally stand up for her own individuality and stop living in W's shadow.

ANALYSING Q!SLIME'S FINAL BIRTHDAY GIFT [12/08/2023]

With the addition of the underground railway within the mines of q!Slime's Eggxile base, the choices on the birthday build (from the lead-up, the threshold, to the house itself) adds so much on to q!Slime's character as well as gives hints on the bigger picture of the Federation and the new wave of codes.

Prior to today's Birthday stream, the two significant builds in Eggxile are the Altar to Lil J and the Basement - two builds that represent q!Slime's religious devotion and his familial devotion respectively. I did an analysis comparing the two in another post HERE as a Part 1 - big recommend to read through that one before this one when you can!

This time I'll be going into detail specifically about the underground railway and how it represents q!Slime's 'devotion' to the island itself and the Federation.

long rambling ahead be careful [EXPLANATION UNDERCUT]

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Quick SparkNotes summary about Slime's way of building:

Slime's builds are simplistic, symmetrical layouts (preferably circular)

Comprised of mostly local, easy to obtain/manufacture materials

A lot of flora interior

NO security, little-to-no input from the Create-mod

These characteristics were derived from the similarities between Slime's existing builds of the Altar and the Basement. The uncanniness of the Birthday Build is that it is an extension NOT built by Slime, but instead is the Federation's attempt to imitate his style and forcibly insert itself into his life.

We can presume that this is the Federation's doing and by extension JuanaFlippa's current identity by the context clues during the scavenger hunt. The main giveaway being the location of the START placed at the QSMP Dinner Hall: the first sightings of the Egg Codes and the location of Gegg's assassination. The detail of the FIRST CLUE as well being Slime's train ticket to the island supports this theory in assumption that it was the Federation that both brought the original 17 residence to the island and is currently withholding the tickets themselves.

The scavenger hunt goes as planned, all in all directing Slime back to his Eggxile base. (Note the poster being placed IN FRONT of the school's only exit)

THRESHOLD BETWEEN THIS WORLD AND THE NEXT: Not much of Slime's actual base is touched in the scavenger hunt other than the nook in the Basement Slime had originally designed to be JuanaFlippa's area. Here it is decorated with the carpet, two chairs, and two presents. Everything before that (lamps including) was made by Slime.

After Slime collects what he believes is the last of the presents the lamps in the Basement are progressively removed directing him to the only other light in room being the black wool platform and chest. These lamps were destroyed NOT turned off. The contents of the chest read as follows:

Hostile architecture is defined as a design strategy to purposefully guide or restrict movement (targeting mostly the homeless. it sucks). And by limiting Slime's vision here is the first of many examples of the Federation restricting Slime's movement as the path progressively becomes more and more forced.

From here to the mine entrance Slime is still given a physical choice whether or not to follow the light. This is the Federation's way in giving Slime the illusion of free choice. 'You chose to follow the light' 'You chose to break that wall in the mines' 'You chose to activate the train carriage'

The train carriage and its small, difficult to move around, interior being the last direct choice Slime makes. It locks him inside and sends him on a trip that goes no where but down, deeper into the mines.

It's worth noting that originally these mines originally belong to Slime. He made this entrance and he was able to freely explore any part of these caves. What the train carriage does is give Slime a strict path to follow and a very limited window to look through - no straying from the path here. Look only where the Federation tells you to.

Given the connection between codes and trains, symbolically this can also represent Slime's gradual spiral (the shape of the tracks) into hell - the madness that is the island led on by the Federation.

JUANAFLIPPA'S HOUSE: The road ends at a small house at the very bottom of the lush caves. It's a nice house! Supposedly trying to replicate the arched partition walls in the Basement... But not quite perfectly imitating his style of build. The giveaways being its asymmetry and the choice of materials: a variety of different wood types, most NOT local to Eggxile (also the fake house just looks prettier wwww)

Here's the two houses for comparison (Slime's house is an 8x8 block square)

Stylistically, the vibe of this house given the location and purpose remind me of that one Cold War bunker in Las Vegas. An underground mansion designed to look like the outside world - a secluded, controlled paradise for a family to live in.

The confirmation that the underground house being a facade becomes clearer the deeper Slime explores the inside.

Normal interior. Normal kitchen. Normal table: 4 chairs (like the outside bonfire), 3 mugs (Slime, Mariana, Juanaflippa). Shelves like Slime's old house in Sacapuntas. A passageway in the wall leading to Juanaflippa's room.

All these things portraying the life Slimeriana and Juanaflippa could have lived. A happy family tucked under from all the dangers of the outside, far far away from the world. Until you look deeper into the cracks only to find out it was all fake, there is nothing back there. A mockery in disguise of a gift.

THE FEDERATION AND SLIME: Prior to the birthday stream with the assassination of Gegg, Slime had initially come to terms that Juanaflippa was well and truly dead and had told ElQuackity (a member of the Federation) that he no longer had any attachments to the island, and because of that would try to be himself. The Federation responded to this twice: the first being ElQuackity offering a position to work with them and ElQuackity win the Elections (this fails as ElQuackity is assassinated by q!BBH); the second being this birthday stream.

So far the Federation has not destroyed anything Slime has built but instead added on top of it. These decisions both give Slime a reason to stay on the island whilst pushing him to do things aligned with the Federation's goals shown by the gifts he gets in the scavenger hunt (Ghillie suit, landmines, grappling hook, dark metal ingots).

Interestingly the 2nd prize during the scavenger hunt is quite literally called the CHARLIE Flag and is the nautical symbol for YES. While the purpose of this flag is for whatever mission the Federation is about to send Slime on, this is also metaphorical as the only response Slime can give right now is YES.

Additionally the flag metaphor could be applied on the controls at the beginning of the tracks: Red flag both socially and in Nautical terms (BRAVO) meaning danger/carrying dangerous cargo.

These are literal red flags in the world in the architecture that are warnings to Slime that once he 'agrees' to these terms and conditions, life for him will only get more dangerous with no way in turning back. Deliberate decisions made by the Federation in guise of Slime's actions and the places he's impacted in the world.

In the end, Slime is a product of the early QSMP and how its history shapes a person and is represented physically by the builds he makes. By the interference of the new tech and prettier structures, the Federation overwrites Slime's creations against his will, creating a world unfamiliar to him - blending what is the truth of the past with the new, augmented present. In another context, change like this can be a good thing - but in this circumstance presents itself as an invasive decision into Slime's private life. This is the Federation forcibly applying itself as one of Slime's priorities in sacrifice of rewriting everything Slime has gone through.

MCYT on Ao3, March '25

It's that time again! I should be filing my taxes, but NAH first I do some stats.

Some Notes:

Three new SMP this month! This month sees the entry of PVP Parkour Civilization, Unstable Universe, and 미스터리 수사반 | Mysterious Crime Squad (Web Series), which brings us to a total of 74 individual MCYT Fandoms, and also Video Blogging. Unstable Universe is especially notable for entering the spreadsheet already as a midsize fandom, with 361 fics as I check it! As always, if you know of a new MCYT fandom that wouldn't show up on a search for SMP, please let me know!

Fics are still primarily in english, but we have three exceptions with significant spanish fics. Karmaland (884 of 1,033 are in spanish, a jump from 870 last month), Tortillaland, (145 of 152 are in spanish, from 141 last month), and QSMP (1,351 of 11,844 are in spanish, from 1,326 last month).

QSMP also shows 58 works in French, up from 57 last month, and 859 works in Brazilian Portuguese, up from 842 las month.

In small SMPs we saw a lot of small or no increases, as this appears to be a slow month overall, with only a few standout fandoms. The standout is Realm SMP, with this month's 61 fics beating last month's 52, far in advance of anyone else!

In the mid-size fandoms it was Unstable Universe that finally took the crown from Parkour Civilization. Parkour Civilization saw 56 fics— a sizeable increase and very comparable with last month's 57— but it was blown out of the water by Unstable Universe's 107 new fics.

In the large fandoms, it was another month of decreases for everybody. Lifesteal's 152 was down from last month's 162 and the previous month's 173, Empires posted 84 in contrast to last month's 144 and the previous month's 164, and QSMP 143 was comparable with last month's 144, but still down from the previous month's 238. Even in the really big fandoms, 3rd life's 522 was a notable decrease from February's 664 and January's 992, and Hermitcraft's 471 was a decrease from last month's 700 and January's 962. With 400, DSMP's numbers were less than last month's 480 and back into their multi-month slide. We've started into exchange season and this is a doldrums part of the year for many, so it remains to be seen if people are writing things and waiting to post or if in some other way the numbers pick up again in the future.

While some fandoms under the video blogging umbrella did well (unstable universe, notably), we can see a decrease across the board in Video Blogging. The total month was 2,372, which is down from February's 2,608 and well down from January's 3,413. Last month at this time we saw an overall increase of 51 fics, however, as that was one of the months with the highest numbers of deletions I've ever seen, so we are still up from last year!

QSMP Purgatory Pissa AU

There is cannabalism in this.

This takes place in an apocalyptic world, around a city that's sorta floating/suspended in the air a good 100 meters up. The elite basically controlls the city, and both for them not wanting it to become crowded and for their own entertainment they gather a group of people (criminals, people with less power than them that they don't like, etc) and basically kick them out of the city.

It's hard to live outside, anyone who breaks away from the group tends to die if they don't get accepted into another one, but the groups that have survived are often suspicious of others so it's a rare occurance.

Doesn't help that those who survive out in the wilderness tends to have gone a bit insane.

Story-wise:

The blue group is the newest batch to the outside and gets greeted by a couple of people from green team who gives them the run down of the "rules" out here. Fit gives them the heads-up, to be nice, to avoid running into the red team until they're more on their footing. "They can be a lot to handle" as he says.

The blue group finds a place to settle down on and at first it seems to be going all good, making people question why it always seemed so bad to live out here. Then they get ambushed by a purple team but before there can be too much bloodshed there's a disaster that sends the purple team hurrying away. After everything calmed down, they still have to bury 3 bodies.

After that attack, they truely start to learn the rules here on the outside.

The first time Missa encounters someone from the red team is when he enters a cave system to escape an acid storm. He figures he can get some mining resources while he's at it.

As he enters a cave he spots another person in the cave already. Now, at this point he has heard plenty of horror stories about the red team from some tense trading interactions with other teams, so he freezes in place as the gasmask turns to him. Missa barely register the masked man shouting something and he's just frozen in place as the man sprints at him, pickaxe in hand. And as it's raised, obviously with the intent to strike, Missa closes his eyes and raises his arms around his head as if it would prevent him getting killed.

There's a loud crack and there's a brief but heavy silence as Missa realizes that the loud crack didn't come from his own head getting cracked open and then there's a thud as something heavy hit the ground.

Missa opens his eyes to see the masked man take a step away from him, the pickaxe falling to his side in a casual hold. He glances behind him to see an unmoving zombie. With a sizeable hole in the side of the head.

When he looks up again, the man is surprisingly far away. The last he sees of him is a pair of wings, partial feathery and partial skeletal.

So his first encounter with someone from the red team was terrifying, but he at least survived.

His next encounter with the red is the same man. And Missa isn't sure what overtakes him, but he gives the man his freshest food, as a thank you for saving him last time. The masked man gives him a look, not that Missa can tell through the mask, as Missa nervously rambles abt the thank you. But they part way without anything dramatic happening.

Missa himself doesn't really encounter other people from the red team though he do hear stories from his team members. And they sound terrifying and yet, when he meet the masked man for the third time, he's not exactly terrified, just more like nervous.

This time he's been out looking for any new crops that can farm when he gets jumped once again by acid rain. He digs down and stumbles into a tunnel. It's not a big tunnel, barely large enough for him to sit up. Obviously a tunnel that you mostly crawl through. When Missa finally gets his bearings he realizes that the masked man is staring at him. And then the man is leaning close and Missa becomes flustered as he presses close, but it's a brief contact and the man is leaning back again. Now Missa realizes that he had closed off the hole Missa had made as he tried to get into cover. Which was a good as Missa can feel the sting from where the droplets had eaten through his clothes.

They're staying in silence for a little bit until the man tries to talk but Missa can't make out what he's saying and then he removes his mask and now Missa is throughly flustered as he looks at him with a grin. The man introduces himself as Phil and the two talk a bit as they're waiting for the rain to stop.

It's a bit of a surprise when Phil suddenly puts on the mask again but there's no hesitation in digging out of the small tunnel. Outside they wave goodbye to each other and part ways.

They keep bumping into each other and Missa just can't see why people are afraid of the red team. Not only does he meet Phil several more times, but he do meet other from team red. Sure, they can be a bit odd but everyone kept talking as if they're are a group of scary induviduals.

It's not until there's a "hunt" of sorts that Missa gets to see just how terrifying the red team can be.

"Hunts" are an event where the elite from the city decides to send some heavily armored soldiers to kill some people from the teams because they think there's been too little killing between the teams.

Green and blue teams gets jumped when they're in the middle of a discussion of how to deal with an incoming big horde of mobs. There's a lot of fighting, but at least it's not a pure massacer.

At one point Missa is scrambling backwards to get away as one soldier is raising their rifle to shoot him, and then *something* throws itself over the soldier. Somewhere in the back of his mind he recognizes it as Cellbit and he's tearing into the soldier with his bare hands. And the rest of the red team is not far behind. With the help of the red team all of the soldiers gets killed (maybe some escapes) and they're safe for now.

Missa locates Phil through all of the people and finds him digging through the chest of one of the soldiers. And when he stands up, he's holding the soldier's heart in his hand. And he's staring at Missa and walks to him. He crouches in front of him and stretches out his hand holding the heart.

As Missa stares at the mask staring back at him, Phil pushes the heart closer and closer to Missa's mouth until Missa has it pressed against his lips. And as he stares into the mask's eyes he takes a bite of it, fearing what would happen if he didn't. H knows Phil well enough by now to know that the other man is smiling.

When Phil pulls the heart away, the whole red team is cheering. And Missa doesn't dare to spit it out so he swallows the bite he took.

(Missa doesn't notice how Cellbit runs over to Roier with another heart and does the same thing, the red team cheering even more. he can only stare at them as they grab some of the bodies and he knows it's for food)

Cue Missa having a bit of a crisis when he realizes that he still has a crush on Phil despite that.

alright. finally saying this shit.

i used to be a big fan of his and was one of the many delusional fans he harbored so closely that nobody else’s opinions ever mattered. and finally. fucking finally i am free of it.

i swear dream was just another privileged rich white boy who became famous for minecraft and now everything he does is either cash grab (everything to do with techno after his passing and profiting off of it) or acting like he’s a humble good guy who loves to give back (paying people outrageous amounts of money when he can just be an actual kind hearted soul and be genuine and nice to others. it’s like he’s trying to atone for something but also flaunt his money).

he made a song to “honor” techno, someone he was never truly close with (wilbur phil and tommy were his closest cc friends, even skeppy!) just to profit off of it. and then paired with a music video that showcased his sickness and death while making dream be the main character. let’s be honest, he become closer to techno after his passing (because he’s exploiting it all) than he ever was when he was living. it just tells me that he never experienced a death around him before, doesn’t know how to handle it, and is now using it STILL! for profitable gain. LET TECHNO REST. LET HIS FATHER AND FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND LOYAL FANS LOVE HIM AND CARRY HIM FORWARD IN PEACE! if he really cared, he’d make monuments, or donate more, or just sit and tell stories and share things like his father continues to do. i have seen more genuine care about honoring techno from the qsmp admins and philza, than anyone else.

dream has clearly manipulated every situation he has found himself in, whether bad or good, to be in his favor. some of the shit that has been filed against him, painting him as many many gross things, might not be true. but it doesn’t negate the fact that there is a reason why people keep coming up with new allegations, some very real ones. he isn’t a good guy. never has been and no matter how hard he says he tries and believes he is, he never will be.

i am so disappointed. in myself for ever falling into his trap of love for his fans when all he has ever done is manipulate and harass and exploit. but he’s just another white man who came from privilege, who has proven to be a disgusting person in the past, and deep down, has never changed.

so. came up with Another qsmp au (because of course) that i'm calling the "Ghost Dads" au. basically, Quackity and Charlie die trying to protect Tilín and Flippa.

specifically, Quackity had taken Tilín to teach them how to swim, but it started storming. Quackity managed to get her out of the river, but he got swept away and drowned. Charlie had gone with Mariana and Flippa on an adventure, but unlike last time, where Mariana had hit her on accident and killed her, Charlie managed to jump in front of Flippa and took the hit instead. however, this ended up killing him instead.

they both wander as ghosts, watching over their kids as well as the rest of the server. however, nobody besides their kids can see them. well, Mariana can also see Charlie sometimes, but it's usually out of the corners of his eyes or at night while he's sleeping. we're not even gonna try getting into the weird Gegg Situation™ rn. and Quackity just shows up to people they're pissed at. speaking of which...

when ElQuackity came around, he tried to pretend that he was Quackity, saying things like "Oh yeah, uh, I've finally come back after being washed away by the river. I definitely didn't die :)"

and, mysteriously, he started having "sleep paralysis." he'd see a ghostly version of his twin brother, soaking wet with ripped clothes. they almost never speak, as anytime they open their mouth, water pours out. his eyes are wide and glassy as he stare them down. at first he'd appear at the foot of the bed, then, night by night, he'd slowly keep getting closer. one night, ElQ wakes up to find Quackity sitting on his chest, staring into his soul. but hey, it's just sleep paralysis...right?

well, they fuck up big time. they attack Tilín. he doesn't kill them, thank the fucking lord, but they are heavily injured.

(Tilín lays on her bed, in pain and fading in and out of consciousness. he hears his father's voice, and feels a wet, cold hand giving comforting pats to their shell. Tilín almost cries, thinking that it's a surefire sign that he is going to die soon. it's not, it's just Quackity comforting his injured child)

that night, ElQ doesn't just wake up finding someone staring at him. they wake up with cold, clammy hands wrapped around their throat, and glassy eyes filled with rage staring down at them. he tries prying the fingers off of his throat, but it doesn't work. it continues until he finally starts blacking out.

they wake up hours later in bed, gasping for breath. he assumes it's a nightmare; a rather realistic nightmare, but a nightmare nonetheless.

because ghosts aren't real, right?

(he tries to ignore the handprints around his neck, as well as the wet footprints that lead to and from his room. they'd rather not think about them.)

(fun fact: the only reason ghost!Quackity didn't kill ElQ then and there is because a worker walked by his room, and he didn't want to be seen :))

WAIT HOLD ON I HAD A BIG BRAIN MOMENT

For anyone that didn't catch Wilbur's stream today: when he checked the mailbox in front of tallulah towers looking for clues on where Llulah is, he noticed he had a letter from the federation. It basically said that Lovejoy is funding the federation, and they're proud of Wilbur. It also had a picture attached of a painted drawing of the Brazilian cargo ship on fire, in the same style Lovejoy's album covers have all been lately. I noticed this during the stream, but didn't have much time to think about it. However, a user on twitter pointed out that there's gotta be some deeper meaning there, which lead me to look back on Lovejoy's recent releases.

First up: Call Me What You Like - A single released by Lovejoy very early in the year (february or march I think, but idk for sure) whose album cover depicts a plane crashing toward the ground, on fire. I, like any good sleuth, immediately connected it to the French plane. The French crashed into the island via plane, and I do belive it was on fire before they hit the ground. The thing that made me jump the most was that this was, as far as I remember, released before the qsmp had even STARTED, much less when the French joined the server. Another small detail I noticed that might not be important is that Quackity appears in the music video as well as cc's not affiliated with the qsmp and people I could not identify any of the times I watched it (probably just background actors, but my brain's working overtime anyway).

Next up: Wake Up & It's Over - Lovejoy's latest EP, which includes the single Call Me What You Like. It's album cover depicts a train on fire, heading sideways off of its tracks. This reminded me of the first trains on the island - the ones that brought the initial English and Spanish speakers to the island. There was never a problem with them crashing or being set on fire as far as I remember, but it could be poetic. Another thought I had was about the create mod. For the past month or so, about since the eggs left I think, people have been experimenting with the create mod more - mostly using trains, actually. This could be a future event occurring with all the trains people have been building, something going wrong or some crazy angsty lore, idk. Again, it could be more of a symbol or an omen, but with cmwyl and the picture the federation gave q!bur I don't think it is. Another very obvious possibility is that it represents new members joining, like the other two do.

Third, and final: Normal People Things - Lovejoy's latest single, released just a week or two ago. The cover image for this song depicts a car crashing into the side of a house, the car very clearly on fire. I don't know if it's worth mentioning, but the other three covers all seem to take place during the day, but Normal People Things looks like it's happening during a sunrise/sunset (likely the latter). This cover is one I'm not really sure what to do with. It obviously follows the pattern of the others, so it's gotta fit in somewhere, I just don't know where. Nothing like that has ever happened to the players so we can be sure it's a future event. I'm not sure if it represents new players joining or just something the residents will have to deal with. (This last bit that I'm about to talk about is a huge stretch, but I've seen crazier connections.) As I was looking at all of the album covers, I thought a little bit more about the lyrics in npt. It reminds me of the happy pills arc, where Forever was taking pills and going a little insane. Here are a few of the lyrics:

Let's get specific, shall we? (Apologies for how blurry this gets.. My image software skills are ancient and rusting.)

First, I believe that the central pillar appears to be depicting 2 things - an entity and a shield; possibly the former using the latter, or the latter keeping the former at bay and away from the orb in the middle of the room.

The shield matches an existing item in the game, so much in fact this was why I immediately started slapping things down and noticing other stuff as I went.

The next thing is the weakest of the three main things, but still relevant when one considers: the Federation is Always Watching. They have eyes EVERYWHERE. Observing.

Eyes that have also been thematic to a certain other faction. Opening eyes to see the reality of situations. Thematic to finding out and learning the truth.

"Eyes wide open."

And finally, there's this guy.

A very devilish face, which fits many elements on the island, and QSMP as a whole.

Alter-Cucurucho, Cucurucho, The Angel and The Devil all have very simple faces that could be argued as a fitting match to the entity being kept out - or should that be in?

Bad made a comment that something 'broke out' when the group was theorising about what the images were depicting - and given how often he's been referenced as a demon himself, albeit heavily denied by Bad, and his murmurings about familiarity with the location... Well.

Of course, it also looks a bit like a wolf. And QSMP does have some big wolf fans who have lots of moon references...
