I'm actually curious to know what that reason is? Would you grace us with your character analysis smut thoughts on Bart topping and Kon bottoming?

(Also yes you should write more bart/kon, for yourself only of course, i have no self-serving OTP-related reason to say that)

I'm gonna be honest, my character analysis thoughts on this one can largely be translated across multiple fandoms/IPs but basically just boil down to: "people who don't on-first-sight insta-map characters onto what they inherently assume a top/bottom dynamic 'should' look and behave like are in my personal experience way more likely to have done enough character analysis of their own to write those characters in a way that I personally can recognize and enjoy as BEING those characters, and are also way more likely to write sex scenes in a way that I personally find interesting/compelling, and in a way that does not fit the 'should' narrative".

Like, it seriously IS just the vibes, man. The vibes just HIT different for me.

And this is obviously just my own personal experience again, but IN my own personal experience, no matter how good/bad the writing/plot/grammar/fic overall was, I have never seen ANYONE who was writing bottom!Kon write "Cardboard Boyfriend" Kon and I have ALSO never seen anyone who was writing top!Bart write "Manic Pixie Dumbass" Bart, plus whoever their in-fic partner happened to be was ALSO likelier to be well-written and in-character and feel like a real, fleshed-out character with their own thoughts and feelings and agency in the scene and not a sexy lamp that you could just find/replace with "x Reader" and immediately nobody'd have any idea who the original character had actually been.

Like don't get me wrong, I very much HAVE read fics with Kon topping and/or Bart bottoming and been like "well I don't think it's AS hot because Personal Preference/lbr-probably-a-Pavlovian-reaction-at-this-point, but it IS actually the actual characters and the actual RELATIONSHIP/narration is written hot so fuck it, I'm in, let's go, author, I'm on-board, take me away," but pretty much every single time I clicked through to the author's profile, it was to find they'd also written a least one or two fics where they'd done bottom/verse!Kon or top/verse!Bart too. Like idk, man, there's just a VIBE there for some reason; there is something in the WATER or something, I dunno.

Also like, big buff invulnerable dude with super-strength and lifelong insecurities about how he's been/is being perceived by literally every single person who ever hears of him whether or not he even knows THEY exist getting railed straight to FUCK by a short king speedster who does not care what anyone he doesn't give a fuck about thinks of him at all but DID put a whole lot of skill points into "motion of the ocean", "size of the boat", AND "breaking space and time specifically for this one specific guy I wanna hang out with again" really does just ring my bell, what can I say.

Au where Batman doesn't want to tell the Justice League his secret identity but it's because he's really embarrassed about the things he's done as Bruce Wayne.
