She chose the most gorgeous celestial-themed paper for the cover, AND hand-painted the lighthouse bookplate, AND hand-wrote the blurb on the back?? AHHHHH
I'm just! It's so beautifully and thoughtfully made!! okay bc like. seeing the pics of uhhh yk macklin in the hotel room and then people saying "get someone else to connor bedard right now" actually did make me very like. Agh about him. like. the fucking narratives man. he has wayyyyy too much on his shoulders. and now the direct parallels of him and mack with like 1st round pick who is still Happy even on a bad team + 1st round pick who is very visibly going through it and has no one to support him. and is getting blamed for all of his team's failure when no one is doing the same to mack (afaik anyway). like. oof man.
#and i think it partially has to do with the different energy they have#connor has become jaded in less than 2 years and i think he is just generally a less friendly person#which is not a bad thing at all like im not saying hes BAD i just think mack is comparatively more cheerful and cute and whatnot#but connor is also just completely fucking alone and he's way too young for this#for the treatment he's getting and the team he's on#he has no whimsy whatsoever bc he doesn't have like a team that he feels he can still count on#he doesn't have a team that it seems like he even likes very much#and he CERTAINLY doesn't have a close friend with him the way mack does with will#but besides that? connor and mack are the same#they have gotten the same punishment that comes with being so good at such a young age#but like i said. mack is doing okay still it seems. connor is visibly dying.#for the entire league and its fans to see.#like. what sort of music first comes to mind when someone says pop + how old are you?
#this is so vague but i suddenly realised something#bc i was thinking about the origins of Popular Music in like the 40s and 50s and how the sound of that is entirely different to modern pop#but then it's such a weird genre bc it is just. what's popular. like it has no defining sound#it's just a mixture of whatever genre's are popular#e.g. in the 2000s there was a lot of guitar bc like pop punk emo and indie were big then#whereas in the 90s i feel it had more r&b and soul kind of influences#obviously not all of it but i guess just bc those were big genres in those decades#wait not Soul soul for the 90s but ykwim like. very Vocals kind of music. if that makes sense. idek#anyway. but yeah so it's a genre that doesn't really describe it's sound#so when a song you've never heard gets called pop surely nothing should come to mind? bc pop could be anything#but then i realised i do have a thing in my head of what ''pop'' sounds like#and it's like a kesha katy perry one direction type of sound. bc i grew up in the late 00s/early 10s. so of course that's what it is#but i bet if i ask my parents what pop sounds like to them it'd be different#and that is so fascinating to me idk why. music evolution autism mode has been fully activated#so if you read this hello thank you and also please lmk what you think pop sounds like + your age or generation or whatever#ramble

Also kinda related to my last post but. When I went to get my orthopedic consultation it was in this HUGE medical building with a whole ass physical therapy division. I can’t really describe what I felt when I walked into the gym and saw all these people working with specialists to help train their muscles or to walk again or to strengthen parts of their bodies that had undergone trauma from an accident or whatever else. It was kinda sad but also very hopeful to see?? Idk I just felt really emotional seeing that nfjkandvnj
