hot take but seeing the outsiders once a week doesn’t make you superior to anyone, nor does it make you best friends with the cast and we should stop feeding into toxic behavior instead of sitting around and bitching because people see the musical fandom as toxic because while the tumblr musical fans are fine for the most part, the fandom as a whole is toxic and that’s why i and so many others are leaving or have left it 🫶

I think all fandoms have an annoying side. And even the fandoms that are labeled "toxic" have their good sides.
At some point it's just a matter of curating one's own experience, I guess. You gotta steer away from the parts of the fandom you don't like and stick to the ones you like. I've rarely disliked my fandom experiences because I just don't stay in the sides of fandoms I find annoying.

Kind of wish people would understand that you can dislike characters actions and they can piss you off but you can still enjoy the show as a whole
#yes this is about yellowjackets 💔 it is not a lack of media literacy to dislike a fictional character because they annoy you#thats just a byproduct of interacting with any kind of fiction#it happens#i hate shauna because she annoys the hell out of me but i understand a lot of her motivations and her situation-#-which makes me understand how complex of a character she is. but that doesnt mean i actually like her#she still annoys me#i just know why she annoys me#and i think a lot of people are too obsessed with the show to actually understand that you can still like it-#-and even like the characters but still dislike and acknowledge when a character does something bad#because the character did something bad#like idk its weird to me that people get so defensive over it#just as characters can do bad things people can dislike characters for doing bad things and still enjoy the narrative at hand#you do not need to instill toxic positivity as a must to interact with fandom#you do not need to jump for joy at every pixel on screen#you can dislike things#hate them even#because everybody dislikes things. everybody hates things. thats just being human.#no show is perfect and the point of the show isnt even to be perfect#which is something people repeat over and over as to why you need to like everything in it (which seems like backwards thinking to me)#people can be complicated and the show (and characters) is complicated#but you can dislike complex things??#i do not understand the narrative people are pushing that you cannot dislike any character because it 'proves' you dont understand nuance-#-and cant handle an 'adult show' like yellowjackets#the argument just reminds me of people who get angry when you criticise the humor in rick and morty#its so 'you need to be an intellectual to understand it'core i fear 💔

God bless Todd. Guys I had no idea how much good it would do me to see him back as Sam Hanna last night. Still high on positive energy. He also did the impossible. I've been working tons of extra hours -- every evening and on the weekends -- for my job for reasons. There's so much to do that even when I'm home I keep working. For the first time in 2.5 weeks I actually didn't work on a project last night because I was too busy getting ready to settle in and watch NCIS and then was too happy to do anything. Sam Hanna did that. He also had me writing fics in my head while I sat in the now daily construction traffic on my way home.

Sorry for this long rambling ask but I just feel really sad :(
The yr fandom seems so toxic nowadays :/ it feels like there's always drama but when there's no drama it's dead
I don't have anyone irl or online to talk about yr with so I just read things online, I'm really tempted to move on but it's really sad because I've never been this obsessed with a TV show before but I'm just done
Any updates from edmar lead to arguments between omar and edvins fans and I'm really tired
I've had this feeling since the drama from last year started but now I'm actually thinking it's time to go
I struggle to meet people normally anyway so I really don't know how to meet people in the fandom too that are nice and like both edvin and omar :(

After some careful consideration, I have decided not to host a gratitude/kindness event this year for a number of reasons.
However, instead, I will extend the Spread Kindness Event through the end of November. Whether you participated the first time and what to share more joy or you were busy and want to give some shout outs now, you are welcome to so. This blog is always open to encourage and lift people up.

I've just been staring at the promo pic for the Flamby episode, because bearded!John Light is so beautiful, and it got me wondering.
We know that the showrunners are at least somewhat aware of the fandom given the fan-service they've given us in the past (Sister Boniface spinoff, thief Marianne, Valentine return, Susie mention, Felicia/Flambeau, probably more I'm forgetting).
So what I'm wondering is...do you guys think the showrunners/episode director asked (either now or in seasons past) John Light to grow a beard *for us* because they know we're all thirsty for bearded!Flamby, or do you think that Flambeau facial hair is just dependent on whatever John Light already happens to be rocking on his face at the time of filming?
Like is it fanservice or just serendipity? Either way, I am not complaining but it does make me wonder.
