So you know those DPxDC AUs where Tim makes a deal with either Clockwork or Danny to carry Ellie? Or Tim is a reborn Danny whose carrying Ellie instead (love these btw) in order to get Bruce out of the time stream.

Well what about instead of just Ellie, it's both her and Danny.

Danny and Ellie who were badly hurt by the GIW that they both had to revert into their cores. They are saved by their friends/family and are taken to Frostbite. There they are monitored and looked after only until they can finally the reform but they run into a problem. The two can't return to their home dimension due to the GIW activity and they cant stay to long in the Infinite Realms cause they are still halfas. Then one day CW appears to speak with Frostbite over something important about the two.

Meanwhile in the DCverse.

Tim might have figured a way to save Bruce from the timestream. A being known as Clockwork might be able to help him if he manages to summon the powerful 'Ancient'.

However he knows summoning and requesting it's help he will have to pay a price.

If it means getting Bruce back he'll do it...

Forget Streaming, Return to Winamp

I hear some of you are getting a little tired of the streaming service gauntlet! Did you know you can play mp3s with Winamp 5.6x, a very old program that plays songs perfectly fine from your PC, where your songs should be? (Newer versions add bullshit, you can decide whether you want that, but you don't.)

Did you know I made several really fucking good Utena Winamp skins? That aren't even on the website anymore because I broke the Multimedia section trying to make it easier to update in 2009? They might even be older than you, dear reader. I show my work hunting through my own website for shit I just forgot was there in a thread on Something Eternal, but if you just want the sauce:

Pictured in the order I made them, the first four are AT LEAST as old as April 2002. The last three were made in 2006 and 2007. All of them are in this 2mb ZIP, a comically small file for content I spent a small fortune hosting back when 2mb was a fucking massive amount of data, lmaaaao.

GOD so i hear my brother freaking out in the living room like "MANDO WHAT HAPPENED??? ARE YOU OKAY???" and i run out and there is what looks like a GIANT red gash down the dog's forehead and snout

bro goes what do we do and i direct him to hold onto mando and clean the gash off with a wet towel while i look for some neosporin but the thing is. this dog is scared of Everything. he is 55 lbs of Run From Scary Plastic Bag Noise instinct and nothing else, and so i thought hed be freaking out more, or that we'd have at least heard SOME commotion when he gouged himself. but no he's just sitting there chilling out while bro wipes gunk off his face

so i just kinda. squint. "are we sure it's blood"

bro goes "i dunno?" and so i just like. turn on some lights, and we confirm whatever it is sure does Look like it's just sitting on top of the fur. so i lean in for a sniff.

Theres not a big gap between when Zoro heads to bed for the night and when Sanji gets up to start work on the crews breakfast.

So one night on his way to bed Zoro gave the cook a shove to help him wake up.

Just being helpful, he would say if questioned.

And he was helpful on most nights after that.

Maybe sometimes he shoved the cook right off the hamock on his way to his own

Huh, must have forgotten how light and delicate he is, Zoro would grin, watching the blondes blood pressure raise

Sanji cant even shout at him the way he wants to - at least not after the first time, when his yelling woke up the ladies on the ship. (He of course apologized profusely to them, then spent the full day antagonizing Zoro to the best of his considerable abilities)

Now on the days when Sanji wakes up with the floor rising to meet him, all he can do is quietly and furiously make vague gestures promising Zoro bodily harm once the sun is up.

It always leaves Zoro going to sleep with a grin on his face as Sanji stomps out of the boys bunk muttering curses under his breath.

And then maybe one night Zoro is exhausted - cant even summon the energy to make it the three extra steps to his own hammock - so instead he flops down directly onto the cook.

(They argue and wrestle for a few minutes, exhaustion forgotten for the time it takes for Sanji to kick Zoro in the head, give up the fight and extract himself from the bed.

He calls Zoro several choice names before heading out to start the day while Zoro goes to sleep satisfied he got the chance to bug the blonde one last time before going to sleep.)

And maybe he keeps doing it.

Not every night, but sometimes he finds he would rather lay down in an already warm bed, particularly if they are traveling through colder sections of the grandline.

Sometimes he still manages to flip the other man out of the hammock just by jumping into it himself. Knows the blonde will make the day interesting in retaliation. Looks forward to it.

And then maybe at one point, he lays down gently, softly tells the cook its time to get up, and maybe Sanji takes his time opening his eyes, stretching out his legs, enjoying the transition to wakefulness.

Maybe it becomes a thing they do sometimes. Silently enjoying each others company as Sanji wakes up and Zoro drifts to sleep. Enjoying the closeness in a bed not built for two.

Maybe the others have woken up and caught sight of the pair curled up together in the early morning. But they would simply roll over and go back to sleep, leaving the two to their morning ritual.

And if Zoro still shoves Sanji off the hammock sometimes, well, the others are used to waking up to that too

The Strings Attached

You’ve known this doll for quite a long time, they’re rare but you still know plenty, and this one has been a dear friend for a long time, even if you don’t get to speak that often. However, those few times you do speak, you always feel like something’s off. Not an uncommon feeling, but this is different from other dolls. You were never able to place it in all your time knowing it, so tonight you vowed to make sure you knew what it was, one way or another.

You two sit at a cafe over tea, at an outdoor table under nothing but the sky. You and the doll have been talking for almost an hour now and you’ve not asked yet. It’s not that it doesn’t afford you a chance to, you just can’t bring yourself to ask. Okay, you have to do it now, or else you’ll have to wait until next time.

But once you muster up the courage, something catches your eye, and you finally understand. Small breaks in the light, just above the doll. You have no idea how you didn’t notice them until now. As you watch, you notice little movements that were not the dolls alone. Holding its hand steadier than usual as it drinks from a freshly filled glass, gently moving its hand to the glass to ensure it drinks some. Slight posture changes, nothing outright noticeable if you weren’t looking for it.

“Is something wrong?” Wait, there’s something else.

“No, I guess there was just a bit more caffeine than usual.” A slight lie, one that you could feel did not go unnoticed.

“Ah, I see.” There it is again. Its mouth moves normally to the sound, but the sound isn’t coming from the doll itself. As you continue talking, you can hear the contrast clearly now. Some lines are spoken from its voicebox, but others come from just above the doll.

Now that you know it’s there, you can’t help but catch yourself looking at the strings every now and again…

…And you can feel them looking back.
