Are the Chain scared of the Fierce Deity Mask? Are they scared of the transformation? Worried about what it’s doing to Time’s body? Worried he might not be able to turn back one day? who knows the most about it? Warriors I presume probably knows the most having seen Mask using it during the War of Ages.
Yes anon. Yes to all of the above.
The nuances depend on who knows what. How much had Warriors seen during the war? Had he only known FD as this mysterious warrior that showed up to save him and then disappeared or did he actually witness young Time's transformation/detransformation?
Warriors has experience in possession and dark magic, even if he doesn't quite understand the FD's deal since young Time would be pretty clamped up about Termina (probably wasn't too long ago for him). But, just seeing the tattoos on the old man's face now would be enough for the ever sharp Captain put two and two together: every transformation has a cost, the longer he leaves it on the longer it leaves its mark, what happens when the markings complete themselves...when will that be...? After this one? The next one?
Just seeing Warriors' reaction to Time putting on the mask: crying out desperately to just wait, that they can make it out of this without it...he's afraid, more afraid than any of them have seen him. This man, usually so calm and level headed even when the tide of battle shifts way out of their favour, losing his mind over a funny mask that looks kinda like Time.
It worries and frightens them all, Twilight slightly differently. He knows Time's fate, he knows he dies with regrets, grudges, a reason to still wander the world until lain to rest. Is this what killed him? Either directly or by driving him to madness? Is the scar over his eye related to a prior transformation?
There are also the AUs. @breannasfluff has a fantastic series called Eldritch Wild, and his interactions with FD are so alien to the rest of the chain and so much fun to read.
TL;DR FD is terrifying, unknowable, uncontrollable.

Chapter 27: The Demon from Termina
“What the fuck is that thing?!” Wild suddenly screamed as the Temple’s keeper finally showed up.
“Time clearly knows the creature.” Legend pointed out while glaring absolutely the sharpest daggers he could muster into the odd being of red, yellow, blue, green and violet.
The Champion took another picture and bit jumped when his Slate gave a clear sound of having new information within it. “We’re about to know soon!” He exclaimed while swiftly sharing the screen into third part so they could keep check on the situation as well as of the map. He swiftly went through the images of the monsters until he found the newest creature in his folder.
“Majora.” Sky read from beneath the picture. The others shrugged while glancing at each other in check of if anyone recognized the name. As no-one other than Time seemed to know the Temple’s keeper, the master archer opened the info part of the creature and began to read:
“Majora (Deity / Demon)
Majora was said to be a twin brother to Fierce Deity. As Fierce Deity is the God of Protection, Majora Deity is the God of Destruction. Even though brothers, the God of Protection did the ultimate action and turned the God of Destruction into a mask and hid him well from anyone seeking for his power. God of Destruction had his followers whom deceived the God of Protection and returned the favor by turning him into a mask too.
Majora’s Mask was eventually found by an ordinary man whom called himself as the Happy Mask Salesman. He understood the dangers the mask possessed and did his best to keep it safe from wrong hands. Majora, having been found, had no intentions of staying as he was. Yet, the Happy Mask Salesman was too aware of the danger to end up possessed by the mask. Majora needed someone far more innocent and pure at heart.
While traveling through the lands of Termina, the—“
“Termina!” Seven Heroes suddenly shouted and interrupted Wild’s reading. “That’s the lands Time saved during his second quest!” Wind exclaimed shocked.
“Well, we certainly found the one at fault.” Warriors growled while not liking at all about what was happening within the Temple.
“Can I continue?” Wild inquired bit indignantly.
“I’m not sure we should check more.” Twilight worried while feeling contradicted. He wanted to know more but then again he felt like it was Time’s right to explain things by himself. “It is about Time’s life we’re going to find out about.” He reminded while glancing around his brothers.
“It is about Time’s past but to some of us it is also legends told from generation to generation.” Four countered while feeling equally uncertain of what was the right decision to make.
“That’s bit rough when the guy’s entirely alive and traveling with us.” Legend partly snapped but it was brought out only by worry and fear for their leader’s safety and wellbeing.
“I can’t deny of being curious. And Time doesn’t really talk about his second quest even when we ask about it.” Hyrule pointed out while bit slumping and giving sheepish expression.
“I’m sure there’s actually a very good reason for that.” Twilight stated out bit rougher than what he meant to.
“Nonetheless, that’s one vengeful Deity.” Sky growled while knowing how Demise had found a way to keep tormenting those the Chosen Hero now called as his brothers.
“Yeah.” Wild half whispered while the others simply nodded. “While Ganon hates all of us, that asshole’s only going after Time.” The words came out as a growl.
“It certainly would come after each of us if we had a chance to tear it apart for what it’s doing to Sprite.” Warriors snarled while hoping the Demon felt his rage as he glared at it through that screen of Wild’s Slate.
“Maybe then we should get to know more about the enemy if we ever get that chance?” Wild suggested while raising an eyebrow. The Captain glanced around at the way too tempting way of explaining why they’d know more about his little brother’s second quest than what Time had so far given out. The uncertain nods eventually got him to give the rights to keep reading.
“While traveling through the lands of Termina, the Happy Mask Salesman was jumped by the local Skull Kid. The eternally young being Child of the Forest was childish and mischievous but the species never meant any harm in any of way. Yet, this was exactly what Majora’s Mask needed and he lured the young one to the mask. Skull Kid never had a chance against the Demon’s possession and the mask was on his face despite his desperate attempts to fight against it.
With a body and life form overtaken, Majora fled the scene to cause the destruction he was the God of. The mischief of Skull Kid became cruel and harmful. Curses were placed upon all continents of the lands. People suffered in many ways. And yet, most attempted to deny what they were seeing.
Termina was in luck as the young Hero of Time, aged ten but seen far too much in his life despite of his young age, came to the area in search of a lost friend. Majora found a new toy to play with through him and jumped him as Skull Kid had jumped the Happy Mask Salesman.
Cursed into the form of a Deku Scrub, the form taken from close by unfortunate soul whom the spell killed, the Hero of Time had no other choice than to embark on another quest. Besides this cruelty, the Ocarina of Time was stolen from his hold and his trusty steed Epona had been scared away. He had more than one worry to deal with.
When the Hero of Time finally, after three days from his arrival, faced Majora, he wasn’t capable of defeating him. The Goddess of Time intervened and turned those three days into a loop with the Song of Time.
Majora attempted countless different plans to both torment and to kill the young Hero. Yet, with the Goddess of Time aiding the Hero of Time with his quest as well as she could, the Demon’s plans fell as apart as everyone’s memory of the happenings did. She had not realized how long it would take to fully get everything sorted out and how the constantly getting forgotten by the people of Termina would affect the young Hero of Time whom had already done time traveling by then.
After those countless restarts of the time loop and having awakened the Guardian Deities, the Four Giants of Termina, the Hero of Time finally was capable of facing Majora. Alas, the fight did not go well as he refused to use a powerful mask given to him by one of the Moon Children. The simple reason for this refusal of using the new mask was the lack of acceptance from the one whose soul was trapped into the said mask.
Several more time loops through, several more times refusing to let the moon to crash and Fierce Deity finally gave the Hero of Time the rights to use his mask. Together they defeated Majora and set the Skull Kid, as well as whole Termina, free from the God of Destruction’s hold. Yet, the God of Protection, realizing how strong and dangerous his brother was even as a mask, purified the mask of his brother’s existence with the Hero of Time’s aid. The Hero, now titled twice, was unaware of what the Demon was to the God of Protection as he gave his Light Magic into the usage of the God of Protection to be rid of the one at fault of the danger of the world’s destruction.
Majora, even though defeated, is a Deity, a God, and hence never truly gone. This is why the Demons across time are unconsciously aware of each other’s existence. They do not get full knowledge of how things have gone to their counterparts but they do get strong feelings and some certain knowledge from one another. And hence, the Hero of Time is the one each of them are searching for. They know of his triumph over one of them and hence are up for destroying him in any way possible.”
As Wild read the legend connected into Majora, he and his brothers felt the cold shivers run down their backs more often than not. The Champion was grateful that he didn’t need to hold the Slate as he was certain he would’ve dropped the device from his sweaty hands. And yet, as he was certain his brothers felt it too, he was nearly shivering from cold.
“Fierce Deity…” Warriors half whispered and gulped once. “The markings Sprite has on his face… Those are half of Fierce Deity’s markings.”
The rest of the Chain was rendered silent by that line. They gulped when they recalled Time’s words back when they had gone through the masks. “’Besides, with a legend like that, I’d be far more afraid of what destroyed the demon.’” Legend quoted and gulped. “T-that’s what Time said. A-as well as ‘I knew a salesman who coveted it.’”
“Oh Goddesses!” Wild exclaimed in shock. “He was talking about the mask I showed! That freaky one with spikes and bright colors! T-that… That’s the one he’s fighting against?!”
Wind snorted and grinned. “Time was talking about himself when he pointed to be more afraid of who destroyed the Demon.” He pointed out triumphantly. “Damn, he’s awesome!”
“Well, our awesome oldest brother has just seen all eight of us die.” Four deadpanned as he flinched about what was going on within the Temple. “Is that the God of Protection’s mask?”
“Yeah, it is.” Warriors confirmed and gulped once. “Sprite will certainly make Majora pay for what he’s done. And you seven are going to see Fierce Deity in action.” He stated out while the clammy feeling of fear and worry returned even stronger than what it had been as Wild gave out Majora’s past.

Got these lads some better references! Not complete ones, but they're still pretty good.
Here are the 8 Links I'm planning on including! I have general characterization concepts for all the others, but they were being kinda annoying designs. I might include em as I continue to figure out this AU, but for now here's what I got!
Our very first hero! I don't really consider the SS prequel manga canon here so Sky's the very first holder of the Hero's spirit. He's a very kind soul, protective of those he cares for and holding the endless determination and courage of any hero.
After the end of Skyward Sword, Sky's taken up a bit of an 'ambassador to the surface' type role, educating those who've come down with while Zelda spends as much time as she can with her family on Skyloft. Though the scars from his fight with Demise still twinge, Sky's happy to move forward with his life on the surface.
Minish is our youngest member, but that doesn't mean you can underestimate him. Minish is quiet, playful, and endlessly curious. He's the best spy this chain has, able to shrink down to the size of a mouse and be completely invisible to everyone but fellow children.
After saving Zelda from being encased in stone and having her light force drained, Minish simply seeks to spend his time enjoying his childhood with his best friend and learning to forge a sword as good as the four sword.
Mask is our resident angst, his life has been far too hard. Mask is mysterious, closed off, and talented. With the body of a teenager and the mind of a young adult, this lad has plenty of tricks up his sleeve.
Resuming his travels after Termina, Mask finds himself looking for somewhere to belong. He's travelled to Labrynna, Holodrum, Koradai, and yet the only place he really felt any sense of family remains in that strange war with Tune and Captain. Perhaps, someday, he'll find his way back to them.
Tune's our resident navigator! He can read and create maps and starcharts like no other, plus he knows his way around a boat. Despite the more pirat-y aesthetic, Tune's really a sweetheart. Sure, he enjoys finding abandoned treasure and sailing, but he's hardly a ruthless bounty hunter or thief. He just loves meeting people, and wants to help anywhere he can. A trait practically required for the hero life.
After his adventures, Tune's living a life of travel on the Great Sea. He has his own boat, but broadly he sails with Tetra, the two finding buried treasures from Hyrule. He's always had that itch to go somewhere, to do something, and maybe he's about to get exactly what he wants.
Wolf's a bit of a mysterious edgy man himself, but this time it's all appearances. Our resident furry is just a big huggable rancher with a protective streak when it comes to his family. He's amazing with animals, and with the help of a certain amazing nose, he can track basically anything.
I'm diverging from canon a lot here. Midna's never shattered the mirror of twilight in this universe, she's just not around in the light world because it would hurt to be anything more than a shadow there. Instead, after their adventure Wolf and her hang out frequently. Wolf's pretty content with his lot in life, he's got his family, his home, and his best friend. Really, what more could he ask for?
Unabashed favorite character alert, Four's a bit of an asshole. Like, they're very heroic and frankly, often right, but they've still got an arrogance problem. They're fiercely loyal and incredibly smart, and will take the role as supposed leader because frankly, no one else wants the title.
After returning the Four Sword with Vaati and Ganon completely obliterated, Four's gone back to their life as a knight. There's still a fierce purple ache in their chest for a certain Shadow, but the teal confidence easily shoves that to the side in favor of being the perfect warrior. Now, Four's rising through the ranks of Hyrule's guard, ready for whatever challenge comes next.
Wild fits their name very well. They're quick to explore every mountain and valley, loot every chest, and find every korok. Incredibly different from the Link from before the Calamity, they share memories but not so much experiences. Wild is the best archer in the group, even without their champion ability.
I can't quite decide whether I want Wild to be pre or post TOTK, but it doesn't make too terribly much of a difference. After his adventure he continues to explore Hyrule and the lands beyond it. He's verrryyy close with his Zelda, and the two like to do a bit of mad science with Purah every so often. He's happy with his new lease in life, but if the chance comes to explore something new? Well, Wild's definitely going to take it.
Cap's here! And he's a bit of a mess. Traumatized from his fights with Cia and Dark Link, Captain has trouble being confident in himself at all anymore. He's always been naturally confident, but ever since that first battle with Dark, Captain's been suppressing that part of himself. He's a very skilled leader and tactician, with the most experience working with a large group.
After the war Captain.. didn't really know what to do with himself. His friends had left, and there was no longer anything to fight against. He decided to dedicate himself to being a guard, but he still felt a little empty. He's never really moved on from the events of the war, but maybe soon he'll return to some old friends.

Are the "deaths" of older Kirby characters unserious?
For all the Kirby characters that are believed to have "died", I wonder if the ones in earlier periods of the series are not actually seriously dead.
The newer, Kumazaki era Kirby characters that have died are much more legitimate. Sectonia is absolutely 100% dead without a doubt. Same for Max Haltmann and Star Dream, as well as Void Termina. I also believe Fecto Elfilis to be dead, since the Forgo half is gone and Chaos Elfilis absorbed into Elfilin. I'm sure that Elfilin will be all that's left of Fecto Elfilis, meaning the original unsplit creature is a goner.
But what about the pre-Kumazaki Kirby characters that are believed to have "died"? It appears they're much less certain. It's ambiguous.
Marx looks like he died at the end of Milky Way Wishes. That impact onto Nova absolutely looks more than enough to kill Marx. How could he have survived that? He also doesn't appear for a very long time after Super Star and its remake. He's been absent in a lot of Kirby games, which can also lead to the belief that he died after MWW.
Although he does appear in Mass Attack... but I have doubts on its canonicity.
... And then he comes back in Star Allies! Seemingly out of nowhere. It's kind of funny that the lore never explains how the hell Marx survived his encounter with Kirby and just randomly comes back, now deciding he wants to team up with Kirby to stop Void Termina.
I get the sense that HAL didn't really think much of Marx's "death" like they thought of Sectonia's death. Marx came from an era where lore wasn't really a thing, so it's harder to take his death seriously.
It's still funny to think how the hell he survived the Nova impact, though. I guess he was just really durable? And I mean, Kirby does survive big impacts, such as Star Dream's explosion after destroying it, so I guess if Kirby could survive them, Marx probably could as well.
I can, of course, bring up my headcanon that Marx was barely durable enough to survive the Nova impact, but he was gravely injured. The only reason he survived is because Magolor and the Lor Starcutter showed up at the right time to save him.
Also, didn't it look like that Dark Meta Knight died at the end of Amazing Mirror when the mirror got shattered? It kinda did. But just like Marx, he also comes back out of nowhere for Star Allies with no explanation as to how he survived and got to the point of helping out.
I'm aware he also appears in Triple Deluxe's Dededetour, but I've always been incredibly loose about considering side modes as canon. Or I guess it's extra proof that older character "deaths" are unserious.
What does this mean for other pre-Kumazaki Kirby characters that may have "died"? Such as Nightmare, the many leaders of Dark Matter (Blade, Zero, Zero-Two) and Drawcia? Are they still alive?
If Marx was thought to have "died" but then survived and is still around, who's to say that couldn't also be the case for Nightmare?
Nightmare has not appeared for a long time after Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. In fact I'm pretty sure the only other appearance he's made in the series is... a parallel version of him in Super Kirby Clash, and I think that's basically it.
But Marx was similar! He didn't show up for a bunch of games after Super Star. And then he just randomly shows up in Star Allies lmao.
Maybe Nightmare is still out there, recuperating for a long time after Kirby kicked his ass. Perhaps he could be planning his next attack as he tries to become much, much, much stronger than he was before.
And maybe Dark Matter could make a return. Maybe one of the Dark Matter leaders in the DMT games could be recuperating and planning a new attack, or a brand new Dark Matter leader could exist.
I think it'd be awesome of Nightmare or Dark Matter were to come back as villains in future Kirby games. There's huge amounts of potential for how powerful they could be in the Kumazaki era. They could easily expand on these villains' powers and motivations.
Imagine if Nightmare grew stronger and, instead of making only Dream Landers have nightmares, what if he was able to make multiple planets or even the whole universe have nightmares? They didn't really push his potential far enough, in my opinion. And Dark Matter could be a lot more ferocious and scary in the Kumazaki era.
HAL didn't really seem to confirm Nightmare's or Dark Matter's deaths the same way they did for Sectonia and Haltmann. Maybe they could still be out there. And maybe they could attack again?
Just a cool thought, in my opinion.
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

Link and Beginning the Hero's Journey
So the hero's journey usually starts with a "call to adventure"- an inciting incident of some kind that leads the hero to leave their home and embark on the journey. The call to adventure can be anything from an official summoning to an attack on one's hometown, but that's not what we're talking about here. Every LOZ adventure starts with a Call to Adventure, but not all start with a commonality that I've noticed among the games, which I'm going to call the Blessing to Leave.
What's the Blessing to Leave? Basically it's a moment early in the game, usually after the tutorial and the Call to Adventure, where someone from Link's hometown or someone who's been guiding him through the tutorial section gives him "permission" to go out and save Hyrule. I'm mostly focusing on the 3D games here and there are 2 that stand out as not having this moment: Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess. And those two particular games, unlike most, Link almost returns to the original status quo at the beginning of the game rather moving into the new status quo established in the end.
Here are examples of the Blessing as I'm talking about it:
Ocarina: Saria gives Link her Ocarina, tells him not to forget her and wishes him luck as he goes to meet with Zelda. At the end, Link goes to Zelda to tell her about Ganondorf, which creates a new timeline. Now this Link is a bit of an oddity but I'll come back to him.
Wind Waker: Link is given the shield from his grandma after Aryll is captured, and in the end he journeys with Tetra to find a new Hyrule, with the implication that the people from the Great Sea will join them after they do.
Skyward Sword: Link is given permission by Kaepora to go down to the surface to find Zelda. At the end, Link and Zelda choose to stay on the surface and they're probably going to found the kingdom of Hyrule.
BOTW (and TOTK): Link is guided in the tutorial by the King and Rauru respectively, after which he receives his paraglider and the map of Hyrule is opened up to him. At the end of BOTW, Link and Zelda set out to explore Hyrule together and at the of TOTK Zelda, Link and the Sages kind of prepare to take up the mantle of Rauru and the former Sages to protect Hyrule.
Majora's Mask: Link is attacked by Skull Kid and ends up falling into Termina. He does not get his "blessing" here and in the end, he goes back to the status quo from the beginning of the story where he's looking for Navi. We know he never finds her, and while this Link may have found fulfillment in life, he still became Hero's Shade to wait for the next Link, unable to move on until he can train his next incarnation.
and speaking of Twilight Princess...
Twilight Princess: Link is violently abducted from his town and imprisoned by Zant, after which he and Midna immediately start the journey to save Hyrule. No one from his home town gives him the "Blessing" though you could argue the Light Spirit giving him the hero's gear and telling him about his destiny is kind of a blessing. But no one from his home town gives him permission-- in fact, Ilia straight up tells him not to "do anything out of his league." These goat herders are holding him back. Clearly Link thinks so too because at the end of the game, Link returns to Ordon... and then leaves on Epona again, and it's kind of implied he's not going to return.
The Links who don't get the Blessing to Leave don't ease into the new status quo, rather they have to leave, usually alone, and figure it out themselves. The Hero of Time ultimately becomes a shade waiting for the next Link to appear, and the Hero of Twilight strikes out on his own, his fate ultimately unknown.
It's just an interesting pattern I've noticed. Happens in a lot of 2D games too (Link gets the Blessing in LttP and ST for example but not in Link's Awakening). I'm tired and I have a headache so feel free to tell me if I mistyped anything.

Alright so this design choice is going to take some explanation and I feel I should have done the designs in a different order but I also really wanted to do Ravio next so I apologize for any confusion. I will explain below before I start the details of Ravio's adventures
EXPLANATION So having played Tears of the Kingdom I figured I wanted the Zonai/Minish to play a larger role in the story instead of showing up and then disappearing, even though they still disappear in the end. So locations that are not Hyrule/Hytopia are now within the "Sacred Realm". The Zonai, and a number of their Minish companions, were trapped initially within a prison of Ganon's corrupted creation (Termina) and were later freed through Goddess intervention, once released they were unable to return to the world of light and thus built new lives. Midna and by extension Hilda and Ravio are the distant descendants of those Zonai. The Twilight Realm Timeline also acts separately from the Hyrule timeline so is not affected by the break caused by Ocarina of Time. Due to this the Twilight realm has interacted with the "Child Timeline" through Twilight Princess as well as the "Downfall Timeline" through Link Between Worlds. Koholint from Link's Awakening is a special case though that I will explain further later
BEFORE THE ADVENTURE Ravio is a guard and representative to the Twilight Realm Kingdom of Lorule, he's traveled and worked to build relations between the Twili Kingdoms of Subrosia, Holodrum and Labrynna. During his travels he's made friends in the different Kingdoms and built a reputation for himself across the Twilight Realm. His companion during these travels has been Sheerow, a descendant of the minish, specifically sky minish, who were trapped by the Corrupted Ganon with the Zonai. Her family has lived with Ravio's and the two have been practically inseparable since Ravio first started walking. Sheerow acts more as a protective older sister from time to time and steers Ravio away from trouble more often then not. When growing up Ravio heard legends of a Divine Beast that had a humanoid form who had helped the Twili Queen at the time save their realm and desired to be a hero just like them.
DURING THE ADVENTURE After building relations with the other kingdoms Lorule receives requests from their neighbors and Ravio is sent to help them. He starts in Holodrum and it's neighboring kingdom Subrosia before heading to Labrynna. On his journey back to Lorule, Ravio's transport is destroyed and he finds himself on an island inhabited by individuals unlike himself. Those on this island explain that the island is called Koholint. Clearing the island of monsters, again creatures that are strange to him and not common to the Twilight Realm, Ravio learns of the "WindFish" a creature sleeping and how Koholint is a land caught in a "dream". Despite knowing what will happen should the "WindFish" wake Ravio defeats the final monster and wakes the "WindFish" thus destroying the dream and when he comes to finds himself back in Lorule with only the memory of the Island as no one else has heard of Koholint or the "WindFish".
After finding himself back at Lorule he tries to return to his duties. Though he starts noticing changes in Hilda's demeanor and personality that worry him and when Yuga steps in Ravio ends up hearing the plan and realizing this is something that he will be unable to fix himself. Recalling the legends past of the Divine Beast and it's world of Origin Ravio sets out to find a way to that World of Legend.
Before leaving he realized that the light from this other world was written in legend to hurt the previous queen so he worked to cover his skin as much as possible to protect himself before he was able to locate the hero. Much of his time in this World of Light was spent in the Prince's old family home, acting as a renter of fine weapons that the Prince was able to use to save his sister and the other's trapped by Yuga, with Sheerow acting as the collector should these weapons be "Misplaced".
AFTER THE ADVENTURE Prince Link and his sister Princess Zelda returned home after Lorule was saved and the gates between their worlds were once again broken. Ravio understood it was probably for the best and tried to ignore the longing for the World of Light. He was later surprised to find that Hilda was working on a new gate between the worlds, explaining it was a replica of an artifact called the "Mirror of Twilight" that the Queen of the past had shattered. Hilda figured that if only a true royal were able to shatter it fully then only a true royal would be able to replicate it. From there Ravio did his best to assist his queen though he was only able to understand so much of the project.
Here is also a close up of Sheerow cause I love her too much to leave her as a small image

Incoherent rambles time!
I remember a popular theory from Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask being that our hero Link is dead and this strange nightmarish wonderland he ends up in is somewhat of an afterlife.
It was a bit goofy but it wasn't completely devoid of merit. Due to the extremely short development time, the land of Termina has most character models being reused assets from its predecessor Ocarina of Time without much in universe explanation besides the fact that Link fell down a tree stump Alice In Wonderland style. It helps add to this already unnerving atmosphere because its so familiar and yet not. Some of these characters were dead in the future, even enemies, but here everything is different and we don't know why.
There are several themes of death itself within the game's premise, where we repeatedly interact with these residents lives when there's a falling moon literally hanging over them and set to obliterate everything in three days time. You get to see them react in those last days, some in denial or ignorance or while putting on a brave face or trying to escape it. Again, and again, and again. Literally, it's the ultimate angsty time loop story. Your main mask based powers are gifted to you by the spirits of the recently departed. You even have an entire region that's mostly a lot of restless dead folks.
But discounting the fact that the hero of time later lived into adulthood to pass on his teachings to the next hero as a ghost for a moment, I like to think this theme of death isn't centered around Link, but more about his previous traveling companion and Link's eventual acceptance of that.
This is the hero who lost everything the last game. The hero who saved a terrible future that doesn't exist now. The hero whose deeds nobody remembers, who can't go back to his old life anymore after too much has happened already. And the real kicker is (besides maybe the princess) the one being who knows what happened as well is gone.
The game gives a simple audio jingle to explain why Link is in the forest at the start of the game: he's looking for Navi. I don't think it was ever explained why Navi left at the end of the last game, but it's safe to assume this Link will never see the fairy companion again. But he's still looking anyway.
With this lens in mind, it seems like no coincidence Link's companion on this adventure is yet another fairy who's the only other being aware of each and every pass across time. Every path crossed, every person helped, every moment others will completely forget once the clock is run back. I would like to think the familiarity of the situation isn't lost to Link, something that can think on from time to time.
At the end of the game though when the hero is back in those woods again? Who knows. Perhaps Link will continue to wander to more unknown lands, helping even more folks along the way. Perhaps he will continue searching for Navi. Or perhaps Navi will never come back and he's okay with it.
Just something neat I thought I would rant on. Thanks for reading!

The tears of an angel Part 2:
Heya so this is part 2 of my lore ^^" it got a bit more details and conversation but yeah this time around you're following Ange and....yeah. i let you see for yourself. Again this is like a résumé so there's not everything but it's the base that need to be set to understand the part 3. I hope you'l enjoy 👋
Warning: death, child kidnapping, violence
Here's part 1 if you didnt read it yet
Part 2:
The body taken from earth and from the god of war and wrath, the golden three decided to experiment on it. The body was pure, a perfect vassal and with that light powers too now…But something else as well…They couldn’t put it directly. But they knew she needed to be kept an eye on at all times. They woke her up, the girl mark from the war from a hundred years ago, the princess forgotten from history was now reborn.
-Your name is Ange, your the servant of the young goddess Hylia
I told you it wouldn’t be happy. The worst part, Fierce deity had seen her when they woke her up…He saw what they did… And to say he was furious would be an understatement, seeing her stand next to Hylia like it was her place, when she had fought so hard to save her people while the goddess had just stayed up there watching everything. The god couldn’t take it… He left the decade after to go watch back over termina. He couldn’t handle watching the previously bright young woman he knew like that. And of course…As you know thousand of years later he ended up as a mask, trapped for all eternity with a broken heart thinking about the dying woman in his arms that he wasn’t able to save.
But you know how we can make a story even more tragic?
With a simple conversation Soléa, now Ange had heard not long after the “start” of her existence.
Are you sure?
Yes, I saw it with my own two eyes. Not long after she woke up, the triforce reacted!
What do you mean it reacted?!
It means what it means! I think something happened that day! It would explain why “she” is like that too!
So your saying….
Yes….A simple mortal can ascend…
Understand what you understand, but let’s go back to our story shall we?
For the next hundred years passing, Ange had been to the service of the goddess Hylia who acted with her like a friend. She was her servant, she was constantly serious, almost emotionless while the goddess was more cheerful somehow watching over the hylian who had now make statues of her (despite never having seen her before: i would like for everyone to take a look at the girls design again your smart cookies you’ll understand)
Until one day, she brings the young angel to show her something, with the return of demise after being sealed for a long time, the goddess explains she had chosen herself a hero to take over the task to slay demise and help seal them again. Looking at the girl's reaction the goddess smiled when Ange told her of her worry of the goddess trusting a simple human that probably wasn’t worthy of her trust. To which the goddess admits having spent time with him on earth a few times to talk.
That very night in the god realm the goddess asked her servant to make a sword for her hero. A sword pure enough to seal evil away. She gave her one year.
Truly indeed a sad life for a single girl with already 2 different lifes on the paper.
Half a year later…The first sword was done, she even had a detail, the red gem from a necklace she couldn’t remember where she got it. But she used it anyway, the sword was simple, a rapier, dark from the metal she used. She even used a concentration of her power and a wandering soul to give the sword a life. The goddess ask her to do so in the first place, but with her minimum power it would clearly stay asleep for a very long time
The golden three saw the sword…They threw it down on earth. It wasn’t worthy of use, they said while the blond saw her work, her creation, land below on the earth with no way to get it back. So with no other choices, she got back to work, a new sword was made just in time and Hylia even asked her to come with to give the sword to her hero without knowing that her mistress would ask her to accompany the young man on his and her periple as she had things to do too.
Now from that the only thing i’m going to say is that there’s only one step between hate and love. It describes their situation well. From our angel not wanting anything to do with the hero. To our hero being curious of that servant of the goddess with a strong personality and an immaculate pair of wings. Over time they grew closer…But someone wasn’t happy with this and as you saw in the nightmare he had before (for all eternity) you can understand it wasn’t pretty. For 5 years the hero was held captive for false accusation when really all the goddess wanted was to keep him on hand when demise would be back.
5 long years of torture for the hero, around the same time for Ange being watch over by everyone on the golden realm being a paria…more than before.
After some long “negotiation”..., well more like “blackmail” between the hero and the goddess however everything seems to have gone back to normal, right? They were finally together and the goddess even promised to not try to get Ange back no matter what…
But again, this isn’t a happy story.
Demise is back, the fight with the little group of allies they got isn’t fair, many died that painful day when finally the goddess decided to act by sending the hylians up in the skies…not everyone was this lucky.
The body of the hero limb in her arms as she watch the light in his eyes fade with his last words
For… all eternity… I love you my angel…
You thought it was the worst part? I have better for you your gonna hate the goddess who sends children to war even more.
Ange was expecting a child. Yes you hear me right. But not long after she gave birth…
Where are you going?! Why are you taking my baby?! You can’t take him! You have no right!!!
The damage was already done…Four men serving the goddesses were holding her down as she screamed in rage thrashing around and yelling at the top of her lungs, the very wall of the temple trembling as she cursed the goddesses while they walk away holding the child saying it was for everyone interest and she would thanks them…not today, but someday.
The child that was barely a month old was given like a miracle to a family who couldn’t have children on skyloft… You're already crying/fulming? That's not all.
Ange had tried to go down on skyloft to get her child back… But again..Time in the god realm…Isn’t the same as the one on earth…Time go faster on earth…The child as already grow…He was a young child believing the one raising him were his parents… Ange wanted to cry and scream…she couldn’t take him from them…He had already grow so much…He didn’t knew who she was. Plus troubles were after all, at all times after her with the golden three plus Hylia, and someone was already looking for her to get her back. She goes back to the god realm, anger and rage in her heart for the goddesses. They kept a tight hand around her after that, making sure she couldn’t go back on earth anytime soon.
But seeing her hatred for so long the goddess of courage let her sneak away one day after leaving her a note…Guilt was hitting at her from all the horrible things they did to hylian kinds for their own plan…
“You need to hurry”
On skyloft in front of that door she saw years ago she hesitated before knocking. A young woman opened the door, a surprised look on her face to see a woman with wings. The woman wasn’t the one she saw years ago with her child…With the time passing Ange was even worried that it was probably too late already.
The sound of a cane coming to the door, a short old man with white hair, a beard…And deep familiar blue eyes. The old man waves the younger woman off and stands in front of the angel.
……I’ve been waiting for you…would you mind taking a walk?
Ange just nodded and moved to the side, the old man closed the door behind him before linking his arm with her for support, he didn’t hesitate. Looking at him Ange knew he didn’t have much time left to live… But he look paisible
You know, life here is quite paisible. When I was 6 I became friends with a white loftwing. It’s those big birds you can see in the sky. It was a very mischievous one, once it even left me on top of the goddess statue because I had forgotten to bring him snacks. I was young back then, maybe 17. My futur wife had to get me down herself, it was so embarrassing. He laugh
Ange looked at him surprised but nod, looking at the gigantic birds, they reminded her of another bird she knew long ago as he continued.
I’ve always loved the color white, for as long as I can remember. He laughed deep in his thoughts. I’ve been married for 60 years, have 3 children, two boys and one girl. And I have 6 grandchildren, all adorable kids.
T-that a lot. She answered with surprise and confusion as to why he was telling her all that…He didn’t know who she was, after all she didn’t introduce herself.
Indeed it is. He laughed with a cough that almost sent him on the ground if Ange wasn't holding him. I’m sorry, let’s continue to the goddess statue, it’s always peaceful there. Not many people come there.
Ange just nodded as the old man was basically dragging her with him, saying hello to all the villagers like the fact he was with her was normal, bought some fruits at the bazar even before they reached the statue and sat under a tree. Ange uses her healing ability to ease his pain when he starts to cough again.
My parents were good people. They raised me to have respect, courage, being nice and always to help people around skyloft if they needed help… He said with a sigh. He hadn’t stopped speaking since they left the house. He was getting weaker from all that, plus the walking and surmenage.
They seemed like nice people… Ange nod. The old man turned his head to look at her.
They were indeed… They even told me I was a miracle in their life. One day a strange woman knocked on their door and handed me to them. When they asked her who my parents were, she just told them “good people” and that my mother couldn’t take care of me. He sighs again, some tears in his eyes. She left after giving them my name… I always wondered if my mother would have come to see me one day. I always imagined that she was some kind of knight and she would come to tell me all of her adventures, the people she knew, told me about her life, her likes and dislikes…But most of all. He turned his head to look at her. Why couldn't she take me with her……
From the look on the old man's face Ange knew, he knew…The little baby she wasn’t able to take care of for more than a month and was taking from her arms was in front of her, old and close to the afterlife doors, her throat got tighter.
….How?
The old man laugh
I don’t know, instinct? Your scent was familiar somehow… like an old memory I hold on to for years. He laugh. Somehow…I remembered you look… familiar too.
…..Do….Don’t you hate me? She ask trying to hold herself together
I don’t…I never did… But I think I’ve talked enough… Can you tell me about your life? I’m glad to finally meet you and I like to hear what happened to you. He says and leans his head on the shoulder of the blond with a deep breath, closing his eyes.
The rest you can imagine…But our story still doesn't end here. After hours of talking, trying to catch the lost time the goddesses stole from her with her child. He gave his last breath the same day under that tree in her arms after calling her “mother” once. Under the big sleeves of his tunic he had a small bracelet at his wrist with two feathers as white as snow…One she recognised as hers…
After that she goes back to the house leaving her son to rest under the tree and inform his granddaughter of what happened before coming back up to the god realm.
She didn’t shed any tears as she walked inside the temple by the front door, everyone looking at her like she grew a second head, realizing she disobeyed the goddesses order. But no one dared to speak or even attempt to stop her as the rage in her eyes and the energy around her was enough to make the golden three themself and Hylia take a step back. They took her child from her, only to have her see him take his final breath. She was going to make them pay. There’s only one step between love and hate, and she has nothing on the other side of the line to hold her back now.
You said I would thank you one day. Well here’s my thanks.
That night she almost destroyed the entire temple with her bare hands. The only sound resonating in the entire realm being her scream. A cry of pure hatred and sadness, similar to the cry of a dragon in pain/rage.
Of course this is only a shorter version of their stories to get to the point I want to take you, which is the next part. (even if you got a pretty big one already ^^”)
End of Part 2

Oh yes this is all very good points!
You've also brought to mind the implications of "What actually happens next?" for the Hero. The stuff Nintendo rarely touches on.
Throughout the Zelda series, every Link we've met has been between the ages of 10-17. In most cases it's when they are a teenager, before entering adulthood. The only exception is the Hero from the Skyward Sword prequel manga, who looks about in his 20s.
Now, given that the Hero has to face challenges and expected to burden the fate of a kingdom so suddenly when they are so young, how can they be expected to go to a normal life after that? Where would they go from there?
There are only a few Links that we know of that got some kind of epilogue:
- Hero of the Sky: Goes to live on the Surface with Zelda and the rest of Skyloft. We don't know if he and Zelda marry - but I think it's obvious that he would choose to stay by her side in some way.
- Hero of Time: The one who gets the most in terms of an epilogue. Confirmed to have been sent back in time to his childhood (the Adult Timeline), saved Termina, then grew up and became a knight to the Royal Guard. By all accounts, this would make the most sense given his experience. However, his timeline means he didn't need to defeat Ganondorf and was so not known as a Hero. At some point he dies in battle, with only regrets that he didn't pass on his knowledge to someone else. He then becomes the Hero's Shade (Triforce magic I don't know 🤷♀️) and then waits 3-4 generations for his descendant to appear. Whether they are a direct lineage or from another branch is unknown.
(A Hero's Purpose by Major Link on YouTube is a really great story and attempts to fill in some gaps on what happened to Time. And while it is not an official Nintendo product so I unfortunately cannot consider it canon, it does offer ideas on what could have happened.)
- Hero of Winds: Sailed off with Tetra to form a new Land of Hyrule. Which they do as confirmed in Spirit Tracks. It's not known if this Link started a family, but we know Tetra did, because Spirits Zelda is her great-great granddaughter (she even confirms it in game). It's strange that old man Niko mentions that Spirits Link looks just like WW Link, but there doesn't seem to be a blood connection....
Hero of Twilight: Possibly the most vague in terms of 'epilogue', but we get a small hint in the end credits. During a final scene, Fado appears at Link's house (confirming that Link did return to his humble Ordon life), only to find that he is not there. The scene then shows Ilia looking out towards the bridge outside Ordon, and reveals Link to be riding away on Epona. As a kid when I first saw this, I took it to mean that Link was setting off on another adventure. That the thrill of it was too much to stay away. But looking at it now, as an adult, I see it as Link desperately wanting to get away for his sanity. The fact he slips away and only Ilia has an inkling, seems to be that Link just couldn't return to normal life in Ordon. Couldn't settle because of all the things he witnessed and did. The fact he doesn't even say goodbye to his close friends or the children, says (to me at least) that he's content that they are safe and well, and he's not needed anymore. He has to figure out what he has to do, but it's not going to be a farm boy again. Not anymore. There's a lot of turmoil in his mind. And all from just one scene.
- Hero of the Wild: The most recent Link we've met and clearly has so much going on inside. He lost all memories of his past thanks to The Shrine of Resurrection, then wakes up to a brand new, yet broken Hyrule he's expected to save. This guy clearly has so much suppressed mental state. After Tears of the Kingdom, it appears he is still content with staying as Zelda's knight, because that's the only purpose he's ever known.
Of course there are other Links who get somewhat of a happy ending but no more than that. And others choose to travel and wander. But we never think about what becomes of these Heroes later in their life. When they reach their 40s, 50s, or even much older....
Since the Hero of Twilight is confirmed to be descended from the Hero of Time, we can work out some important things:
1. Twilight Princess takes place 100 years after Ocarina of Time, meaning that 3-4 generations of Time's family would pass by. This would make Twilight the great-great grandson of Time.
2. However, that's assuming they have a direct lineage. They could also be related via another branch on the family tree (like through a cousin).
3. Time is confirmed to have died in battle and became the Hero's Shade. He would have then spent 3-4 generations waiting for the Spirit of the Hero to reincarnate, only to likely get frustrated when they weren't appearing.
4. And then Twilight is born and Time Shade is like "Oh thank goodness for that! It must skip a few gens!"
#and yes there is gramps in albw I know some of you will bring him up!#he's not stated to be - but it's obvious he's link from alttp#mental health state of gramps unknown#the legend of zelda#link#spirit of the hero#skyward sword#hero of the sky#ocarina of time#hero of time#wind waker#hero of winds#twilight princess#hero of twilight#breath of the wild#tears of the kingdom#hero of the wild#tloz

A ramble on one of @radioactivepeasant 's post comments here.
I haven't seen many people do this but the Kid having a different guardian instead of Kor. Sometimes I portray Jak finding him first or taking the tyke from Kor/Underground under a hunch that they can't be trusted with his safety. Considering they try to shove him into a death trap rite of manhood and put him on the THRONE, that judgment is very sound.
Well, I rambled about a different guardian: Link. Specifically post Majora's Mask iteration as I'm still on a Legend of Zelda kick. He ends up in Haven Forest through the Lost Woods side of Termina and got into Haven City albeit pissing off the Krimzon Guard in the process.
Link uses the Deku Mask to evade the guards only to bump into the Kid alongside his little Crocadog who I'll call Cujo(Danny Phantom reference). Now we all know our Hylian hero couldn't leave a kid on his own especially when it becomes clear the tyke is wanted. Thus Link decides he would watch out for the two.
Now, our hero mostly stays in Deku Scrub form as he not have this form be linked to him. Plus his small stature makes it easier to avoid being caught while they try to survive in Haven. Thus only the Kid and Cujo knows what Link really looks like.
Cue Daxter breaking Jak out of prison as the trio run into our reunited Demolition Duo. From here, Link and Mar decide to be little gremlins by making a game. They want to see how long it takes for everyone to realize that the 'strange wooden puppet' isn't actually one.
If Link has to use his other masks or items, then he switches when no one is looking like Superman. This change of guardians does lead to plot points such as Spargus being introduced earlier than in canon. Link knows there's something about the Kid that has everyone after him.
He WILL gather information which leads to seeking Sig's help and the huge chain reaction. Although Link is definitely getting adopted by Damas as the king clearly has the Batman instinct. Plus I love the idea of Dadmas on the same level as Fierce Dadity.
Everyone thinks Jak gets into the most trouble but they're about to learn the hard way that he has some serious competition.
If Linked Universe gets involved then this Link's nickname will be Mask just like in Hyrule Warriors. Jak and Daxter are definitely joining since they aren't letting their new little brother get dragged into an insane quest such as this alone. Damas will be pissed of course, no doubt ready to throw hands with Dink. Hylia too since every hero that has to save this particular world is always an incarnation of his newly adopted son.
Everyone is pretty much done with the whole destiny/prophecy trope. Plus the absolute awkwardness when Time ends up meeting a younger version of him. One who clearly had a much better time than he gotten at that age.
Warriors is probably gonna want a drink as he now has to deal with shenanigans on the same level as the War of Eras but cubed. Then again, every responsible Link might be joining him as the gremlin members add onto the chaos like gasoline on a fire.
That's all I have for now! Until next time folks, I'll see you at the crossroads between Spargus and Hyrule.

Do time or the other links smoke? Or drink? Or do some kind of drugs? I mean when your out heroing you're going to get alot of traum
Something they all at least somewhat have to try and take the edg off or do they have other ways of coping? I am sorry if this sounds like an ask,i was more along the lines trying to get your speculation on the matter
Masterlist
I see what you're saying and I do think that some of them would have had bad habits in the past but yeah-
They do need some time to take the edge off and refocus themselves in the present, but how do they do that in a healthy and safe way?
Let's talk about that.
I don't think I have all the necessary tags so go forth at your own discretion.
Time
Time would have definitely had a drinking problem that would have started in his Termina days.
He's never really felt the need to drink though- he only found that it would have kept him from going crazy.
But as he got out of there and talked more to Malon (and have his supply cut off- (just because he knew where to get it in Termina doesn't mean he knows where to get it in Hyrule, (nor would they give it to him, even if he did))), I like to think that he would have had to find other ways to calm himself down and think rationally through his thoughts and desires.
It happens by accident.
He was working at Lon Lon Ranch when he needed to go chop some wood and he found the repetitive and strenuous work, soothing.
He felt good. Accomplished even.
And a little disappointed when he was finished.
But he started doing that whenever he could and it became his main way to not only blow off some steam but to also calm himself down.
It helps with his anxiety and his need to help feel useful even when nothing is really happening that would require his assistance.
Twilight
Twilight finds that manual labor actually makes his anxiety worse.
He can't really find it within himself to get lost in it because he's already programmed for that to be a part of his day to day life anyway. So his brain can still go on and on even as he gets his chores done.
Twilight finds that a secluded spot with little distraction works best.
He's never really dabbled in other ways to deal with it nor has it come to his mind.
All he knew one say was that everything was too much and that he needed to be in a different area entirely.
No people, no noise.
He likes to hang out by small creeks or by the lake and fish if he really needs an excuse to do something.
Bonus points if he can rest with one of his favorite goats nearby, but that's few and far in between.
It's less meditation and more taking in the moment and letting time slip by for a change.
No to do lists, no action, no survival, no need to be on the run.
Just breath.
Warrior
Warrior would have smoked during the war but I don’t think he’d actually tolerate it all that well. I feel like he’d be more inclined to drink away his problems but with shortages left and right, and all efforts going into the war, there just wouldn’t be enough to go around.
So he’d smoke and hate it.
But it worked in a pinch.
Afterwards, whether through Mask’s and Wind’s influence or the end of the war, he’d want to find a way to quit.
It wasn’t easy but I feel like Warrior would attempt to quit cold turkey. Just drop the habit completely and what does he do when he feels the need arise again?
It’s actually little said than done, but he paints.
It’s less with ink and paint and more so, just moving his hands and a brush around.
If he happens to have a canvas it’s better but again, not easy to come around.
So what Warrior ends up doing most of the time, is taking a brush and some homemade ink from berries and brushing it over his scars. His favorite spot is the massive burn covering his left arm left behind as a gift from the Dragon Knight.
It feels tingly and electric, static follows the brush and the muscles clench with energy from the contact but while it’s uncomfortable for a while, it’s also not entirely unpleasant and it’s soothing to watch and feel. And it grounds Warrior in the moment until he no longer feels the urge.
When the urge is gone, he still does it when he feel anxious and concerned. Late at night is typical time for him to do this, where no one would see him or his scars and judge him for it.
Sky
Sky in the beginning would have slept more than he did before.
He was already inclined to fall asleep easily before all of his trauma, but afterwards he seemed to lose motivation to continue with the idea that things would go back to normal. There was still a lot of expectation placed on his shoulders and it was frankly not something he wanted to deal with.
So he sleeps.
Now this turns into more of a problem with being able to stay awake and to stay concentrated. It’s hard for him to pay attention to anything beyond him and that won’t do, considering me still has to finish his schooling.
What Sky does more often than not to keep him tethered to the present moment is work with his hands. He’s already had the tools for wood whittling but he was never allowed to use them in class and it ends being a bigger mess sometimes than he’s willing to deal with in general.
Sky also has some small pockets of clay that he fidgets with to keep his hands moving and he can keep it under his desk so that it’s not that distracting in class.
It helps him focus and when he thinks about what he’s been through and what he plans to do next, it keeps him from getting overwhelmed.
Wild
I think Wild would have just gone silent and unmoving when he’s having a bad day.
Kind of similar to how he gets when’s trapped in a memory but for longer and he doesn’t eat or sleep. It could last days at a time. He doesn’t even move unless he’s prompted or dragged to the spot.
The lights are on but no one’s home you know.
There’s not a lot he can do when it happens. Everyone just has to wait for it to pass and hope that it passes quickly.
But Wild gets better with time to know the signs when of one of those days is coming.
It’s not much, but Wild like to hop on the back of his horse and just take off.
Feel the rushing wind on his face and through his hair. He’s a full gallop for a while until the poor horse gets tired. At that point he just goes to the nearest stable and exchanges horses to do the whole thing over again.
Sometimes, when that’s not enough, he’ll go base jumping from as high as he can get even using Revali’s Gale to get higher and free fall. Wild is pretty good at catching himself with his paraglider at the last moment and he likes to see all of Hyrule when as he reaches the ground again.
It reminds him that he’s done a lot of good, that he’s capable of doing more good and that life isn’t over just one ended.
Four
Unsurprisingly, sometimes Four gets too lost in his own for his own good.
He’s got a lot to think about and very little way to get it out.
Four would actually throw himself into his work to try and distract himself from the memories, the anxiety, and the guilt of not being enough time and time again even if he saved the day in the end.
This doesn’t help.
He gets so lost into it, in his attempt to stop thinking all together that he completely goes into autopilot and over works himself. Not in the sense that he pulls a muscle and has to take it easy or end up sore and tired and regrets it. No, no. What I mean is that he’ll keep working for days on end.
No sleep.
No food.
Little water.
No fresh air.
It ends up being a hard habit for him to break. Especially since he finds himself continuously trying to fall into a blank mindset even while he actually works to get commissions done.
So what Four has to do is find something else to do. Four more or less always has to have his hands moving, so it’s hard for him to put something down and not working on it.
He likes jigsaw puzzles, he likes to read, but he also likes to make stuff.
So in the end, when Four feel a little overwhelmed and feels himself slip into a self deprivational state, he’ll stop and goes inside his house to do a smaller project.
So he bakes, he knits, he does his puzzels. It’s enough for him to feel productive still but quick enough for him to stay present and make sure he’s still taking care of himself until the restlessness passes.
Wind
Wind doesn’t really have bad habits. He’s still young and processing his adventures.
I’m sure there’s alcohol on the pirate ship because pirates. But I don’t think he’d like it as much as some people want to write him.
Like, sure, a cup or two ain’t bad but I just can’t see Wind having a drinking problem. At least not now as everything stands.
In a few years it’s might be something he would need to be on the look out for if he’s aware enough but he was quite grasped the full implications of his position and trauma yet.
Because he’s just a kid.
He won’t know how twisted what happened to him was until he gets older and can he the age outside of his own mindset.
Wind has nightmares though and they’re ties when he gets memories that he doesn’t want to deal with at the moment- or ever again.
In the moment he thinks of his home, his grandma and his sister instead.
He thinks of his friends, both old and new.
The chain help with distracting him and he’s not above using them for the distraction when he feels that he needs one.
Wind also stretches a lot.
When he was with Warrior, he got into some of the drills they were teaching the soldiers and for some of the nimble ones, they had to start with stretches and he likes it.
So when it gets particularly bad, he throws himself through the motions and holds the poses for a bit longer than necessary.
So yoga. He does yoga.
And it centers him, it clears his head and he feels better after.
Legend
Legend screams.
Legend cries.
Legend will go on a rampage and destroy a whole forest if he’s having a particularly hard day.
Sometimes he’ll go find something big and scary just to fight it.
Blacksmithing is more a hobby for him at this point because it’s not something he can actually see himself doing in the future. It’s just to pass the time and help the day’s go by a little faster.
Legend likes to draw and when he’s tired after throwing whatever tantrum has taken over him, he’d go to a quiet spot and draw whatever he sees.
Sometimes, when he’s paying more attention to himself and he can feel himself getting frustrated and anxious, he takes a few days off.
He leaves his house and his items and goes up a mountain to think with some food, a notebook and some pencils.
He takes up map making.
Legend doesn’t think he’s any good at it, but with al the places he’s been, he tries to make a map for them by memory incase anyone he knows or will meet decides to visit.
His most carefully crafted map is of Koholint for... reasons.
It’s takes him an age and a half and he’s still not done with it, trying to get as much of it onto the paper as he can remember before he grows old and loses them entirely within his memory.
It’s a calming project he finds. He doesn’t feel sad when he does this for Marin for the people and their memory. It keeps them alive in his heart and sometimes he draws something on the map that doesn’t quite fit into his memory about the island but something tells him to keep it because it was there. Because he was only a visitor to their home.
The locals would know.
He feels good keeping them alive in some way.
It’s what she they would have wanted.
It’s what she they deserve.
She They always wanted to travel and it’s better to have a map to do so.
He takes up map making.
Hyrule
I don’t think Hyrule’s... Hyrule has a lot of these methods to go around. He wouldn’t have been exposed to drugs or alcohol simply because there’s too little people for him to interact with.
And if he was, I don’t think he’s use them as a coping mechanism simply because they would be too difficult obtain and gather to be sufficient.
I think that Hyrule would actually hang out with a Great Fairies by her pool when times got particularly rough.
There’s something about the place that resonates with him and feels calming, safe and relaxing to him.
As a bonus he’s always welcomed so he can pop in and stay for days at a time if he ever needed to.
He does not stay there for days.
But he appreciates the offer.
Hyrule doesn’t stay for more than few hours at a time because he doesn’t want to attract any monsters to his safe spots but even if the fairies don’t use any magic on him, he’s always rejuvenated afterwards and he feel like he can take on anything.
And given the world he comes from- it’s needed.

Because Why Not 2: ID-F86 Is GNC AF
Because I am easily entertained I like listening to youtubers who weren’t paying enough attention guess the pronouns of the thing they’re fighting. The first post about this was about Flamberge - given that she has a few masculine traits, I have heard he, she, AND they used for her by mostly well-meaning but confused gamers.
Now, however, we face a new challenge.
Canonically, these are the pronouns of Fecto Elfilis - every instance they are ever given a pronoun:
- Based Leongar is supportive of his tyrannical angelic psychic overlord: "They're incomplete without their other half." - Elfilin uses "it" during the end cutscene before the truck segment: "it wants your planet to collide with this one!" - Fecto Forgo Larva Figurine: "When ID-F86 arrived, it began attacking all of the native wildlife. [] The native inhabitants used it to create tech beyond their wildest dreams." - Fecto Forgo Figurine: "Their only refuge was the realm of their dreams. [] the animals they reached." - Fecto Elfilis Figurine: "Without a soul to temper its power, [] now that they're whole again, they're already planning their next invasion..." - Forgo Leon Figurine: "[] fled to Forgo Dreams to plot their next steps: [] as their own [] to force them out, ID-F86 had no choice but to reveal their own phantom form." - Leon's Soul Figurine: "After their fight with Kirby, ID-F86's body was destroyed, but their powerful mind remained. They fled to the isolated isles of their own dreams... [] they cast out Leongar's soul,"
In conclusion, Elfilis uses they/it pronouns! Hell yeah, gender!
Youtubers playing through the game however, might not notice such a thing. Plus, with the addition of the he/him Elfilin in the equation, some people are even MORE confused.
I present to you, a compilation of Elfilis being The Most Gender Ever Of All Time.
Kirby Saves The Forgotten Land - Vernias “OH NO! OH NO THEY’RE LITERALLY EATING EVERYONE!” “Oh god he’s gooping all over the place-” “It seems to be calming down a little bit-” “Oh god don’t tell me that’s a fricking Void Termina reference with its attack-” “Very cool man very frickin’ cool-” “THAT’S NOT EVEN A GOOD IDEA DUDE!!”
So the ending of Kirby... - Failboat
“...top five things I did not want to happen. One through five, it opening its eyes.” “I didn’t like it while it was moving-” “gONNA SHOOT IT IN THE GODDAMN HEAD-” “FINISH ‘EM! That- that did not finish ‘em they’re doing the thing in the boss fight where I killed them definitely but they’re not dead-!” “oh what are they doing...”
can always count on Failboat for those nice neutral pronouns :)
I was WRONG about Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Choctopus
“Oh I can just j- okay. He’s getting hit with my backslash.” “If he’s got any more forms you gotta tell me-” “Oh my GOD, it’s a Pokemon. YO he’s got like like, a giant spear?!” “What’s he got like, light beam attacks?” “We got him! Finish him off, Kirby!” “Shouldn’t he revert back-? Oh he’s melting.” “Hell yeah, man! We’re gonna kamikaze it!” “It’s like ‘you DARE test ME?!’” “Dude- he’s getting hit by a truck!” “He died the same way.” *interesting note is that this one started using it right after Elfilin did before going back
FINAL BOSS - Kirby and the Forgotten Land - Part 15 - ENDING (Blind) - Roamer
“Bu- it’s not complete though right?!” “Ohhh and he- he even absorbed the lion!” “They’re, they’re holding us back a little bit! Oh, do we have to fight it?” “No-! Ohhh now it’s gonna be complete...” “It’s actually beautiful, like- I always feel bad destroying it!”
and now for the reason I wanted to make this Kirby and the Forgotten Land [16] “ID-F86″ - Fatguy703 *two-player
“Fecto Forgo. Okay it’s infection let’s go!” “Is he not gonna stretch towards us anymore?” “Is it still gonna be a weird blob?” “[Elfilin] you’re being a-! Meanie-boy-pants right now!” “...wait [Elfilin] was a lady cuz this definitely- feels female-! [is stabbed, rightfully so]” “I thought she was targeting you, she’s facing you!” “aaaand she’s targeting me again.” “I stabbed its butt multiple times,” “I burned it.” “I let him- I don’t-” “Did he heal?!” “Oh no they’re going for you-” “It’s not dead. It’s not dead!”
BEHOLD: THE COMPLETE BINGO CARD OF GENDER.
what have we learned today? Idk. Pay attention when the game offers you some pronouns, I guess? Elfilis is the most gender of all time? Youtubers/gamers have a bad habit of defaulting to he/him? Doesn’t matter. I made this for almost no reason at all anyways.

"Sí. Bueno, lo retomaré más tarde. Gracias," you hung up the phone, setting it down with a smile on your face.
["Yes. Okay, I will pick it up later. Thank you."]
"Hey, who was that?" Stefan come over to you, wrapping his arm around your waist.
"That was Lucas's friend. He was able to get the cake and the cupcakes made early!" You squealed, jumping up and down in his arms.
"Oh, that's awesome! Looks like Caroline won't be bugging you anymore," Stefan chuckled.
"Oh, I know. Man, am I happy to finally get this party planning over with," you sighed, turning around and leaning against the counter.
You smiled as you came face-to-face with your boyfriend. You hung your arms around his neck lazily, twirling the hair on the nape of his neck with your first fingers.
"Tired?" Stefan raised a brow, settings hands on your hips.
"Exhausted. And to think the actual party is tonight," you chuckled. "Well, that's the easiest part, right?" Stefan asked.
"Yeah, watching over twenty-to-twenty five eleven years olds is easy," you rolled your eyes.
"You'll have help. Caroline, me, Bonnie, Ric, Elena, Matt. Even Damon has volunteered to watch them!"
"Or lure them in a back corner and fed on them," you scoffed. "Hey, Damon's a lot of things, but he is not a child-blood-sucker," Stefan defended.
"Awe, you're defending him. How cute," you booped his nose.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. We are goals. Or whatever the kids are saying these days."
You giggled at his words, turning back around as you heard the front door open. You looked to see Caroline, Bonnie, and Elena carrying the twins, a bunch of presents, and at least five boxes of pizza.
"Damn. I wish you guys bought me this many presents!" You exclaimed.
"Oh, shut up. We give you a bottle of champagne and you're already over the moon," Elena snickered.
"Well, what can I say? I'm a simple gal," you grinned.
"Hey, Stef, can you help, please? Put these next to the window sill," Bonnie ordered as she was carrying most of the presents.
"Yeah, of course," Stefan nodded. He ran over to her with his vampire speed, picking up the presents at lightening speed and laying them out in towers.
"Thank you," Bonnie sighed. "Yeah, no problem. Hey, why didn't you just use your magic to carry them in?" Stefan asked.
"I need to save my energy for the kids," Bonnie explained.
"Whoa, Whoa, Whoa. I didn't know we were letting the world know our secret," you frowned.
"We aren't! They're just a bunch of kids. Plus, we can just compel them to forget. Josie and Lizzie really want to show them tricks, too," Caroline bounced the twins in her arms.
You looked to the two girls who were giggling and smiling. You sighed, "Fine. Anyways, guess who was able to get the cake and the cupcakes."
"Oh, my God! You?" Caroline gasped. "Yep. Call me Santa Claus 'cause I just delivered!" You grinned.
Elena, Bonnie, and Stefan cringed at your joke.
"Not your best work, Y/n," Elena shook her head.
"What! Hey, that was pretty good," you frowned. "You'll get 'em next time, babe," Stefan smiled, going over to you and patting you on the back.
"Okay, you guys are just jealous because you're not as funny as me," you scoffed.
"Oh, yeah, we're jealous all right," Bonnie smirked.
You opened your mouth to retort back, but your phone started ringing. You looked at the Caller ID, seeing that it was your brother, Lucas. You gave them all a death glare, picking up your phone and going into the other room.
"Hey, amigo, what's up?" You asked.
"Uh, bad news, chica," Lucas sighed. "Oh?" You raised a brow.
"Yeah, turns out that Darryl can't make the cake or the cupcakes today."
You opened your mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Your eyes were wide as saucers as you thought of what to say.
"Y/n? Please say something," Luca begged.
You turned your head, your face screwing up in guilt and anger as you saw Lizzie and Josie playing with Bonnie and Stefan. You turned back and focused on the conversation you were having with you very trusting brother.
"¿Qué quiere decir Darryl no puede hacer el pastel o cupcakes?"
[What do you mean darryl can't make the cake or cupcakes?"]
"I mean that he can't make them. Do I need to explain to you what those words mean? And why are you speaking in Spanish? Afraid someone will —"
"En realidad, lo soy, Lucas. Dios, eres tan poco confiable. ¡Y ese amigo tuyo! Espera, ¿podría recuperar mi dinero?"
["Actually, I am, Lucas. God, you are so unreliable. And that friend of yours! Wait, am I going to be able to get my money back?"]
"Um… probably not. But it's okay, I'll pay you back!"
"Ah, ¿cuándo? ¿Después de sacar dinero del fondo universitario de su hijo? ¿O se lo van a pedir a mamá y papá esta vez?"
["Oh, when? After you take out money from your child's college fund? Or are you going to ask mom and dad for it this time?"]
"Hey, don't blame me! Blame Darryl. All I did was hook you up with him!"
"Y probablemente sabías que era un gilipollas mentiroso y que robaba dinero. Llámame de vuelta cuando seas capaz de no mentirme, ¿sí?"
["And you probably knew that he was a lying, money-stealing asshole. Call me back when you're able to not lie to me, yeah?"]
"Wait, Y/n, I-"
You hung up the phone, throwing it on the chair next to you. You groaned quietly, the bridge of your nose burning as tears welled up in your eyes.
"¿Cómo puedes ser tan estúpido, Y/n? Confiando en él después de todo lo demás que ha hecho. Estúpido, estúpido, estúpido!"
["How can you be so stupid, Y/n? Trusting him after everything else he's done. Stupid, stupid, stupid!"]
Stefan, who was throwing up Lizzie and Josie in the air, heard your mutters in the other room. He frowned and put the girls down, promising them that he would be back in a second after checking up on you. He walked into the next room slowly, putting his arm around you lightly.
"Hey, what's wrong?"
You jumped at his voice and touch, sniffling and wiping the tears from your face. "Y-Yeah. Just some um, family stuff."
"Want to talk about it?" Stefan asked.
You sighed, turning around to him. His hand intertwined with yours, squeezing it for support.
"It's just… Lucas. He's just so… jodidamente molesto," you sighed. "Él simplemente no piensa en otras personas y las consecuencias. Quiero decir, trata de ayudar, lo que es agradable, pero siempre termina por pagar dinero a la gente, o termina por tener un ojo negro."
[“He is just so… fucking annoying. He just doesn't think about other people and the consequences. I mean, he tries to help, which is nice, but he always either ends up owing people money, or ends up having a black eye.”]
"O-Oh, yeah," Stefan nodded, his brows furrowed as he tried to understand. But you were speaking so fast and with so much anger, he barely picked up a word.
"Y como su hermana mayor, sé que probablemente se supone que voy fácil con él, pero es un hombre crecido. ¡Debe saber estas cosas! Ugh, sabía que debería haber ordenado a ellos como, Target o algo, pero el amigo de su “aparentemente” es capaz de hacer diseños realmente lindos y hacer arte fondant en tiempo récord, así que tomé mis mis oportunidades. ¿Y adivina dónde estoy ahora?"
[“And as his older sister, I know I'm probably supposed to go easy on him, but he's a grown man. He should know these things! Ugh, I knew I should've just ordered them from like, Target or something, but hsi friend "apparently" is able to do really cute designs and make fondant art in record time, so I took my chances. And guess where I am now?”]
"Right, right. Wow, I'm sorry, babe, I —"
"Ciento cincuenta dólares cortos con dos niñas que van a estar tristes cuando no consiguen su pastel de sirena barbie y cupcakes con temática de Minecraft. ¡Argh!"
["One hundred and fifty dollars short with two little girls who are going to be sad when they don't get their Barbie Mermaid cake and Minecraft-themed cupcakes. Argh!"]
You stopped your rant when you noticed Stefan looked at you with a confused expression on his face. You thought for a moment to yourself, beginning to laugh at yourself as you realised you were speaking in Spanish.
"I'm sorry, Stef. I didn't realise you couldn't understand me."
He smiled and shrugged. "No worries. At least you were able to get it all out, right?"
"A little. When I punch Lucas, I'll be able to get it all out," you grinned.
"That's my girl."

Favorite Character Archetypes: The Wanderer
In my last post about character archetypes, I talked about Stoic Characters and why I think they're cool. Or at the very least I just rambled on about my favorite characters that fit the type, lmao.
So, here we are now, with another one. I'm going to start off by stating that these posts will now be titled "Favorite Character Archetypes: X Thing" since I feel it's more appropriate to do that than saying "One of my favorites." Now with that stated, let's talk about another one: The Wanderer. Also known as The Drifter, The Explorer, The Adventurer. In Some Cases, they're also The Fugitive.
What are some known traits about these characters? Effectively they're the people who're most likely bouncing from one place to another, to another, to another. Their reasons tend to vary as to why exactly, but generally it's because they want to/have to, because they want to fulfill some purpose in their lives. They can be seen as mysterious, sometimes even elusive. They're independent folk who keep to themselves and thus come off as anti-social at times, even if they do mean well. Ultimately, by the end of their respective stories, the Wanderer will have generally settled down and they will have their goals completed.
Examples of a Wanderer are as follows:
Kenshiro (Fist of the North Star)
Ryu (Street Fighter)
Link (The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask)
Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic Series)
The Doctor (Doctor Who)
Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk (Marvel Comics)
Each of these characters have their own general reasons for why they're always on the move, never stopping to settle down. Kenshiro travels the wastelands to not only just search for his fiancée, but for a myriad of other reasons as well. Ryu travels the world to seek out strong opponents and constantly improve himself until he feels confident in saying that he has truly become a master martial artist. The Hero of Time initially set out on a quest that transcended time to do battle with evil, but then he left Hyrule to look for his closest friend and ended up becoming intertwined in a battle to save the land of Termina from destruction, visiting its four regions and aiding the inhabitants of those regions. Sonic has quite humbly admitted that he's just a guy who loves adventure. Even if he's saved the day, he's already got a foot out the door and springing into the next adventure. The Doctor, across numerous incarnations, has managed to amass goodness knows how many allies and has traveled through all kinds of worlds, dimensions, timelines and more. (Admittedly I also never watched Doctor Who, so this knowledge is just from what I've read about the series; Other than that, I'm not that interested in it, sorry...) Bruce Banner is a fugitive, on the run from the Military (or other organizations) after being bombarded with Gamma Radiation and transforming into The Incredible Hulk. Though most appearances now have largely moved past this aspect or downplay it, it still formed the basis for a lot of storylines involving the character.
So Why do I like this archetype so much? Truthfully, I think it's a pretty cool type of character, one that leads into all kinds of possibilities for storytelling. There's a sense of mystery to these characters, wondering why they're always moving from one place to the next. There's a sense of urgency in some cases. Sometimes it's just pure fun to see what kind of scenarios they might get into next. Some writers might use a wanderer as an excuse to tell the story of the world around them. Others might use them as a central character and paint them as this mysterious rebel who's drifted into town and will end up shaking the foundations of everything while just trying to get on by.
Simply put, they're incredibly versatile and I'd honestly encourage coming up with a character like this. See what you can do with 'em, ask yourself what their motivations are, picture how they might look, what they're capable of, that kinda stuff.
If you've managed to read through to the end here, thank you for taking the time to do so. I honestly have a lot of fun just writing these types of posts in general.

Here's my contribution for @behind-the-fic MFC! I hope you enjoy it Fate!
A loud crash of thunder made Link and Talt stop dead in their tracks as they traveled through the grassy fields of Termina. Link looked up to the sky and noticed huge dark grey clouds above him.
“We need to find shelter before the rain catches us!” he informed Talt, who nodded in response.
As they looked around to find a place that could serve for protection against the oncoming rain, Link noticed a huge log near the tree where Skull Kid drew himself with Talt and Tael.
“Over there!” he yelled, and ran towards the log.
As they settled down inside, the rain came, pouring so heavily that it was nearly impossible to see through.
“It’s a good thing we found shelter,” commented Talt “otherwise we would have been stuck in that”
“Yeah” Link agreed
The hero rested his head against worn down wood, and let out a long sigh. It had been a chaotic week, or had it been days?? He didn’t know, he felt like he never had any time to rest, an irony in itself with what he’s able to do with the Ocarina of Time.
"So," Talt began, shaking Link away from his thoughts "now that we're going to be here for a while, do you mind me asking some questions about you?"
Link looked at her quizzically. In all the time he's been with Talt, he'd never figured her to care about him, in a "who are you" sort of sense. He supposed she only cared about getting back to her brother as fast as possible, which he didn’t mind….Sort of.
“Why are you looking at me like that?!” Talt questioned “I’m just trying to make conversation”
Link chuckled, “I’m sorry, I just wasn’t expecting you to ask me that”
He looked out towards the howling rain, letting his mind wander before saying
“What do you want to know?”
“Well,” she began, “first things first, have you done this before? Like, the whole fighting monsters and being a hero thing?”
Link gave her a small smile, “Yeah, you could say that.”
“What do you mean?”
He sighed, “It’s a long story. Let’s just say that it involves me becoming a legendary hero, time travel and saving a princess from a tyrannical, power hungry man.”
Talt flew back with amazement, “Oh wow. You really have done this before”
“You have no idea,” he remarked, “ alright, what’s you’re next question”
“The first time we met, what were you doing in the forest?”
“Oh, I was just looking for an old friend.”
“In the forest?”
“She’s a fairy,” he explained, “She was my companion for most of my journey, but left after it ended.”
“Oh, well I hope you find her” she told him
“Thanks”
There was a mild silence between them, with only the wind howling between them before Link spoke up
“So, are there any more questions you have for me?”
“Welllll,” Talt began tentatively, she seemed almost nervous, as if she didn’t know if it was a good idea to ask her next question, “there is one, but I don’t know if it’s too personal”
“What do you mean?” Link asked her
“It’s about your ocarina”
‘Oh’
He supposed it made sense why she would ask about the instrument. After all, he had managed to reverse time itself, and healed himself from his curse.
“What do you want to know about it?”
“The Happy Mask Salesman mentioned it was precious to you. What exactly did he mean by that?”
Link’s face flushed, he was definitely not expecting Talt to ask him why the ocarina meant so much to him. How it worked, sure, but not the reason he worked so hard to get it back.
“W-well,” Link stammered out. He couldn’t even talk about her without getting flustered.
‘Focus Link! You can do this, just calm down.”
He gazed out towards the falling rain, letting the sounds of the storm clear his mind and took a deep breath before allowing himself to answer.
“The ocarina was a gift from the princess of Hyrule, Zelda .”
His tone, Talt noticed, became softer and reminiscent. She guessed that whoever this princess Zelda was, she definitely had a special place in Link’s heart.
“Zelda,” he continued, “was the princess that I saved from the tyrannical man on my journey. We met early on in my adventure, and became really close friends.”
“Just really close friends?” teased Talt, causing Link’s cheeks to turn a deep crimson
“Oh, be quiet!” He told her, but the blush remained on his face. “We worked together to try and stop him, but some things happened and we were separated for a while.” He took in another breath. “We went through a lot, more than what anyone should have gone through, after my journey was over and I decided to look for Navi, my fairy friend, she gave me the ocarina as a parting gift. She said that it reminded her of us and of everything we had gone through together.”
The rain had begun to die down, letting Link realize that they would soon be able to continue on their quest towards Snowhead. He got up, and walked towards the log’s entrance and stood there for a few moments before looking up at the sky.
“I made her a promise that day” he said, “I promised her that I would return. That, no matter how long it took, I would come home, I would come back to her”
Talt flew there silently, not knowing what she could say that would help comfort him. She realized in that moment, that there was more to this boy than what she originally thought. He wasn’t some kid who foolishly helped people because he wanted to, he was a warrior on a mission to find his friend so that he could return to the person he cared for most in the world.
“This ocarina is the only thing that I have of her. That’s why-”
He choked back a sob, tears began to flow silently down his cheek. Talt flew near him, gently resting herself on his shoulder to show her support. He turned to look at her, a sad smile on his face, but appreciation and acknowledgment showing in his eyes.
“That’s why it’s precious to me.”
“I understand,” she said, “and I’m sorry for stealing it in the first place”
Link sniffed, and wiped his eyes with his palms, “it’s alright, you didn’t know”
“But still, I'm going to make it up to you by helping you return back to your princess! So come on! We don’t have all day hero!”
Link laughed at Talt’s words and together headed towards Snowhead Mountain.
‘Don’t worry Zelda. I promise I’ll come back to you’
