i was thinking about the wisconsin incident* in the shower today so ive spent the afternoon doing geography quizzes on sporcle

#*once a couple years ago i was feeding aurora #and her food and water were in my bedroom at the time. my carpeted bedroom.#because special diet + multi cat household #so. there was a plastic placemat underneath it #and all the plastic placemats we have are from when i was a kid #you know. abcs dinosaurs #all the presidents (up to dubya)#and this map of the us #that i never looked at because why would you look at a placemat #but i see the placemat as im giving aurora her dinner. and i see wisconsin. east of minnesota #and im sure dear reader youre like yeah. where else would wisconsin be #well. i thought. that wisconsin.#was much smaller. and was between indiana and ohio #the great lakes would be much wider to accommodate this #and illinois was a lot farther north. because i know its on lake michigan #but that most of the west side of lake mi abutted minnesota #because they have big lake energy #and wisconsin has always had more rust belt energy to me #their culture felt more foreign. like the eastern midwest instead of the western midwest #anyway. apologies to all my cheesy friends in the badger state

Oh look, it seems like there's a Republican-led movement to purge voter rolls in the lead-up to the election! It's almost as if your vote matters and they don't want you to vote! Anyway, I whipped up a quick map (based on this) that shows when the voter registration deadline is in each state. There are a few deadlines coming up in the next week or so.

If you live in a state that regularly purges voter rolls for infrequent voters (the orange ones in the first map), or if you moved recently, it's good to check if you're still registered to vote.

Vote.org makes it super easy to check your registration: https://www.vote.org/am-i-registered-to-vote/

Just put in your address and DOB and they'll tell you whether you're registered. (And they give you a quick link to register online if it turns out that you're not! Only the 9 states in white on my map don't have online registration, and for those they provide instructions on how to do it via mail or in person.) If you want an extra verification, find your state's election website and double-check there.

So yeah, give yourself peace of mind -- do a quick check. :)

trying new coloring methods. 0/10 do NOT recommend, but hey at least i got something kinda okay out of it

#this was based on a sketch i posted a few days ago cuz i didnt have any ideas for compositions #-and i wanted to try a new rendering method i saw on youtube #the method btw is to start in greyscale so you can get the values right before using the curves tool to adjust colors #i ended up hating it though because my colors always wound up feeling basic #i think it works better in lighting situations where the light’s color is neutral #i used a bunch of gradient maps and overlay layers to try and fix it bc it was looking VERY muddy and weird #and i think i did successfully save it after a lot of frustration #but i will likely not be trying this method again cause i like using funky lighting and colors #art #fanart #digital art #dc comics #tim drake fanart #tim drake robin #tim drake #red robin fanart #robin fanart #dc robin #robin #red robin

late valentines, i suppose? this has been a wip since last year but i finally got around to finishing it this week. i ran into a few issues that i almost gave up on it but it's been so long since my last upload and i wanted to share something before February ends so here it is! i drew the scalp textures from scratch in Photoshop (using one of the braids from GT as a reference) so it took ages. it's not perfect but i quite like it, hope you do too <3

When there's a big scary bug on the doorknob and you go ask Lucifer to get rid of it. And he huffs and sighs and rolls his eyes, because really? A measly bug? Are you being serious rigjht now? You know who you're asking, right?

He walks with his arms crossed because this is just so ridiculous. You know magic. Just magic the bug away. You don't need his help. You are so much bigger than a tiny pest. You could crush it. Yes, you could. And then wash your hands or your foot or whatever you used to crush it. Stop acting like Cerberus is on a rampage. This isn't that complex. It's a bug.

And then he goes and obliterates the doorknob bug anyway. Because he loves you. Are you happy now? Lucifer is expecting a show of appreciation for his efforts. Something simple isn't enough. He saved you, didn't he? From the bug. It was such a menace. He expects more than a little "thanks."
