the chunin exams arc was so interesting for how it portrayed sakura's potential and how people in her life influenced it. kakashi lying about the team-based enrollment criteria because he thinks sakura would be likely to sign up only to appease sasuke, and being genuinely surprised when she shows up anyway. naruto being completely oblivious when sakura was upset preceding the exams and also after she cut her hair in the forest of death. naruto literally dreaming about saving sakura from enemies, being the hero to her damsel-in-distress. sakura moulding herself into a perfectly feminine lady because that's what society demanded and what she thought sasuke would want. versus sasuke calling her out for focusing too much on romance instead of her skills like she should be doing. sasuke picking up that she was upset because she felt inadequate and reminding her of what she was best at -- maybe even better than him -- and never begrudging her for it. ino hacking into her mind because she was sure, not a single doubt in her mind, that sakura would know the answers to the impossible questions on the written exam. ino and sasuke both stepping in to save her during her fight with the sound nin, but only after being spurred on by the brutal beating she took. ino and sasuke getting frustrated with naruto when he commented on how her haircut looked because it made sakura trivialize her experience and offer a fake explanation about women being fickle. the flashbacks revealing to us that ino affirmed that she would one day bloom into a beautiful flower. ino and sasuke serving as a catalyst for sakura to get stronger before pt 1 and pt 2 respectively. idk do you see what i'm seeing

Keychain Update! <-

The batch came into me a few days ago, only for the majority, if not all of them to have a printing error! Some have it more prominent and/or in different locations but they all appear to have a faint white outline to them, which the initial batch did not have.

I contacted the company to have the batch remade, here is hoping they can get a new batch to me soon with no errors!

Apologies for the shipping delay this will cause, but I thought it would be better than giving you all anything faulty. In exchange I am also giving you all a little surprise bonus sticker :)

I cannot give an exact ship date at the moment, I will update you all, and send them out as soon as I can!

the first maysilee fic i wrote (tying up loose ends) is not too spoilery! it's set in the tribute centre before the arena, so the only real spoilers are alliances and characterisations. the second one though (and put a bow on it) and the one i'll post tomorrow (wrapped up in you) contain spoilers for the order in which tributes die and how:,) so read those at your own risk

considering that in catching fire (the book) we pretty much get to know exactly how the capitol aired haymitch's games, we know approximately what happens in sotr, BUT i would say there are enough twists and turns that you should read sotr before engaging too heavily in fanwork

i very much recommend the book<33 i blew through it in two days lol 😵‍💫 but also, take your time, if you've got other stuff, the book (and my maysilee fics) wills till be there in the future!

so weird how ppl’s perceptions of fan support differ bc i just saw someone say that us cheering and applauding the lads after that chelsea game at home last season was very weak mentality of us because we’re just accepting mediocrity meanwhile i thought it was one of the most beautiful shows of support i’ve ever seen in my life when it comes to football. sure we can all cheer at goals but when it comes down to it are we going to cheer on the lads when we suffer defeat and make sure they know we believe in them?

I like sarcastically saying No Fun Allowed as much as the next Tumblr user, and believe it or not I do like having fun myself, but honestly, there comes a point where certain people wanting to shut down any and all criticism of Hollywood blockbusters because "Why do you have to be so negative? Can't we just have fun?" borders on genuine anti-intellectualism. It certainly shows a dearth of media literacy to imply that you should only ever have positive things to say about works of fiction. So jokes aside, it's legitimately kind of concerning that a not-insignificant number of grown adults are vocal about this attitude.

Some adult fans of animated movies will say "it's just for kids, it's not that deep!" as a way to imply criticism is automatically petty and unreasonable BUT praise is just fine. I recently saw someone trot out "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" in response to people criticizing Disney's colonialist/imperialist/racist messages. Because otherwise you might hurt the feelings of the $200,000,000,000 multinational entertainment conglomerate "who worked really hard on the movie". That person was dead serious.

In reality, mass media is not an elementary school play, it's an industry created by adult professionals and used to generate profit for multinational corporations. It is neither unreasonable nor unfair to say negative things about movies -- yes, even movies that you personally like, or that are intended for children. (Children are people who deserve high-quality media just as much as adults, if not more considering they are more vulnerable to media manipulation and marketing.)

Perhaps people should apply the "don't like, don't read" mantra to critical analysis instead of just to (fan)fiction itself. If people online saying not-nice things about a movie annoys you or makes you feel insecure, that's on you to deal with, not on everyone else to stop being critical; you have a right to your own opinion, not a right to demand that others keep quiet about our own opinions. It's fine to disagree with criticism or to enjoy a movie anyway, but decrying any and all criticism as invalid and mean-spirited by default is just bad faith.

And at the end of the day, toxic positivity and sycophancy is an incredibly shortsighted and damaging way to navigate mass media, even when it's dressed up as "let people enjoy things have fun." So sorry kids, No Fun Allowed.

Okay so i imagine that if johnny only has one daughter,she has him around her tiny finger. And oh! Imagine if the boys dress up as secret service agents for halloween and their sister is in the middle dressed as a little princess.

OH and imagine if 3 of the brothers are usually more protective of their baby sister (Who may have inherited her mother's height and is very small) than the other boys and like as they get older boys start flirting with her but her brothers will NOT allow that!

And imagine The boys no that Johnny will likely give into things if their sister asks and like its bring your kid to work day and Johnny is talking to ghost and over toddles his little princess looking up at him with big eyes going "Daddy,cannae get Mcdonalds for dinner? Pleaaassssseee?" And Johnny can't say "no" to his little princess when she looks up at him with those big doe eyes and simon and price can see his sons cheering at the fact they get Mcdonalds.

Also ALL of his kids have a scottish accent.

in class today i felt so incredibly out of place again, why does it have to be so hard for me? and, i like this girl, but every single time we have class she mentions her "autism" while happily chatting with 3+ ppl at a time, completely effortless, while im sitting there, staring and trying to focus enough to even understand the conversation bc there is so much noise around me that i feel like i'm about to either explode or shut down completely and i feel like an alien trying my best to somehow socialize and understand what is going on and really to just get through this.
