One thing I'm not noticing anyone else talking about—the production value thing is not because they think it's what the fans want. It's not. They want to go for higher production value, it's important to them. That's not a bad thing. Ryan has stressed multiple times on podcasts, behind the scenes content, even the live appearance I saw him at that it's important to him their new media is better quality than Unsolved. I think part of that is just anxiety that what they make isn't good enough, but I'm also sure it's a natural artistic yearning to want to expand and grow. Shane and Steven probably feel the same way about their shows. Ryan has also mentioned how taxing it is for so much of the channel to be about him, which he mentions again in the video with the comment about wanting to expand with other creators. And there's nothing weird about that! That's just facing realistic burnout. The vibe in the announcement video from Shane and Ryan is extremely telling of burnout. They're growing the content because (1) it's exhausting for them to make the exact same style of content for the 8+ years they've been doing it, and one of the ways to get past burnout is by pushing your boundaries and growing creatively; and (2) just making the shows, all of the shows, with themselves as the camera-facing element has to be exhausting for them.

I still think this is a bad decision but I think it's one grounded in their own creative impulses and how hard they've been working for several years now, not some urge to suddenly live the high life. They want to make stuff they're personally proud of, and right now that's beyond their means. I'd make an argument that they should opt for scaling back instead of jumping forward right now, but that doesn't mean they're making this choice because they hate their fanbase or are suddenly a big corporation. They've made a mistake, and hopefully they'll be able to tweak the Watcher TV system in the next couple days to make it more affordable for all.

Millions of people across the country read the day’s headline on the front cover of The Sun.

“Helen Not-Normal. News star admitted to mental hospital.”

It had been Noelene to deliver the bad news to Helen, and Dale to show her the article in the flesh. The traumatic tale from her past, which she had spent her whole life trying to protect, was now public knowledge. The article detailed her mood swings, her instability, and the fact that she had been committed to a Melbourne mental institution as a young woman. Lindsay’s fingerprints were all over this, she knew this was his doing, but the comments made by her sister, Cathy O’Hare, stung deep down, especially when Cathy told her over the phone, “Helen, the article was awful, but it wasn’t false.”

Not knowing what else to do, Helen sobbed to her therapist; Dr Marcia Evans. Her viewers now knew she was mad. But they already did, Dr Marcia shared. She elaborated on this; that comedian that impersonates Helen every week, her whole act is that Helen is unhinged. Millions watch her, and the very next night, they still tune into Helen, because they respect and trust her. “What can you always control?” She reminded Helen. “My reaction,” Helen eventually managed. “You control what you do next, and what you do next tells everyone who you are.”

At the Public Eye office, Bill embraced Helen tightly. “You’re okay?” Bill asked her. Helen smiled softly. “Thank you.” Bill had called a couple of sub editors to gauge if this story had legs, and yes there would be follow ups. “Yep,” Helen acknowledged. Helen considered Noelene’s contact at Larundel. “No one ever touches this. And no one ever talks about it.” Maybe Public Eye could.

They were going to have a surge of viewers tuning in to see the woman that was thrown into an asylum. Helen would like for them to see the journalist. Although she didn’t want the focus to be solely on her, this was her story, and the ball was now in her court. She couldn’t control how it came to be public knowledge, but what she did next would affirm to everyone who she really was, and connect her with her viewers in a way that she could have never imagined was possible.

Murder by Choice comic/fic where it’s like those reincarnation manhwas where the MC goes back in time to right some wrongs and it’s Carla going back in time to the start of the game in the plane.

One, she has to pretend that she doesn’t know that Margot is an Overseer and straight up evil.

Two, she could try prevent the deaths on the island, easiest being Lukas, his being an accident, hardest probably being Portia’s bc Margot was hunting down Genetica info she thought Portia had access to.

Three, realising Freddie would still be getting blackmailed bc of Elena’s death that he caused.

Four, debating whether or not to warn Ruben from introducing the group to Haven.

Five, Carla having to act normal bc the vacation didn’t start off with Lukas dying so the stay isn’t tainted with death (at least in the beginning.

Six, Carla realising that Margot could’ve had dirt on other people, she doesn’t know who might be being blackmailed if she manages to skirt Freddie away from that fate. (Janet and her ghostwriters, Jax and his Mafia debts, maybe something else unknown about another character?)

Seven, just bc (if) she manages to save the ones who died previously, that might not save them, and/or someone else could meet a similar gruesome fate. (Probably again, Lukas, Portia, maybe Mrs Bird, and Q too, I could see Margot going after the employees as they would be the most loyal to Ruben to keep him safe. Hell, maybe Margot would deduce that Carla was interfering and tries to take her out personally, not using Freddie in the lighthouse if he’s come forward with his grievous mistake.) (no one is safe even if no one has died so far is my reasoning. I could even see using Dr Kat or Janet as a hostage, since they’re the arguably the most innocent in all of this.)

(Maybe this whole thing could be just some regular ‘godlike being intervened’ or it could straight up be an ‘unforeseen side effect of Genetica’ and maybe some of Genie’s dna got into Carla’s system and reacted like this. Who the fuck knows, but I want this to be a thing bc genuinely I would’ve loved to see a different path, where we could’ve saved people in the game, but I understand that the company wanting to make more chapters means there has to be some sort of continuity.)

The monster stood holding Jett in his arms and did not know what to do. She can't give it this psychopath. She didn't know how to save Lim. Everything is lost? Everything is over? But it was not there. The dagger comes out of nowhere and cuts Dr. Wonka's hand.

"AAAAHHHH! YOUR MOTHER!"

"WELL, DON'T MESS WITH MY FRIEND, YOU BASTARD!!!"

Jess stood from the corridor with a bloody dagger. And she looked at this freak with anger.

"Jess, what are you doing here!?"

"It doesn't matter, you with Jett and Lim run and find Albert and get out of here before it's too late, and I'll deal with this psycho-".

There was a loud shot and the bullet hit Jess right in the head. And then the monster panicked.

"JESS!"

Oddly enough, Jess is still alive with such a wound.

"Run....."

"WHAT!?"

"RUN!"

The monster ran away with Lim and Jett, and Jess was left alone.

Dr. Wonka stood and grinned at Jess.

"How are you? You're probably dying from pain. You shouldn't have messed with me, bitch".

Jess stood there laughing so loudly that Dr. Wonka was surprised. What's even more surprising is that the wound on Jess's forehead has healed.

"No, no, you're going to die soon, bastard. You messed with the wrong bitch. If you don't want the good, let's do the bad".

watching the good doctor after watching house md is such a trip oml.

claire is basically cameron, morgan is basically amber, there is a doctor called park (which gives me fucking whiplash btw lol).

lisa edelstein also has a recurring character!!! (the scream i scrumpt when she appeared out of nowhere in my post-series depression). she is also essentially a hybrid of house and wilson (oncologist, sarcastic but caring, manages her practice in her own way with implied medical malpractice, is amazing & i honestly love her).

and this is only in the first two series. apparently robert sean leonard makes a cameo too later as a fisherman?? i sadly got spoiled by a youtube clip, but it's wild.

the good doctor is not as entertaining as house md imo, but it's still good. plus, i have fallen in love with doctor lim. she rides a motorbike, gets numerous parking fines, she is once is on-call whilst she's in court bc of this, she is ridiculously competitive, beautiful and apparently is a bit of a nerd and wears comic book t-shirts.

edit: also! shaun & house being on opposite sides of the spectrum is another thing.

Dr. Romantic Series

Rewatching these three seasons one after the other has helped me appreciate the details I missed when watching each after the years of separation. I loved going back to the first one and then seeing that Kim Sabu kept in contact with Kang Dong Joo, Yoo Seo Jung and Do In Beom now that they were doing different things. I also made the connection between the mother of the paramedic in season 2 with season 3 as she appeared now and we can see her relationship with Seo Woo Jin. And of course the return of Kang Don Joo and Yoo Seo Jung is so much sweeter! I really love this series. Each season brings something new and just watching how Kim Sabu helps each of his students become better doctors and nurses, it warms my heart. The relationship between them all, the friendships and their love for what they do is in deed a beautiful romance.
