Andrew Lesnie immersed himself in the project by rereading the books and going through hundreds of sketches and paintings created by Tolkien artists Ted Nasmith, Alan Lee and John Howe. “The art department was a constant source of inspiration for me,” Lesnie recalls. “In the main hallway was a huge mural that was a condensed visual interpretation of the narrative for the trilogy. It consisted of conceptual drawings, set designs, costume designs, location photos and so forth. It was a matter of throwing everything into one great big pot and letting it simmer.” A big pot it certainly was, for the three films entailed 274 days of principal photography encompassing 600 scenes, 350 sets and more than 4 million feet of exposed negative. “The Lord of the Rings trilogy deals with such a staggering number of issues and takes so many directions that it’s better to let the process operate subliminally. That way, your work starts springing out of a different place than you might normally anticipate.” While Lesnie and Jackson viewed other films for elements such as staging or stylistic treatment, both knew that the books were the obvious source of inspiration. guy who went on a dangerous hero's journey to find his missing fiancee. the fiancee dumped him and he does not realise this until after he's almost died several times.

fortune teller who freely tells previous clients that she's a scammer and just spouts bullshit. she may actually be psychic and just not know it.

corpse that decided the afterlife was boring so he just stopped being dead and got up out of his grave before he could finish being buried, scaring the shit out of the man burying him.

head of a city planning and development corporation who, in his attempt to kill a landowner in an "accident" to take his land and build stuff there, inadvertantly created an undead eldritch abomination that is after his ass specifically.

We don't talk about Helen Blackthorn enough imo.

Her father was killed during the war, and yet her loyalties were still questioned because her mom was a faerie.

She was sent to Siberia in exile for YEARS!!!!

Meanwhile her brother was kidnapped and the Clave was like "well he's fae what do we care?"

Her other brother ended up having to almost become a father figure to his other siblings at the age of 12, because Helen wasn't allowed to take care of them!

She was only able to get permission to get married in exchange for being made a public example and humiliated!

Even after her uncle died, Helen was still not allowed to become head of the Los Angeles Institute, despite living in Siberia and doing extensive research on wards, which would later become how the Clave knew that Malcolm Fade was up to something! She would only be allowed to be co-head of the Institute after the Clave was exiled from Idris.

And when she was finally able to reunite with her siblings again they had all grown up so much they didn't want anything to do with her and viewed Julian as their go to person when they needed something! They thought of Helen as a stranger and not their older sister.

Just thinking about Little Will struggling to find a talent that fits with his other siblings, watching them ace Archery and Music no problem, and feeling really self-conscious about it.

Lee making the decision to have him shadow Michael in the infirmary and Michael immediately being taking him under his wing.

First time Will's healing abilities show up Will's confused as to what had just happened but Michael is pumped. Lee practically could see him glowing when they meet back for dinner Michael's so proud.

Anytime anyone even tries to talk down to Will about his lack of Archery or Music expertise like his siblings Michael has to be held back from throwing hands. Especially cause he knows Will takes it to heart.

After BoM, Will's self confidence plummets due to losing his biggest support system and having to take care of so many lives on his own. It doesn't really start to build back up until Nico starts noticing and helps him through it.
