I think also what's so tragic about Yuuta/Gojo is that Yuuta might be the one who, aside from Shoko and Getou, understands Gojo best. He was there when things fell apart for the final time, and he returned when they began to fall apart in a new, horrifying way. Yuuta wasn't just Gojos protégé, he was the prototype for creating a new society of young sorcerers. Yuuta was proof it could be done.
And they're so similar in mindsets, if not philosophies. Yuuta understands love as an inevitable curse, because of course he does. His curse is just.... a lot more corporeal than his sensei's.
Yuuta is Gojo. He's Gojo if Gojo was saved. He's what happens when love and hope and friendship really do win.
And he truly believed the same could be done for Gojo. Probably until the very end.

Andromeda wasn't perfect by ANY means, but it is set a whole galaxy and 600 years after the event of the main trilogy. The arcs also left between me2 and me3 so the big consequences from the 3rd game are understandably disconnected from andromeda. We have the basics of the milky way culture and history (genophage, first contact war, protheans, the council, AI legislature, Cerberus) and that acts as a platform for the other things. I even thought Alec's voice journals in his cabin where he's talking with Liara and the (I think) haunting references to the reapers made it feel like yes, these people were from The Milky Way we knew from the original trilogy. How that was handled in the context of the exploration/colonization of Andromeda is a different post but my point is, the game was connected to the past games in the ways it needed to be to feel believable.
Veilguard was set 10 years after the previous installment, and placed on the same continent as the first 3 games. There are several characters from the previous games, books, comics, and other media. The factions that the player can choose origin from have at least been mentioned in previous media, two of which are actually very familiar to the player (crows and wardens). The one touched on the least (LoF) is led by a previous companion that was the only LI to be put in a (whitewashed) trailer. Morrigan, the most iconic Dragon Age character, is there and interacting with the elven goddess she has since learned was the 'demon' possessing her all powerful apostate swamp abusive mother. She might also have a son with the soul of an archdemon, which in VG is confirmed were the dragon thralls of the evanuris - the main enemy of the entire game. Yet it feels so utterly unplugged and devoid of all context for the 20 in-game years since we were first in Thedas as players. It feels like a puppet show, disjointed and empty of all connection and meaning it claims to have. ANYWAY

so what if there was a scene when thelma had her hair in a braid while louise had her hair down? so what if they stop dressing up specifically feminine the more they accept their role as fugitives from the law and american society?

byan's distrust and outright fear of hospitals is something that's come up a bit in threads and muse discussion, but i've never really talked about why they hate them so much?
for one, they have a heavy distrust of any authority figures, including doctors and nurses. pair that with the fact that being treated in the hospital puts them in a vulnerable position and not in any control of things going on around them or to them, that's already enough reason for them to hate the place. and YET... the thing that really traumatized them and created a proper fear of hospitals happened when they were 12. after running away from an abusive foster home, which put them back on the street as they had no where else to go, byan stole from the wrong person and wound up severely injured in the resulting altercation. someone found them, called an ambulance, and they woke up in a hospital bed. using clues from the things they'd had stuffed away in their backpack, the hospital managed to find byan's identity and, from there, found their family - or, the foster family they were still technically under the care of. when the nurse told them that their family had been called and was already on the way, byan panicked and pleaded with her to not let them in, but... of course that didn't work. she thought they were merely afraid of the consequences of running away and being out so late in such an unsafe part of the city, brushing off their concerns to assure them that everything would be fine. it wasn't.
going to the hospital resulted in the family they fled from not only finding them, but dragging them back to that terrible house which became much, much more difficult to escape from after that. and that's all they can think about anytime they're in one of those buildings, be it in a bed or simply visiting.

I started saying this in the tags of the last post but I decided it should also be on its own. Bc I can't remember if I ever talked about it here or not and it's sooooo real in my mind.
Anton is absolutely 100% the type of guy who sneaks his partner onto demolition sites for fun. Both during work and after when nobody else is there. He treats it either as "come to the site and I'll let you in, I'm borrreedddd" or "here I wanna show you something cool I found / am working on," but almost every time it's just him wanting to get all kissy and handsy in a half torn down building or show off by breaking stuff he's not technically supposed to be touching without the rest of the crew there.

anybody else feel that being human is like being a long-time syndicated cartoon character watching the world get more complex while your own design stays the same until youre incongruous with the reality around you??
