one morning post-heroes of olympus when everyone's at chb having breakfast in the dining pavillion percy just comes storming in towards annabeth with the most panicked look on his face, and everyone's like ?????? what is going on?????

but annabeth's trying so hard not to laugh bc percy's still in pajamas and clearly has just woken up and the panic is not his usual "we're going to die" panic so she's not worried

and percy takes her face in his hands and just looks at her and says "if i hadn't blown up would we have gotten together after you kissed me in the volcano?"

and annabeth thinks quietly for a moment before nodding, and percy just collapses on the ground with his head in his hands muttering things about stupid volcanoes and magical islands while she starts laughing

and it takes a second but malcolm's the first to get it and he just looks at his sister "YOU KISSED HIM BEFORE THE WAR?"

and the head counselors lose their MINDS because yeah clarisse won the bet for when percy and annabeth get together but goddamit who was close to winning it and travis pulls out his notebook and it was malcolm who bet they would get together after the labyrinth quest, and he just drops his head down on the table and screams because he had to endure another year of the two of them pining after each other and being awkward
