Vi it doesn’t let people call her many nicknames/pet names but a headcanon that reader can only call her one (I personally call her Vi Vi)😂

SO I HAVE SOME THOUGHTS. bc obviously, i spend way too many waking hours thinking about vi and just -- anyway.

i agree, but i also think that she has a love-hate relationship with her real name -- on the one hand, she loves it when you call her violet, and it feels special, the way you say it, the way you make it sound like something so much more than a name. (and it's so nice the way it rolls off your tongue when you beg for her -- violet, violet, please!)

and bc when she was younger (and way more angsty), she thought it sounded soft, a flower, violets, right? she looked it up once in the flower dictionary and rolled her eyes so hard when she saw that they symbolize modesty and humility (something about the term "shrinking violets" got to her), two things that she was so not into (at least not then, and tbh... she still struggles with them now lmfao), so she likes just "vi", and she'll occasionally let a really close friend slide if they just call her "v", but mostly, if anyone tries to call her anything other than "vi", she'll click her tongue and be like "sorry, sweets, that ain't my name."

but with you... she likes it when you call her "love", or when you say "morning, moonlight", and when she asks you why "moonlight" you tell her that it's because, little do people know, the moon cares way more than the sun.

"because... the sun shines for itself right?"

"yeah..."

"but the moon... the moon shines for everyone else."

"uh... how d'you figure that one out, cupcake?"

"because the moon doesn't produce it's own light. it has to take the light of the sun and reflect it back towards us -- look, see? she's a worrier, so she tries so hard to light up the dark for us, to make sure that even at night, there's something we can see by. even when she knows most of the world is dreaming, she's still out there, lighting up the dark for all those people who might need her light to see."

"well... if i'm the moon, does that make you the sun?"

As a southerner whose family has a farm, I really do love to see how y'all have managed to romanticize southern farm life😭

All feeding the animals, fucking the buff butch farmhand in haybales and wearing cute overalls - none of the stench animal shit and pit sweat, none of the sweltering, humid weather, none of the confusion as to whether whats covering your jeans is in fact pig shit or mud, or having to watch the ground when you walk in fear of snakes/fire ant hills. Like slay mama, romanticize that old farm out in the sticks💅🏾

Anon, you have the. Best. Timing. Ever. I literally just finished an Arcane artstyle study with Katara of the Undercity as a subject!

My favorite Arcane character is and forever shall be Ekko (best boy). Other faves are Viktor (chronic illness baby) and Jinx (trauma gremlin).

As for the S1 scene... Besides the finale and that breathtaking Guns for Hire sequence? The Ekko/Jinx fight from ep 7. It broke me. (And turned me into a Timebomb shipper. Which was arguably worse.)

I know Heimerdinger's Christian Linke's favorite character, and I sort of tolerated it in s1, but now it feels like things are a little too indulgent. Heimerdinger gets to team up with Ekko to launder his reputation through Ekko and the Firelights. Heimerdinger gets the first narrative game and second character teaser in the promotional cycl. Heimerdinger gets to SING A SONG that's included on the s2 Arcane soundtrack (Spin the Wheel).

Maybe I'd be less annoyed if the show at least did more to acknowledge Heimerdinger's failings as a leader, but his character description can't even do that. This is how the official Arcane website describes Heimerdinger:

"Heimerdinger warned the Piltover Council about the dangers of using magic without tangible solutions for safeguarding its use. Learning from his mistakes with Jayce, Heimerdinger inspires Ekko to keep looking for a solution and works with him to solve the problem, instead of just offering advice."

That's not Heimerdinger's main problem! The problem is the fact he's the person most singularly responsible for the state of Zaun and Piltover. It feels like the show and the cast are just dancing around the fact that Heimerdinger technically has the highest body count in the show (Day of Ash, pollution, extreme poverty, etc). The one time someone puts him to task (Jayce), the show makes it seem like Jayce is wrong or overstepped, and yeah he did do it for Viktor's sake, but Jayce was right! Heimerdinger's bad at his job, he shouldn't be in a leadership position if he's a bad leader.
