This is why the bit of undramatized backstory I’m most burningly curious about is probably Flint & Gates. How did they become genuine friends. (And at a time when Flint - who is a ten-time gold medalist in Not Making Friends - was presumably at his most wounded and walled-off and feral, to boot?) What made Hal so loyal to him. How did Flint also lowkey decide that Hal was his pirate dad. Is Hal even remotely aware that he’s been cast in the role of Flint’s pirate dad. Is Flint even self-aware about casting Hal in the role of his pirate dad, or is this all writhing sea serpents living in the here-be-dragons zone of his traumatized subconscious

This will probably be my last post about Murder Drones ever, but I really do love that the message of the finale is basically just…we should do more cringe things.

Liam Vickers is out here making a silly little robot show with no particularly deep or existential message (which half the fandom was expecting) and is instead smashing his characters together like dolls, making them anime fight with nightcore music in the background, and giving them fucked up to the point of ridiculousness character development/trauma, with the message that this is fun and lighthearted and that we should kill cringe culture and instead do more of what he’s doing.

And honestly? Go off king, that is a GREAT message to spread and a delightful subversion to what everyone was expecting for the finale. We SHOULD spend more time doing cringe things and making fanart and pop culture references and edgy OCs. You’re so correct that not everything needs to be deep or meaningful.

I know a lot of people are going to hate the finale for the lack of story, but honestly this show is just here to have fun and I’m rolling with that. Go be cringe and weird and free.

I forgot about how killing eve's writing just starts getting progressively worse the more season 3 goes on. Like girl what happened to my show.......... my characters......... what did they DO to villanelle...................... and where is EVE

#eve is gone for like half the season #and villanelle has suddenly developed empathy and started caring about killing...........#like listen ok I get not wanting to kill anymore. especially after she killed her mother #but it doesn't justify her personality doing a complete 180 like that??#like suddenly she cares when she kills people. suddenly she's not being manipulative with eve anymore #like. I could buy into a character arc like that if it made sense and didn't come out of nowhere. but it came out of NOWHERE #it's like the writer suddenly decided she was gonna make villanelle a better person #but didn't really put that much effort into setting that change up #everything that happens as season 3 goes on only really works if you don't think too much about it #and it's like the closer you get to the end the more they're asking you to suspend your disbelief #which got rlly hard for me on that last episode tbh. as much as I think the scene on the bridge is cute #all I could think about was 'villanelle feels so off. I don't think she'd act like this at all in previous seasons'#and the change just doesn't feel earned #maybe it could make sense but you have to really dig to try to find reasons why. the show sure doesn't give you many on-screen #just like it doesn't give many answers on-screen to anything at all LMAO RIGHT ON EP1 #we never learn who found eve at rome and how #we never learn much of anything about how she got where she is #we never see the main couple TALK about what happened in rome. but they're suddenly cool with it after 1 fight on the bus #AND I LOVE THE BUS KISS it's probably the best scene out of the whole season #but god I wish it wasn't the only moment where we see them hashing things out #and then on ep1 there's kenny's death being used as a plot device......#and then the investigation of his murder also being 1 huge plot device #which kinda goes nowhere besides getting mentioned here and there and at the end being like #'oh! konstatin killed kenny!! do you guys remember that this whole season started off being about kenny?? remember that you guys???'#like. bold thing to do when 90% of the season wasn't about any of that #it just felt so disjointed :/ I was so sad on this rewatch bc I loved s1&2 so much............. and I forgot how bad it got after #and I know s4 is about to get worse........ oh boy #I'm almost considering not rewatching it tbh #killing eve #sleep.txt

look i clocked the murderer in p4 pretty early on but you know what did stump me completely? they introduced a massive corporation with a bright happy jingle which was slowly taking over the entire local economy of a small town and splintering its longstanding tight-knit community and somehow this didn't end up being a conspiracy plot or sinister reveal. nothing to do with the murder. every day's great at your junes

#the literal entire game i was waiting for the other shoe to drop on junes #i was like nothing can ever tell me that every day's great this many times without it being some kind of sinister conspiracy #the real culprit is this corporation. they're behind the murders. this is about capitalism somehow #nope? i guess? you go there to eat steak and use their flatscreens?#like yeah the game is happy to show you the damage that junes is doing #and it's like... kind of thematically relevant?? and it's obviously central to saki and yosuke's initial arc #but like. you just go shopping there. it's shops. nanako likes to sing its happy song.#it adds to the theme of disillusionment etc but no more than any other major corporation. junes itself is not more sinister than amazon #and as a plot device it is really just straight up walmart for most of the game. walmart played straight #anyway. every day's great at your junes #rookposting #p4

no, but the way, cersei brushes sansa's hair with her fingers after telling her ilyn payne will kill her if stannis wins his battle, so they can all die together. this intimate, almost maternal gesture following a death threat. and then later a similar gesture is used with her actual child, when intimidating the king himself, her youngest, after threatening to have his whipping boy brought in to be beaten before them. just as she scared sansa, she scares tommen, also thought to be meek as sansa was. cersei only knows how to rule through fear but in these certain cases, she can sometimes mix in acts of tenderness too for a particularly unsettling combination.

I just. god. the reason that anything can happen to these people At All is because, somehow, Every Single One Of Them decided that it was a good idea to accept an invite to the World's Most Suspicious Event at the World's Most Suspicious Place. "hmm!! I'm sure nothing strange or horrific is going to happen to us up on our rich friend's isolated mountain lodge; why would it?? I mean, sure, we Are going to be up there on the exact same date that we inadvertently triggered the events of his sisters' disappearance, but surely he's not upset with us about that or anything. let's go!!" seven separate people. nobody thought anything of it. it's incredible. impressive, even. I mean, I don't know. me personallyyyyy?? I probably would've received that invitation and thought, "oh, he's For Sure gonna do something to us up there, and he For Sure has the means to get away with it; I'm Not Gonna Go." but. hey. that's just me.
