Honestly all of these can and should be listed in my top faves as well (and only weren't listed there because I knew I was going to put them in this section XD)

The Lighthouse (2019), Suspiria (1977) (though I love the 2018 remake as well) Okaruto (2009), Perfect Blue (1997), Bone Tomahawk (2015). The Lighthouse gets bonus points because it was the movie that made me fall in love with film as an artwork in general.

Many people are familiar with the director James Gunn for his work on movies like Guardians of the Galaxy, but he actually got his start with Troma studios, cowriting Tromeo and Juliet (1997) with Troma founder Lloyd Kaufman. He also wrote the live action Scooby Doo movie. (I actually only knew him from his work with Troma and his 2006 horror comedy Slither and had no idea he did comic book movies until like... this year. I will continue to only know him for these because I don't care about Marvel movies XD I might watch the Scooby Doo movie though, it was an integralpart of Arin's childhood :P).

Ofc shes gonna pop out like how zane did but that gets me curious on why they’re being placed into a cage like thing that keeps them unconscious. I’m assuming it’s the administration at fault again, and now I’m wondering if they might re-introduce a few other nindroids like this too, such an Cryptor or Mr E, and Echo if he and Mr E aren’t the same.

Also in the trailer behind the Chaos Dragons (pretty sure thats what it’s called) and when Lloyd was fighting theres a huge wind barrier surrounding a bunch of buildings, so MORRROOOOO. He’s not the wind master anymore but I still think they’re gonna show him connected to the wind in some sort of way.

Also the new suits look so good in the animation bro they look soooo cool.

I think they’re gonna give Zane a lot more this season, at least hopefully battle wise too because he’s shown battling twice in the trailer, once against this big thing and another against Nokt.

Not to be the over analyzing Cole fan… but am I the only one both surprised and delighted by this shot?

Cole is in the front and center, running, and he looks SO cool! I am rotting for him and everything he does!

Now, I need to admit this is weird. Cole is rarely put in front and center for shots, he is usually in the back, SPECIALLY in running shots, that’s why I have the head cannon that due to his weight/muscle he is not that fast (When compared to the other Ninja) And the show seems to follow this. To be honest I am having a hard time thinking of a running shot when he is front and center that doesn’t belong to Master of The Mountain. Because in there it doesn't matter whether or not he is the fastest, he was the focus character, therefore the focus of the shot goes to him.

And THAT'S what has me so intrigued. Master of the Mountain was Cole’s focus season, his moment to shine, it made sense when he was leading the Upply for him to be front and center... But Now? I am surprised it isn't Nya.

Okey, ignore for a second, the fact that Cole was one of the main 4, ignore the fact that he was the original leader of the team. Dragons risings is a soft reboot. Meaning that while all the other seasons are still relevant, A soft reboot is written in a way someone that has not watched the previous seasons can still jump in and follow along. That's why we have Arin and Sora, new characters that allow the writers to re-explain old concepts without it looking like the characters we grew up with are being idiots.

With this in mind I have to ask... Why is Cole front and center? (And I repeat, he is my absolutely favorite character here) but from the soft reboot perspective... isn't Cole a new character? isn't Cole someone new to the team and therefore new to the plot and narrative? In relationship to the plot and narrative of the soft reboot, Sora is the character we have spent more time with, yet it doesn't make sense for her to be front and center. Sora has not expressed desire to be the leader, and doesn't have the push to lead a team (at least not rn, when we only have her development up to half s1, and the trailer for part 2). Nya on the other hand, she is a character that through Sora's eyes -our POV character in essence- has some sort of authority, we have been with her for longer too. Nya is someone Sora can look up to, learn from, and follow... So it would make sense to have Nya in the front and center... Yet she is not even next Cole.

Notice how not only are both Sora and Nya parallels at the back, not front, they are also blurry... In fact, Cole is the ONLY character in this shot who is not blurry. In addition to being front and center, the animators blur the other characters as Cole runs closer to the camera. Hell, even in the composition, you could draw a clear triangle with the other characters, and Cole is a the peak. He is the focal point, and this ensures the viewer is looking at Cole, but more importantly HIS expression.

His is the only expression that is 1) clear to see, and 2) not showing fear. He is angry, focused... determined.

This bring the actual question of the post... Why use these visual framing devices this way if not to give Narrative focus to Cole?

Could this episode focus on Cole? could we maybe see how he found the formling and the serpentine? notice too how they are next to Cole, and in front of Nya and Sora -aka closer to Cole (Maybe both figurative and literally)-... Could this episode touch on his new team, perhaps show him leading? Because I can't think of another narrative reason as to why they would put so much visual focus of a running scene on Cole.

And you could say "Duh, the episode is of when they find Cole, of curse they are going to focus on him" and You'll be correct, but also you are not getting my point. What I am saying is that, if this level of focus is anything to go by, Cole fans are going to eat, this episode is going to be a meal. Cole is about to kick some mech's ass so bad that bitch is going to go back to the mechanic crying and we as viewers are going to have front row seats to the whole thing.

Cole might be having a focus episode where his leadership skills are shown, where he is being fatherly, where he is showing himself as the responsible rock of the team. THIS is not any focus episode, this is a five start restaurant meal. A buffet.

Anyways... I am trying to keep my hopes low, but I needed to put this out there real quick.

i guess reigen could be a surprisingly heavy sleeper, once he actually manages to put himself to bed. serizawa i could see being prone to sleeping too much, or alternating between anxiety all-nighters and and sleeping through the day. he's surely working on it, though.

i enjoy the fanon that papyrus Does Not Sleep. that he needs less sleep and also has an interesting sleep schedule.

i have other faves, but i don't think i've especially thought about their sleep before, and nothing came to me now either. but luckily my ocs are also my favorite characters! putting them under the readmore so i can go ham hehe

vaal can go without sleep way longer than humans can, but e purposefully sleeps every night. e curls up in the middle of so many pillows and blankets and hot water bottles. sleeping for a long time leaves em kinda cold and stiff, and then it takes a while for em to warm up and wake up.

arin has a really regular sleep schedule despite the whole chaotic inventor thing. they get cranky if they can't do their whole sleepy time routine. a big part of it is about just. dealing with their prosthetics and other supportive magic shit. can't sleep comfortably with them on and running. sleeps on their back, sleep mask on.

sam can fall asleep anywhere, and often crashes right to bed when she finally gets home. she sleeps pretty well, but often doesn't have time to sleep quite enough. doesn't dream, or at least couldn't tell you a single time she did. prefers to sleep naked.

tess has a hard time falling asleep, both because she often gets absorbed in something around bedtime, and because it's hard for her to turn off her brain and fall asleep once in bed. this leads to lots of reading in bed. their bed is a princess four-poster deal. i don't know if body pillows are a thing in the setting, but she def hugs something when she sleeps.

... leskel doesn't sleep unless he involuntarily passes out. he should sleep more. someone needs to pin him down with like five weighted blankets and keep them on for like a full day, and maybe it would fix him.

Badboyhalo - バッドボーイハロー　pretty straight forward the words ~bad~,~boy~ and ~halo~ already have standardize ways of writing in kana

DanTDM - ダン・ティ・ディ・エム　dan is simple and the roman letters also have common writing (and this dot ・is used to space foreign names that have multiple words in them)

FitMC - フィット・エム・シー　~fit~ as a word already has a way to be written in kana, and yes the letter C is pronouced "shii" not "see"

Foolish - フーリシ　if you want to elongate a vowel it makes more sense to be the ~fu~ not the ~li~ sound (like ~foooolish~ is closer to foolish then ~foliiiiish~)

IronMouse - アイロンマウス　again both ~iron~ and ~mouse~ already have standardize writing in kana (OP got iron right but misspelled mouse)

3) who did you not expect to like, but once you read their route, you loved?

I had this with a whole series: Villainous Nights. When the concept was first posited in a survey, I voted against it. We already had crime series, and dating the stereotypical take-over-the-world supervillain didn’t appeal to me. Then Villainous Nights premiered and revealed itself to be “Destroy Capitalism Nights” and I jumped on that train and never got off. Andi and Renzei are my favorites.

As for a single character: Elliot Graham in Speakeasy Tonight. I literally turned to my wife like “Why am I having feelings for this hunk?? I didn’t give myself permission for that!! Why???” [high octave screech]

I’m strictly free-to-play on Lovestruck. Unlike in apps like Choices or Chapters, missing out on Heart scenes doesn’t affect the story, and the writers take pains to not make it too painful to miss out. The plot make sense. MC is still badass, and there’s plenty of kisses and affection.

The Heart quests are a life-saver: before, you had to pay for the whole route or wait until you finished one of the puzzles! I can collect Hearts easy. I usually spend them on shorts, since those are easy to re-visit, but for special occasions I unlock a whole season. Right now, I’m working on unlocking all of Mackenzie’s wedding and honeymoon seasons, for example.

28) underrated route you’re just BEGGING everyone to read or ask for?

Overall, I’m really proud of fandom’s consistent call for more queer routes and characters of color! Lovestruck does have a racism and colorism problem. The white hair + white skin characters exhaust me. Characters’ ethnicity aren’t acknowledged in text enough and/or the Voltage upper management consistently chooses paler skin tones for the characters, such as GiL MC (Hispanic) and Castaway MC (I’ve heard Native Hawaiin/Kanaka Maoli and Indian: what is the truth?). Lucien’s debut was a whole thing, because the artists couldn’t draw his skin tone correctly. Smarter people than me have talked about this, and I’m glad to be here to boost and witness.

I guess if I had to have a wishlist, it would be: Roux (possibly pre-at-Jessa’s-bar), Gamma, Arin, Jace, Hazel, Kellan, Opal, Cinder with a writer from one of the many Indigenous tribes of the Great Plains, Diana, and, of course, Zeke.

Must Have Video Games Tag Meme

Alright, so, I don’t post a lot of personal stuff on here, but I guess I can’t fight being tagged by the great @pi3pr0xy​. ;p

So, I got into videogames when I was really young because I had a hip disease, the name is lost on me, but it was something that caused my hip bone cartilage to deteriorate and my bones would start rubbing against each other. I was basically out of commission for playing outside for a few months and my mom had just bought my older brother (who is a big ‘ol redneck) a SNES, which ended up being mine, and the rest is history.

Megaman X - SNES

This was the first game I can remember playing as a kid. This game was the absolute bomb. It had amazing controls, beautiful jraphics, and a compelling story line that pulled me in immediately. This is also the only game I remember playing with my dad who passed away when I was still young. I highly recommend this game to anyone who loves old school platformers.

Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past - SNES

I can already sense people who are fans of Game Grumps that there’s a pattern of me picking some of Arin’s all time favorite games as my favorites, but long before I had the internet, I had a 12″ CRT TV at my grandma’s house. A TV on which I would first discover Link, a small boy tasked with saving all of Hyrule. This game was what jumped me into the LOZ series and I’ve fallen in love ever since. The feeling of adventure I felt in this game was immense. I spent hours finding new things, discovering secrets, and just enjoying being in the world.

Final Fantasy VII - Playstation

Call me a fanboy all you want, but this game revolutionized what I thought games could do. with very limited 3D graphics and pre-rendered backgrounds, this game might not look like much, but it’s storyline was amazing. I was engrossed the moment I turned on the game. The Chocobo, the size of Cloud’s sword, the Highwind, and for the love of God; Materia. The Materia mechanic is what really drove this game home for me. I would grind for hours to get the right Materia for the right fight and I loved it even nowadays when people hate the notion of grinding. I had the dopest selection of Materia for all situations and I couldn’t have been prouder.

Conker’s Bad Fur Day - N64

This is the game that gave me a potty mouth. This fucking squirrel was nuts. From helping a bee fuck a flower with boobs, to fighting a opera singing pile of shit, a creepy zombie level, and even a D-Day re-enactment between squirrels and Nazi teddy bears, Conker’s was Bonkers. Through all the horrible language and imagery, this game was an excellent platformer, and really got me into the N64. I guess the normal game to say you have to play on the N64 is Super Mario 64, but nope, this game all the way.

Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 - Xbox 360

This series was the absolute best at getting you to invite 1-3 friends over and just having a blast slashing and shooting your way through zombies. Seriously, this is the zombie equivalent of Mario Party. I honestly sunk hours and even days into this game trying to get all the achievements. The characters are lovable, the areas are interesting, and the Finales are kickass!

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Xbox 360

Here she is. Big Momma Fantasy. The game that made me feel like a God killing demon. Skyrim, for anyone who doesn’t know, is the fifth game in the Elder Scrolls series, and holy shit, I jumped into this series too late, but this is the one I started with. I’ve never spent so much hours in one day on a game then Skyrim. Playing it on a CRT TV with my iHome blasting Scary Monsters and nice sprites will stick with me until I die.

Borderlands 2 - Xbox 360

Handsome Fucking Jack is the best fucking villain of any game ever.

Nier:Automata - PC

Nier:Automata is a game about anime tiddies, androids, and huge swords, so it hits all my weak points. This game started out super intense and I wasn’t sure how I would enjoy it, but then the world opened up to me and suddenly I felt amazing being in control of 2B, the main character. Her fluid attacking animations and spacious areas to traverse and learn are intoxicating. I got lost in this game so fast. Everything in this game is polished (Besides the optimization issues) and being an android fighting machines controlled by robots is just sick as fuck. I liked the game so much I played it 3 times to get the final ending (Plus the 26 other endings. Yeah, 26 fucking endings), which holy shit, I didn't think there was a game I would enjoy playing 3 times in a row. Oh, but wait-

Bloodborne - PS4

You like Victorian architecture? You like horrible, malformed beasts? You like games that are HARD AS FUCK!? I introduce Bloodborne! I love everything about this game. From the art style to the combat, it's all golden. If you think you have what it takes, and it'll probably take a couple of times, you're gonna absolutely love this game. Oh, did I mention that you can just keep playing it into infinity or you can try your hand at PVP, or not. I sincerely hope you don't. I'm already on New Game +10

Stardew Valley - PC

So. You all know Harvest Moon, right? One of the pioneers of farming games. Want to know something cool? Stardew Valley takes everything that made Harvest Moon great and amplifies it by ten. With beautifully detailed 2D graphics, a lovable town filled with unique friends and potential partners, I played this game far more than any of the others. I've gotten quite bored of it after many, many hours now that I have oodles of money to buy anything, but just when I was about to hang up this game as done but fuck-

They introduced a multiplayer function which you can edit how much money you make from selling things, so you know I played that boy with one other person and made everything 1/4 the price so I can feel like a real farmer, struggling to make ends meet. Honestly though, if you love having a good time, this is the game to play.

LAYER ONE : THE OUTSIDE

Name -  Arin Donovan Morrison Eye colour -  Dark brown Hair style / colour - Dirty blond, kept short and a bit untidy/spikey? this image is a good reference Height -  6′3′’ Clothing style -  His professional attire is navy blue scrubs and usually a white doctor’s/lab coat with his name tagged pinned to the pocket. Outside of work, he’s rather casual - wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Button up shirts aren’t just for formal events, he likes to wear them even if he’s just going out for a drink. He wears sneakers at all times when he isn’t required to wear formal attire. Best physical feature:  His smile ^^

LAYER TWO : THE INSIDE

Fears -  Always lives with the fear of failing his patients and families. It’s sad to say that it has happened more times than he would like and acts as though he has grown used to it because death is a part of the job - he can’t save everyone - but those that know him well know that it is just an act, and every patient he loses devastates him.  Guilty pleasure -  Re-enacting Tom Cruise’s Risky Business dance scene (underwear and socks and all) while he’s cleaning up in his apartment (not so much in his parents’ mansion because a) his parents do have a maid, and b) potential witnesses are all too common in that house) Biggest pet peeve -  His mother (and people in general) sticking their nose in businesses that aren’t theirs just for the sake of being nosy. Ambitions for the future -  He’s already living his dream of being a surgeon so he’d say settling down and having a family (with a man or woman, it doesn’t matter), working hard right up until his retirement and living out the rest of his life hopefully with his significant other.

LAYER THREE : THOUGHTS

First thoughts upon waking up: “I wonder how my patients are doing?” What you think about most: See above tbh What you think about before bed: Once again, his patients, especially if he performed surgeries that day. What your best quality is - He would probably say that he’s good at talking to people, especially families and loved ones of patients; he knows how to comfort them when he doesn’t have good news, and absolutely loves seeing their reaction when he brings them good news.

LAYER FOUR : WHAT’S BETTER ?

Single or group dates -  He prefers single dates but if he’s with a group of good friends he’s up for the latter. To be loved or respected -  Both are important Beauty or brains -  Brains Dogs or cats -  Dogs because he’s had more of those than cats throughout his life.

on saturday I brushed my teeth, watered plants, scooped cat litter, made a favorites post for patreon, transcribed audio (good quality but a lot of research), checked the mail, appealed some flagged post, replaced air filters, hung out on the disgorb, sorted trash and recycling, put away the ferrets, worked on arin’s blanket, assembled meds, drew kirby, fed the fish, brushed my teeth again, gave jackie greenies, and did duolingo.

on Sunday I cancelled Monday’s allowance (cuz etsy money will come in), re-set up allowance for the following week, brushed my teeth, looked up stuff about weather changes, changed patreon goals, worked on arin’s blanket, hung out on the disgorb, texted with mom, checked in with arin, helped trim ferret nails, drew kirby, watered the plants, fed the fish, brushed my teeth again, gave jackie greenies, and did duolingo.
