1. Canon I outright reject: None, free my lady, she did all that but I love her for how complex it makes her.

2. A canon or headcanon hill I will die on: While I do believe that burning down her house as a kid was an accident, I think she was abused by her parents before that fact. Like, in the flashback to when Radiance found her, the way she was apologizing profusely, + how quickly she became attached to Radiance after being given even the slightest amount of positive treatment

I was inspired by @isabeth-apologist to share one of my old fics as well! It's sad that ao3 hasn't been able to archive the old aroiis forums, I remember a lot of good fics from back then :(

I already submitted it to @icerosesummerbracket a bit ago, but why not post it to ao3 to make it more official? And maybe I'll write a new fic to help really ring in this fandom revival!

I've been searching for it all day, but I've finally found one of the fanarts I've made of Isabeth back in the day!!! Her dubious ethics, bleach fried hair, and awful fashion sense had 7th grade me in a chokehold < 3

Also, I totally forgat that her being a ginger is not canon lmao, but I always imagined her that way, so freckled, pale, pasty Isabeth is what you get

With Isabeth I already answered a song and a poem that remind me of her, but now I went back and dug up a quote that reminded me of her too (under a "keep reading" bc there was like a long internal monologue that I pulled several quotes from)

Roscuro lore established so far: Roscuro is Radiance's right-hand man throughout book 1, and he's mentioned to be just as brutal as she is. He's the father of Belladonna and Fennel, but to him it seems as though they are more like further tools to be used to further Radiance's goals, rather than feeling any proper familial bond. After Roscuro fails in book 1, Radiance pits him and Isabeth against each other, making Isabeth the one to technically kill him by hand.

Cian lore established so far: Cian is Kivan's older brother. He's something of a prodigy, though the details of that have been left vague so far. Cian's reputation makes things hard for Kivan, though it seems like it's not really Cian's fault- he's described as being humble and caring towards Kivan, unaware of what the problem is because Kivan never felt like it was fair to be mad at Cian for it. On another note, Cian is in a relationship with Daisy, the ship name for the two being called "Metal Magic", due to Daisy being an automaton and Cian being a fae

Please note that lore can still be added for either as long as it doesn't contradict anything previously established as canon

Also im not normal about how even at the start of the final confrontation with Isabeth, Lux is trying to reach out to her and tell her it doesnt have to be like this, she can join them she can start over she can make things right with everyone else, but its only when she turns him down that the wave of light energy happens- in other words, she only becomes "too far gone" when she decides that she is, when she decides that shes committed too much to Radiance to ever turn back
