I made a uquiz for what kind of magic would come naturally to you in the aRoIiS universe!

I remember taking a LOT of these back in the day, so I thought I'd make one of my own, now that it's having it's renaissance thanks to @icerosesummerbracket

[OOC: okay, so basically what I was trying to do here was introduce a basic concept for a magic system via uquiz. My idea was that similar to the four phlegm based temperaments, in this universe everyone could have element based temperaments. Anyone can practice any type of magic, but based on your temperament(s), some come more naturally, and some are so hard, they're simply not worth the effort. I also had the revolutionary idea, that doing magic (brace yourselves) could actually be Quite Hard and Exhausting, so the closer the nature of the magic is to your innate temperament, the easier time you'll have with it. If anyone has any other ideas for this, PLEASE tell me. The names for the different subtypes of magic could also use some work. My spelling probably sucks, so excuse that please. Aaaand the share image I used was made by @ceaselessbeholder. Hope you have fun with the quiz!]

As a disclaimer, it's been years since I read the books, so this might be wildly inaccurate in places, idk, but I think I got the general vibes down! I feel like it ended up leaning more towards Etienne than Currant, haha, but it's still focused on their dynamic rather than just Etienne's personality or relationship with other chraracters. So I hope I managed to capture that!

I also really wanted to add Yin Yang from the Persona 4 anime but it's not in spotify so just imagine it's there :c

I wanted to make her look angelic, to really lean into the "light is ominous" thing

Picking Isabeth for this,

1. Canon I outright reject: None, free my lady, she did all that but I love her for how complex it makes her.

2. A canon or headcanon hill I will die on: While I do believe that burning down her house as a kid was an accident, I think she was abused by her parents before that fact. Like, in the flashback to when Radiance found her, the way she was apologizing profusely, + how quickly she became attached to Radiance after being given even the slightest amount of positive treatment

17. Quotes, songs, poems, etc. that I associate with them: for poems, this, and for songs, No Children by the Mountain Goats is such a Isabeth/Etienne song to me.

I've been searching for it all day, but I've finally found one of the fanarts I've made of Isabeth back in the day!!! Her dubious ethics, bleach fried hair, and awful fashion sense had 7th grade me in a chokehold < 3

Also, I totally forgat that her being a ginger is not canon lmao, but I always imagined her that way, so freckled, pale, pasty Isabeth is what you get

SPOILERS FOR UP TO AROIIS BOOK 3

My headcanon design for Lily after their post-Radiance kidnap recovery arc! :) I tried to focus on practicality, so the upper cloak, armorwear, and belts are magneted to stay together; I don't remember whether it was necessarily Lily who used magnets on their outer clothing or not, but I remember someone did, so I call fair game, fjksjsjd. I also tried to focus a bit on the dissociation and intensification of the red + yellow from their light orange after their arc for the symbolism

Tempted to try and draw all the aroiis characters, major and minor, in this style. May be biting off more than I can chew

Aquamarine lore established so far: Canon lesbian fish girl who's a background character around in Book 1. She's the kind of character who hides her feelings through comedy.

Ianthe lore established so far: One of Madame Spiceberry's love interests, though it seems like they break things off at some point in the series. In her time with Madame Spiceberry, she would tell fairy tales to kids staying at the inn. She's also described as having Southeast Asian features, and chronic headaches

Please note that lore can still be added for either as long as it doesn't contradict anything previously established as canon
