What was the thought process behind their appearance? Did you go mostly for the aesthetic or are there other reasons they look the way they do?

There's reasons Dusk looks the way he does, but it's a little silly!

Behold, my creative process:

I want to make a hippie artist who is the nicest man in the world

I want to give him a hippie-ish name

I kind of like Dusk, sure let's go with that

I do not want him to seem like a Dusk

Double down on that nicest man in the world stuff, me

But also surely a Dusk would not be a big clumsy man with short blonde hair and a beard, right? Right.

I often make my RP characters in RPGs if I think their personality will fit, just because I like putting them in Situations I didn't necessarily come up with myself. So! When I started FFXIV, and I saw the elezen were kind of weird looking, I wanted to make one. What made me decide that this elezen would be Dusk, specifically? The beard. It feels so shallow to say, especially since he has fit into being an elezen so, so well now that I can't imagine him as anything else, but it was ENTIRELY because I thought elezen got the best beard, and that's what made me decide this elezen would be Dusk.

Haha, I hear you, the stat checks are fairly demanding in HS2 too (iirc) 😰, so definitely keep your eye on the walkthrough 👀, and the official tumblr or Facebook for DR, as they will announce it for you 💎 (the first is always two weeks after the update, there’s a pattern to the rest too, but no promises)

P.s the first few episodes of HS2 are emotionally demanding, but push through it, it’s so worth it!!

🛏 Is there a new trope you'd like to write this year?

For the first one, I've been playing around with the idea of a prophecy because I really like "Chosen One" stories. I also think the fake relationship troupe is really fun, so I might try one of those!

I'm in a rare pair discord with some friends that's pretty new, so I'd like to spend some time working on a few rare pair exchanges or maybe a big bang this year.

Currently, I'm pretty wrapped up in a Stetopher fic fic with Chris as a single father of a baby. You know how much I love those three!

‼️ I was coming to boop you back but- Dusk can play the Cello?! That’s so cool! Is he self-taught or did he learn from somebody else?

He can! He's not as good at it as he'd like - he has long periods where he can't practice so it takes him a bit to get back to somewhere he's content with sometimes - but he's been playing it for a long while now. Sometimes a duck interrupts practice time, but it's hard to get mad about.

He started off learning piano first (he still plays that too), from his maternal grandmother. He started cello right before his family fled relocated from Ishgard, and it took some time to find a new teacher once they were settled in Gridania, but where there's a will there's a way, I suppose.

We can blame the Ishgard Restoration quests for why I decided Dusk plays anything in the first place (as bard is very much not one of his canon classes). As a musician (I'm a horn player) I vastly preferred the idea that Dusk just so happened to know how to play piano already, rather than magically learning it in two practice sessions, since learning how to play something well takes time, dangit! Then I started thinking about if there was any other instrument he'd enjoy playing, and my brain decided cello. So here we are. <3

you know what infuriates me the most about the way people talk about kris and toriel?

growing up as a depressed teenager when your parents love you is so unspeakably painful, because the moment you start to grow up and get better and have a chance to look back on the past with clearer eyes, you realize that for every attempt at connecting you shot down, every conversation you reluctantly got dragged into, every time they prodded at your loneliness and pushed you to make friends, for every way they tried to help that didn't work because you were too broken and ontologically bad and sick in the head for it to stick... your parents spent years of their life suffering alongside you, worrying themselves to rags, helplessly watching their kid suffer because they lacked the ability or the knowledge or the medicine to make it better. but because they didn't lack the will (because they're good parents and they love you) they just kept slamming themselves against the wall between you, hoping something, anything would one day reach. because they just want you to be okay.

if you see a child go hungry because their family struggles to put food on the table, if you see a mother at her child's sickbed holding their hand and wiping the sweat off their brow because she can't do anything else to take the pain away, you would never blame them for "failing to provide what their child needs". so how the fuck do you watch toriel run around hometown day after day, asking for information or anything that could make kris feel better because she's one of 2 people total who noticed something is wrong, when the reason they're hurting to begin with is that they're possessed by a god and probably doomed to die..... and feel anything other than pity. for both of them. how do you see them as anything other than victims of very tragic circumstances. why does this fandom always treat the phrase "toriel is a nuanced character" as synonymous with any of this being her fucking fault

Hmm top 3 now this is easier than I thought

1. I follow rivers (Skam españa)

Because I love how they used the song on Crisana's first interaction and last. I loved what they've done with it and every time I hear the first few beats of the song it puts a smile on my face

2. In this shirt - the irrepressibles (Skam France) because it was such a perfect scene (samedi 2:33) and yes I remember the day and time haha

3. Just the same (Bruno major) this is my favourite Skam universe scene (Skam Espańa). There's something about it, everything is perfect. Cris dressed like Joana's drawing, Cris patience and acceptance of Joana's BPD, the love confession, the song itself, and minuto a minuto message just chefs kiss! And I'll stop now as I could go on for many more paragraphs.

To your last question, yes, I've watched Skins many years ago (as it came out) and also thought about the parallel when they did the spliff scene. I also pretend that the last season never existed. I absolutely loved Emily and still look at gifsets every now and again from that show.
