A smile can change the whole day. I struggle to make friends. Usually I'm pretty extroverted but no matter who I speak to they don't seem to want to hang out. I mean I'm always being myself yet whoever I try to interact with they don't put effort into trying to be my friend :/ what should I do?

Hello. I understand how you are feeling. It sucks, when you are being yourself and no seems to get that, or understand you, or appreciate you. Loneliness is tough, I get that. Maybe you aren’t trying hard enough? That sounds awful I know, but maybe, you should expand your perspective. Instead of just going to school and looking for friends. Try a club? A new sport club, a poem club, youth club,volunteering,cooking lessons?  it could be anything. Maybe go out with your cousin or your sister, and meet her friends, which can lead to mutual friends. Which can lead to more friends being created.Its great that you are being yourself, and you should carry on being yourself. Don’t change yourself for others. You shouldn’t rush into friendships, which could break in months.It won’t be genuine. You need to be patient, and wait for people who are like you, understand you, appreciate you. Patience is the key, I know its tough right now. But you will make friends soon, to want friends you need to be a friend yourself. Meaning, you may think you are approachable, but maybe you aren’t. And that’s what is putting people off. How do you present yourself to new people? You may be scaring people off. Maybe you’re not showing interest in other people. You should examine your communication facts, how do you speak to people? Do you just talk about yourself? Maybe not enough about yourself? Developing a bond with someone takes time, you have to be patience, once again. It can be frustrating, but don’t give up on making friends once yet! You must enjoy casual acquaintances, before you find that right friend. Believe me, you are not alone. There are many other people who are feeling just the same way as you, you need to look harder. Go talk to that weird kid, yknow the one who smells like cheese? Or that nerdy girl, who eats with her imaginary friend? I’m sure they have stories to share. Meanwhile, just sit back and go along with the flow. Good things happen to those who wait.

How Goes the World?

If you spend any time with me, you will undoubtedly hear me say: Folks are just folks, no matter where you go. What I mean by that is that people are the best, the worst, the most beautiful, unbearable and amazing creations.

What is right with the world is that there is an underlying current of grace and compassion that runs quietly along the paths we walk and gets blown around in the winds of the world.

Life is good, its really good, even when it’s hard. I know that each person has value, they carry the breath of the living God in them. A soul created from His own spirit. It is that goodness that lets compassion run free and love to heal any pain. That’s what’s right with the world, that healing is possible and love sustains.

What’s wrong with the world is that it is broken by selfishness and greed. Without pain, there can be no healing, no redemption, no grace; but oh the darkness that has to be, for the light to be seen as beautiful, it is deep. That we can be so ensnared by our own desires and ambitions, that we would trample and debilitate others in order to do so, that is what is wrong with the world.

The space that is created between these two places is called hope
