Forsaken 'The Upgraded Hell AU' [Name might change, I suck at giving names]

Tw: slight mentions of death.

My hc reminder: The Robloxia is made out code, Spectre is created from broken code that gained sentience and becomes more powerful the more negativity/suffering it consumes. Spectre is a silent killer.

The lore/world building:

It's been thousands of years since the first person got Forsakened™. The world advanced, moved on and everyone that went missing became a simple legend to scare kids so they won't trust strangers, eventually even this legend became forgotten. No one remembers the missing people anymore.

For survivors and killers the time that passed is even longer. They've been trapped in endless loop of death and survival/chase and murder for what it feels like eternity. The memories of their past became blurry, now feeling like some odd dream. The purgatory is their only reality, they don't remember why they are here anymore.

Unbeknownst to everyone a Cancer of Code, a being that owns the purgatory... The Spectre grows in power fueled by suffering of the people it trapped in it's realm. It slowly spreads outside the purgatory, silently taking control of the rest of the world.

It's a winter, a day like every other day, people live their lives, but then something shifts. In one second the entire world collapses. A snowstorm that affects the entire Robloxia. People loose their lives, homes, families. More than half of the population loses their lives.

The Spectre made it's move, bored of the purgatory, where's fun in every round being basically the same for millennials. It decided to spread onto the real world, altering the very core of it. It created disasters to survive, giving the people the very minimum. After all it doesn't want to look it's for of entertainment.

Winter became and endless snowstorm with temperatures below zero, that stops only a few times during it's duration.

Spring is one big flood, that seems like an ocean.

Summer is a drought, the temperature so high it feels like you're in the middle of the desert, in fact the world becomes a desert.

Fall comes with a fog so thick, that sometimes you can't see your own hands.

Each season spawns a animals/monsters that are suitable for the environment. Some being a source of food for the people, while other bring death. Each season is it's own hell, with it's own troubles.

Examples of hostile animals:

Winter - has mutated Yeti like monsters hiding in the snow.

Spring - underwater beasts that look kind of like water dinosaurs.

Summer - a gigantic worms that move underneath the sand that feed on what they find on the surface.

Fall - a beasts of unknown look, hiding in the fog, the only hint that they are nearby is a sound of their movement and the fog becoming slightly darker colour.

Examples of troubles each season brings:

Winter - the cold and lack of food

Spring - the water is not clean so it's hard to get drinkable water, it rains and storms often

Summer - the heat, lack of food and water, easy way for uncontrollable fires to start and sandstorms.

Fall - seemingly the easiest season, but you can easily get lost in the fog. Be weary of what lurks inside it.

You also must be weary of other surviving groups, not everyone is friendly. Also the different illnesses can happen.

The Spectre has a favourite group. A group that allowed it to achieve the control over the world. A group made of people trapped in it's first purgatory. Survivors and Killers combined.

It nerfed the killers so they would struggle in this new world, it also buffed survivors so they wouldn't die so easily. (It also nerfed the new generation of admins, after all, it's not fair for them to be stronger than the rest.)

The Spectre forced the groups to work together, enjoying the tension between them. It doesn't care about the other groups/people in the apocalyptic world of Robloxia, as long as it's favourites live.

For the survivors/killers it was supposed to be another 'day' of rounds, but suddenly everyone got spawned in one big cabin, with snowstorm raging outside. Their only explanation being a note:

'Welcome to your new hell:D'

The Spectre sent the groups into the real world, once it took control of it. It combined the cabins of survivors and killers into one bigger cabin. Each person has their own room, but they are forced to live together.

The cabin is located on a hill, which gives them a little bit of advantage. Both groups, seeing that their situation changed decided to work together to have bigger chances of survival. People that were trapped in purgatory are the only Robloxians that have an ability to respawn, but each time they die, they loose a part of themselves.

Once I'll be done with it I will make another ask that will focus on the 'Ex Purgatory Prisoners' group (I really need a shorter name for them), going further into each character. This one is about world building.

Golden Child vs Scapegoat (Pre-Canon, cont.)

[set in the Black Myth, New Gods AU.]

In my previous post, I made a "Ao Bing = Adora; Nezha = Catra" analysis.

TD;DR: Ao Bing can do no wrong, or else. Nezha can do no right.

So, their reincarnations going to be a continuation of this unstable Catradora dynamic (still haven't decided if it will be romantic or not), and the twist is that they inevitably switch places.

(I will also be using/drawing inspiration from other iterations of Nezha, like LEGO Monkie Kid)

I got to watch Nezha 2, and was shocked by how little I had to change to my story. I actually got more inspiring material work with, especially for other characters, like Ao Guang and Shen Gongbao

This is how their story continues after the War of Deification.

In Heaven

In Heaven, their extreme positions are pushed a bit closer. Ao Bing might not be so praised, and Nezha might receive a bit more prestige.

In Investiture of the Gods, a bunch of people that Nezha killed were resurrected and defied.

Ao Bing was one of them, and became the God of Imperial Canopy Star (華蓋星 huāgàixīng), working under the Ziwei Emperor (紫薇大帝 Zǐwēi Dàdì), or the Great Emperor of the North Star.

He's also the Jade Emperor's personal umbrella carrier.

Nezha becomes the Marshal of the Central Altar (中壇元帥 zhōngtányuánshuài) and the Third Lotus Prince (蓮花三太子 liánhuāsāntàizǐ), a respected warrior and leader of armies.

Ao Bing

Ao Bing is working under one of the Jade Emperor's direct subordinates, but he is still a dragon (a demon) who was wrongfully bestowed with the Spirit Pearl. He'd receive the bare minimum respect, if any. He's disdained for existing, and yet is still expected to do his job, and is harshly criticized just for every imagined thing.

(I also doubt that Ao Bing is able to do anything to help the Dragons, and is mocked when he tried to bring it up).

Ao Bing has finally got what he's (supposedly) wanted, what he worked his life for, what he was born for, and is repaid with workplace abuse.

Shen Gongbao's warnings about, "They'll never accept us" comes true. As a result, Ao Bing feels alone, unsafe, in an extremely hostile work environment.

Nezha, on the other hand, becomes a respected general in the Celestial Army. He's given more opportunities to succeed, and more second chances when he fails. Yes, he's still the Demon Pill, but he has the support of the respected Taiyi Zhenren, which boosts his social standing. He ends up making new friends (Sun Wukong, Yang Jian, etc.) and he is finally able to reach his full potential.

But, now due to his new status, he's given more responsibilities (Celestial soldier, Child protection diety, Filial son, etc.), and he has actual reasons to not let people down.

Nezha finally gets freedom, second chances, and the approval that he desperately craved his whole life. Now, he has to not screw it up. This is compounded by his reputation of being "the Demon Child" and how easy it would be to lose all the prestige that was given to him.

Thus, he gains a bit of a martyr complex, willing to throw himself at into the battle, willing to fight to the end, all to make up for his (mostly imaginary) sins.

We already see that he has an unhealthy need to self-sacrifice in Nezha (2019) and LEGO Monkie Kid

Despite this, they still try to be friends, since they're still new to the whole "immortal member of Celestial Court), but the cracks are showing.

Ao Bing clings to the one person who makes him feel safe in the Celestial Court, where everyone is against him. He sees his only friend splitting time with other people, which makes him anxious that Nezha would ditch "the inferior demon dragon who stole his destiny as the Spirit Pearl" for "better" friends (Yang Jian/Erlang Shen, Princess Iron Fan/Rakshasi, etc.).

Even as an adult with a 9-to-5 job in the government, his father's and master's teachings are still prevalent. What's worse, he is now getting external confirmation of his deepest insecurities.

But he still wants to be Nezha's friend, so he bottles up his feelings for the sake of others, like he always does. We see Ao Bing "shut down" in the movie, when Nezha invites him to his birthday party. Judging by the resigned look and how well he concealed his true feelings means he has a lot of practice.

In many cases of emotional abuse, "shutting down" is a major symptom. It was likely a survival mechanism, since expressing his true feelings would earn him a harsher punishment. From a young age, Ao Bing learned that lying was necessary to staying safe (not just hiding his dragon identity, but avoiding Ao Guang and Shen Gongbao's wrath). He also believe that it will benefit everyone if he stops "complaining" since it would be "selfish" of him to express himself.

The problem is that this isn't making those negative feelings or insecurities go away. It causes them to bottle up and fester, and eventually that comes out in negative ways.

Sound familiar?

What’s worse is that Nezha is just going through life, making friends, having fun, as if nothing happened. He even tries to introduce Ao Bing to some of his “other friends”, which goes predictably poorly.

From Ao Bing’s perspective, Nezha is being flippant and callous. He doesn’t see how Ao Bing is sacrificing his own emotional and mental wellbeing for his best friend. He doesn’t see how Ao Bing is being mistreated in the workplace. He doesn’t see how they are growing more distant from each other.

He especially doesn’t see how Ao Bing desperately needs his best friend during an extremely trying part of his life.

This growing resentment, compounded by his already existing trauma and baggage (thanks Ao Guang and Shen Gongbao) begins to simmer (and eventually boils over).

You know where this goes...

Ao Bing has a lot of pent up rage, and this is make even more clear in Nezha 2

Nezha

Now for Nezha's side of the story...

Nezha is now a member of Heaven's military, a commanding officer responsible for millions of lives: those of his soldiers, and those that he fights to protect. If he falters, he is responsible for millions of casualties. When he makes a mistake, the consequences aren't just him, they're for everyone.

He needs to shape up, to be the bigger man, since it's not about him anymore. It's about the Three Realms, the Heavenly Court, the soldiers, and those that he fails to save. Following his father's role model, he shuts down emotionally, trying to be "the stern soldier", since that's all he knows.

Despite this, there are some benefits. As a respected soldier and deity, he's believed and respected. It's easier to make friends. He tries to be more open and sociable, and is met with open arms and validation. But, on some level, he knows that all this "love" is conditional, tied to his status and skills. With the exception of a few, he becomes disillusioned with the Court of Heaven.

Still, he has opportunities that Ao Bing does not. He does make friends, like Erlang Shen and Princess Iron Fan. As far as everyone is concerned, he has stepped up in the world.

While Nezha is making new friends, he still wants Ao Bing in his life. Ao Bing was the first friend, a stranger who unconditionally wanted him for him. No powers, no political butt-kissing, no manipulation, just unconditional love.

So when Ao Bing starts acting strangely, it confuses him. What's worse is that Ao Bing refuses to talk about his insecurities, meaning Nezha isn't aware of them (or aware of the full extent of Ao Bing’s insecurities), so he doesn't know how to handle them.

Nezha does know that there is a problem, he just doesn't know the root of it. Considering his upbringing, he wouldn't even know how to solve it.

I mentioned in the last post that while Li Jing isn't abusive (a take that I personally love when done well), he is emotionally neglectful and doesn't fully explain what Nezha is doing wrong or how to fix it. As a result, Nezha doesn't have a role model for how to "fix" interpersonal relationships.

I think the best solutions he could come up with is:

A) Pretend the problem isn't there B) Try to get Ao Bing to open up about his issues C) Try to solve the (perceivable) issues on his own

Now, here are the problems with each "solution"...

A) He can't just ignore the problem, it will only cause things to get worse B) As previously mentioned, Ao Bing is "no talk about feelings", so getting him to open up is like pulling teeth (with the risk of causing him to blow up) C) This is the one that causes the most problems...

From Nezha's perspective, Ao Bing is understandably uncomfortable in an unfamiliar situation. Nezha tries to help him, but Ao Bing ends up shutting Nezha out.

Nezha is a "fixer", as we see, he is willing to give his own life for the sake of others (his parents, Jade Emperor, etc.). While he doesn't always express it in the best way, he does want to help people.

Nezha doesn't fully understand what is going on. He wouldn't be fully aware of the discrimination and oppression that Ao Bing and the Dragon Clan have experienced for centuries, but he does realize his friend is being mistreated. But the hostile work environment gets to Nezha as well. Nezha's attempts to help Ao Bing or protect him are likely shut down by Heavenly Bureaucracy, and probing the issue could make things worse for Ao Bing.

There is also the idea of "staying quiet for your own safety", and while Nezha wouldn't do that when standing up for his friends and loved ones, Ao Bing would encourage it to keep Nezha from getting into trouble, since it seemingly keeps things from getting worse.

Expect me to make a post about this later

It’s a classic “Try to please everyone, you end up pleasing no one” situation. Now that Nezha gets a taste of external validation, he’s desperate to keep it. But he also wants Ao Bing to be his friend.

So, he tries to integrate Ao Bing into his new friend group, which goes disastrously. All it does is end up further alienating Ao Bing, who likely lashes out, possibly blaming Nezha for stirring the pot and creating more problems for him.

Nezha tries to help his best friend, only for it to backfire horribly, confirming his own deep-seated self-loathing of being the "Demon Child", who is constantly failing and destroying everything he touches.

This is all compounded by his new military responsibilities.

He is losing his best friend, and he's only making it worse. People are getting hurt and its all because he isn't doing enough. He is letting everyone down, and it's all his fault. He isn't doing enough to be a "good soldier".

Does this sound familiar...

Eventually, Nezha begins to realize the corruption of Heaven, and decides he won't stand for it, which causes further problems between him and Ao Bing. But that's another post...

TL; DR: Thanks to Heaven and how they were each raised, Ao Bing is becoming Catra. Nezha is becoming Adora.

Memoir of Rati (and the lack of budget)

You know, I was going to skip this one, but I developed a morbid curiosity that got the best of me and decided to check it out and see if it's worthwhile.

It's not.

Unlike the majority I'm not worried about this one ending in tragedy, my biggest fear is actually that this one is going to end up like Wandee Goodday (which would be a different kind of tragedy).

When it was first announced on the 2025 GMMTV upfronts, Memoir of Rati was poised as a grand-entry in the genre with some political elements and historical romance intertwining. At the time it was understandable why it looked so half-baked, it was just a pilot after all. Little did I know that it would look so much worse when time came to it lol

Under the 2-minute mark and I already got slapped by some truly atrocious vfx that make SyFy originals look epic.

It did not get better...

I gasped, like genuinely gasped, at this shot. I refuse to believe any of the people involved thought this was good.

Thinking that okay they can make up the lack of polishing in post with some good set design and nice props...

If you told me that they filmed this on the parking lot I would believe it. The clothes, the sets, the props everything looks cheap; we are in minimum effort territory here. I could also go into how the direction can not handle any dynamic scenes, the camera being super clunky and relying on editing like crazy to get a scene to look somewhat cohesive (Aou's intro has 18 frames-cuts in less than 20 seconds) — but I'll talk about this crazy moment:

Rati having "the moment" while Inspector M brutalizes a thief in front of him while some romantic track plays in the background took me out.

Even crazier is the tantrum Rati throws when Inspector M is reasonable and tells they will look for the locket that fell into some murky waters in the morning.

If anyone doubted Rati's french origins now there is no question left, some real colonizer behavior right then and there.

But also, how badly do you want to smash that to go with the flow?

Apparently very much.

Here is a major pet-peeve and mostly with GMM: they would rather go bankrupt than develop a proper slow burn. This is a historical setting, with politics harboring a very hostile environment for the leads, but it only took one night a few words exchanged for us to cross the sweethearts threshold, too fast too soon, especially considering we know next to nothing about these two.

As I said, my biggest fear is that, much like Wandee Goodday, this too will have it's original plot warped beyond recognition. I can already see Sarin and Sapol having to do the most here while everything else is playing against them. As for darlings Aou and Boom... well, time will tell, although by the brief moments they had they already struck me as a more compelling story romantic-wise, going from clandestine fights in the parking lot to lovers seems more in line with what the studio is capable of handling.

And who knows, if everything goes to shit we might end up seeing Rati and Inspector M dancing at the prom, like the one we saw in Wandee Goodday... (the fuckbuddies show, had a prom... in a hospital... where the lead worked...)

That night at home, after making sure the ranch hand had fed and watered and safely locked all the animals in for the night, Elucea lay out on the deck staring at the stars thinking. Oliana and Paka'a seemed convinced her men were making things work but Tera was on the opposite side of that argument. Like she had thought while spending time with them Tera would be the person who knew more than most but why did it feel more like she was telling Elucea what she wanted to hear? Obviously that wouldn't be what she wanted, she wanted Absalom and Kan to get along so they could put their family back together. She loves them, doesn't want to do this without them, but also doesn't want to raise her children in a hostile environment either. Her upbringing wasn't hostile but it had definitely sucked and though she couldn't keep things absolutely perfect, no parent could, she was going to keep the negativity to a minimum. She wasn't even going to keep track of their skills and milestones to choose an heir THAT way. It was barbaric and pit sibling against sibling to become the "ruler" of the next generation and she wouldn't allow that. She wanted her children to be friends and stick by each other even as adults. Yeah they were sure to have their squabbles but she didn't want any rivalries to form. Even now she doesn't really have a relationship with any of her siblings. She trusted Ecinno the most and they had talked all the time but look where that got her. She got along with Edward and he even helped her while she was at University with the Aquarium stuff but once he married Echo, he never made an effort to spend any time with her, though she had invited them to her place in Sulani multiple times and offered to watch the children so he and Echo could have a date night. She hadn't even been invited to the wedding, though the other eight Glynnan siblings had. Ecinno had told her Edward had been there for Delmara's declaration too, so did he no longer consider her his sister?

you're working on filing the reports your boss asked for, leaning over your belly as it groans and moves. you sigh, ratcheting up your desk to try and tuck your tummy under it so it's a little less cumbersome. ever since that new federal vore law went into effect everyone who's clocked in was officially on the menu. there was push back against it by the more conservative crowd, but workplace productivity was at an all time high despite the skyrocketing turnover rate. not to mention the minimum wage rate was increased due to "hostile work environments." you absent mindedly rubbed your belly as you went over your reports one more time, feeling your coworker shift inside you, their struggles already slowing down as your stomach began to churn in earnest. it's a good thing you got paid more since all this digesting has put quite a few extra pounds on you. you finish the report just in time to see your boss's stockinged legs lift up over the wall of your cubicle and start to slip down with a cacophony of slurps. you sigh, close your report and heft your gut up, passing by the intern who was finishing off your boss's legs on your way to the break room. nothing to do but digest, you can't drive home with a belly like this anyway

But first: if you can't afford to donate, REBLOG THIS TO HELP IT REACH MORE PEOPLE. You can also repost it to other sites or share directly with those you know can help! This helps a lot because I'm unable to constantly reblog and share it, limiting my reach to external communities.

GoFundMe, in it's most basic explanation, is a collection service that tracks how much money a certain fund has been donated to and holds onto it for the individual/group/organization until they withdrawl (or 'cash out') the money.

GoFundMe takes a portion of what is donated to keep their own business running, but most of it still goes to the person you intended to donate to! This is also why surpassing a goal when on a crowdfunding service is extremely important. If I got exactly 10,000 in donations, I wouldn't have actually made all of that money because of the portion that is taken out.

That said, it is still incredibly helpful! Of the money that I can receive from the donations, I can put that towards so many different things!!

Due to legislation and otherwise hostile environments being created for trans people across the United States (in what is rightfully being called a genocide, but I digress) I'm choosing to go the 'out of pocket' route for top surgery, meaning I'm not relying on my insurance for the procedure. Insurance can take significantly longer, and they have a limited number of people in network (aka people who accept my insurance for payment) that can perform this. It can also limit 'cosmetic' aspects, even if those things are considered standard practice, like nipple crafts.

Basically, by paying 'out of pocket' I'm allowing myself a shorter wait time because im not having to fight with insurance, or sacrificing quality over coverage.

Is crowdfunding my only option to cover this? No! I'm saving up what I can, but I work an hourly-wage job that is considered under livable wage even though it's above the minimum. I'm scheduled to work 116 hours at a part time job for college students, just in the month of March. Because I'm disabled in several aspects, this is taking a significant toll on my physical well being. I am in a better position than other people because I'm living with one of my partner's family who provides transportation, rent (housing), electric, and water utilities, and in trade I help with food through Food Assistance, a portion of the car payment, and my portion of the phone bill. I'm also paying back the minimum monthly cost for my student loans (though I'm working to get that paused for the time being). But I'm still not making $1,000 a month after taxes and bills, which means that without spending extra money, I'm only saving a few hundred a month on my own for this goal.

All of that means that I'll need to look into financing options, what are essentially loans for medical procedures. That's where the crowdfunding comes in. While I am able to make monthly payments to cover this, depending on the plan, interest can start up in under a year. With a $10,000 surgery (that price includes the estimated costs for doctor visits, tests/scans, the procedure itself, aftercare supplies, money set aside for bills while I can't work during recovery, etc) waiting to pay all of that after the interest has started adding could take literal years, and I'd be pouring more money than I can afford into it. By crowdfunding however, I would be able to get the surgery and prior/post supplies and expenses paid for, and then pay for most (if not all) of the finances/loans I took out for it after.

Basically, in my circumstances, the crowdfunding is being raised to help me pay the loans I need for this procedure off, amongst other expenses related to the surgery.

"But why do you NEED top surgery?"

Without getting into the statistics, or even legislative parts of it (and what may try to stop me from getting it by proxy), I'll stick to the facts of my individual situation.

My breasts are a literal pain in my back, and with Fibromyalgia (a disability that causes chronic pain, even when 'nothing' is wrong, a poor explanation but one that is satisfactory for this discussion) it just makes it that much worse. My breasts are rather large and are causing me a great deal of struggle to even breath properly because of their weight.

Even if that wasn't the case though, they cause me significant gender dysphoria, meaning my body is distressing me because it doesn't match my perceived sense of self as a man (or masc) person. Socially, emotionally, and mentally, they limit my transition and health, so removing them is in my best interest (my therapist even agrees). Getting this surgery done ASAP is a priority for me because of this, as well as the aforementioned growing hostility for trans people, and Anti-Trans legislation that feeds into that.

I understand that some people are cautious to donate money to someone who may not bring doing tbeir on effort to save money themselves.

As I said before, I'm saving what I can with my disposable income (or money that does not go directly to bills and expenses). I'm not spending on frivolous things (for me, that's eating out, new clothes, trinkets, subscription services or otherwise unneeded items). Unneeded items do not include pet supplies, medication expenses, NEEDED clothing (like weather appropriate clothes for the season), hygiene products like deodorant and soap, and other items that are not bills but are still needed.

But I'm also going to start applying for grant/scholarship money for trans people, or money I don't have to pay back. This money (should I qualify AND receive it) will go directly towards my surgery expenses so I don't have to pay as much money back on loans.

There is a chance I won't receive any of them that I apply for, which is why my gofundme goal is the total cost still, so I'm not low balling myself and having to raise the goal later.

If you really want to, I'm also opening commissions (three slots total). Because I'm packing myself to the brim with my main job, I won't be able to complete them as quickly, though I will work on them as frequently as possible. Siblinghood Troubles World building

WARNING: Gore and body horror mentions. Also, spoilers up to chapter 14.

Callback ping works on first generation Disassemblers, because the Solver has a direct line to them thanks to it creating them. Second generations have never met it and thanks to their already nerfed Solver code, just aren't easy to connect to. This means that Callback ping does not work on them, unless the Solver has paid extra attention to them.

In chapter 10, we are introduced to the slop that is Growth Mulch. A mix of oil, frozen meat/fat and metal, the mulch is basically the ideal Dissassembly Drone meal. Because the DDs were originally made to eat humans and because they have a lot of flesh inside them, they do crave proteins and fat. The mulch also speeds up regeneration, as it gives the Disassembler more material to work with.

It, however, does nothing to feed the Disassembler prey drive. Only Disassemblers who have lived most of their life with workers (aka, Jay and Cyn) can live off it.

The reason most Disassemblers living outside wrap their extremities, despite overheating being a very real risk, is that the heat from their cores does not travel to their limbs or tail. It remains at their chest cavity and keeps their organs/inner mechanics warm. But their tails usually are so long the heat just can't travel that far. The canister at the end protects the very tip, but can't warm the whole tail.

-The fluid in the canister is the same fluid that serves as the acid in the DDs stomachs. It allows the DDs to eat pretty much anything and still gain some sustenance.

Torn ears are such a minor wound that the Disassembler regeneration does not fix them. The only way to fix the ears is to destroy the DDs head. It is easy to tell how long a DD has gone without a decapitation by the amount of ear damage.

DDs born in cold areas usually have fur to protect their tails/hands and feet. Depending how humanized they are, the fur can only be on their tail or basically everywhere but on their chest, stomach and face.

The average number of kits in a DD litter is 2-4. Usually less the harsher their environment is.

As sad as it is, most kits are not expected to survive into adulthood. Especially in hostile places like Copper 9, there simply isn't enough food or warmth to go around.

Cyn's disabilities come from her littermates leeching most of the nutrition in the womb and after she was born being basically left with the bare minimum of food. No one expected her to live longer than a few days.

Each DD in the fic is based on a dog breed.

Jay: German Shepherd Dog. The Most working dog ever. Cyn: Romanian village terrier. Stubborn, anti-social and great at snapping.

SD-J: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Rival to the GSD, smaller, slinkier and with much more drive. N: Kangal. The nicest thing to its pack, the worst thing to its foes. V: Shiba Inu. Cat-like, does what it wants. Great hunter. Tessa: Border Collie. Far too clever for its own good and great at herding its pack.

James O'Keefe Launches Countersuit Against Project Veritas, Alleges Defamation, Breach of Contract

"Yet, in a bewildering turn of events, the very institution O'Keefe had nurtured from its inception turned against him."

"James O'Keefe of OMG has launched a countersuit against Project Veritas, a company he founded and helmed until February 2023. Project Veritas sued their founder in May of that year, and now, O'Keefe is bringing his own claims against the group. O'Keefe was put on leave, at first for two weeks and then indefinitely, which he has said was an attempt to force his resignation, and he later offered that.

In the countersuit obtained by The Post Millennial, O'Keefe accuses the Project Veritas Board of materially breaching the employment agreement when he was stripped of his position, compensation, and ability to do his work, "which proximately and directly damaged" him. O'Keefe offers a counterclaim of defamation, alleging that the "Board members acted negligently, at minimum, in regards to the truth or falsity of their statements."

Tweets from Board members are included in the documentation, showing remarks and assertions they had made publicly about O'Keefe during the course of the dispute and the suit brought by Project Veritas against O'Keefe. These include calling O'Keefe a "sociopathic liar," stating that "everyone who ever worked for/with him feels exactly the same on this point." O'Keefe was called "evil" and accused of "criminality" in these public tweets from Project Veritas Board member Matthew Tyrmand. Further, private facts were published by Board members, the case reads. "Project Veritas published personal and private communications of an intimate nature, by providing them to wrongdoers for that express purpose, including but not limited to the Twitter Account 'James O’Keefe The Panty Thief.' In doing so, PV published matters concerning O’Keefe’s private life," the suit reads.

"The disclosure of O’Keefe’s private messages was a gross violation of O’Keefe’s privacy and highly offensive to a reasonable person," the suit reads. Additional claims include the intentional infliction of emotional distress, that "Plaintiffs intentionally inflicted severe emotional distress on O’Keefe by deliberately humiliating him in front of the PV staff to create an unbearably hostile work environment and force O’Keefe to resign." Other breaches are also alleged. The suit also gives a glimpse into the background of the case, and O'Keefe's account of what happened during the period of time when he left the company. The document lays out a timeline of events that led to the removal of O'Keefe and the demise of Project Veritas.

It all began, the suit states, in early February 2023 when O'Keefe was confronted by the company's CFO over a pricey helicopter trip. O'Keefe, who had used helicopters before with no issue, fired the CFO, Tom O'Hara. The board, comprised of O'Keefe, Matthew Tyrmand, and John Garvey convened an emergency meeting, during which Tyrmand proposed adding more people to that board. O'Keefe objected, but they were added anyway. Additional people were added to the meeting.

"Ahead of the meeting, Tyrmand had lined up cherry-picked disgruntled current and former employee 'observers' to attend by phone and speak. Other employees, previously happy in their positions, were invited to attend and listen," the suit reads. Grievances were read into the record, along with transgressions by O'Keefe. The board reinstated the fired CFO, put O'Keefe on leave, removed his ability to hire or fire people for 180 days, took his credit card, and restricted his access to the company's "proprietary information."

As O'Keefe was on leave, the board determined that he had engaged in "serial misspending." Shortly thereafter, a letter of employee complaints was issued. O'Keefe's leave went from two weeks paid leave to indefinite unpaid leave in what the suit alleges was an attempt to "force O'Keefe's voluntary resignation." O'Keefe said he could resign or the board could, and when the board did not, he tendered his resignation from the company he founded in 2011. He was replaced at the helm by the woman he founded it with. Those with Project Veritas maintained that O'Keefe was not ousted.

"Over a matter of a few days," the suit reads in the introduction, "a Board — ironically, dedicated to truth and transparency— engaged in a calculated ambush of its founder, stripping him of authority and publicly humiliating him in front of the very team he had assembled. This was not a measured response to legitimate concerns, but a premeditated coup that ignored years of successful leadership and the unique value O'Keefe brought to the organization."

"The Board's actions," it continues, "cloaked in the language of corporate governance, revealed a profound and willfully obtuse misunderstanding of what made Project Veritas special. They failed to grasp that O'Keefe was not merely an employee, but the beating heart of an organization that thrived on his vision, his connections, and his public persona. In their myopic focus on alleged expense reports and management styles, they lost sight of the forest for the trees, jeopardizing the very mission they were sworn to uphold."

"These counterclaims are not merely about contractual disputes or corporate governance," the suit goes on to say. "They are about the willful destruction of a unique institution in American journalism. They are about a small group of individuals who, entrusted with safeguarding a vital public watchdog, instead chose to put it down. The Board's actions have not only harmed James O'Keefe personally but have deprived the public of a crucial voice at a time when investigative journalism is needed more than ever."

Actually I want to make a longer post about it now that I've brought up Stillfleet and how absolutely terrible their module is with regards to their claimed vs analyzed politics.

First some background information on the game itself. Stillfleet is a sci-fi horror TTRPG written by Wythe Marschall and the Stillfleet Studio. The core gameplay loop of Stillfleet is about accepting missions working as an enforcer for The Company, going out and completing those mission, then returning with loot and experience so they can raise their standing in the company. The game also has themes of misdirection, wherein the company misleads the players and the players are expected to mislead the company in turn.

Now, the authors never explicitly label themselves as anarchists (though they do explicitly call themselves anti-capitalists) but the politics running through the game make it clear that they are, especially since the only faction the sourcebook treats as unambiguously good is a group of anarcho-socialists. They also, at least nominally, claim to be indigenous activists and start each of their sourcebooks with a land acknowledgement. This is relevant due to the themes to come later.

Anyways, the second module, The Rain Thieves, is about the players travelling to a forgotten colony of the company in search of samples of rare fungi. The central conflict of this story is that the world is a desert world with very harsh conditions and the fungi actually act as filters for the few water sources available making them safe to drink and as such are very fragile ecosystems that the players are likely to disrupt, which endangers all life on the planet.

A part of this setting is that there are two groups of humans living on the planet, the Radanaais who have lived there for a thousand years. They were originally a religious minority that was fleeing to another world to escape persecution. The second group, the Radanchi are the company settlers. It's been nearly 80 years since they last had contact with the company and many of them no longer feel any loyalty or sympathy for them.

Much of the gameplay for this module revolves around the conflict between the two local groups and the players, acting as proxies for the company.

The Radanaais are very clearly set up to be a parallel to north American indigenous groups. Compared to the Radanchi who are interested in trade with the company and are culturally similar to them, the Radanaais do not like these offworlders and see them as a threat to their wellbeing. Where the Radanchi are exploitative of the environment, the Radanaais live in harmony with it. ECT, ECT. It's really quite heavy handed.

This is where the big problem occurs. There are actually three separate sentient species that are native to the desert world and all three are in the game pretty much as target practice. They are spider-like aliens with "primitive" culture and little contact with the human population. You cannot interact with them on a social level and for at least one group, the sourcebook explicitly disallows using certain powers to force communication. Generally speaking, the game views killing them or disrupting their ecosystem as less bad than doing it to either human group because the aliens are hostile anyways.

Which leads to the biggest problem in the module: the Radanaais are implied to have committed genocide but this is unaddressed.

The planet has very few water sources, like, nine in total, and each one not under human control has a distinct megafauna that evolved near the water source and is unique to that area. Moreover, sentience developed several times among these groups and a minimum of three of these species are sentient, possibly more. The Radanaais control three water sources and none of them have a native megafauna that lives there.

Which means one of two things: either the water sources never developed megafauna like the others for some reason, or the Radanaais hunted them to extinction. Now I bring up genocide because one of the three listed sentient species, the Firespiders, does not control a water source. They are wanderers and attack anything they can find. Which begs the question, given we know life on this planet only evolves near water, how did the Firespiders develop? The answer, obviously, is that they are native to one of the Radanaais controlled water sources and we're driven from their homes a thousand years ago.

Anyways, point is these people recreated like, space Israel and set up the space Israelis as indigenous while ignoring and marginalizing the actual indigenous groups they created. Which is crazy cause they didn't need to create those groups at all. They could have made the desert actual Terra Nullis (which may have it's own issues) but they instead decided to be really really racist.

Fairytales from the SMP: Volume II Collab Rules and Information

There will be 15 fairytales maximum. Artists and writers will be assigned to one fairytale each. There will be no repeat fairytales.

Although fairytales are not repeated, ships can be (ex: both Cinderella and Rapunzel can be dnf, they just have to be written by two different writers)

Writers can act as beta readers for other writers. This does not change that only one writer is assigned to write one fairytale.

Please do try to reach out to a designated beta reader before going to another writer.

This is a positive event. Do not write neg of or over-vilify anyone. If you cannot be neutral at minimum in your works, do not write that character. This is meant to be a hostility/toxicity free environment.

Adhere to cc boundaries as much as possible while creating for this collab.

Do not ship Dream with Tommy, Tubbo, or Ranboo. I don't expect that anyone would, but I don't think it hurts to explicitly say it.

No sexual or underage content.

Relationships do not need to be romantic ships.

nostalgic zillenial rambling below

This time of year always has me thinking about all the prior Ata's birthdays and how different my life was during each of them. Funny enough, this year it coincided with me moving into my very first house. I'm officially out of apartment life!

The first Ata's birthday in 2018, I was in my second year of college having what would end up being the best year of my life. I loved school, I hardly worked, and I was busy enough that the anxiety and depression was on mute for the most part lol.

2019 was when the adult stress of work and apartment renting started settling in. I was making minimum wage and on track to getting my degree and was very scared by the prospect of not being in school anymore. (Also Dan Howell was just about to come out of the closet so that was the most pressing matter at the time lol)

By June 2020 I was freshly graduated, still making minimum wage, and just about to move to another state (also, ya know, 2020.)

June 2021 I had already quit the first job I got after moving because it was the most hostile environment ever lol and was working with the best boss I have ever had. He was a 55 year old asexual man who I became genuine friends with. I miss him all the time. (sidenote I was living in an apartment i hated haha.)

June 2022 I was still working with Best Boss making not much money, but I was also working at a covid testing lab which was chaotic as hell but super fun. I got paid a weird amount of money there, like waaay too much money. they were deffo price gouging haha but hey i got paid well. they shortly lost a lot of demand since covid testing stopped being required as much, and they laid off a ton of people, me included. So as much as I loved working with Best Boss, that job didnt pay me nearly enough. (I also had moved into an apartment that i hated less that year lol.)

June 2023 I had gotten my first Official Adult Boy Full Time Office job, which is the most stable job ive had. It makes time feel so strange, because it doesnt feel like ive been there that long, but it really is coming up on 2 years now, dang.

June 2024, I'm still at that Official Adult Boy job, and I've just moved into my first house. I'm sitting on my back patio with a pizza, spicy cucumber and a beer and feeling pretty weird that this is a post about an anime boy.

Ya know, he's kinda more than an anime boy to me at this point, hes more like a guy that lives in my brain that ive built a house for, and tearing down that house requires removing parts of my memories of my adult life. He's been along with me during all of my adult anxiety and depression, all my horny daydreaming, and through all my major life changes and jobs. He's always at the front of my brain. Whenever I start drawing a face, it inevitably ends up being his face.

Which we think is the case for a lot of people and doesn't so much to do with our being neurodivergent and more just the fact we've worn ourselves out a lot. Like. One look at our personal posts specifically and we think most individuals will see the why.

We like our current job insofar as it gives us what we need to be able to get by with a little more than just the bare minimum for ourselves and that we work from home, but it's still not, like, GREAT as in ot was never our first choice. Our first choice would be graduate school. Which we guess we could still do but we wanna get out of our debt for the double bachelor's degree first. Plus we live completely alone and the world is hostile to people who want/need to stay single in general, actually. 😭
