While I love the anime giving us iruna etelero just as much as the next person (sometimes I listen to it on loop while studying for my exams), I think that originally Lindel's song was meant to have no words at all:

Looking at the page and at Chise's description of the song, I just feel like it was entirely vocal. I mean, right after this Lindel even talks about music that existed before words did. It'd be pretty weird for him to say this if there were any words in his song.

Maybe what Lindel is singing is a joik/yoik, even. He is Sámi, after all. Joiking/Yoiking is their traditional form of singing, and lyrics are not necessary for singing a joik as far as my research goes (of course I'm not an expert, though). It's also considered to be one of Europe's oldest surviving musical traditions, which also really fits into what Lindel is saying.

Merry Christmas to @secretsivekept, who gifted me a generous tip a while back and asked for Astro! He's not quite as cute as I feel like you were asking, but I was feeling a bit disappointed with my first draft and also a little nostalgic for an old ask blog I had made that never really went anywhere, and possibly never will bc the last update I was working on was on the laptop and is therefore potentially lost forever, depending. Ahem. Anyways. This is Astro/Atom as he appears in the "Atom Returns" arc/sequel of the original manga, which sadly was not very popular for some reason. I think back in the day people used to say it was the design, which, yeah I can kind of get that, but also I'm a bit fond of it for some reason. This is actually partially based on my own version, which basically replaces the mid-section with white, bc the lined flesh-tone looked stupid imo. He's an angsty guy, even canonically, tho most of this arc has never received an official English translation. I'd like to be able to read what I can of it. There's actually more than one version, with the other being aimed at a much younger audience, for some reason. tbh I like that one a hell of a lot less, for reasons that involve juice in one of the most godforsaken ways. It's just. Really, really weird. iykyk.

It doesn't feel right that you can just work out the size of an atom with 'simple' math.

Just fold some wire into a shape to hold a spherical droplet if oil. Measure that diameter with calipers. Put that droplet onto a tray of water, wait for it to spread out and measure the diameter.

The volume of the drop of oil is V=4/3 π(diameter/2)^3

The volume of oil is consistent so rearranging (this: V=hπr^2) for height h=V/(πr^2)

And that's the height of the atom.

What the actual fuck.

Why is it that easy.
