So ummmmm I had an idea for an AU. The big idea is that Raph is stuck in a time loop until he can save his brothers from gruesome deaths because someone is determined to see them dead (who or what i haven’t determined yet)

Not happy w the results (tried to make a chibi style but i just couldn’t get it to look right. Should’ve prob looked at references lol but i was too stubborn), but I didn’t want it to just rot away and since I’ve been struggling making art and thus haven’t posted anything new recently, here you go

Im definitely going to reattempt this though I like the concept

Alright, so this is basically...an art dump for all the pics i drew when i was trying to draft the ending i wanted my Odile looping Au 'Like a Wheel Ever Turning' which...is not even SLIGHTLY how this fic is going to end now, but while figuring that out i still like draw all this and had to do SOMETHING with it.

So figured I'd post it and be like 'hey! fun Odile looping act 5 boss fight vibes not connected to anything else!' since like...that basic IS what they are at this point lol.

The one cool idea i loved that i think is now FIRMLY ditched is the act 5 boss fight starts when Odile uses wish craft to splinter herself into two halves.

The 'old/current' her that is meant to be her coldly logical side, and a younger 'copy' version, which is meant to be the childish irrational side...that is what's stopping her just shutting down the time loop because she can't figure out how to be happy with her friends leaving.

I mean, if you murder the part of you that WANTS the wish to come true, that's basically a 'get out of time loop free card' right? Right! Totally sound logic!

Yes the 'young' version of her firmly believes that she's real, and also also got memories going up to about age 21, and also that she ought to be in Ka Bue not HERE among these french weirdos.

Also yes again, a 'young' Odile is EXACTLY as unhinged about this as you'd expect a 21 year old to be upon finding out that apparently the 'real' her think murdering her is the correct solution to this problem!

The shift of the fight was meant to have the inverse 'colors' shift from one version to the other by the end, wrapping up with the point where the 'original' Odile is forced to have a heart to heart with the personification of her perceived 'worst' qualities.

Pretty sure the vibes for this ending was a lot more focused on the resolution of having deeply complex feeling about EXPRESSING emotion directly to other people. That along with a side helping of how isolating it is to be perceived as a 'real' adult such that you can't be weak enough to ask anyone for help. Because really if you can't even be that then why are you any different then when you were irritating mess of a youth?

Not saying any of that isn't still present in the story, but like...there is a LOT of other stuff going on, and those themes are now linked into many other ones too, and that's not even TOUCHING on how Loop's been...somewhat complicating my redrafting lol.

...Also I might have drawn/plotted this version before i knew about two-hats lol. THAT also is a factor.

Anyway! Still liked all of these enough to want to do SOMETHING with them, and figured this worked, so i could like map out my thoughts on them, even if i never got to write this.

My @isat-secretsanta-2024 gift for @pillowspace!! They said they’re fascinated by secret research lab AUs, and, in a case of incredible serendipity, that’s been my favorite trope since I was like 8 years old. So I may have gotten possessed and spent three weeks straight worldbuilding a whole entire thing.

So! This comic is my gift for Pillow, but I’m planning to write a fic set in the same AU eventually, titled Desperate Measures. It will take place in a modern day Vaugarde and focus on Odile, Loop, and Siffrin, alongside other more-or-less-familiar faces. And by “eventually” I mean this is now my highest priority project, but it’s big enough that it may be a couple months till I have anything else to show!

Or like this is all a dream, and as soon as I'm about to see the shade my brain will realize it doesn't actually know how to show me something I've never seen before, so it'll put me in front of a full auditorium instead; and then I'll forget how to speak Vaugardian, or realize I'm not wearing any pants, or both, and then I'll wake with a start back in Ka Bue.

But however strange it seems, I can't think of any reason they'd have to lie about it. Why else all the NDAs? Why else contact me? So I must assume that it's true. That after years of trying to solve humanity's loss of color vision — a project that began long before I joined it, and that I expected to continue long past my time — I am about to simply be shown a perceivable color. That's the strangest part, really; that this breakthrough isn't related to the mechanisms of sight, but rather, the thing seen.

I thought perhaps they'd synthesized it somehow. Stumbled upon the correct combination of chemicals by accident. Maybe even invented a new sort of craft.

I didn't expect their source of red to be alive.

Or a small thought of a hsr and isat crossover lead to me trying to imitate the style of character announcements!

From my notes Loop starts as a 4*, one that'll always be there to help if needed, almost Asta-like, but has an optional Two Hats related 5* that's actually changes the path to Hunt similar to Siffrin's base path

In case of Siffrin he's like Trailblazer in that regard changing path at least once Story-related reasons

Like becoming Lightning Nihility at Act 4-5!

I honestly just had fun sorting and imagining everyone in that setting

Just im case non-hsr players wonder

But in Loop's case they follow Elation actually, but that's not a playable path, so it's a Sparkle situation basically

the siffrin + loop dynamic in the wtf au is so funny to me. they call each other siffrin for exactly one conversation and promptly decide, no, that's weird. can't do that. ew. and promptly never refer to each other by name ever again.

its not enough that the only one who remembers siffrin is this future version of themself thats annoying as crab and acts like they hate him, but also. this future version of themself is also the cause of like. most of his problems right now. not that this fact is immediately evident but can you imagine?

like. having a future you is even more confusing than getting a random star person beamed to your face bc its like. how did you even become this person. what the fuck happened here.

fucked up isat/deltarune crossover where Loop is given the chance to make a new body they're comfortable with only for the whole thing to get chucked into the void.

Then they wake up pulling a weird-ass 3rd person perspective possession on a teenager. Because apparently they're not done being a guide just yet.

and they're looping again. But in like. multiple sections??? (Loop is now being Forced By The Universe to find all the shards before being able to progress)

They can't even blame Kris when they try to beat them with a hockey stick. Loop would do the same.

This may be their actual hell.

(it's not, The Universe just needed someone to help out & Loop seemed to be at loose ends after ISAT, but it's hardly going to explain that.)
